  Hi all

  I have a problem with Linux on my laptop Satellite C70-B-212. The videochip Intel Graphics 4400 is supported by Linux, but on this laptop, it gives very distorted output on the console screen. I see a few vertical lines on the screen showing a few ghosts strange images of the output.

  My Console application can't remember the size of the window as I adjusted. When I opened the Console it always opens in a medium-sized window in the middle of the screen. I then manually adjust the size of my monitor (not full screen). When I close it, Console does not remember this, but will open again in the middle size window (which is probably a default setting). I don't have this problem with other apps, they all remember their windows correctly.

  I tried to delete the preference files from the Console and the Finder with no result. Anyone any idea what I could do about it?

  Hi there are Werner!

  It sounds like if you were running Mavericks you were able to resize the Console application, close it, and then reopen it with the size of the Update window.  This is not the behavior that you experience in Yosemite.

  There is a setting in System Preferences > General entitled Close windows when you exit an application. If you clear this point, the behavior you mention will change, which allows the Console window to reopen with your changes. See this article for reference - OS X Yosemite: General preferences
