• Whenever I connect to my HDTV using vga, I get a BSOD, even tried with different pc tv/cable

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to read this! Yesterday that I tried to connect to an HDTV using VGA instead of someone else, worked well. Buy a vga cable today and connected to my 1080 p full hd Phillips and got a BSOD almost instantly. I tried some things and managed to do the work! Played skyrim for a little and left the laptop in sleep mode. Came, open upward and the screen stayed black, nothing I could do to get a Visual.
Now, whenever I connect the cable I get a BSOD, it works with any other laptop, excludes the cable and television.
I have updated all drivers in the list, checked my drive for errors using the good chkdsk, smart status on the disk is good, all withdrew. I know for a fact that my laptop works fine with extra monitors, we use all the time on my internship and as stated, it worked yesterday on another TV.
Features of the laptop:

ASUS n73jn

processor Intel i5 460 m
NVIDIA geforce 335 m
Windows 7 64 bit
4 GB ddr3 RAM
the HDMI port is dysfunctional, just a few flickering screens filled with black lines, that's why I try vga. My guess is the hdmi port is DOA, but did not have a hd tv up to 2 years after purchase.

Thanks for your time!

Greetings,

Joachim

Sorry, I was a little confused with the HDMI and VGA - continues to be the same advice.

Looks like you have isolated to a hardware problem. With the Intel graphics card is not posted, I have to wonder if the hardware problem is with the graphics card Intel

FWIW - we have seen a number of overheating problems with the graphics from nVidia on your model. Make sure the laptop is on a hard surface - and I would also use a filling of cooling (if possible) to ensure that the system is not overheating.

Install a new copy of Intel video drivers is probably the most important thing to do now - and ensure that this card appears in Device Manager (and check in the nVidia PhysX tab to see if it appears here - even though I'm not familiar with this program).

Try the video stress tests here: http://www.carrona.org/addldiag.html
They can show that there is a hardware problem - but a lot of this will involve what video card works at the time of the test (even once, I don't have a lot of experience to make systems to change video card).

Good luck!

PROBLEM-

My TV displays a picture of sorts however we jumpy/fragile & show three (vertical) versions of the same image on my TV. Black & white, its sometimes a offline.

I have the wires on connected TV where I got my Wired Xbox, the option on my TV to input is the component, when I turn on my laptop & the entry has the value component that I see the image on the screen & clearer, however, after logging in screen disappears & said that there is no signal. The only way I can see anything either again is by ctrl, alt & del.

If I switch to AV2 on the choice of appetizer menu on my TV, it shows the description of the jumpy/fragile image, ctrl alt del - although the picture improves slightly & is not fragile, its still very black & white & duplicated in three patrs.

Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks in advance

• Satellite A500 - 15 M: unable to connect to the TV with HDMI

Hello

I have a Satellite A500 - 15M. I recently tried to connect to my TV so I could watch certain shows online on my Hannspree Xv HD ready TV.
The HDMI out does any record on the TV - the TV displays a message "not supported" and remains off (as if there is no signal) - display settings on the PC it does not recognize the TV... actually it [Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel] indicates that the TV/monitor settings are not supported.

But I can connect via the VGA output - although I have to delete the display settings to 1024 x 768 to show on TV. In addition the display on the TV then is mainly pink and red, even if my pc display peak is most often blue. -start of the Toshiba screen displays on the TV, without any problems and one or twice the login screen was displayed too much, but then sometimes it isn't...
I know that's not the VGA cable as I can connect to the TV with it on netbook advent my wife without any problem.
Are there drivers, I need to update / download? Or I need to change the settings?
How can I get my screen on my TV?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello

First, you must connect the two machines (laptop and TV via HDMI) when the two devices are turned off. After turn on the TV and the laptop.

You must choose the HDMI on TV channel and should then use the FN + F5 key combination to switch the video output to the TV.

If this does not help, try updating the graphics card driver.
It seems that your laptop supports the Intel graphics chip. Therefore, you can see the Intel page for new drivers.

Welcome them

• Connect external monitor via the VGA port > > BSOD

Hi all

I have a laptop Acer Aspire V3-772 and I had an (obvious) problem. When I connect an externel to my VGA port my laptop freezes. After that I restarted my laptop (still connected to the monitor via the VGA input) I get the following BSOD:

video_tdr_failure igdkmd64.sys

This error I've read on the internet has nothing to do with the video card intel. On this laptop, there intel 4600 internal videocard. There is also a second video card which is geforce gtx 760 m.

I updated my system completely and everything works fine. Except the VGA port.

I tested my HDMI port that works correctly, open the same screen/monitor connected via the VGA input it freezes / BSOD.

One give me advice on what could be the cause?

is this hardware or software really? I think that the software. In any case I'll try to install the older version of the video card driver intel. I'll post if it works.

I would like to have some advice on this issue.

Thank you!

Thanks for your reply. I tried already. HDMI works very well but even VGA displayport monitor (so double male vga cable) causes system hang still > BSOD.

I did a factory reset. Same result.

Conclusion... Its a hardware problem.
I'll contact support so they can pick up my laptop for repair.
I lost my weekend for this problem.

I'll change this topic as resolved since it's associated mobo (intel grappics card).

• Cannot get the resolution of 2560 x 1600 Dell U3011 connected to M4600 laptop with NVidia

My setup:- Dell U3011 30'' IPS monitor- Dell M4600 Laptop with NVidia Quadro 1000M - Simple E-Port replicator model PR03X- OS: Ubuntu 12.10, kernel 3.5.0-21, 64-bit (I know it is not supported officially, RHEL is, so I guess there should be a way of getting it work)- Drivers: NVidia proprietary drivers 304.48 (also tried with 304.60)- X.org version: 1.13

According to the specs the monitor should be capable of doing 2560x1600 through DVI-D or DisplayPort.

The problem is: I can't get it to work with DisplayPort even if directly plugged to the laptop. The Nvidia driver seem to detect DP properly, although it doesn't detect the monitor. It only detects the laptop LCD display. If I go to Nvidia Settings, there is no eternal monitor listed.

What I tried and what did not work:

• Turning off the optimus in the Bios
• connection of the monitor first, then reboot,
• start first then connect the monitor
• by pressing Fn + F8 several times
• go to Nvidia settings and press "Detect displays" - the monitor is off "sleep mode" for a certain time but past sleeping within a few seconds later, nvidia does not detect
• installation of different versions of nvidia drivers (the most recent, I tried was 304.60
• completely uninstall the Bumblebee (optimus is disabled in the bios though)
• using the open-source drivers again (they don't seem to not work at all, even for the computer screen)
• Delete entirely xorg.conf file

What works "partially":

• Connect the monitor using the VGA cable. So I'm able to get resolution of 2048 x 1240, but the picture quality is bad, it's blurred. Not a solution, really. In this context the NVidia driver detects the monitor as U3011 correctly.
• Connect the monitor using DVI - D (dual link) cable through the dock station. In this context the NVidia driver detects the monitor as U3011 correctly, TwinView works very well.
However, I get only 1600 x 1200 resolution as the highest option (not even the 1920 x 1200 which is supposed to work with DVI single-link).
May be that the docking station does not support DVI dual link?
The connector on the back of it is dual-link for sure, but perhaps there is no connection of double bond between the laptop and the dock?
Unfortunately, the laptop has a DVI - D, only HDMI, VGA and DP connector, so I can't try a direct connection.
Or maybe the driver is misdetecting dual-link as a single link connection, and in fact, it might be possible to force it to use the pixel dual-link clock?
What to try next? Please help, because so far my new U3011 is useless... :(

OK, so finally I thought, after reading a thread on some Dell 27 "monitor problems DisplayPort (really scary thread, shame on you, Dell).

The solution was to turn off the monitor, * unplug it from power * and leave it in that State for some time. Now, it works fine, if connected both via the docking station as well as directly. Also, there is no problem with going back to suspend / sleep.

• The Apple Magic Keyboard can operate without bluetooth when connected to an iPad with the lightning to the USB camera adapter?

The Apple Magic Keyboard can operate without bluetooth when connected to an iPad with the lightning to the USB camera adapter?

I love the Apple Magic Keyboard to be very light (I want it with me everywhere). I also like that I can choose the layout of the keyboard I want (Canadian multilingual), which is not available on any keyboard for any brand, with the exception of Apple iPad (and I did a ton of research). I have problems with the old model of keyboard Apple Wireless because of the Bluetooth connection: I often have trouble connecting. I want a reliable keyboard. I don't like having to plug the keyboard on the iPad, and I think that a wired keyboard can more reliable and safer than a wireless keyboard. And a wired keyboard never had battery problems.

I read that the Apple Magic Keyboard can work wired with a Mac without bluetooth. And I read that some USB keyboards work with lightning to the USB camera adapter. There are several keyboards with a cable (Belkin or Logitech) lightning, but none with the available Canadian multilingual.

So, if I buy a magical keyboard Apple and a Flash to the USB adapter of the camera, according to my needs, I'll be satisfied or I'm going to be disappointed?

A better solution would be to have a male-male cable lightning between the keyboard and the iPad, but I don't find any of these products anywhere.

Thank you.

It will not work. And where did you read that the keyboard works wired with a Mac?
