Construction plan necessary to change HDD on Satellite 1110

Hello friends.
I have a problem with the change of the HARD drive on my laptop.

Give me a plan of construction of the work?

Thank you and forgive me my English :-)

Homer J.

Hello

I don t think you will find plans to build for this laptop.
Service manuals are not public documents and only authorized service provider has access to these documents.
But wait to my knowledge that the cover of the HARD drive location is placed at the bottom of the unit.

All simply remove the HARD drive cover and you should see the HARD drive.

  • Change HDD on Satellite Pro A40

    Hello!

I have a hard drive dead in my Satellite Pro A40, and I would like to replace it.
Please tell me which model suits me. The size of 40 to 80 GB hard drive.

    Thank you!

This old model was offered with 30 GB, 40 GB or 60 GB HDD. In my opinion you shouldn't have any problem, upgrade with 80 GB or even with max 100GB / 120 GB HDD.

For example check please model Toshiba MK1032GAX. It is the old model with IDE interface and must be perfect for your machine.

Incidentally: of course this old piece of equipment can scale up to 2 GB of RAM. How do you currently use? What operating system do you use?
Sorry for the question, but it really is fascinating that many people still use old machines WXP. :)

  • How to change HDD on Satellite Pro 430CDT

Can someone tell me where I could find simple instructions telling me how to take apart my old 430CDT to mount a hard drive more? I think replace drive 1.25 GB - with a 4 or 6 GB hard drive assuming the disks that I may need to adapt.

I guess that the hard drive is hidden somewhere under the keyboard, but may not work on how to remove + that + without damaging it.

I have no real experience of this sort of thing - I did nothing more complicated than the new fitting RAM to a less-ancient A120 and change hard drives around on a Satellite 320.

Archives help, unfortunately, but it's fun to read old press releases and ads and see what was considered as performing just twelve or thirteen years - progress in the design of the computer are fast enough, isn't it? Aware that in a couple of years something with less of a terabyte of HARD drive and a quad-core processor will be also awfully outdated and limited my old 430 you like now.

Absolutely no reason practice for this - just out of curiosity and just for fun.

Any suggestion would be appreciated - thanks in anticipation!

    Hello

Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult.
The HARD drive Bay is placed at the bottom of the unit and you can easily access the HARD disk.

To remove the HARD disk drive, follow the steps below.

    1. turn off the power the computer. Unplug the power cord and all external cables connected to the computer.
    2. remove the two screws that fix the backup of HARD drive to the computer chassis.
3 pull the chassis forward by its handle to disconnect the HARD drive.
    4. remove the frame and the brace with the HARD drive.
    5. remove the four screws that anchor the frame on the HARD drive and separate the frame HARD drive.

    That s it

  • Change HDD on Satellite L70-B-13D

    Hallo,

I am trying to replace the unit of HARD drive of my laptop with a SSD to increse speed, but I can't find a way to access the unit; seems that there is only the main cover at the bottom of the laptop and not the traditional specific for different units like most laptops. Is there a procedure to remove this cover, so I can access the HW unit to replace it?

At a tryied already this replacement?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards.

As you are probably aware that some models have the HARD drive cover in the lower corner so access on the HARD drive is not that complicated. Change HARD drive on these models can be done by the owner of the laptop.

In your case for computer laptop design is a bit complicated and must be done by the Toshiba service provider.
In General, if you remove the blanket guarantee will be cancelled.

First of all I recommend you contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask how it works. Please don t do anything on your own. In my opinion the guarantee is very important.

    Hello

If you want to change the DVD player, it will be very complicated. You have to disassemble the whole unit. AFAIK the DVD player is fixed with two screws card system. If you don't have a lot of experience please don t do it yourself.

    Good luck!

  • New DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive satellite 1110 - Z20

    Hallo,
    I'm looking for a new drive combo DVD/CDRW for the Satellite 1110 - Z20.
    Which firmware is necessary?
    Which drive do you recommend?
    Is it easy to replace?
    Thank you very much
    stunner

    Hello

Why do you ask the firmware? I put t think that the firmware of the player has something to do with the compatibility of the player.
The fact is that not every drive will run on the laptop because c - salt sensitive and master/slave settings.

On the drives for desktop PC, you can change these settings by changing the jumper but on the portable readers it of not possible to change the settings.

In my manual, I found the player that is compatible for my laptop. Maybe it s also listed in the user manual you.
If this isn't the case, then contact the Toshiba service partner in your country to control the player compatible and taken in charge. Guys you can give an exactly the info about the supported drive.

  • Recovery disk will not start on Satellite 1110

I try to use the recovery on a Satellite 1110 CD. I want to just install fresh Windows. The necessary files are supposed to be on the Toshiba recovery CD that accompanies it.

So I did what the brochure says, and booted up the laptop to the top with the correct CD in the drive, while pressing 'C '. The notebook ignored the CD ROM and loaded Windows as usual. I repeated three times, each time that the CD ROM whirs a bit but will not start and Windows loads as usual. I have replaced 'C' for F12, chose the CD ROM drive in the list and repeat the process several times. Yet once it wouldn't boot from the CD-ROM.

I looked at the content of the CD ROM A single MB 447. File of the GHS. The file icon is that generic type "Windows does not know what program this icon is intended to" deals.

Google believes it is a ghost file and must the ghost installed to run it. This bitch never came with Ghost.

Anyone here knows a remedy to this problem?

(NB - I tried clean Windows system restore option, but it just brings back me to September this year. Theres no option that was more early in life for portable computers)

I am in the United Kingdom, and is a UK machine if that makes a difference.

    Hello Micha

Is this your ODD works properly with the operating system?

I put really know what exactly is happening here, but please make sure that you start with recovery CD number 1/2 2/2. The installation of recovery, you can just start with the first recovery CD. Also try please set CD-ROM as firs boot device in the BIOS.

  • Satellite 1110-Z15: problem with Recovery CD and DVD player

    I currently have a Satellite 1110 model number PS111E-006R8-EN/S1110-Z15.
But a few weeks ago, my DVD Rom drive no longer works, it would not run properly when a cd is inserted it kind of Jolt and then arrested and continues to do the same. Anyway to cut a long story short, I tried to rebuild the system by using a version of windows xp that has been successful, it is now, I found the original recovery disks, but without using the cd drive inward, I had recourse to an external cd drive freecom, I hold the c key at startup , but nothing happens, can anyone help emergency
PS: I made the changes in the Bios to boot from the cd drive

    Hi nichollsr,

in our society, we have 2 Satellite 1110-Z15, and there is a delicate hint for recovery.

Toshiba has made a small mistake and printed the wrong order on the CD. You only need to change the order of the Recovery CD. No.. 1 is no. 2 and vice versa.

Insert the diskette n ° 2, hold down the 'C' key and the recovery is expected to begin. If your laptop does not identify external drive-Freecom CD try to hold the 'U' key to boot from USB.

  • Satellite 1110: USB2.0 PCMCIA install freeze

    Hello

I have a Satellite 1110 (at the level of the Bios 1.2) and wanted to install a Trust 3 Port USB 2.0 Cardbus adapter http://www.trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=12918.

The problem is that the system completely freezes and nothing happens when the card is inserted.

I'm always looking for how to change the IRQ setting, but impossible to find a solution.

A problem is that I can't pass the Bios to 1.5 because my floppy drive is broken does not work. -> Y at - it a possiblity to bring in the Bios 1.5 without floppy?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Gibson is absolutely right. Sometimes it's dangerous update BIOS and you can ruin the entire system. To use this device exists in the traditional version just and do it with a floppy disk.

I hope that the installation is done as described in the manuals of the card.

  • How do I reinstall Win XP on Satellite 1110

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite 1110 PS111E and I want complite reinstall my system because there are several mistakes and work unstable.
I have the drive XP SP2 Home Edition, identical to installed on Toshiba.

Can I do a full reinstall and how (as on computer standart?)

And another question: System Restore is the same?

Yes, the procedure is almost the same as for a standard computer. Insert the disc to install operating system and start him.
After successful installation, you just need to install all the necessary drivers and utilities.

Everything you need can be found here:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

But I don't know what you mean by ' system restores the same?
Programs to use again, you need to install the first to use them. And you need to back up important data, before you reinstall Windows.

  • Re: 1 GB of RAM / update BIOS for Satellite 1110

    Hello

I ordered 2 x 512 MB of RAM at CompuRAM. According to their information 1 GB is possible for this model. According to the user manual only 512 MB is possible. As normally CompuRAM information is right (maybe necessary BIOS update), I tried.

But it does not work. I can only use 1 x 512 MB.

Does anyone have information on RAM update for Toshiba Satellite 1110 (model PS111E-003DN-GR/S1110-Z16)?
    Could help update the BIOS?
How to find the update of the BIOS in the Toshiba homepage (model 1110 does not exist)?

    For any help thanks!

    Thomas

    Hello

I found the info that this notebook can handle with 512 MB max.
Sorry, but the BIOS update is unable to help.

  • Could not load the device driver for DVD/CD-RW - Satellite 1110

I have a Satellite 1110 and something has gone wrong with my DVD/CDRW and it will not read any CD. It is reported as a CARPET * A UJDA730 DVD/CDRW but the device status is shown as:

"Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the device, but the error just return. I can't find a driver to make it on the web site of the manufacturer or Toshiba. I don't want to use the product recovery CD because it means I'm losing all software and data on the hard drive.

Can someone advise how to recover from this situation?

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all you n t a driver for the CD/DVD drive. The drive uses the standard Windows OS driver and it s not necessary to install additional.
I suppose that there could be something wrong with the registry entry.
