Ligthweigth autonomous mode!

HI, I need to change the access point Ligthwiegth IOS and make it work like an Autonomus AP 1242. I have the image, but I'm not really clear on the process. I got to get into the real point of Ligthwiegth access to the console port, but I don't know how is the process of valuation...

I'd appreciate any advice! TKS

Hi Paul,.

There are 2 methods to do this, take a look;

Returning to standalone Access Point

It is possible to return to a point of access compatible LWAPP Cisco Aironet return to autonomous mode. Please refer to Cisco Aironet Lightweight mode standalone update Access Points to get detailed instructions on the returning to stand-alone mode. Use this URL

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272

Convert a standalone Lightweight Access Point

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note in some deployments LWAPP, LWAPP controller lies between access points and the rest of the network. In this topology, all traffic must pass through the controller communicate with network resources, such as a TFTP server, can occur. When converting back to non - IOS LWAPP with an access point that uses the LWAPP Protocol is no longer, traffic does not reach on the controller to reach the TFTP server.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using a LAN Controller wireless to go back to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode using a wireless LAN Controller:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journal of step 1 in the CLI on the controller that is associated with the access point.

Step 2, enter this command:

config ap tftp-downgrade filename tftp-address-ip access point name

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

  • Mode conversion controller in stand-alone mode in cisco 1702

    I have cisco AP 1702 and in controller mode. I don't have the controller so want to convert in stand-alone mode. I went through various items for this and found this interesting way to do.

    Run this command to convert:

    # swarm - Standalone mode
    # reload

    I found this on this link: http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Controller-less-WLANs/How-to-conve...

    Similarly, going through the longer process, I downloaded this for the standalone mode: https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281141&flowid=...

    and for stand-alone mode, I have this one: https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281141&flowid=...

    Here are the files I'm looking for?

    Help, please.

    This original link can cause a headache for an Aruba AP which is different.

    Try this method:

    https://ripplesinharmony.WordPress.com/2013/01/28/downgrading-a-Cisco-lightweight-AP-to-autonomous-mode/

    The software of the first link you posted (https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=286281141&flowid=71622&softwareid=284180979&release=15.3.3-JC1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest) will work for the standalone mode (stand-alone).

    This second link is light which means the controller-based and you don't want that for this scenario.

  • High utilization of the processor in Mode VSS when traffic through the internet.

    Hi all

    I have a problem with the installation of VSS. The VSS service install act as a central office switch of transit for internet traffic and the problem arises when there are about 600 Mbps of traffic through the switch. We notice that there are a lot of packages being softswitch and the rate is quite high, almost like 100 to 200 k per second.

    The VSS switch manages ospf and BGP and have plenty of internet routing. After investigation of high CPU usage, I noticed that the AAGR switch is full and has tried to set the course of max mls to the maximum cef and restarted the VSS service.

    Unfortunately, the problem persists after restarting.

    We had planned to filter the full internet routes and enable by default and ospf route only in the VSS service and restart the VSS service to make sure that the table AAGR is not overloaded.

    If I fail the next step is to return to autonomous mode and hope that the processor will not pull up.

    My Question: These step will prevent the issue? Suggestions or the reference similar to the problem I am facing in?

    Hello Sophie,.

    unless you have a PFC 3CXL and all the DFCs the AAGR 3CXL can manage only 256 000 IP prefixes and nowdays that complete a table is in order or 310-320 000 routes.

    See

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps9336/product_data_sheet0900aecd806ed759_ps708_Products_Data_Sheet.html

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps708/product_data_sheet09186a0080159856.html

    See table 1 in the second link it tells what I wrote in the first line.

    > We planned to filter the full internet routes and enable by default and ospf route only in the VSS service and restart the VSS service to make sure that the table AAGR is not overloaded.

    You should not need the device after accepting only the default route in OSPF or BGP AAGR use will be greatly reduced this is just wait a few minutes (unless there is an underlying SW bug) for the MSFC to update CFP and then all DFCs

  • Explanations requested before the BIOS update

    I read in the FAQ of this web site to update the BIOS:
    "Before upgrading the BIOS, please respect the following rules:
    -Portable is in stand-alone mode.
    -Laptop is plugged into the mains.
    -Laptop computer must be in boot mode and not recovery mode.
    -Remove all PC cards. »

    Can someone explain to me the meaning of phrases "laptop is in autonomous mode" and "the laptop is plugged in" because I do not understand?

    I don't speak English very well so use very simple words, please.

    Hello

    It's very simple.

    Regarding-> "laptop is in stand-alone mode.
    Some series of laptop computer can be connected to the docking station.
    If you want to update the BIOS on this laptop please make sure that the laptop is not connected to the docking station in the BIOS update process!

    Regards-> phone is plugged into the mains
    The laptop can run either with the power of the battery or can be plugged into the mains (AC adapter).
    During the BIOS update process the notebook must be connected to the power adapter and do NOT use the battery!

    Hope I could clear some misunderstandings.

    By the way; The update of the BIOS is risky. Please make sure you use the good BIOS!

  • My T540p turns off an AC to work on drums and never returns back

    Since the last device of management power Lenovo update (somewhere 6-13 Oct 2015), my T540p jumps out of his power and never returns back, until I have turn it off and disconnect the battery.

    When I start Windows 10 after the battery is disconnected, it loads for a few minutes and then to the battery. Whatever I do after that - Plug and unplug the power adapter, change to another adapter (I have a spare), extinction, reboot, poweroff connect AC - nothing works. When I disconnect the battery and plug back - normal behavior is restored.

    I have dual boot on my T540p with linux (Gentoo, kernel 4.2.3). Linux works OK. The problem appears only when I boot Windows 10.

    It turned out that Windows has jumped to a special power - autonomous mode. Once I turn it back into balance, the battery took over. I couldn't understand what Windows switch to the mode of independent power supply.

    It's very sad that CE supports standalone through reboots and poweroffs. It is not logical to disable the battery charge when the machine is turned off completely.

  • [SOLVED] What mechanisms could cease my audio plug-ins (dll) to refresh the view in response to the actions of the mouse

    Hello.

    I have a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) app. It uses 3rd party secondary applications to provide instruments and sound effects. They are called audio plugins. They are essentially the DLLs that contain the effect/instrument (applet) or provides the shell she. Applets are of two kinds. DXi and VST.

    When I run one of these cmdlets in any kind, they usually provide a Visual for the first actions a mouse or two response (for example by pressing a button or if you turn a knob) but then refresh the applet screen freezes. The mouse actions are still being processed - I can here the changes, but the screen of the applet is not updating. If I close the applet and then open it again, the changes previously not displayed are now visible.

    There is the ability to run some of these cmdlets in the so-called autonomous mode, where a small .exe file is used to invoke/host of the dll. The cmdlets that have this, work very well in this mode. The other windows in the DAW work very well.

    To begin to address this problem, I need to understand the mechanisms under Windows XP Pro 32-bit (fully updated and .net4) by which an applet would have its screen updated. I guess that there is a call system with a description and a chain of connections that has to happen for that to happen or stop.

    Or if you just know how to solve this problem (no one seems so far) the answer would be even more useful.

    Best regards & thanks,

    SJ

    Hi plectrum.

    It was Windows services. I'm not sure the RAM being blocked even though my machine is light enough. There are only a small number of applications audio and all windows XP management services have been used. The advantage of the Sonar, it is quite complete. I just used it and freebies from Native instruments.

    This problem is something that has occurred at some point in the last six months, less than 8.5 and before the free NOR, when I remember vaguely a document with sessiondrummer at this time. It's just something I "necessary" to notice since X 1 has been on a couple of weeks. The actual sonar projects seem to go better under X 1 than 8.5. The behavior of the machine in general gives the indication of any permutation of excessive page to compensate for the blockage RAM.

    Having said that, I recognize and approve your excessive services point will seize resources RAM and which can lead to a particular behavior - which it certainly was. However, unless I take the time to find the offending boot service and reproduce the fault I am not able to confirm that the cause was RAM clogging.

    Kind regards

  • Ordered the wrong access point!

    I thought that I had ordered a 1130ag but looks like I ordered a 1131ag LWWAP.

    Please could someone tell me what the difference between a 1130 and 1131. I understand I can load the IOS on the light AP software using a tftp server, but I do not know which exit to load on this subject. 12.3JX, 12.3JA, 12.3JEA, 12.3JEB! can anyone help please? either by the way, I am in the United Kingdom, do not know if this affects image to install. Thank you.

    Hi Paul,.

    This happens all the time, so it shouldn't be a problem :) I'm guessing that you have received this AP - AIR - LAP1131AG - x - K9 LWAPP. When you really wanted this AP - AIR-AP1131G-x-K9 Cisco IOS software. Look at the comparison;

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6087/products_data_sheet0900aecd801b901c.html

    That being said, you should be good to go with 12.3 (11) JA1.

    To access Cisco Aironet to Cisco IOS version 12.3 Points (11) JA1

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/iOS/release/notes/b11jar1n.html

    Cisco IOS version 12.3 (11) JA1 supports 32 MB independent platforms. 16 MB platforms and platforms supported by Cisco IOS version 12.3 (8) JA and earlier versions (350, 1100, 1130, 1200 and 1230 access points and access point/bridge 1300 series) are supported by Cisco IOS version 12.3 (8) JEA1.

    Do not install a "JX" (it is a software image support to upgrade and recovery Cisco Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP));

    These release notes describe features, improvements, and caveats for Cisco IOS release 12.3 (11) JX1.

    Note: This version must be loaded on points of access to the plant or by using the lightweight stand-alone mode upgrade tool. Your access point may become unusable if you install this software without using the upgrade tool.

    Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

    Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

    Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

  • AIR-LAP1252AG-E-K9 flashing yellow red green

    Hello

    I just started a new 1252 access point and I get status flashes green red yellow + green ethernet / flashing orange flashing radio.

    The AP responds to the ping, but I can not telnet it.

    I understoods flashing scheme if that AP is not find the DC that I did not.

    I bought this access point to work in autonomous mode and it seems that it is not loaded for this. When I try to download the IOS file to switch to standalone mode, I got an error not allowed as I don't have a service contract.

    How can I use the AP in standalone mode?

    Thank you

    Hi Stephane,

    You must get their hands on the standalone IOS (aIOS) to successfully convert your AP LWAP in autonomous.

    Contact the Cisco reseller if they can download the firmware for you.

  • LabelButton blurred embedded fonts in the Simulator and the rendering of the fonts of the differences

    Hey people, party

    I have problems with the fonts embedded in LabelButton not made cleary by operating in the Simulator. They are crunchy when added stand alone. The button is on whole pixels and I double checked that the text in the button field is also on a set of pixels.

    My code:

    public class GenericLabelButton extends LabelButton
        {
            protected var labelStr:String;

            public function GenericLabelButton(labelStr:String)

                format.size=16;
                format.color=0x000000;
                format.align=TextFormatAlign.CENTER;

    Everyone knows this? Is font_helveticaNeue a bad font to use for the development of the PlayBook? Should I use the native font instead?

    I would also add that I use the police elsewhere in my application as a plain text field and it makes fine/crisp in the Simulator.

    I could use the native components wholesale, but I tell myself that I should at least try to use my own fonts.

    And while on the subject of the native LabelButton...

    Why text makes it differently in the Simulator this autonomous? The bg of the LabelButton doesn't resize correctly when I use the Simulator. Should I have the fonts installed on the host computer?

    Whoops - just realized I wrote this for you questions about LabelButton, and TextInput in which case you will need to use the textfield label_txt as you have already done (this is the default TextField fom flash.text).

    Embedded fonts will make in the TextInput QNX on the Simulator, as they do with TextInput fl.controls Flash; 100 times greater than the vector shapes.

    To make them look good, you need to change some properties of the TextInput textField.

    You can adjust the sharpness and thickness to your taste. The gridFitType property can also help alone. I have not tested it without the custom of the AA, however settings.

    _textInput.textField.antiAliasType = AntiAliasType.ADVANCED;
    _textInput.textField.sharpness = 1;
    _textInput.textField.thickness = 25;
    _textInput.textField.gridFitType = GridFitType.PIXEL;

    I have attached a before and after the screenshot of the Simulator. Unlike my screenshot, make sure the size of your type TextInput and/or its TextField correctly do not cut the Downhillers. Myriad Pro is displayed.

  • Questions about Flexconnect

    Hello all,.

    I'm confused about Flexconnect.

    1. when the AP to dissociate themselves from the WLC, AP turn away from standalone mode aotomatically, right?

    2. what AP in stand-alone mode, the AP will authenticate the client itself, right?

    3. in autonomous mode, authentication information for AP store in a non-volatile memory, is this means no radius server should be used for authentication, PSK can only be used? What a new customer wants to connect a standalone AP? What is the username and password must be used for this new customer? (guess that's the first time that the client would connect to this access point.)

    4. in stand-alone mode, we should deploy the local DHCP server for the client, right?  How to avoid duplication of the IP?  given a unique IP address space for that?

    Please explain kindly above question for me, thank you.

    1. When AP disassociate to the WLC, the AP will divert to standalone mode aotomatically, right ?
    Yes
    2.when AP in standalone mode , the AP will authenticate the client by itself, right ?
    Only if your wireless network is configured with "local authentication".
    3. In standalone mode, AP store authentication information in nonvolatile memory, is that means no radius server should be used for authentication ,only PSK can be used ?How about a new client want to connect a standalone AP ? What is the username and password should be used for this new client ?(assume this is the first time the client connect to this ap. )
    No, 802. 1 X also supported. In stand-alone mode, AP himself acting as authenticator & communicate with the RADIUS server (we assume that the server RADIUS same WLC still available is down). 4.In standalone mode ,We should deploy local DHCP server for client , right? How to avoid IP overlapping ? required an unique IP address space for this ?
    Generally FlexConnect, route you the traffic locally in the direction of switches. So ideal for the DHCP service locally in the branch. HTH Rasika * Pls note all useful responses *.

  • 2702i convert offline

    Hi netpro,.

    I'm having some trouble trying to get a new 2702i to convert standalone / autonomous mode.

    I did what most of the articles say you should do. First SSH into AP, have it search the ios file that needs to be renamed to .default. (full name: ap3g2-k9w8 - tar.default)

    What is happening is that the AP starts shooting the TFTP and then restarts. However when it restarts I can't ssh in the AP.

    In my view, he pulls the same IP address or a different IP address, but I can't ssh or get webaccess in the Console AP. does not work either. I use a USB cable to the console that I know works. Here's the log to download the new file from the tftp

    APf8c2.88bc.75fc #archive download-sw/force-reload / crush tftp://192.168.1.147/ap3g2-k9w8-tar.default

    Hello

    Be aware that the independent IOS for the 2700 has limited features. Since the 2700 is a novelty, the standalone IOS is wireless site-only for investigation.  It is not intended to serve the customers as of yet.

    You check out image ap3g2-k9w8 - tar.default starting from tftp, and such image is not just convert to standalone.

    (k9w7 is a stand-alone Image), you need to download this image.

  • 2 SSID and VLAN on each access point

    I'm new to Setup IOS APs and wireless, in particular, a couple of 1142Ns in autonomous mode and are looking for answers and examples. These APs will be connected to the POE on an ASA 5505 firewall ports. I also set up the 5505.

    The requirements are that each AP have a SSID 'internal' and 'external' and each AP will have two VLANS.

    The APs should allow roaming between them.

    Internal SSID will allow full access to the company's internal network and the Internet and will use WPA2. It will use the corporate dhcp server and the dhcp server to use IOS to distribute addresses.

    The external SSID will not have access to the Internet and use WEP. The ASA 5505 provide dhcp on these clients.

    The two ports PoE on the ASA 5505 will be shared resources for inside and dmz VLAN.

    If anyone has examples of any of these conditions, observations or similar config they are willing to share, please post them.

    In particular, I would like to see an example of homelessness config Setup VLAN, SSID config and Setup WPA2 and WEP.

    Thanks in advance.
