After 1 year with the help of Windows Calendar on Vista Home Premium, I'm suddenly not able to use it (impossible to add new appointments and stored all appointments have mysteriously disappeared). I get a message saying "You cannot add appointments to a calendar that is disabled" the details of State "access denied." ... How is - it happened 'out of nowhere '? How to activate it? It's very frustrating... I searched the forums and Microsoft google the question. I found some results suggesting to either change the registry or download the fix automatically and manually merge in my registry. I tried both with no result. I have event tried to remove the old calendar and create a new one... still nothing. Any suggestions? Help, please!
Hello NYintelligentinvestor,
Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.
Sorry, you have a problem with that. What type of entry you are trying to add?
Look at the calendar and on the left side, to half way down you will see a small block that will have something like "NYintelligentivnestor schedule" - there is a small block to the left of this one. To activate the calendar, click on the box to place a check mark in it.
If there are calendar shown in this block, then go to "file" on the main toolbar and click on "new calendar" - one should then appears in a block with a check mark in the box on the left.
I hope this helps. Please let us know status. Thank you! Engineer James Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit SP2.
Is there a way to delete the records of 'detail' of only updates of failure or cancelled in the history of Windows Update?
I just installed hotfix for Windows (KB947821).
It looks like a lot of my earlier 'failed' and 'Cancelled' updates are automatically updated and installed, and successfully, I might add.
Some dates in some records do not seem much sense. I guess I'm looking for a way to select the records, I want to get rid of.
Help?
Hi Jeffrey,.
It's not really a taken way in charge to remove only the cancelled or failed updates. These are taken from windows logs and displayed in the history. Steps that Jose post is a way to remove all files in history and will remove all updates as well as a failed/cancelled updates successfully.

No access to Windows Vista Home Premium more - need help please!
Hello
I made the most stupidest mistake by not creating a password reset disk. I have one account administrator, and this is my account, I use as well. I am currently logged in as "guest". I tried to create a password reset disk from another computer with Vista Home Premium and tried to reset my password, but can not, as happens with an error. Now, I know that there must be a way to get new. I have an idea of what is my password, but I could have made a typo when I re-printing and since disconnecting and tried to reconnect to test, it didn't. Lycky for me, I have activated the Geust account for a friend to use. So now I'm stuck. I need to reconnect, so I'm desperate, and re - install Windows is not an option either. Pretty anyone can help me please. I tried all combinations and tried to make deliberate typos to see if I can get the correct password, but not to go at all. And the geust account limit me to access what it is, I can't install of the software, it asks me my administrator password. Is there another way around it. Please please help. If there is anything I can do in Windows, there's a few other kindof thing I can do at least. All that will be a great help.
Thanks in advance.

I decided, after all the trouble I had with Vista and go back to the factory settings and lost my last two years of my university studies to upgrade for students out of windows 7.
It was great to have a student, discount but it was provided in a professional and my Vista is running with Home Premium.
I bought without really noticing the difference. Before to do anything it can either, it work and if I can't have a refund or ask for windows 7 Home Edition premium to be provided with the offer student?
Hope you can help. Because of the beginning of return to college next week and have files on the office ready and waiting to install.
See you soon

I need to access it because I have windows vista and some files I downloaded or obtained by other computers, when I try to delete...
as I said when I try to delete some of these files, it won't let me just it gives me a message saying that the destination folder access denied, and he says you need permission to perform this action, I mean files are not windows or even programs most of them is files mp4 video , mkv, so what do I do to remove those and the way in which these files do not have any program.I tried access security by the properties and files was my own total control and all, but it didn't always work and I do not know how do exactly to access the administrator account in windows vista mabe of where the files will be deleted.
Try in safe mode. Restart the computer and press the F8 key repeatedly to access the menu diagnosis where you can choose Safe Mode. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit loop continues!
After spending 3 days reinstalling Vista and all of my programs after that my PC has crashed, Windows updates began and continues to stop, restart, stop, restart... Etc! ("CONFIGURATION of UPDATES 3 of 3-0% COMPLETE") It does not move 0%! I had 3 Restore Points, but it says that I do not have? I tried to start in safe MODE, but just to get a screen of scrolling files BACK! I tried to fix IT but it found no problem starting? How can I enter my office and use my computer? I am most reluctant to reinstall again after having spent so much time reloading programs! I used my XP system to enter in my drive C 64 Vista and checked Windows Update files and found a lot of mistakes which mean nothing to me! I tried to attach the files here, but it did not work. Any help appreciated.
Thank you
Louis

Genuine Windows clean install
Hello
I had a problem with my laptop Acer Extensa 5230th. It was not started and so I took for Matech computers. They diagnosed as having a mechanical drive problem. So they replaced the drive and installed a more recent version of windows vista on. Note: I haven't bought a new copy of vista family premium, he said he was going to reinstall vista. It had windows Vista Home Basic, it has installed vista Home premium and said that he had validated by call from windows, but I'm suspicious because I don't think you can use a base of windows key to validate Home premium! It means that he has put on an illegal version on windows or used the genuine key that came with the laptop. In addition, on computers of brands, if this happens again, how is a technician for legally to reinstall the original windows that it came with the new hard drive? How to install windows vista basic on the new hard drive by using the original key to make it genuine? What windows installation disc would you require? or is it easier to just buy a new copy of windows? I heard that many technicians, prefer to install illegal versions of cracking of windows instead of the customer to buy the new installation of windows.Kind regardsLewisHere are some utilities which displays product key Vista Matech used to activate Windows:

Problem with Internet access: local only for wireless in Vista
Help, please. I have a Dell laptop and a Dell desktop computer. The other day, I pressed WPS on my router Netgear wireless, and since then, my desktop computer (Windows Vista Home Premium SP2) was not able to connect to the Internet. The office is connected to my router. My Dell (Win 7 Pro) laptop is able to connect wirelessly to the router and Internet.
That's what I tried:(1) I bought a new wireless router Netgear WNDR4500(2) I bought a cutting mini USB wifi adapter for the desktop. Install the driver.(3) reset winsock, ipv4, ipv6, dns-netsh int ip reset reset.log-netsh winsock reset catalogipconfig/flushdns(4) order McAfee firewall(5) restarted several times(6) persons with disabilities wired and wireless enabled - I get signal green/fort(7) off active and wired wirelessNone of the above seem to work. I keep getting 'Access to local only' on both cables and wireless. When I ping yahoo.com, I get no response. My laptop, however, works very well in the connection to the wireless router and also to the Internet.Anything else I can try? Help, please!KTHello

I installed version 6.2 Palm Desktop with "Access" and the launch bar displays only the icons of MEDIA and INSTALL. There is nothing that exists is hidden or otherwise (calendar, tasks, notes, etc.). I think remember me a work-a-round, who was offered a couple of years when I first upgraded to VISTA which has solved the problem, but it was a new motherboard and at least two system re - installed there and this old brain (70 years) cannot rememberwhat I've done. Someone at - it ideas?
I use Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 with 2 048 MB Ram on a motherboard Gigabyte.

You can also right click on the shortcut for Palm Desktop and choose 'Run as administrator' whenever that...

Hello
I'm stuck on the screen on my computer for my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. The password to the user account has been lost, and now I am unable to access my computer. I don't have a created password reset disk so I can't reset the password. I searched these forums and seems the most effective way is to run a system restore to a time where I did have a password for my account. Fortunately for me, I did an automatic update of Windows that created a system restore point literally moments before I put the password, so I should be able to get access to my computer once I figured out how to get system restore to work. The advice I found on other forums do not seem to work, because I'm in my Windows vista operating system disc, but no screen is coming up with 'Repair your computer', which indicate the steps happen. I need assistance to find another way to run the system restore on boot menus/Vista/DVD CD. Thank you.Go to Bestbuy or other PC shop. They can fix it for you. (Could I have so I am not allowed to post these alternative instructions.)

Hello
I have a hp Pavilion notebook PC with a new motherboard. After you have installed Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, I noticed that Windows only recognizes 958 MB 2 GB of RAM installed. No one knows why this is happening and how can I fix or troubleshout the problem?
Thank you, PD777Hello
How is your memory configured? that is, what is 2 x 1 GB modules or module 1 x 2 GB. If the former I would check the physical installation of the modules on the MB memory.
Vista 32 bit should see up to 3 GB, I doubt that it is Vista the cause.
Another thought, are your shared graphics? in some BIOS, it is possible to ask the system to use a fixed amount of RAM the GUI system, this memory will not be included in the complete system.
