Control Panel opens at startup

Control Panel opens at startup!
How can I stop this.
I recently installed antivirus software, maybe it has affected the settings?
Any suggestions?
See you soon

Hello

First of all it will be interesting to know from when it happened. If this started after anti-virus software, there is answer to your question.

It's very strange. In any case please check in the Autostart folder if there is a shortcut in the Control Panel window. If so you can remove it and he is unbootable at commissioning.

  • Windows Explorer crashes when you open Control Panel

After starting my PC of operation Win 7 Pro (64 bit) every time I try to open the control panel for the first time, Windows Explorer stops responding forcing me to restart Windows Explorer. Once Windows Explorer restarts then Control Panel opens normally after that no matter how many times I open the Panel. Any ideas how to fix?

Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.
Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?
  • Missing audio device of the control panel.

Several days ago, I opened the control panel to troubleshoot an audio device. The Control Panel showed two audio devices:

    1: ATI PNP
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_1002 & DEV_AA01 & SUBSYS_00AA0100 & REV_1001\5 & B0AB116 & 0 & 0001
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\atihdmi.sys (7.11.0.7703, 114,00 KB (116 736 bytes), 02/09/2010 12:34 AM)
    2: REALTEK PNP
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_10EC & DEV_0888 & SUBSYS_103C2A92 & REV_1002\4 & 19 19054 & 0 & 0001 c
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\rtkvhd64.sys (6.0.1.6196, 2.37 MB (2 484 072 bytes), 07/09/2010 12:27)

Both devices are still listed under system information/system/components tools, but:

At some point during the configuration of the device from Realtek, ATI device disappeared from the control panel. Since then, I have found no way to adjust its properties, much less put on the control panel.

The only other change observed: formerly the computer sounds internal (startup, error, stop, etc.) remained internal. Now, I can hear them through the external speakers - acceptable but not optimal.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Whenever I try to change the settings for startup from the Control Panel, a pop up tells me that I need to activate Windows Defender and open

I installed Microsoft Security Essentials today and I'm trying to edit startup programs. Whenever I try to change the settings for startup from the Control Panel, a pop up tells me that I need to activate Windows Defender and open.  However, most of the security will not allow Windows Defender be turned on and I want to change the startup parameters.  How can I accomplish this?

    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And now edit startup in Vista without using Defender programs, use one of the following methods:

"How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista"

    http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html

Or the program Autoruns for FREE:

    "V11.21 Autoruns for Windows"

  • Cannot open "Change startup programs" in the control panel

Cannot open 'Change startup programs' in Control Panel. When I try to run "Start change programs", I get an error message that says: "cannot find 'C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the right name and try again. "Is there anyway that I can replace this file without having to reinstall the operating system?

    Hello

The message means there is a bad path value (probably is something that must be enclosed in quotation marks). The problem is finding * that * one is bad. Try this way:

Click Start, and type Windows Defender, and then the . Click on tools, and then click Software Explorer. It opens for you? (this is the same list that you get from the control panel). If this is not the case, how it fails?
