Connect to problems after Restore Point

My DSL worked very slow and this past weekend, I lost the volume on my Media Player.  I did a reset of my computer and a comprehensive analysis of Norton Internet Security, now I am unable to connect to MSN and my call last night to support has been met with "MSN support was down during the last 48 hours and we don't know when we'll be back running."   I can't get into "Hot Mail", but it takes time and I can not move all payments.  Is it a problem others have?

You have the possibility to cancel your last restore if you think that the restoration was the cause of your problem. You can also try posting your question in hotmail in the appropriate forum.

I hope this helps.

To exclude a software problem, have you ever tried to return to factory settings, without using the most recent backup data?

Your backup can contain damaged data, causing your problems.

Use iTunes to restore your device to factory settings - Support Apple iOS

If the factory reset does not help, get the phone checked by Apple:

    Launch a service request

Find an Apple authorized service provider

  • I looked under system restore points and the earlier it had was on March 27, which was still after that I got problems

Good so my computer has some corrupted files... I looked under the system (Yes, including the section 5 days ago) restore points, and the earlier it had was on March 27, which was still after that I got problems... I want a later date... Help, please.

    Hello

If there is no previous restore points until 27 March, including even more that 5 days more then they just do not exist

and you can not do something which

    Follow these steps instead:

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

  • Vista Home Prem - problems since installation on 26 August updated - USB problems and everything deleted before the update restore points

I have a Dell XPS 430 quad-processor. Receipt of the August 26 as update automatic updates. Since the computer was restarted after autoupdates, I have problems. Biggest problem is when I switch to another port my 4 ports KVM Trendnet TK - 407K and back on my Dell computer - the computer is blocked and the video is all garbled. My only recourse is to start the computer cold. After the first time it happened, I knew immediately updates, so I went in my restore points to restore back before the update. When I did restore bluescreened, but I was unable to capture data as computer restarted itself and get into the routine of starting fix. Difficulty of startup said it could not solve my problem.

When I returned to restore to try to restore once again, I found that all my restore points have been removed. I found a utility called the shadow on the web Explorer and installed. He seems to find all my data restore point on the recovery D: drive, but Windows is not seeing them.  I should also mention, usb-wise, given that these updates have been applied, my Canon digital camera is not recognized when I hang it in one of the USB ports.

Don't know what to do at this point. If I stay on the port on my computer using the KVM switch, my PC at home works well. Unfortunately, it is not realistic that I need to do my job in two laptops that are also connected to the switch.

I'm tempted to just delete all the updates that have been installed on 8/26 to see if that helps - esp KB973879 I read on this patch causing a lot of problems with other computers.  Another thing that I have not tried is to use the restore from a command prompt application.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • Pavilion p6610: recovery program Restore Points is no longer works after AOL System Mechanic ran on my computer

I have Pavilion p6610 desktop Win 7 Home premium 64 bit I have cleaned my computer, tune, Defrag, ran MS fixit, ran malware removal, called internet provider for bad connection (buffering, etc.) they said it was a software program interfering with my ability to computers to have full access to the output of my modem , (only 2 bars on the taskbar icon) so I gave in and decided to try the AOL System Mechanic. Ran all the tools last night, then stop. I tried to open documents of MS today (15/10/2015) will not open. Could not open one of my components of the Microsoft Office 2010 Starter program.  Canceled AOL system mechanic. Removed uninstalled from my system.  Tried 3 different restore point dates back to the 27/09/2015.  None worked. Can't use my program of recovery restore point!

I don't want to have to reformat and start all over again. I thought that AOL Sys.Mech done something in the registry that messed with the start of Microsoft Office 2010 (can't find a more free?) but why we don't joke about my restore points?  I can't restore anything from my computer.  I don't know if something's going to come to work anymore. How can I fix it?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

    Hi @TY965

I understand that you are not able to use restore points, and that you are having problems with a certain software factory installed on your HP System. I'm happy to help you with this.

As a first step, you can try using the Recovery Manager and see if the software is among those available from your original image to install instead of a full factory image installation. See the following document that shows how to do this.

Computers HP - using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

Then, to the question of the restoration of the system, maybe try to use SFC/scannow, as described below. The second page includes more specific details to a problem of system restore.

Use the File Checker system to repair missing or corrupted system files - support.microsoft.com

  • System Restore error: "the changes to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»

I had some problems with my computer recently I knew could be solved with the system restore.  Then I went into system restore and went to a restore point that was a few weeks back.  After I clicked on it and pressing the ok button, the following message appeared: "the changes made to the G: drive after this point cannot be reversed, because the drive has been either excluded from monitoring system restore or has been disabled or deleted.»  I let it continue and do the restore.  My computer has rebooted and came up with an error in system restore that says restore failed.  It's the same thing with other restore points.  I don't know why I get this error because I not made any changes to this hard drive except for copy of a document word on him.  I thought that the System Restore monitors removable disks.  Anyone know what is happening here and how I can get the restoration of the system to operate without the mistakes to come?

I have Norton.  Disable the Tamper Protection works.  I also noticed that since the G: drive was a portable hard drive, System Restore wanted to exercise oversight.  He wants to monitor all hard drives.  Turn on external and portable hard disks prevents tracking system restore changes to the readers.  I don't think anyone would have the system restore review external drives anyway.  It is not necessary.

  • System Restore does not properly restore after creates a successful restore point

I tried to restore my system from a restore point I created without problem. But I noticed the system restore ever restore anything completely.

I have a Dell Studio 435MT XPSX running Vista Ultimate Edition and had to delete some files under Documents and c name\locat user settings and just screwed up by selecting the entire folder and not individual files. but the question is - anyone know how to get this system restore to work. In the meantime, I'll try again

This cannot be found in the Windows section

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. do you get any error code or error message?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is started or not. If it is started, then start the service and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to start the service:

    a. Click Start, type services.msc in the search box and press ENTER.

    b. Locate the service: Volume shadow copy.

    c. right-click the service, and then click Start.

    d. try to run the system restore and check whether the problem is resolved.

    Method 2:

Disable the security software and check if it helps.

    Disable the antivirus software:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Warning: If you need to temporarily disable the security software, you should reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

If you still experience the problem, then try the safe mode system restore and restore you computer at the point when the computer was working fine.

How to start the system restore in Windows Vista?

    Hope the information is useful.

I lost a few GB of space in my drive C. I checked the forums and found restore points using little disk space. I went to disk cleaning and deleated old restore points and then I changed the MaxSize parameter for 2BG restore point.

  • system restore points after Defender updates?

After you have installed the latest WU V7.4.7600.226 engine-> the last 2 updates to Defender has created a restore point (I've updated via WU without defender app.)
name restore points are 'windows update '.
Before installing the engine last WU - he didn't
Why is this? How to fix?

Installation of a Defender update via automatic updates always creates a default Restore Point. These Restore Points may have been appointed Software Distribution Service 3.0 or similar before the installation of the update WUAgent.

  • New creation problem with Vista HP restore point

My laptop, a sony vaio VGN FE-890, developed all of a sudden a group of problems, slowdown, programs responds not, printer won, t etc load.

I'm doing a system restore but all my restore points went off the menu except for a restore at the present time and date. When I try to create a new restore point it will only ask for a name, and then creates a new restore with the date and the current time point. I need to restore to a week or more in the past. What I am doing wrong?

If you don't see more of 1 restore point, that's all you have. If each time that you create a new, the previous 'disappears' my first suspicion is that you don't have enough space allocated to store more than 1 restore point. This article tells you how to investigate your system restore benefits:

    http://blogs.TechRepublic.com.com/window-on-Windows/?p=1077&tag=nl.E132

This article is general information about the system restore:http://www.davescomputertips.com/newsletters/2010/101101.php

If this isn't the problem, the next thing I see is that you have some sort of automated process of 'cleaning up' configuration 'extra' restore points. This seems to be a remote possibility because most of the cleaning tools are not triggered by the creation of restore point, but I suppose it could be possible.

There are many utilties of freeware that make the management of restore points a little more friendly that the native windows tools, here is a link to one of them:
