Connect the airport to the hub of sky - sharing wireless problems

I just bought an Airport Extreme and try to connect it to my sky network hub (q) existing.

I had it put in place, with it connected via ethernet to my hub of heaven.

I have 2 external hard drives connected to the Airport Extreme and was a time machine back to one of the attached disks.  That everything worked very well, wait for the back up has been extremely slow (she had only managed 30 GB in 3 hours, and to do a TB).  I realized that the airport had created a wifi network of its own, and I was wondering if it was interfering with my main one sky, so I turned off the wifi at the airport.  Now I can not connect readers to share.  Utility can see them, but on my macbook, when I click on to connect to the server from the airport, it does not connect.

Should it?  I know I shouldn't need to run 2 wifi networks if my Airport Extreme is connected to my router from Sky via ethernet?  With gratitude any help appreciated!

Catherine

When it is connected to the hub Sky by Ethernet, your AirPort Extreme should be reconfigured as a bridge.

To do this, use the AirPort Utility, as follows:

  • Run the AirPort Utility.
  • Select the extreme and then, select change.
  • Click the network tab.
  • Change the router Mode to: Off (Bridge Mode).
  • Click on update and allow the base station restart.

  • After the upgrade to Windows 7 wireless problem

    Hello

I just upgraded my G70-460US to Windows 7 and everything was going smoothly until I realized that the integrated wireless LAN does not connect to my router. Whenever I try to connect, I get the message "Windows could not connect to . It's weird because everything works fine; Device Manager shows no problems, works of LAN cable, I can turn the WLAN with the button next to the power, I can see the list of available networks and so on. What is even more strange is that my router is currently without WPA or WEP, and again, I get the same message "Windows was unable to...» ».

    So far I have tried:

-Uninstall the driver for Atheros AR5009, reboot, and reinstall

-Support of Windows Update to get the latest drivers

-Check if my router (Microsoft MN - 700) is supported by Windows 7, which it does not match the Microsoft Win 7 Compatibility Center

-Check if my router is not broken (can connect wireless to my other computer so it is not broken)

-Reset the router to the factory settings

-Affecting the security of WPA - PSK, WEP network and secure (message all went the same "Windows was unable to...") »)

    -Uninstall HP Wireless Assistant

It is an upgrade from Vista Home Premium to 7 Home Premium via the disks to upgrade HP G70-460US. I think there is a problem with the autoconfiguration WLAN service, but I'm not expert enough to dig in. All advice is appreciated.

    Thank you

Wow, amazing... this topic saved my day. The new driver to the link did the trick.

I don't know why HP is not register this driver on their G70-460US page. The disc 'Upgrade HP Manager' provided with the Windows 7 upgrade disk should have updated all the drivers, but that doesn't seem to be for my case.

In any case, thanks to ken2010 and Daniel_Potyrala.

  • Connect the BT Home Hub 5 to Time Capsule

Hello... I tried this search and became simply confused with how to proceed, or if it is still possible!

I would like to time Capsule to back up an iMac and a MacBook Pro using Time Machine.  However, if possible, I would like to distribute my wifi signal of BT, as I believe that she will do better than the Home Hub itself...?  If this isn't the case, it would be good to know as well.

If he will distribute the signal better... How can I do this?

    1. Lampholders use on the home page of Hub and TC?
    2. What I have to put in place the TC in bridge mode... If yes how?
    3. I have to turn off the wifi on the hub of the House?
    4. Must the TC be put in place to create a new network?

Thank you in advance for the advice/help!

1 use the WAN port on the TC and any port LAN on the HH5 to establish the connection.

NOTE: at least until what you complete installation... Then, you can use any port on the TC. Sometimes a port LAN on the TC will then work better.

    2. Yes, you need the TC in bridge.

When you run the utility Setup Assistant airport... and you have configured the wiring as shown in 1. Normally, it will automatically detect the setup and choose of bridge. If this isn't the case you can simply change the end of the process.

You are more disturbing... Let it Setup to give it a try and if it does not post again.

3.4, the default TC will always create a wireless network that is correct. Do not turn off Wi - Fi in the HH5, but you can if you wish... It is totally up to you... There is nothing wrong with the two manage the wireless network... you can even use the same name and same security setting and password on both and let the customer who join. (strongest signal) This is called roaming... normally, it is better for the TC to have a separation from the HH5... about 1 M would be nice... Even better locate the TC close to where it is needed.

  • Connect the Airport Extreme via Powerlink to the cable Modem

I have problems with wifi at home as the location where the my cable modem is far from ideal. I currently connected to an Airport Extreme, which works like the router (the cable modem has the router function disabled). Attached to the AE is also a powerlink and I have an Airport Express connected to the powerlink, which has its own network.

I was wondering if it would make sense to connect the powerlink directly to the cable modem and then put my Airport Extreme, a more central location in my home connected via Powerlink and there accumulate this way, rather than the current configuration.

I'm getting a second Airport Extreme soon as well and I have several express in my house, but the problem is that my wifi is not fast at all.

    Powerlink adapters are Devolo 600 & 1200.

    Thank you

I was wondering if it would make sense to connect the powerlink directly to the cable modem and then put my Airport Extreme, a more central location in my home connected via Powerlink and there accumulate this way, rather than the current configuration.

It's always a good idea to place the 'main' AirPort router as close as possible of the area where most of the wireless devices should be used in this sense, your idea is a good thing... and in theory at least. ... .the powerline adapters allow you to do.

However, in practice... you won't really know how well... or even if... this type of installation will work until you try you. The reason for this is there is so many different things that can affect the performance of a type of current line of the installation program.

If you have time, there is certainly no harm in trying this type of configuration.  Post your results if you decide to try it.

  • How to connect the Airport express as an Extender for airport extreme to El Capitan

I have a model extreme A1521 airport and a model express airport A1392 and upgraded my OS to El Capitan. I want to use the express as an Extender for the extreme because my old House is long and has thick walls. My problem is that Airport utility will not 'see' the express, regardless of its proximity to the main router (extreme). I tried to move and reset.

Of course, as soon as I get the utility to see, I need instructions on how to configure the express as a booster for my extreme.

    Any ideas?

Unplug the Express and put it in the same room as the AirPort Extreme.

Put power on the Express for a few minutes, then hold down the reset button on the back of the Express for 7 to 8 seconds and release.

Allow a minute for the Express to restart

Click the WiFI icon at the top of the screen of the Mac

Look for an announcement of the new AirPort base station

Click directly on the AirPort Express Terminal

When you click on AirPort Express, the "Wizard" will open and take a few seconds to analyze things, and then see a screen that looks like the figure below, except that you can see your cameras.

Type a short and simple name that you want to call the Express

    Click next

The installation wizard will take care of everything for you

When you see the message Setup is complete, unplug the Express and move to halfway between the AirPort Extreme and the area of the House that needs more coverage of wireless signal

Turn on the Express and you're all set

Important note... the Express to expand the quality of the signal it receives. About half of the potential speed on the entire nextwork is lost when you extend using a wireless connection between the airports.

It would be much better if you could connect the Express to the extreme by using wired Ethernet wired, permanent, since there is no loss of signal via the Ethernet cable and there is always a lot of loss of signal through the air, the (thick walls especially) walls, ceilings, etc.

    All filters are mounted?

A friend has lost its internet connection and the cause was a sky engineer do more fit a filter. The second engineer of the sky could not understand why a filter was not mounted because it is an easy and is a standard procedure when installing sky! Connection failed after using a Service online store of sky and, possibly, the link between the two has been achieved.

Talk to Sky support as they should solve the problem!

This link shows what looks like a filter

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/micro-filter-broadband-ADSL-router/DP/B000NPA53Y

Once you got all mounted filters, you may have to reset the router and sky should help with that.

  • Attempt to connect to the Hub of environment management

    Hello
in tools 8.50 on Win 2003 Server; I'm configuration BPSAA.
In the management environment for the server, tab I gave Localhost and port I gave 5283 (given file configuration.properties).
    And StartAgent.bat is running:
    Sending pulse from 'com.peoplesoft.emf.peer:id=5'
    Sending pulse from 'com.peoplesoft.emf.peer:id=5'
    Sending pulse from 'com.peoplesoft.emf.peer:id=5'
    Sending pulse from 'com.peoplesoft.emf.peer:id=5'
    When I use port 80 it's OK
    Ping Environment Management Hub
    Pinging localhost OK
    Pinging localhost OK
    Pinging localhost OK
    Packets: Sent = 3, Received = 3, Lost = 0
But when I press on the Ping button, it remains on the attempt to connect to the Hub of management environment and that it will not forward.
    Any idea?

    Thank you.

The Port number is the port number that your PIA (which the hub EM belongs) is running on. By default, it is 80 unless you specified something else when you generated the field. 5283 is used for default agent port, not the HUB which is what you are trying to ping, so 80 works which is not a problem as long as you have found ok returned when ping.

  • How can I connect my Airport time capsule to the nbn optus

I just got the NBN Optus connected and time capsule doesn't seem to work, can anyone advice on how to connect. I connected to a modem (Sagem Fast 38640op) with cable but the mac does not expect a return to the top

You should do a full factory reset on the TC...

Repeat the installation... and it should work correctly in bridge and create a wireless network.

The Sagemcom really poor wireless but you can leave it on... use it for your network wireless of comments.

This is my normal configuration guide... but there are a few specific pieces to network problems with the operating system later as Yosemite or El Capo.

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    The installer the TC.

And then redo the configuration of the computer with the Mavericks - Yosemite - ElCapo. (MYELCAP)

    1. the use of very short names... NO APPLE RECOMMENDED names. Without the space and pure alphanumeric characters.

for example TCgen5 for the base station and the name of the TCwifi wireless.

If the problem is using wireless TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as it also seems to help stop the nonsense. But it can be tried in the second round. IE, plan on a first and second series of changes to fix this... If all goes well... I note other steps can you tour2.

    2. use all passwords also consistent with 1. but maybe a little longer. IE 8 and 20 characters of mixed cases and numbers... no alphanumeric non-caracteres.

    3. If the TC is router, you can ignore this point. It is only a problem when the TC is bridged.

If ensure that the TC is always the same IP address... you will need to do this on the main router using a dhcp reservation... or a bit more complex setup by using the static IP address in the TC. But it's important for deriving from intellectual property in all directions when MYELCAP do not remember his name for 5 min after a reboot done for poor network management.

    4. check that your share on the computer name does not change... Make sure that it is also in line with the above... short without space and pure alphanumeric... but this change will mess up your TM backup... so be prepared to make a new, full backup. Sorry... keep this one for the second round, if you want to avoid a new backup.

5 attach the TC disc into the computer manually.

In Finder, go, connect to the server in the main menu,

Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever ip of TC is that you made static. It's a default router 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with it unless you know what you're doing).

You can use the name... SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your name of TC... local is the default domain of the TC and does not change.

However the names are not so easy as... the IP address nor reliable. They are not at least not in Yosemite. The field can also be a problem if you are not clogged or wireless directly to the Treasury Board.

    6. ensure that IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open network, wireless and Advanced preferences / TCP/IP... and the difficulty of IPv6. link-local only. Do the same for the ethernet if you use it.

It is a lot more jiggery pokery, you can try, but the above is a good start... If you still find not reliable... don't be surprised.

You may need to do more work on the computer itself. for example, to reset the NVRAM/PRAM/SMC... helped some people. A clean installation of the operating system is also useful if you update installed.

  • Once I connect the base station through ethernet express to extend my network, I do then disconnect it and move it where I need strength signal more?

I need to extend my Airport extreme signal upstairs to dead zones.  I bought an Airport Express and it connected via ethernet and implemented.  Now that it's set up, I unplug the ethernet cable and take the extreme in an area on the floor where I have a problem?

No, it's now the wrong configuration.

Back at the factory. Power off... Hold Reset... Turn on again and the keep held in reset for 10 seconds.

Redo the express installation... it will automatically extend wireless placing him in the same room as the extreme with power on... No ethernet.

Once it's Setup move the Express where it better covers the floor... it won't be on the floor... the express should get good signal... is the worst place to put L'Express is right next to the device is bad signal... because guess what... the express can is no better. At halfway, not midway distance but to halfway in terms of wireless signal...

Often difficult to find such a place if your level is the concrete floor... running can help some adapters homeplug ethernet or use around obstacles.

  • Portege R500: unable to connect the remote DVI monitor via Dynadock

    Hello

I just connected Dynadock (DVI) with my Portege R500. The cell would be supported - according to Toshiba - but my experience confirms that Dynadock is not able to access the DVI ports. This implies, that Dynadock is nothing more than the USB HUB.

My setup: Vista 32 company b (CZE edition), the latest patches, Toshiba R500.

Software: latest dynadock software 2.3 c.

Symptom: I can't connect to the remote DVI monitor via the dynadock, there are only two external panels with 800 x 600, but Vista does not allow me to choose.

More information: software Dynadock requires to run without Microsoft Defender, otherwise it blocks the service: DisplayLinkService; file:C:\Program Files\DisplayLink base Software\DisplayLinkService.exe
If you turn off the MSDef, the "error 2738" message appears when you connect the dynadock and when Vista tries to install a missing drivers for you.
Yes, I know the VBS question and the problem is not caused by VisualBasic - VBS "Hello World" runs.

If you think always, Toshiba Dynadock is compatible with Toshiba R500, then press Fn + F5 and look at your logs and you should find something like:
In English: igfxext.exe throws an exception 0xc000000d, offset 0x0000f9f8.

I look forward to the comments, advice etc. If you are able to transmit this bug report to a responsible engineer, do please.

    Hello Leo

As far as I know, Toshiba has not designed for laptops models own only Dynadock and it can be used on every laptop or fixed. Because of this, I think that this statement about model of care is not so important for this problem.

Toshiba provides devices and software. To connect using the USB port, and these ports must each computer or laptop. I hope that you have installed the software by following the on-screen instructions (device of should not be connected to the start-up of the plant).

Is your Portege docked the host or you have connected Dynadock directly in Portege s USB port?
