Confusion of VDA licenses

Hello
After the reading on the VDA licenses much to difficult to get a grip on what it was so I came to the community.
Question:
I have a physical windows 7 pro machine with VMware player installed. VMware Player is running a windows 7 pro machine
My question is which of them (if any) needs of the VDA license

The physical machine can cause an OEM license and use of virtual the VDA or is there something that I am missing

  • Confused about entering licenses

    Hello

I do a 5.1 installation view in a 5.1 vCenter environment and I'm running into a strange question. I have a number of licenses in the MyVMware portal. There are two "VMware View 5 Desktop Server' licenses each of the 10 mV and there are 4 licenses 'VMware View 5 first adding' 50, 10, 20, 20 virtual machines.

Strange thing is that I can enter the menu of vCenter Server Licensing VMware View 5 Desktop Server licenses and they appear as expected with 10 virtual machines from each. But the license "VMware View 5 first addition" are all invalid according to vCenter, because I get an invalid license error.

So I called the Support of VMware licenses and they told me that I should enter these 'VMware View 5 first adding' license in the Admin of the view interface. When I go there, I can indeed enter the licenses, one by one and view accepts them. But I do not see the license keys, as I already entered and I can't see also VMs how I have the right to run.

Technical support technician told me that this is correct, the expected behavior, and I get a warning when I'm close to the limit of the license. I have hard to believe this and I was wondering what are your experiences. How can you check the number of licenses available from VM?

    Concerning

    Gabrié

The module View first licenses are without vSphere licenses. You can enter license View first add-on in vCenter because they view licenses. The view admin console you can only put in 1 license key. It does not matter that one you enter, there is no control on the number of virtual machines or concurrent workshops, this is just a license on paper, you need to have.

You combine the Office vSphere license into a license key and enter this key in vCenter. Then, you must assign this license you vSphere hosts where your desktops will be organized.

  • confusion of the vsphere licenses 4

    Hello

I have a little confusion on Vsphere4 licenses. We knew all that ESXi 4.0 is a free bare metal hypervisor, to manage ESXi 4.0, use Vsphere4 to manage.

As we all know that when download us ESXi 4.0 Vsphere4 comes with it. But I saw in the vmware page Web tells me that Vsphere4 is not free.

so after that I applied the free license means that I can use the Vsphere4 to manage my ESXi 4.0 for free?

There is no restriction as such. You are allowed to only install the free vsphere Client on N No machine fo.

  • VDI licensing

Hello, I recently woke up Windows Server R2 VDI host 2012. I have 5 users test currently, they use Windows 7 Enterprise for each workstation.  They are all access to the VDI server within the company at the present time.

With regard to the licenses of the SA, VDA, client access licenses remote can be confusing.

If I buy the VDA licenses for them, the way I read some FAQ I shouldn't away from CAL, is that correct, or I read incorrectly?

  • TestStand Debug Deployment License Question

I'm a little confused by the licensing OR and need advice...

I have a PC that I use with a contract manufacturer that is set up to run LABView and Teststand
    applications.

It was working fine until recently, I've updated this PC and receive the following backup TestStand license
screen every time I run the TestStand on this PC application:

When I try to activate this product online, I get the following screen:

On this PC I have not loaded development system but I buy and had installed on this PC, a copy

of the TestStand Base Deployment Engine. I don't know what is the debug deployment environment or how

    He got on this PC.

If these are the same package, where can I find the serial number for the TestStand Base Deployment Engine on my

    2013 developer Suite CD?

If these are not the same, How can I remove this backup reminder now so I can make sure I can run again TestStand

applications on this PC (that I need to send it back to a remote site before 5 days)?

    Thank you

Just delete the license files according to the link I mentioned earlier.  Then you should be able to activate correctly again.

VDA and the use of the student

    Hello

I'm trying to find what options to license our University has for VDI student use.   With 2000 students we would really here the year 2000 VDA licenses.  Are there other options out there?

  • Power of fire licensing management center

I'm someone who is confused by the license, I hope someone can clarify this.

I have a Cisco ASA5506X test setup that has the URL, AMP, IPS key installed via ASDM.

I downloaded the power of fire. Mgmt Center 6.1.0 VM and tried to connect to the ASA.

I wanted to use the eval. period of check of FMC.

However, it seems that the licensing of the ASA does not apply to the CSP. Can I need separate licenses for FMC in addition to those on the SAA or do I have to reinstall these licenses on the CMF?

You must first register the ASA of CMF (and vice versa) and then apply the CME licenses ASA newly managed.

Licenses of firepower are linked to the license key (combination of model platform ID and MAC address) of the FMC Manager so you should rehost those you used initially ASDM.

You can only manage a service module firepower since one - or the CMF-based ASDM - Manager at a time.

  • Licenses of ASA

    Hi all

We bought a new device of 5515 x ASA. I'm confused with the license available on the device.

How many users can connect with the Anyconnect VPN client to the device?

The maximum physical Interfaces: unlimited perpetual
    VLAN maximum: 100 perpetual
Guests of the Interior: perpetual unlimited
    Failover: Active/active perpetual
    Encryption - A: enabled perpetual
    AES-3DES-Encryption: activated perpetual
    Security contexts: 2 perpetual
    GTP/GPRS: Disabled perpetual
    AnyConnect Premium peers: 2 perpetual
    AnyConnect Essentials: Disabled perpetual
Counterparts in other VPNS: 250 perpetual
    Total VPN counterparts: 250 perpetual
    Shared license: disabled perpetual
    AnyConnect for Mobile: disabled perpetual
AnyConnect Cisco VPN phone: disabled perpetual
Assessment of Advanced endpoint: disabled perpetual
Proxy total UC sessions: 2 perpetual
    Botnet traffic filter: disabled perpetual
    The IPS Module: Disabled perpetual
    Cluster: Activated perpetual
Members of the cluster: 2 perpetual

This platform includes an ASA 5515 Security Plus license.

    FC

Philip AnyConnect 4.x licenses are NOT limited to a single ASA (or pair HA). It is a change of 3.x and earlier versions.

You can exchange the PAKs against ASAs as are used for remote access VPN in a given customer.

As long as you do not exceed the number of authorized users, you in the terms of the license. The number of users is not currently technically - applied is to the customer, such as advised by their dealer, buy the right level of license.

  • ISE licensing

Hi guys, I'm confused about ISE licensing. We want most of the elements, including cable, wireless, VPN, guests, profiling, posture etc.

If a seller listed on base + licenses apex endpoint (anyconnect) and they say that we will cover.

Is this right since the licenses page suggests that we need much more than that?

    Thank you!

    Jacques

While you can technically run a deployment ISE with only Base and Apex (and AnyConnect Apex if you do not use Aboriginal applicants) licenses, you usually need more licenses too if you plan to use the services it provides (including profiling).

You also need the line items for the servers themselves - if device or VM.

  • VSphere or ESXi licensing

Hi I have a dell R815 with 128 GB of physical Ram and 2 popular Cpu with 12 cores of each. I run VMware on it, then we can test and learn the different virtual machines at the same time. Unfortunately, as new Virtualization we are a bit confused by the licensing options. Could someone tell me what is the minimum license should I buy to achieve the following:

Run multiple machines virtual woth a maximum of 8 virtual processors each and 32 GB of Ram per virtual computer. I'm not worried about DR or some advanced features in this time and I wonder if Vsphere essentials would correspond to my needs? or do I watch another license?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the community - Yes the essential licence will cover you - or you could get two enterprise license-

  • Choose the right license

    Hello

I am a bit confused with the licenses and hope I can get answers from here. I have a case where VMware ESXi 5 will be installed only on a single server. HP Proliant ML350 G6 (24 GB of RAM, 1 CPU with 4 cores). What would be the best license for this case? No need for vMotion, HA etc because there is only this server. Wouldn't be the essential license? Backups are done with Veaam Backup & Replication 6. Veeam B & R leverages vStorage API and a few other APIs that are not available in the free edition. These are available in all paid versions?

All versions under vSphere license work with Veeam B & are so you can get just the necessary license.  It is sold as part of the Essentials kit which includes 3 licenses host (up to 2 CPUs) and vCenter Server for Essentials.

  • Do we need to buy separate licenses for ESXi and VCenter and 5

    Hello

I have confusion about the licensing model, I have 2 servers (2 socket) physical with 4 licenses of VMWARE VSPHERE 5 STANDARD 1 PROCESSOR, you can clear my doubts if I need to buy a separate license for VCenter Server and if so, which is the right one?

    Thank you

Yes, vCenter Server needs to be licensed separately (VMware also offers packaged essentials and acceleration kits). Since you already have the CPU licenses, you can either watch the "vCenter Server Foundation" license that allows to manage up to 3 guests or 'vCenter Server Standard' license without this limitation.
