Connect Playbook

Can I use the same keys to sign a Playbook application or should I get a new?

No, BlackBerry Tablet OS and BlackBerry Smartphone applications are signed with different keys.  You can ask them for free here: https://www.blackberry.com/SignedKeys/

I'm trying to deploy my signed. BAR asks my BlackBerry PlayBook, but whenever I try, I get this error odd result::failure-103

Here are the steps that I did:

    After that, all right.

Finally, I push the file to my PlayBook

I can see the application installed in the PlayBook, but when I try to pen I get a window asking me to approve certain permissions. I accept and then I see a black window and the application closes itself. She does this all the time.

I have installed jdk Oracle version 1.6.0_33 and I use Ubuntu 12.10. That shouldn't matter however, as according to the tool my. BAR is signed and without errors.

Any ideas why does not? I would not use Eclipse because with the last update ADT plugin for BlackBerry is broken and does not not even under windows.

    Thanks for the help.

Yes! you were right! It seems that you must sign the. APK before you pack up and send to your playbook for installation. I followed these steps and it worked:

Navigate to your folder root of android project and build your project for immediate release

    ant clean
    and release

    Connect to your Playbook:

./blackberry-connect [playbook IP] -password [playbook password] -sshPublicKey [key].pub

Sign your APK with your keys:

jarsigner -verbose -sigalg MD5withRSA -digestalg SHA1 -keystore [your key].kestore [your app name].apk [alias]

    --verify your signed apk

    jarsigner -verify bin/NoteList-release-unsigned.apk

If it passes, you can now create the file of the bar

./apk2bar [path to your APK folder] [path to android dsk folder] -t [path to output folder] -rv

    Sign the file BAR

./blackberry-signer -verbose -cskpass [password] -keystore [path to your certificate].p12 -storepass [certificate password] [path to your BAR file] RDK author

-- to verify the signed BAR
./blackberry-signer -verify -verbose [path to your BAR file]

And finally sending to your Playbook

./blackberry-deploy -installApp -device [playbook IP] -package [path to your BAR file] -password [playbook password]

I tried these steps using Ubuntu 12.10 and beta CommandLineTools_1.3. Don't forget to turn the development WE we you playbook and turn on SSH access so you can use blackberry connect. In addition, when you download the command line tools you must give approval to run for all scripts.

Hope that this helps some development on Ubuntu, until the BlackBerry fixes the plugin for eclipse which is broken with the last tools rev 21 ADT.

    Happy coding!

  • Connection failure when you try to download the executable file for playbook

    Hi all.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong here.

I imported the project example of falling blocks Momentics (2.1.0 on XP SP3) and downloaded a debugging token.

Autodiscover found the Playbook (OS 2.1.0.1088) connected via USB.

In the Project Explorer, I "169.254.0.1 (unrelated)" and "FallingBlocksMakefile".

If I 169.254.0.1 right click and choose 'Tools BlackBerry'-> 'Connect', I get a message box that says:

    Connection Failed: Connection Refused: connect

    Reason

    Connection Failed: Connection Refused: connect

I can ping 169.254.0.1 prompt back.

I'm kinda stuck - can someone point me in the right direction please.

    Thank you

    Gary.

Most firewalls have a way to ALLOW all traffic, inside and out, to a certain IP address.  See if you can not set the ip address to be free.

  • Connectivity options between two Playbooks?

What are the options of connectivity between two Playbooks?

-What is BT pairing between possible?

-I guess if they are on the same subnet, you should be able to speak directly on Wifi?

You should definitely be able to talk directly between two PBs on the same wireless subnet.  Note that at least in the AIR, UDP is not supported, then you are probably limited to the protocols built on TCP, for now.  Find the other device is your main problem, but would work at the entrance of the user of an IP address, or something like QR codes.

I don't think we will have any BT support initially, but which should eventually be possible somehow.

We see interconnectivity NFC at some point, which would allow some ways ordained to share things.

In some simple cases, you can use the camera and a QR code, although I do not think THAT RIM has indicated any support in the short term for a barcode API so this would probably involve some third-party libraries.

If you wanted to get complicated, you can use the audio output on one and the MIC on the other.  Which would also be you to make a "show" mode of communication, although humans nearby could get mad.  (Probably the QR code approach allows a limited form of 'broadcast' as well).

I think that exhausts my supply of ideas for the moment.

  • Eception blackBerry smartphones. Exception when connected to the playbook in presenter view

I have the BlackBerry Curve 8520, device Os 5.0 bundle 1682, running with bridge blackberry 2.0.0.25. I'm able to go to connect with my playbook successfully.  However, when I use the remote in presenter mode, I get error exception uncaught after some time of work successful.

    Hello!

Well Yes, there is a problem with OS5 users to the bridge with 2.0.0.25 version.

But, according to my personal experience, I recommend you to remove the battery and re put back in order to restart your BalckBerry Curve 8520 and also restart your BalckBerry PlayBook as well.

Go to Bluetooth on your PlayBook and remove existing BlackBerry Curve device ahead of him.

Now try to connect through bridge by following the usual steps, you know I guess.

I hope that solves your problem!

If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a 'Solution' that other advisors invest it times on this Message more.

    2. on the screen, choose the network from the context menu
    3. Notes the IPv4 address under the heading USB (must begin with 169);
    4 mac Finder, menu go to, select Connect to server;
    5. Enter smb://169. and the rest of the IP address found in step 3 and press return;
    6. open a Finder window, and you should see the IP address under the heading of shared devices. Double-click the IP address and you should then see two files in the directory of your PlayBook.

  • How are BlackBerry Smartphones you supposed to connect a Playbook to a projector...

I intend to use my Playbook as a presentation tool (instead of carting around a meeting room of the laptop to the meeting room), but I can't find a reliable way to plug the HDMI mini to a standard VGA projector.

From my experience, meeting rooms usually have an installed projector and a VGA cable, ready to be plugged into a laptop.  What I need is a cable to the converted Mini HDMI to VGA (probably not a likely scenario), or Mini HDMI to HDMI (easy to find) then and adapter that converts HDMI to female VGA (like the one on your computer)... has anyone seen or used such a set?

I have HD quality, so I'm not worried about the loss of signal.

    Thank you, Rob

Hi all - I have struggled with the same question and learned that you need a decoder turned to go digital in the Playbook HDMI signal to an analog signal as VGA connected to a projector. Personally, I can attest that the converter works great for slide shows, videos, etc., connected to a projector Epson presenter view:

  • Unable to connect with the BlackBerry PlayBook

Dear Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro community

I got this for a long time blackberry playbook and if I installed this app, I'd be able to get into my chat room class study.

I have these sessions two times during any month three of the modules do, so I don't know not working class sessions, and I thought that I would be able to continue studying if am not at home and on the road.

I need to know if your application always supports the BlackBerry PlayBook OS: 2.1.0.1917, I got your request of BlackBerry Apps World.

The class sessions are held with Resource Development International Ltd (RDI Ltd), which is working with Edexcel and Pearson Education.

I hope that we can have this problem.

    Yours sincerely

    Mobile Connect 9.3 is:

    Mobile

    • Supported by Apple devices: iPhone 5, iPhone 5, iPhone 4, iPad with Retina display, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini and iPod touch (4th & 5th generations)
    • Apple OS summary versions of supported: iOS 6 and higher
    • Supported by Android devices: Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Samsung Galaxy S3 & S4, Nexus 7 Tablet
    • Android OS summary supported versions: 2.3.4 and superior

The last update the BB app got was 1.7.5. The current version of the mobile Connect application is 2.2. The output of 2.1 was a note that the Blackberry is platform is no longer supported (Page 2 here). This is reflected in the Connect tech specs page, which is where I got the mobile platforms supported above. In my view, the answer is at the end of the account, you will need to use an Apple or Android mobile device, or your computer.

  • PlayBook storage and connectivity options

I had a few qns on storage and connectivity options:

    1. nobody said.  You could probably guess, after understand how the BONE back in the Simulator, as well as an estimate of 'normal' size app time 10-20 that apps could be preloaded.  I hope that you will be able to remove some of the preinstalled too stuff.

    2. it is extremely unlikely that the original will have the capacity to any host, as they more or less indicated that it will act as a slave only, at the beginning.  Later, they suggested that it is actually USB OTG (On The Go) that would use as a host, but on the only clue that Lazaridis, has been saying that they have the ability (read "could, if never set free us") to support Ethernet-over-USB.

    3. jump who

    4. I guess no..  One positive aspect of the statements on the issue have been in the 5th webcast, but I still think that they have kept their options open and these statements are not official.  Because they are good in the production of material and still did not mention of the GPS in the marketing of the statements or plug in anywhere, I tend to think that he has been left out.  Saddens me... but at least this way I'll be pleasantly surprised if it stops there, rather disappointed.  I'm pretty sure that they have a task they could put a GPS module, so maybe that will be in a later model but not the first... just a guess on my part.

Just updated my android app and it passed verification.  I will install on my PlayBook, and it won't start.

The application works on the new 2.0 PlayBook Simulator very well, but when I go to install on the current device, it installs, but will not start.

I tried without success (all these I tried both USB and WiFi connection) the following:

    • Restart the PlayBook after the 2.0 update (several times)
    • Signature of the bar and the deployment using command-line tools
    • Do not sign the bar and deployment via command line tools (after configuring Debug token)
    • Deployment by using the new eclipse plugin - is to expire, I have even increased the time-out value of 60 seconds and much more), it gets stuck on "Launch BlackBerry Android Runtime."... ", then a message that says" failed to connect ├a 192.168.1.139 to BAD! »

Also, I'm under Mac OSX Lion and v2.0.0.3778 PlayBook.
