  Hi all

  I always assumed that my contacts are all on my SM card and all I have to do is pop the output card and put it in another phone if something happened to mine. I discovered that is not the case, none of my contacts are on my SIM card.

  The main advantage of having contacts on SIM card is portability, you talked.

  The downside is that you have several duplicates of contacts by name if yu have more than 1 number of phone attached to their name. In addition, other details like address, email and IM links cannot be saved on the SIM simcard.so only save basic details, name and contact number 1 for each contact record.

  Is it possible to copy contacts from the sim card. But I don't see any possibility to show or select contacts on the sim card and then delete them. There are a lot of Apps on Store, all may have contacts but deletion do not work. I think android or contact sony application do not allow applications to handle the contacts on the sim card.   With the complexity of the ecosystem of BB, the SIM is quite inadequate to be used as a means for a switch of the device. Consider... the list of contacts BB has the ability for you to have a single entry (for example, a person), but with several phone numbers for this entry. The address book SIM is much simpler... a name to a number... which means that more than one person should have several entries on the address book SIM.

  In addition, the SIM card cannot contain your photos, videos and other files that you may have on your device. Overall, the SIM card is useless for a switch device process.   If you go to your address book, open a contact, then a phone number-specific menu, once there, you can use the menu button and should see "copy to SIM Phone Book".

  Open your address book > contact > scroll to a phone number > press Menu > copy to SIM card.

  I thought I might test you all and see how far technology has come since my last post.

  Is there a request yet to allow more than one contact to be copied to the sim card at the same time?

  Or an update of the software?

  I'm wearing now 3 cameras with me (no, not all Blackberry ) and the sim card gets a rotation. The contacts I need are all in my Storm, and I can't get them to the sim card again unless I do one at a time.

  I just did some research, but all articles are 2008 so hoping there is something new on the market to solve this problem, other than the synchronization of Desktop Manager that I don't have outlook or any system of mail installed on my pc, nor do I want to Office Manager

  I think that I would lose the other two aircraft ;-) if they are not sophisticated enough to manage a complete address book.

  Not knowing the other devices, pourraient they manage something like Google Contacts sync, and you move all your contacts to this application so that you can synchronize on each device?

  Where I am getting... what common denominator of an application or a service that all three have in common? You said that you do not use Outlook, but if you do, all three devices could synchronize Outlook?

• BlackBerry software can't Sync contacts - local and linked to a problem?

  Most of my contacts appear as 'local' and is related to outlook.com. Sync-ing is not the case. I know that I am not alone but the hours of research and many suggestions later, I still cannot not difficulty, nor understand, is (not) happening and prevent sync-ing?  Anyone?  I put my contacts from SIM (empty) on 'stop' so it's not a problem.

  Fixed: changed the bus outlook.com e-mail account. maps to the 'list '. Bingo. It's great now, but it is of course far from being transparent and intuitive and all things, it SHOULD BE.

  I don't have two MS exchange accounts and a Facebook account registered on my Z10.

  In the list of contacts of normal, I disabled my Facebook and SIM contacts to show. It works very well.

  But if I create a new text message and press the sign more to add contacts as beneficiaries, all Facebook contacts AND SIM will appear in the list.

  It's very embarrassing because SIM contacts are pre-programmed by my provider and most of my Facebook contacts have no associated port number.

  Could you please fix this somehow, that display the contacts application settings apply to this list as well.

  In the Contacts application, Facebook and SIM contacts are filtered reviews, not actually disabled. When you compose a new message, these contacts are included in universal search.

  I downloaded my contacts to sim card and yahoo connected to facebook. I disabled the contacts on Facebook. My problem is: how is half of my contacts to my Contact list does NOT appear on my list of phone call?

  With respect to Notifications: I put on phone calls - so phone calls with the sound, I put all my msgs (text, email, bbm) on the silence with LED lights up, but LED does not function in this mode!

  Welcome to the community,

  Copy Contact go to the Contacts or address book, press on enter or view the Press Contact Menu > copy to Sim Phone Book > press Menu then save, this way you will have to copy your Sim card contacts, it's going to be little of your time.

  Please note that the SIM contacts will contain ONLY one phone number per contact entry. Your BB address book will have a different arrangement with a resource person and several areas of information (phone cell phone, work phone, home phone, e-mail address, etc.) All contacts from SIM card will copy you into the address book of BB as separate contacts. You will have to edit each copy and paste phone numbers to an entry for a main entrance. It is better synchronization of your BB to a program such as MS Outlook, where you can use a PC to more easily change the address book, and then synchronize to your BlackBerry to update.

  It is by default all contacts from your SIM card will be copied in your BB address book as "work phone". This cannot be changed, you must change the information to organize properly.

  I just got a Blackberry 8300 from a colleague who has left the company. Is there a quick way to remove their phone contacts & address SIM on mass books? It's excruciating duty doing one by one! I also have the same problem with having to remove their e-mail settings.

  You can use the clear function to erase all the data from the previous owner. To do so go to Options -> Security Option -> click on the Menu button and select Wipe Handheld.
