connect a 3rd server in a remote office connection

Hello

We have a VDI environment running in America. It has 2 servers connection (independent.  An only external server connections, the other serves as internal connections only.

One of our European offices needs to have the virtual desktop solution. Due to limitations in bandwidth, performance and al., they need a local solution.

Is it possible to add a third connection server in this European office? Is it possible to integrate this third server in the connection with our environment VDI existing in the USA?

We plan to redirect European customers using a pool specialist for European users.

Thanks for any help you can provide

EM

I think that right now everyting must be local to the Europle office.  No integration with the broker of connection from the American point of view.

  • Connection of remote offices SPA3102

My boss just bought two SPA3102 VoIP routers in an attempt to set up a VoIP connection to a remote office, thus avoiding expensive international calls.  I'm looking for advice on setting up.

This is the ideal configuration, we're after.  Box, it is in the seat, and it is connected via the RTC port on a phone line (in fact the PBX).  His IP address is 192.168.32.8 (we are without using the routing of each box function, then the two boxes are connected to the network via the WAN port, with the side LAN not used at all).  Any incoming call on the telephone line must be connected directly on the phone connected to the box of two.  There is no phone connected to the box one.

Box 2 is in remote desktop. For testing purposes, its IP address is currently 192.168.32.9.  He got a telephone connected to the telephone port, and the PSTN port is connected to a standard telephone line.  We want the phone to use the RTC line by default, but if the user dials 9 then, we wish the appeal directed to the PSTN line on box a (i.e. PBX.), where it can dial into a PBX it seeks.

The offices are connected by a virtual private network, so there is no NAT anywhere to worry.

I have a problem in this place, what with the instruction light manual and confusing options, so any help much appreciated!

Here are the settings I've worked. I have omitted some.

I have a problem on the left: calls to the phone remotely (both by the PBX and telephone line remote) are very quiet.  I played with the settings of Gain PSTN SPA to compensate, but I set the remote zone to its maximum of 12 and it is still too quiet, so I think that there is a problem elsewhere.

  • Implementation of remote offices, VMware ESXi

Hi people, I hate you bug with what he could have been asnwered before, but I couldn't find an asnwer very clear here. Any help/advice is much apprecaited. So, here's the deal:

We plan blown full virtualization (Server + VDI) to our datacenter and 3 remote sites. Data Center (HQ) and 1 remote office are located in Europe, 1 in North America and 1 Office in Hong Kong. All remote sites are with about 5 to 10 local non computer users. HQ has about 90 users and staff. Clearly, we want to put everything in place so that it can be managed on the Wan. We will make IPsec VPN site-to-site with each remote site through Cisco ASA and ISR routers/appliences.

In HQ, we implement the Server Blade HP (chasis c7000) of several ProLiant G7 and EMC Clariion CX4 storage.

For remote offices, we plan to have a local server (2 CPUs) and local storage. Internet connections are good DSL, but nothing complicated. On the road, we could look at MPLS in the light of the video and voice conference, but for now it's off the table. Because we want to deploy VDI in remote offices, we want to have clones the on local servers so that they are independent of WAN. We run a file sharin, DC, print server in terms of orders OS Server mainly.

    1. How is back-up to be managed from remote desktop to virtual offices at Headquarters? You can just save changes/deltas or is it always?

    2. what type of products VMware, we need in remote offices? VSphere Standard would do for everything what we need (remote management, backup remote VM etc.)?

    3. is it possible to have remote users forwarded to use their VD through the WAN of local server failure? Software that manages this part?

4 any other recomendatiosn or best tips in our case here?

Thanks again for any advice you have as we are very pleased to start this, but sure looks like a lot of work... and a few uncertainties.

    Jim

    Hello

    1. How do you distribute patches and OS updates to the remote VDs via WAN?

You can use AUVS to install packages in the comments. In this way, everything is done on the spot.

    2. with a ThinApp structure in a VDI infrastructure how do you deliver applications, their patches to remote desktop (stream or MSI or?)? You have to have ThinApp servers etc. at the remote office or what is really the best way to handle this?

ThinApp is a bit different and has their servers for the deployment of ThinApps. I think you should transfer as you ThinApps the patch... You can ask this question in the forums ThinApp.

    3. does anyone know a really good guide to set up an "office in a box" and it deployment?

I have unfortunately seen documents for internal use. However, ones I've seen are usually at least 1 usually 2 boxes 2U with necessary storage locally or on a NAS with at least Gigabit switch. Usually, I suggest at least 2 boxes depending on the load. Ideally something easy to carry and move... If there was a 2 or 4 blade blade chassis, which would be the ideal...

All licenses is managed at the Headquarters Office "in a box" being shipped to the remote desktop that is almost ready to go. A few tweaks remote and viola, you have the office. Don't forget to leave you an administrative VM on a VPN tunnel to your desktop to the remote location.

Worst case scenario involves some generic desktop computers at HQ for all applications that do not need local data.

    4. licenses for virtual desktops (VMware View) must be purchased by the local office, or by given headquarters he is managed by vCenter HQ and the fact that it is on another continent?

It's really up to you. But if it was me I would centralize management and "Chargeback" with the Agency.

  • VI on a BladeCenter S for remote offices

Hi everyone, it's a matter of design because I don't know much about BladCenter S.

After reading this article, I become curious of this technology (http://it20.info/blogs/main/archive/2008/11/14/162.aspx) because it really can solve some problems, especially in remote offices.

    My questions are:

    (1) is the redundant eth switch? Article that I linked above, it seems that it is but to read the IBM documentation looks that all EPF blades are related to bay1 only, so only one switch eth (which would make not much sense);

    (2) is the internal memory, support for vmware? Could not find information on that, nor what hw config is required to share LUNS with blades;

    (3) is it possible to have 4 network adapters and interfaces 2 sas (from FC interfaces for it matters) without developing the blade server? I can't expand the blade increases the number of cards you can add but then each blade will take twice as much to place in the chassis, which is not good in a small bladecenter as the S

I suppose to use HS21 XM blades just like I would on another chassis. Ibm documentation I found here (http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247523.html) and here (http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247682.html?Open) was very detailed, but confused about what I mentioned in my questions.

Yes, ETH that a switch can be used, but then you get only half of the network connections.  Each blade is divided between the i/o modules, so if you have expansion for the blades ethernet card, and only have 1 switch, and then you get only half of the available network adapters.

The IBM SAS HBA card is in the HCL: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php?action=search&deviceCategory=io&productId=1&keyBasic=ibm+sas+&maxDisplayRows=50&key=ibm+sas+expansion&release%5B%5D=-1&datePosted=-1&vid=&did=&svid=&ssid=

And Yes, I believe the extension ethernet 2 ports and the sas of maps extension and in a format that can fit into the PCI - X slots without the blade who need to take two slots, according to the guide.  I'm sure your IBM representative can go over this with you as well.

  • Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Server printing problems...

    Hello

We have recently installed a Server 2008 r2 remote desktop server.  Everything works well except sometimes once a user has printed a large number of documents remotely a print job fails.  The only mistake he gives may not print.

Once this problem starts they then won't even be able to print locally to a printer connected to the server.  The only way to solve the problem is to disconnect and turn it back on.

We checked to see if the spooler is running, it is not a remote printing problem, that it does not start even local print will work for this user.  We also checked to make sure that the print queue is not an uptight work.

    How we solve this problem?

  • VirtualCenter Server DBs on remote SQL Server

    Guys,

I use VirtualCenter Server with a remote server of SQL2005 DB.  I initially set up with a domain account as the owner of the db and everything was pretty much ok, except that my VirtualCenter management Services continues to stop.  I was told that the best practice is to use local sql accounts and authentication as opposed to domain accounts.  I created connections local SQL, makes them owners of DB and then recreated the system DSN names on my server of VC.  I changed the log on credentials for the VC and VC management Web services for my domain account for the Local System account.  Now when I start the service I get the "Virtualcenter Server service stopped with the error service special 2 (0x2).»  I have cheked other messages and I made sure the Vmware converter service does not work.  IIS in is not installed on this server.  I saw the messages about failure fo the local system account to log on to a remote sql server.

    So my question is:

If the VCDB abd UMDBs are on another SQL Server on the VC server do you need authentication based on the domain or local sql?  What references do service accounts must be defined on the VC Server?

    Thank you

If VC and SQL reside on a single box, a domain account is recommended. If SQL is remote, it is recommended the SQL authentication, see Installation and Configuration Guide. This has always worked for me.

As mentioned previously, VC must be installed with local administrator or service account (member of local administrators) and retain the same all along of...

  • Cannot open the component of the battery of the 3rd generation Apple TV remote.  The "cover" stripped is by using a coin to turn the cover counterclockwise. Any suggestions?

On the component of the battery of the 3rd generation Apple TV remote, the "lid" is getting stripped by using a coin to turn the cover counterclockwise. I even used a screwdriver flat head with a cloth & it will not always be open.

It is partially open, but I think there was some debris. I disabled the debris, but the "lid" is badly stripped. I stopped as I would not completely destroy the compartment cover. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem with another camera, but a very similar configuration, a round lid on a stack of pancakes about two years ago. I got to have adhesive PuTTY handy of Museum at the time.  I took enough Putty to cover the circular cover, let it sit for just a moment, or so that he could 'stick' (it's not like glue, it will come off easily). I have enough of the dough (about a 3/4 inch ball) used to create a handle and everything pushing down pretty firmly on the sealant to keep it on the cover, I did one-quarter turn and cover came out. I just took my money AppleTV 3 remote out of storage and tried this technique on her, and she seemed to cling to the coverage and helped me with the tour. My remote money is not received tap stuck like yours and the housing is in good condition. But it might be interesting to try. If you live in Irvine, California you should probably have some of this PuTTY on hand. It is usually used to prevent the fall during an earthquake of trinkets and other fragile objects of light weight. If all else fails, a new remote money is always available on the Apple Store for $19. Good luck.

  • Connect to the server only in the office

I want to know if there is a way that when I'm at my computer desktop will automatically connect in server folders, and when I'm at home it will automatically connect in server folders at home.  When I'm here every time that I also have to manually connect to the server and then when I go out to disconnect manually.  I want to if there is a way that the computer can make these connections without me manually linking every time and he knows what network I'm connected to so it only connects in the records of good server for this location.  I tried to use it as a point of connection, but I do not start my computer whenever I come home or when I get to the office.

I've got El Capitan installed and updated.

You can take a look at an application called ControlPlane (http://www.controlplaneapp.com/about/). It performs actions based on rules based on the network, etc.

  • Office locks upwards and not Windows Server 2008 R2 remote let me reconnect

I was having problems connecting to a remote system with RDP.  The server is operational for several years and is one of the 4 servers identical servers located on the same site.  Recently, one of the other servers crashed I was remoting in a long time so I had to start using this RDP server in.  Once our on-site personnel COMPUTER redirected to this NAT. port forwarding by server, I was able to connect remotely to make some changes, including the addition of a role as a remote access server VPN using the Routing and remote access Server Setup Wizard and removing the component of protection against threats Symantec Endpoint Protection network so that I can use and configure the Windows Firewall.

While working through the Routing and remote access Server Setup Wizard, my locked up and disconnected RDP session.  I was able to reconnect once on-site staff completed the wizard and restart the computer, but once I reconnected it, after a minute or 2 I was even once disconnected and could reconnect not until the server has been restarted.  I presume that add the VPN role affected my RDP access and decided to remove the VPN server role.

Now, I can't RDP on the server unless it is freshly reset, and even then it only allows me to stay connected for a few minutes before the connection is lost and I can't reconnect again until the server is restarted.  A vicious circle; power of connection after restart, only to have the connection dropped and requires a restart to reconnect again.

This server also hosts a database that client systems are able to access for a short period of time after before restarting their connection drops.

I quadruple checked the inbound Windows Firewall rules, uninstalled application anti-virus completely, same goes for as much as duty get their request for removal to ensure each piece of it has been removed, and I always have the same question.

The whole issue started when I tried to add the VPN role.  I can't uninstall and then reinstall the anti-virus repeatedly has not helped either, but as it is right now, I have a server who, shortly after the restart, is unable to communicate. not with the internet, not on the local network, not remotely.   On-site staff are trying their best to follow my troubleshooting over the phone, but he arrived at a point where I will have to find out what's wrong and provide an easy solution to remote, or make a trip to halfway around the world to try to figure it out myself (which would be EXTREMELY difficult/close to impossible right now).

    Quesitons:

    (1) why would I be able to connect to remote after the reboot and disconnected then shortly after? (Service/application causing the problem didn't start until shortly after a restart?)

    (2) why is it not only kill remote access, but access LAN and internet on the server?

    (3) what else can be verified to help diagnose and fix the problem?

I did a lot of research on the web but haven't found identical to mine problems.  Is this a new problem or a bug?  I saw information about uninstalling a patch and a seen a fix for the problems of the RDP, but who wouldn't even help LAN and access on the internet server.  This server ran local client local RDP, access to the database access and could have access to the internet for the years leading up to the recent changes and issues.

Edit: The pro I'm remote on the server is a system Win 7 Pro, and the database of customers are also Win 7 Pro.

Correction of the problem.  Turns everything by making the configuration for VPN, incorrect information has been entered in the network link, causing the network to the bomb once VPN service started.

There are several LAN ports on the server, and one of them was selected incorrectly and configured with the incorrect gateway IP address during configuration of the VPN server.  Once the misconfigured for the LAN port TCP/IP parameters have been removed, all was good again.

  • Remote Office losses periodically connection

    Hello

We have a problem where our reception computer has 4 RDP connections configured to access the other 4 desktops in the office. Connections seem to lose some kind of connection periodically settings as when trying to launch the connections that they fail. They come with the error of the three reasons that you maybe isn't able to connect. We went and tried to connect by ip, but that no longer works. We were able to get that back and work if join us computers to the domain, but it seems to work only for a short period before you have to do it again. Now another interesting thing is that we can go to one of the other desktop and connect to front desk computer but this for some reason any will not work the other way around. We tried to configure the windows firewall as well as the eset firewall that is used for Anti Virus software but nothing seems to work. The new route is something temporary but would like to try to find a permanent solution. We can remote in to some other workstations on the same network as well the computer in reception, but for some reason any that he has problems with these 4 PCs. We have also implemented all the permissions to allow access. We do not want to use a third-party remote software to do this we would like to use the software that was provided by the operating system.

    Thank you

This looks like a router/DHCP problem, you try to connect before you attempt to ping by IP address or computer name and see what happens, if ping fails while the problem in network topology or configuration, remote desktop.  It could also be a bad network card or bad cable between the router and the computer in reception.
