Connection to a wireless - printing Via Ethernet network?

Hi, I had a search here but you can't find what I'm looking for, sorry if it was taken!

I just bought a HP C310a wireless all in one, very happy so far.

I connected my Netgear DGN2200 wireless, job done. I printed the test page and all is well.

I'm now trying to set up my PC to print through my router via an Ethernet connection, but I've hit a brick wall!

I tried to connect via usb and then try to go wireless, but it will not find the printer. I have also run the program quotes but it does not find the printer?

Any ideas please?

Thank you.

OK, another problem as well!

I just tried to connect with my wireless laptop and it failed. Looks like maybe that's a problem with my Netgear router?

This rule!

Just in case anyone else has this problem, it was down to my speed on my router settings. Speed has been set to "up to 300' and I reduced it" up to 145', and it worked very well, both wireless and ethernet. "

I want to thank my wifi in another part of the House with an Airport Extreme. But I want to not be connected to the modem main via ethernet cable is it possible?

I put in place already to extend the wifi of my modem still connected to the modem via ethernet cable.

Now I want to be considered on the floor and use it to extend the wifi without ethernet cable

The AirPort Extreme can extend only wireless signal from another router from Apple, so if you want to take the AirPort Extreme on the floor and extend wireless signal, you will need another airport connected to your modem by Ethernet cable router to produce the wireless signal that will extend the extreme on the floor.

Another way of saying the same thing would be to say that if you want to extend wireless using a router from Apple, you'll need two of them do... because AirPort Extreme is not compatible with a third-party modem or modem/router for this purpose.

  • How to connect my PC to my C309 printer via ethernet directly? Radio failed.

I determined by the troubleshooting report network that the interface (Wifi0) wireless network does not work properly, and the likely cause is that the wireless radio has failed.  I delected original printer and reinstalled as a directly connected printer.  However, I always get a print error when I try to print.  Help!

    Thank you!

Exactly how is the printer connected - are the printer and PC both connected via ethernet connected to a router, or you connect the printer directly to the ethernet port on the PC?  If you try to make it last you will probably have problems.  In this case a better solution would be to use a USB cable to connect the printer and the computer.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!
You have reached the right forum for your question.

    1. what happens when you try to print?
    2. you receive an error message?
    3. What is the brand and model of the printer?

    Method 1:
You can try the steps in the link and check.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/printer-problems-in-Windows

    Method 2:
You can temporarily disable the antivirus on the computer and check if you are able to print.
NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks

    Method 3:
You can uninstall and reinstall the wireless printer and check.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a: securing wireless printer on home network

    Hello

I did some research on it and can't seem to find the answer.  Others say that their problem has been resolved, but I don't see how.

I have an Officejet 6500 connected to the router in my house - I manually entered the IP address.  I suspect that someone in my house (family member) is the impression of the things on my printer because my ink disappears quickly.  It's no big deal, but I thought I'd give the password protect the printer so that they could not connect and print at will.

I have read other solutions, and people say that remove 'everyone' from the Security tab in windows will work, but that only works if I was connected to the printer via USB and share my connection to a printer through Windows.  Everyone connected to my without wire can install the driver and it will find the HP printer on our network, install and they can print at will.

Is there a way to put a password on the printer, so access on a home network can be limited to even when I'm not home?  I realize that they could connect manually via USB - I'm just trying to make more of a pain to print when I'm not around.

I guess I could of pseudo-seggregate my networkt House using a mask of the subnet and the printer on my laptop but my network is a little rusty as I am out of the TI of career and did not want to understand.  I can't find a way to disable the SSID broadcast - which would effectively mask the printing software to find the printer on the network.

I am disappointed that the designers at HP could not put something so seemingly simple as requiring a password to connect to the printer.

    Any thoughts there?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions.  If ever I strong enough to play with maybe subnet masks I'll post how it's done, if it works.

Stupid... everything in this world is cheap and poorly thought.  Can't wait until this printer still works and HP stop cartridges or has no drivers for the next version of Windows coming out that everyone starts to use 3 years after the release, so that they can work out the bugs.

  • C6280, win7 cannot print via active network with VPN

Hi, I have 2 PCs, one Vista, one on Win7. With Vista, I can print over the network.

Also, via USB on the win7 PC I can print.

But I can't print via active on the Win7 with VPN network. Without VPN, it works.

I had several problems with the installation of the SW. Finally it worked (I think I had to turn my VPN connection)

It recognizes the printer, the State says: ready, but when I print, I get an error after a while.

When I stop the VPN, I can print.

I tried to load the patch for Win 7 (recommended on HP circuit (printer disappears), but what it says that I don't have the SW right?)

    any idea?

    Hi ReneH,

I am pleased to hear that the problem has been resolved. Have a wonderful day.

  • Printing problems on a M1120n MFP printer via the network

    Hello

I bought a printer HP M1120n MFP, a couple of months.  I made sure that there the firmware up-to-date and that you have downloaded the latest drivers from hp.com.

I can print and scan very well from the PC which is connected to the printer via a USB cable.  However, I can not usually print on the network of the other PC.  On the PC, I can ping the printer and I can also see the printer status page if I enter the IP address in a web browser on the PC.  So, I'm sure that there are no network connectivity problems.

However, when I print to the printer on the network of these PCs, jobs just to stay in the queue for the printer.  Sometimes they print - but I don't see any model when they print.

I would appreciate any suggestion on what to do, because I have to return this printer unless I can solve the problem?

    Thank you

    Bogman

Thanks HP for quality and urged him to respond.  This has really increased my opinion about your company and the excellent support it brings.

  • Windows XP - want to connect to a remote printer on another network

I'm in an office that wants to connect to a remote printer on a separate network to our warehouse on the internet.

Office network is behind a switch, the warehouse network is on a router, both computers we want to connect using XP.  The printer in the warehouse is currently connected directly to the router, but we can connect to a computer by USB.  The two networks have static IP.  We would like to have the printer of the warehouse are displayed on the office computer printers and fax machines as just an another printer if possible.
I tried to set up a VPN without success and tried LogMeIn but a client computer cannot print to host apparently (and we want that no interaction with the computer of the warehouse on-site, just be able to connect from the desktop).
Is there a better solution for this?  Anything is possible with remote desktop?  Or should I continue to try to put in place a VPN?
