Convert 3702i standalone

Hi all

I'm looking for documentation on how to convert a LWAP 3702i in stand-alone mode, but not having a chance.

All the answers have been evaluated.  Thanks in advance!

Start with the image of IOS, ap3g2-k9w7 - tar.152 - 4.JB5.tar.   Then the release notes: OL-31714-02 (1) who says you're out of luck, unless you DO not want to see the Site of the investigation with the 3702!

The RN also explains how to accomplish the downgrade. (Bad Oops, just do what ios)

If it is related to the WLC, then you can cli what follows:

config ap downgrade tftp server tftp filename name-access-point address for example:

the investigation of config tftp-downgrade 192.168.1.10 ap ap3g2-k9w7 - tar.152 - 4.JB5.tar

You can also find tips for Rasika to your taste for the manual method:

  • to convert 1142N AP autonomous lightweight access point

    Hello

I have 4 1142N access points are all points of light access. Because I don't have a controller, I need to convert to standalone AP.

I went through document cisco 1142, where it is mentioned that "the access point 1142 doesn't have the default IP address"

I know procedure to convert offline in which I need to connect ap to the TFTP 10.0.0.1 with the ip address by default, but as for 1142, we do not have the default ip address. What is the procedure to convert offline?

I have to assign a pool in one of the local switch and connect the ap to these switches with vlan, so she will receive the IP address of the DHCP server?

But how can we without default IP address? I wonder about this...

If I did not turn on where I can assign pool dhcp... what should I do?

Please suggest me to convert 1142 standalone AP ap...

I will be thankful to get the right answer...

    Hi Vinod,

    Here's the resolution...

The image that is on the device's LWAPP, not the autonomous... If you want to use the AP in stand-alone mode, then the image must be W7...  It's...

    C1140-k9w7 - tar.124 - 21A .JY .tar not c1140-rcvk9w8 - tar.124 - 23c.JA.tar

Please feel free to download any image from the below link and perform the conversion of image LWAPP to stand alone...

    http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/PlatformList.x?sftType=IOS+Software&mdfid=282439881&treeName=Wireless&mdfLevel=Model&url=null&modelName=Cisco+Aironet+1140+Access+Point&isPlatform=N&treeMdfId=278875243&modifmdfid=null&imname=&hybrid=Y&imst=N

    the methos to convert is...

Download TFTPd32 of google and install it on your PC... point of the image that you downloaded on the TFTP server.

Connect a cable ethernet between your notebook and AP... both should be on the same subnet... Connect a cable from the console and access the hyperterminal console with the command... Make sure that you are able to ping the PC and AP and vice versa!

    AP > en

AP #debug lwapp console cli or debugging console cli capwap

    T AP #config

    AP (confg) int FA 0

AP(confg-IF) ip addr (same subnet as the laptop)

    End AP(confg-IF)

    Force - reload DOWNLOAD - AP #archieve sw / overwrite tftp: / /.

    Force - reload DOWNLOAD - AP #archieve sw / overwrite tftp: / /<10.0.0.5>/c1140-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JY.tar

The above command will do it for you!

Let me know if that answers your question...

You should have no problem of homelessness between two APs with the same SSID and Setup to put users on the same subnet. As far as autonomous to lwapp and vice versa, yes you can convert APs back and fourth.

  • 2702i convert offline

    Hi netpro,.

I'm having some trouble trying to get a new 2702i to convert standalone / autonomous mode.

I did what most of the articles say you should do. First SSH into AP, have it search the ios file that needs to be renamed to .default. (full name: ap3g2-k9w8 - tar.default)

What is happening is that the AP starts shooting the TFTP and then restarts. However when it restarts I can't ssh in the AP.

In my view, he pulls the same IP address or a different IP address, but I can't ssh or get webaccess in the Console AP. does not work either. I use a USB cable to the console that I know works. Here's the log to download the new file from the tftp

    Hello

Be aware that the independent IOS for the 2700 has limited features. Since the 2700 is a novelty, the standalone IOS is wireless site-only for investigation.  It is not intended to serve the customers as of yet.

You check out image ap3g2-k9w8 - tar.default starting from tftp, and such image is not just convert to standalone.

(k9w7 is a stand-alone Image), you need to download this image.

  • Ligthweigth autonomous mode!

HI, I need to change the access point Ligthwiegth IOS and make it work like an Autonomus AP 1242. I have the image, but I'm not really clear on the process. I got to get into the real point of Ligthwiegth access to the console port, but I don't know how is the process of valuation...

    I'd appreciate any advice! TKS

    Hi Paul,.

    There are 2 methods to do this, take a look;

    Returning to standalone Access Point

It is possible to return to a point of access compatible LWAPP Cisco Aironet return to autonomous mode. Please refer to Cisco Aironet Lightweight mode standalone update Access Points to get detailed instructions on the returning to stand-alone mode. Use this URL

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272

Convert a standalone Lightweight Access Point

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note in some deployments LWAPP, LWAPP controller lies between access points and the rest of the network. In this topology, all traffic must pass through the controller communicate with network resources, such as a TFTP server, can occur. When converting back to non - IOS LWAPP with an access point that uses the LWAPP Protocol is no longer, traffic does not reach on the controller to reach the TFTP server.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using a LAN Controller wireless to go back to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode using a wireless LAN Controller:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journal of step 1 in the CLI on the controller that is associated with the access point.

    Step 2, enter this command:

config ap tftp-downgrade filename tftp-address-ip access point name

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

    This doc.

Q: you say that because these are lwapp aps you are not able to navigate to them?

R: No. You must convert to standalone to take advantage of this feature, or you let the AP to join a controller and navigate via the WLC.

    Hello

My client wants to convert 2 standalone WLC as below in HA SSO redundancy. First wlc (AIR-CT5508-100-K9) has 100 licenses AP (need 50 upgrade) and second(AIR-CT5508-12-K9) there are 12 AP licenses.

The two WLCs have the same number of licenses enabled for SSO or licenses in a WLC is sufficient for SSO? Please explain.

The HA unit should have a minimum of 50 licenses of AP.  This is the 'cost' to the license HA.

Due to frequent changes in intellectual property, I can't make the console AP...

Can any body tell me what is the problem & solution... & it will be appreciated if any body share the basic configuration guide

    Thanks in advance &
Please answer as soon as POSSIBLE...

i want to use it as standalone AP for wireless Access to my users

Me bad.  Let me explain.  You need a PA running an IOS (aka autonomous) autonomous.

*Mar  1 00:18:55.021: %CAPWAP-5-DHCP_RENEW: Could not discover WLC using DHCP IP. Renewing DHCP IP.

It is the first sign that the AP is running LWAP/CAPWAP IOS image.  My first post will indicate a hyperlink to convert a standalone LWAP/CAPWAP access point.

  • 1131AG CLI commands

I try to reset an ap on its values. I can't enter in the cli, but the "Clear wr" command is not available. How to clear the config on this access point?

Also, I have configured initially access point to connect to wlc 4400, which worked great, but when you try to reconfigure the IP address of the CLI is not an option, because the command is disabled.

How to display the running-config on the ap?

This access point can be used as a standalone ap?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Carlos,

    Once that the AP has been converted to LWAPP (to work with the WLC) the ability to use the CLI interface is mainly lost. Here is the method to return to autonomous (so it can be used as stand alone);

  • connect the PC to the dedicated access point

    Hello

Is in the WLAN network as two configured SSID, one for a printers and another for a PC. It is possible to ping the printer form LAN but not PC WLAN. It is not the ACL set. Is no chance of routing between WLAN on WLC? The firewall is a layer 3 device in the network.

The controller is 2112 with 7.0.98 version of the software and all APs are in local mode. The network is flat with 16 bit mask.

The second problem is that on the Wi - Fi network that precedes some AP (1231) are converted to standalone AP mode LAP.
The network has been added to an another TOWER 1242 with external antenna.
A PC with WI - Fi wants to connect to the new TOWER even has a bad signal.
1231 model has only one external antenna and is closer than 1242.
How do to impose this PC is always connect to 1231, is possible to configure on WLC?

    Kamil

    Hi Kelly,

    1) check on the 'blocking of the peer to peer' option on the configuration of your SSID. You want to disable.

    (2) the customer himself decides where it wants to connect. If she's stupid drivers that make it to connect to an access point not 'best' you can not do much.

    Only things you can do:

    -updated client drivers

-enable or disable the load balancing across WLC. There is no best setting. Basically load balancing prevents clients to connect to APs that are already occupied. So, if it is currently enabled, maybe your AP 1230 is occupied?

  • Adding the video resourses to PDF in acrobat

I created a document of digital publication in indesign CS6.

It is 44 pages long and includes videos and animations.

I exported the entire document as a SWF file, and then I placed this SWF in a single page indesign document and exported as an interactive PDF.

Everything works fine in Acrobat wait do not play videos.

I found that indesign created a folder with my video resourse and I should be able to add them to my interactive PDF file.

So I opened my interactive PDF in acrobat and when I click on the SWF button Add a big white box appears with a logo flash inside.

I can resize the box or delete the box and when I do I just see a blank white page. The content of my interactive presentation 44 page disappears.

    Help, please. Thank you

If the ActionScript inside the generative FSV waiting for resources in a subfolder named, they must be in the same subfolder in the collection resources of the PDF. Either create one by hand with the tools of the dialog box, or import the folder itself rather than the files it contains.

Converting individual standalone swf animations is very well (even if it is normally done in Flash Pro or catalyst, so you can control what external assets are used and generate more efficient code). That's what the person in the message 4637240 is told to do - they refer to a single annotation in a 1-page layout - but the idea that a video annotation must be converted into a SWF file is simply not true. Simply that export the INDD presentation to Interactive PDF and they will work - Adobe knows what they are doing, they create PDFs for 20 years.
