Unable to remote connect to another computer on the network home
Greetings,
I have a Windows 7 desktop computer and a laptop Windows Vista Edition full. I am able to connect using the program of remote connection to the laptop from the desktop, but not the laptop on the desk. I get
an error that says "Remote Desktop disconnected' and inside the box, he says" this computer can't remote not connect "and communicate with the administrator, me.
I turn off the Norton firewall on the desktop and no luck. I typed the IP address and the name of the desktop computer. Both get the same answer. I ping the desktop from the laptop.
Any suggestions?
1. Click Start, right-click computer and click Properties.
2. in the left pane, click Remote settings.
3. in the System Properties window, click use remotely.
4. make sure that the following settings are applied.
a. allow for Assistance connections to this computer remotely.
b. the remote desktop section, select "allow the connection of computers running any version of remote desktop (less safe).
5. apply the settings.
6. restart the computer and try to connect to the remote computer.

Writes a text file from a network computer to another computer on the network.
It is possible to write a text file from a computer on the network to another computer on the network through labview without using FTP?
Hi bebo_lm,
It depends on how they are connected. If you have a 'normal' access to the pc and you can write on a hard drive of the other computer, you can use the writing functions of files or the copy of the file. If they are not connected like this, then you need another service. Why you do not use FTP?

Error message "another computer on the network has the same IP address as this computer. Contact you network administrator for help resolving this issue. More details are available in the Windows system event log"
Does anyone have a simple way (for a dummy) to solve this. If I disconnect my wireless router and laptop and turn the two again this sorts the problem temporarily, but it does not provide a definitive solution. I use a new laptop and my old one has been scrapped, so I do not know whence this 'conflict '. My old laptop had Windows XP operating system and my new Windows 7. I hope that someone can provide a solution to this annoying problem.
Hi Figgerty,
have you tried these steps?

original title: limit incoming connections
I want to restrict the number of connections to my pc for an incoming connection at a time. I have several users that connect to my computer, using the same user name & password. If someone tries to open a session, they fall out of someone who is already connected, without notice. the only solution I can think of is to limit the number of incoming connections to one.

Hello
My OS is Windows 7 Professional. I have configured windows backup back up some of my files on a network share on a daily basis. There are people other than me who have administrator privileges on the computer on the network where my backup is stored. My problem is to password protect the share network folder as windows backup on it my computer can be done automatically. The computer where the backup is stored is a machine to windows server 2008.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Run the task as a backup operator, add yourself as a member of the backup operators group. You can do this with the console "Users and groups", to open the console type lusrmgr.msc in the box run from the start menu.

zero or change username & password for a connection to another computer on the local network?
When you open the network, and see you computers and or network for the Working Group action, well, I entered accidentally the wrong username / password for the computer, and I can't seem to change the username-password and or reset it.
On the local network, I have a linux machine using samba, all permissions are correct, since the box vista * can * connect just fine and have access to everything which, however, on the vista box, I checked still remember the name of user and password, and now I can't change it on another account, I need to take it.
I have searched for hours and I can't seem to find the answer.
I tried to disable the account on the linux side and this does not, however, so, he says: "access denied", with no way to enter a new username / password!
Anyone has an idea on how to solve this problem?
Finally found the answer.
In the cmd prompt, (Administrator rights), making control userpasswords2, and then tap the Advanced tab and finally, the button manage passwords.

How can I connect to another computer in your network? to share photos, music and videos

Hello
1. are you using cable or wireless network?
2 are all computers that are running Windows 7 on the network?
What version of the operating system Windows am I running?
No, Windows does not let you to set passwords that limit access to shared folders. However, if you are not on a domain, you can limit network access to the Public folder by turning password protected sharing or disable. This allows only people with a user account and the password for your computer to access the Public folder over the network.
Whether you are on a domain or not, you can limit access to other folders by choosing to share only with specific people, grant share permissions. Permissions can be granted to an individual or a group of users on the same network, allowing them to access your shared folders. You can also set the level of access, allowing people to just open shared files, or also to change, create, or delete. For more information, see

to connect to another computer in the same room
How can I connect to the computer in the same room, I have broadband and use an adapter to run two computers. I want to be able to see what's been done on the other computer
Hello
The easiest way is with a crossover cable - a special wire to connect the two systems.
You can get one at your local computer store - they are not expensive. You can also configure an ad - hoc network that looks to use the cable above in that it
only connects the two machines directly however by wireless.Do you already use a router? If so you can network through it.
====================================
You can set up a wired or wireless network.

I have checked the computer name, sharing, turned off the firewall. Still can't find the question.
I've corrected in fact accidentally the problem today. I uninstalled a Malware program and tada!, the other pc on the network were immediately able to access the XP pc. The 'good' pc was always able to access internet, router, network between them. The only problem we had was the 'bad' pc was able to connect at all, but the 'good' pc were unable to connect to the computer of 'bad '.

error message says "another computer on the network has the same IP address.
can interfere with my internet connection. How can I fix this (plain English please. "I'm not a COMPUTER expert.)
This means that you have two devices with the same IP address on your network. It simply means that two machines are configured with the same IP address (you have a PS3, XBox360, another computer/laptop?).
Each device needs a unique IP address works properly on a network. A reboot will usually solve the problem, unless both devices have their IP address a static address.
Here's how you check/change it (Windows XP):
1. click on START > network and Internet > network connections.
2. double-click on your connection LAN or Internet.
3. click on properties.
4. click on the general tab.
5. Select Protocol Internet (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
6. click on the general tab.
7. select Obtain IP address automatically and DNS server automatically get an address.
8 OK on all windows and when you are back on the desktop, restart your system. In addition, the Fund this site for more information!
