control file

Hello
I created three files, ctl, variable length data file file and a file that contains a table named CATALOG.
However, the CTILE field must be possibly quotes. I do not know if I put them around the title in the data file or should I put a condition in the ctl file?
Can I use a single insert in the ctl file to load all 6 files?
I appreciate if anyone can help.
Here is a sample of my files.
CTL file:
load data
INFILE 'kmanos_catalog.txt '.
Insert

First of all, 10.2.0.3 don't is not supported on Windows 7 - only 10.2.0.5. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/relnotes.102/b15680/toc.htm#BABEBBJF

Second, you must read through SQL * Loader documentation - just an INSERT command, not one per registration type - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/ldr_control_file.htm

Third, "possibly closed" means exactly that - the specified field can or cannot be locked by the specified delimiter - see http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/ldr_field_list.htm#i1007836

  • Placing the control in a custom control file

    Hi all

    I'm new to LabView and have a simple question. I customize an example of LV for my purpose. There is a custom control used in the example file. I'm setting up a new (combobox) control and want to place this control in the file of custom control so that I can move on to various sub - vi for various purposes (e.g. initialization).

    Chart attached shows the ComboBox (Model DUT) on a front panel and custom control file (TestStand UI Data.ctl). My questions are the following:

    1. What are these symbols with the pink arrow (that is the button stop/restart, etc...) in the TestStand UI Data.ctl file? (see attached diagram). They are symbol of data type of references?

    2. How can I place my combobox was forced TO model in the file of custom control so that I can pass through the different slot control file - vi? I tried to do a right-click on the control and use create-> constant or reference, but they don't it has not changed the pink arrow symbol element.

    I hope someone can help solve my problems. Thanks in advance.

    You do want to overwrite the "custom controls" that are part of LabVIEW.  However, you can create your own "custom" by a fall control, say, TestStand UI Data.ctl on your diagram, right click and choose Open Type Def (who opens the definition OR one you do want not change), make some additions or changes, then do a file/save under and save it in your project file with a custom name, that you make up.

    These pink arrow symbols are references - you can find them by looking in the Refnum palette.  I'm not sure what they are references to, however.

    As a suggestion, rather than send us just a picture with circled items, send the actual control so that we can watch and maybe tell you more details.

    (2) to recreate the controlfile

    (3) restore the backup data and recovery

    It is a database, that I was not, up to now administer. But:

    (1) I tried from the database with addressed controlfile (the one located in FRA). No luck. (Create pfile from spfile / startup pfile)

    (2) the database is not mount / open. It hangs on the editing process. So I can not issue an alter database controlfile to trace.

    It seems that my options are:

    (1) manual creation of controlfile with open resetlogs option. This option is viable, but risky if we miss a datafile or something GOLD

    (2) restoration of RMAN backup. The thing is that the most recent copy of automatic backup of controlfile is since a few days early (4 / 5 days).

    I found this link: http://gavinsoorma.com/2009/07/rman-recovery-from-loss-of-all-control-files/

    The procedure seems easy, but since this controlfile is not in the current SNA of database (data files, etc.). I'm not sure it if it would work.

    So in short, I think I have an automatic backup controlfile and it's OK. but a little old. I can restore from this copy of CF?

    Please I'm pressed real here, so help will be greatly appreciated!....

    Hello

    It seems that my options are:

    (2) restoration of RMAN backup. The thing is that the most recent copy of automatic backup of controlfile is since a few days early (4 / 5 days).

    It seems that you have few options,

    In my opinion, you should start with option 2), but you have logs archived redo and all and all the backups of catalog and perform a restore.

    After, if not works, you must manually create the control files, but you are right, you must carefully on all the data files. Here a log generated in the last level 0 RMAN backup could help you, don't forget the newspaper are all entries of data for backup files.

    I wish to have more ideas to help you, but I have no other.

    I hope this helps.

  • Retrieve by using the backup control file

    Hello

    I was reading a book called Pro Oracle Database Administration by Darl Kuhn. There, under the theme of "The valuation of the loss of all control files", noted that all data files and control files are restored from a backup, because if we do not restore the data files the RCS in control files would be lower than the data in these scenarios files. Since online redo logs and archived newspapers is applied to the data files to roll forward in a current consistent state and does not roll forward to a control file.

    It is then mentioned to use 'recover the database by using the backup control file' then apply the logs (archive and redo if necessary).

    However I personally tested this script in a test environment and to bring all the backup control file could issue the same command as above and recover the database.

    My question is I know again and archives are applied only to the data files. So how does the control file are synchronized back when we do not restore the backup data files.

    Thank you

    If we do not restore the data files, the RCS in control files would be lower than the data files. Since online redo logs and archived newspapers is applied to the data files to roll forward in a current consistent state and does not roll forward to a control file.

    It would be incorrect you have determined. You can only restore the control files. You can manually create a control file and always do the restore.

    My question is I know again and archives are applied only to the data files. So how does the control file are synchronized back when we do not restore the backup data files.

    The control file is updated as well.

    See you soon,.

    Hello

    I run my database in noarchivelog mode. This is a database of test of pure on my laptop at home.

    Scenario of

    1 copy the existing control to another location on my PC.

    2. open the database and made some changes to the database (create tables).

    3. deletion of the existing control files.

    4 database could not be mounted.

    5. restore control of the location of backup files.

    6. the database is mounted under the mat.

    7. recovered using backup controlfile but could not recover.

    8 save the control to trace file

    9 a created control file by changing the trace file

    10. fixed using the database backup, applied to newspapers and recovered control file.

    My question is why could not recover the database in the first case of a copy of OS control files, but could recover when I manually created control file.

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. as indicated, you are in noarchive logmode (kind only OLR is used for recovery)

    2. now, you closed the database mode compatible and prior (in the db is running), you have taken a backup.

    3. the backup controlfile doesn' the changes you have made

    4. now, when you start the instance and the restoration of the controlfile back, there he changes (blurred) didn't know where in the end. The CNS is lower compared to datafile_header

    5. now you have activated 4 times files newspapers is getting crushed and change is lost at the level of the RSC and it's already emptied to the data files and controlfile (YVERT updated)

    6. then, do you think you are looking for old OLR changing

    Specify log: {=suggested | filename | AUTO | CANCEL}
    /u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb/redo02.log
    ORA-00326: log begins at change 939321, need earlier change 918423--- here the log is looking for earlier one
    ORA-00334: archived log: '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/testdb/redo02.log'

    So he could not be able to open.

    7. When you created new controlfile, he succeeded, since your last stop was in line. so the controlfile read all the headers of data file all in harmony, let me open it.

    Cause is switching to log files

  • How can I specify location of the control file when the manual creation of DB?

    When you create the database manually, we can define the control_files parameter in the init.ora as below and control file will be created at this location. Right?

    control_files = ("" / u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control01.ctl","/u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control02.ctl "")

    When I was generating the DB using DBCA GUI creation scripts, it asks to enter the location of the Online redo logs and control files.

    I entered my desired location. But, I couldn't find CONTROL_FILES parameter in the init.ora file generated the DBCA. This is why I got confused. I think that DBCA is internally somehow. So thought I'd post it here.

    Hi John, OP

    Just checked the init.ora file created by DBCA. Although the parameter CONTROL_FILES is undefined, db_create_file_dest = '+ DATA_DG1' was created. OMF default location is defined by the db_create_file_dest parameter.

    So, I could safely use this script for the manual creation of DB, and during the CREATE DATABASE command execution, oracle will place CONTROL_FILES + DATA_DG1 using the format;

  • Add other fields to sql * source file loader without including them in the control file

    Hello

    We have a file that we receive every day to an external resource. We load the file into Oracle using Sql tables * Loader!

    My question is, if external resources added more fields at the end of the file and I USED to change the control file to load (almost there will be right there without any use!)

    Will I get an error SQL * loader?

    or else, it will be fine!

    Thank you

    /HESI

    In general, SQL * Loader will simply ignore the extra fields at the end of the line.  However, there are exceptions to all rules.  To do a correct delimiter after the last field you load.  The additional fields must dressed not in the next line, unless you have authorized to do this.  If the end of the characters of the line of the source operating system do not match at the end of the characters in the line of the target operating system, then you need to deal with this in one of the various ways.  These are a few examples.

  • Why the control file does not work?

    Hello

    This is the first time that I will use SQL Loader with position.

    I started with a very simple file.

    The SAMPLE file. TXT contains:

    11111

    22222

    33333

    My table is:

    CREATE TABLE MY_TABLE

    (my_field varchar2 (5));

    And my control file is:

    DOWNLOAD THE DATA

    INFILE ' D:\USER\SAMPLE. TXT' "fix 5.

    BADFILE ' D:\USER\SAMPLE. BAD'

    DISCARDFILE ' D\USER\SAMPLE. DSC"

    IN THE TABLE "MY_TABLE".

    ADD

    (MY_FIELD POSITION (1:5) TANK)

    After launching the SQL Loader, that's what I have in my picture:

    MY_FIELD

    11111

    222

    223

    3333

    And if I try to open the fron TOAD table, for example, I see that for the second, I have a carriage return and 222 and the third, I have 22 a carriage return and 3

    Thanks in advance!

    This is because you use a fixed record format.

    In this case, the CR/LF characters are not separators Records and are included in the data.

    So first record is: 1 1 1 1 1

    2nd is: 2 2 2 \r \n

    3rd is: 2 2 \r \n 3

    etc.

    Just remove the clause of "fix." SQL * Loader will use \n or \r\n as the record terminator by default, depending on your platform (Windows apparently?)

  • Restore the control file considerations

    Hello expert,

    Assumpition condition is:

    All the data files and the redologs are not damaged, but the controlfiles are damaged. We must restore the controlfile autobackup with the following command:

    RMAN > STARTUP NOMOUNT;

    RMAN > backup RESTORE CONTROLFILE AUTOMATIC;

    RMAN > ALTER DATABASE MOUNT;

    RMAN > RECOVER DATABASE;

    RMAN > ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;

    Use of rman RECOVER, DATABASE redo logs to roll changes forward to control files. Can you explain what changes can be included? (Currently I only have one example: we add the new data file once the backup control file.) So we need roll forward the changes to control the file on the new added one.) Other examples?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Tong Ning

    Examine the contents of the controlfile.  He has the list of data files, the list of the archivelog files and list of rman backups.

    Archivelogs would be saved in the controlfile so that they can be applied.

    What about backups?  Subsequent backups would certainly no longer be in the controlfile.
