Connect to ASM instance problem
HelloI installed RAC (I use Oracle11gR2 my OS is Linux) and I configured the DSO as my storage
My problem is in the connection to the ASM instance by sqlplus
When I run "srvctl status asm" it shows me that the ASM is running on both nodes of my
In node1 'asm_pmon_ + ASM1' process is running
I do these operations for you connect to the instance of the ASM1
1-export ORACLE_HOME = $grid_home
2 - export ORACLE_SID = + ASM1
3 sqlplus/nolog
SQL > connect sys as sysasm
Enter the password:
Connect to an idle instance
I don't know why he connects to the ASM1 instance while it is up, do you know what is the problem?
Thank you
Hello buddy,
Check if in your variable PATH is the full path to the Oracle Home as /oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/bin or $ORACLE_HOME/bin. Another problem might by the $grid_home not configured in your session.
In your case by using the GR 11, 2 grid infrastructure, regardless of where sqlplus executable is called.
Do the same thing... the steps you made are correct...
1-export ORACLE_HOME = $grid_home
2 - export ORACLE_SID = + ASM1
* 3-$ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus /nolog *.
SQL > connect sys as sysasm
I hope that helps!
See you soon,.

Hello
Using the last version of the Console 12.1.0.4 cloud. I discovered a RAC cluster consisting of two nodes.
And if I "try access the Cloud Console ASM instances will fail with this error:"
IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection
The connection descriptor has been
(DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=rac1-vip.localdomain)
(PORT = 1522))) ((CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = + ASM1) (INSTANCE_NAME = + ASM1 (SERVER = DEDICATED))(UR=A)))
My env is:
Console of clouds on: release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.6 (Santiago)
Database Rac: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago)
Someone knows how to solve this problem?
Thank you very much!
Arturo
(1) what is the user id you are using OEM fior?
The user id should have Sysdba and should not be in the role SYSASM.
(2) in order to check your port
In server, in the gate of the House, listener, lsnrctl status--> Verify asm instance listed on your listening port.
Summary of endpoints listening...
(Check that the PORT and IP information is correct)
Instance '+ ASM1' READY State, has 1 operation for this service...
(3) in addition, connect to asm and check the connection
Show u local_listener and entered into OEM parameter details are correct.
(4) OEM, I think you add Cluster_ASM.
Oracle_home_path--> you're grid House
username--> with sysdbarole
--> Sysdba role
Cluster_name--> $GRID_HOME/bin/cemutlo - n
Service name--> + ASM
ADD
NAME: INSTANCENAME
-Home: HOST1
listener_HOST-->< show="" parameter="" local_listener=""> > exit
PORT-->
SID- + ASM1

Problem setting up ASM instance
Hello
Successfully, I installed the clusterware and database and installed patchet 10.2.0.2 on node 2 CARS (new installation).
I tried to configure ASM using DBCA but I get this message that makes no sense because it is a RAC:
«The ASM instance configured on the node local ia s one-time ASM.» To manage this instance as a single ASM instance, restart DBCA Wizard and select the option of one-time database. To manage this instance as a RAC ASM, convert it to a CAR first. »
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you
RobetHello
As you can see there no ASM is registered with RAC. If you are unable to use DBCA fot its, you immediately connect to ASM on the node where it is running and close.export ORACLE_SID=+ASM1 sqlplus "/ as sysdba" shutdown immediate
Delete the password file and the file init of ASM and its entry to/etc/oratab.
Now again to start over and create a RAC database during which it will also create RAC ASM instances for you. I don't have CARS now, so I'm sorry I can't tell you the screens.

Settings memory ignored after reboot (ASM instance)
Hi all
ASM version: 11.2.0.4
OS: SunOS fmsdb 5.10 Generic_150401-18 i86pc i386 i86pc
I'm trying to reduce the setting memory_max_target on the ASM instance.
Here are the current settings of the memory;
SQL > target setting sho
NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ --------------------------------- ------------------------------
memory_max_target big integer 1 G
memory_target large integer 1 G
pga_aggregate_target large integer 0
SGA_TARGET large integer 0
I just changed the memory_max_target and the memory_target to 544 M in spfile. I can see the new values in spfile. Here's the new values;
SQL > select NAME, display_value from v$ spparameter whose name IN ('memory_target', 'memory_max_target');
NAME DISPLAY_VALUE
---------------------------------------------------------
memory_target 544 M
memory_max_target 544 M
After the reboot of the ASM instance, these new values ignored by Oracle.
Here are the current settings of the memory after reboot;

Thank you
Erman
Have a read of the default value and value MEMORY_TARGET & MEMORY_MAX_TARGET Minimum for ASM 11.2.0.4 and after (Doc ID 1982132.1)
on Oracle support and you'll see why your memory_target is 1 GB. I did not use ASM recently and never paid no attention to the memory allocation when I did (because there was no reason to).

change essbase connection to another instance of SSP on a different server
Hello world
I'm working on 11.1.2.2 EPM platform and I need to change the connection essbase to Shared Services. I want to connect to another instance on another server. So, I think to start the Configurator on the new server to connect the essbase to the new instance. However, what about the existing configuration? I have to cancel the configuration it? Is there a procedure that I could follow?
I hope that I was clear... Thank you in advance for each considerations that you might have about my problem.
Kind regards
Maurizio
Uninstall Essbase and must remove it shared services registry.
See you soon

Connection of multiple instances of ColdFusion 10 to a single server Apache 2.2
It is replicated from site "Server failure" StackOverflow. The CF community is under represented, so I post here also. Sorry for "cross-post".
It's on Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
I had two instances of ColdFusion 10 (update 2): "cfusion" (the default) and "scratch."
I had a single instance of Apache 2.2 running.
In Apache, I've set up two virtual servers, each of which must be served by another instance of ColdFusion.
Each CF instance serves files through an internal web server to Tomcat. Apache serves as vanilla HTML files too. If instances of CF and two virtual servers separately work OK.
I can get wsconfig.exe to connect either of the CF instances to the Apache Server and serve files via Apache and this instance CF.
However I don't find a way to connect the second instance of CF at Apache, so that two instances of CF are connected, each serving one of the virtual servers. WSConfig doesn't seem to understand the concept of "multiple instances of CF", and the changes it brings to the httpd.conf (via mod_jk.conf) does not seem to be implemented so as to take account of multiple instances of CF, speaking to a single instance of Apache, or several virtual servers. I will admit not being fairly confident with mod_jk (or even really httpd.conf) operation to be able to guess if I can change things to make it work.
If I try to add the second instance of CF using WSConfig, I received a message "the web server is already configured for ColdFusion. Whatever it is... not the instance of ColdFusion - what I want to connect to. If I remove the connector in any instance is already connected, I can connect and then a no problems. Not that this helps, but it demonstrates that the CF can connect to Apache.
All of this used to be relatively straight line fwd under older versions of CF and JRun :-(
The docs just I found are on the page "Connect multiple Apache virtual servers on a web server to a single ColdFusion Server" (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7fd 5 html), but that precisely only addresses a single instance of CF. There is no equivalent page for several instances of CF.
I hope a little I can move some of the config of mod_jk in my virtual host entries in httpd - vhosts.conf (that's how it used to work for JRun), but I have no idea what to put where.
I think I covered all the necessary info here? If not, sing and I'll add more. Thank you.
Anyone? See you soon.

Unable to connect to an instance by using EM but properly connect with SQL * more
Hello
I followed the following steps (from the document s/n 2 days):
1. I created a model (including the database) to an instance named "orcl" using DBCA, before we proceed to create the model, DBCA informed me that the Forum might be stopped, I told him to go ahead.
2. the model has been successfully created.
3. I am now unable to connect to the instance orcl using EM, but I can connect to this instance without any problem using SQL * more.
Question: Why am I not able to connect to the instance by using EM? and what should I do to fix this?
Thank you very much for your help,
John.
PS: in case it may be useful, the listener tnsnames and Sqlnet files follow:

I think you change some configuration of your system as domain/IP address/host name.
You needset ORACLE_SID=orcl emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create

Migrating existing Oracle 10.2 - ASM Instances at 11, 2 - ASM for Cluster
Hello
I have autonomous bases on a RH Linux 5.4/X 86-64, their data files are on 10, 2-ASM-starts.
Now, I'm trying to migrate these ASM starts at 11, 2-ASM-starts with Clusterware to later build a RAC system!
My problems:
1 / use YES I cann't "install grid infrastructure. for a Cluster", because there is an ASM Instance.
2 / use "Upgrade grid infrastructure." I can only pass the ASM instance to standalone Server.
My Questions:
1 / do I have to use the option "Install grid infrastructure. SW only?
2 / I did all this trouble?
I appreciated all the help.Hello
the problem is that you have an installed Oracle ASM + autonomous system (which itself has a deamon running crs/css).Therefore, when you install grid infrastructer YES detects a single ASM node and will not allow you to directly install GridInfrastructure for a server, because it will take a cluster of crs daemon version.
If you can do an upgrade of stand-alone server.Software only installation will help either, because it expects to configure an ASM 11.2 instance and will fail.
I doubt that Oracle has already thought about upgrading one node ASM to an ASM clustered in the same step, during the upgrade.However what you could do is 'Unconfigure' the demon of local crs and ASM stop.
Then you can install the network for a cluster Infrastructure.So:
-closing of database/earphone etc.
-stop ASMDo a:
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/localconfig deleteto remove the local configuration of crs/css
This should also remove /etc/ocr.loc
Now you should be able to install IM 11 GR 2 for a cluster.
Note that you will need additional disks and name diskgroup additional for ASM diskgroup clusterware files, since you don't want to replace your existing diskgroup data...If IM is running, asmca should be able to pick up starts already existing DSO.
For more information on the localconfig delete see here:
Note 747415.1 How to restore the CRS after accidentally running localconfig on RAC systemConcerning
