How can I convert current Cox Webmail for Outlook Express for e-mail? Please answer in plain English and in easy to follow terms

Assuming your Windows 7 running, you must download and install a Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird e-mail client or use Outlook (not free). Outlook Express does not work and you cannot install it on Windows 7.

Once do you set up your e-mail like this client...

Assuming that your use of the Cox HSI Classic Webmail compared to the most recent Beta Enhanced Webmail you can go in your address (Contacts) list, select all your contacts and export them to a MS Outlook Express formatted. CSV file, which you can then import into all this customer e-mail and address book you are using. There is currently no way to export contacts from the improved beta Webmail interface. • I'm going through webmail with cable cox to outlook or outlook express, but finds it difficult to get the emails to my wife separately from mine.

    Change outlook web mail

I'm going through webmail with cable cox to outlook or outlook express, but finds it difficult to get the emails to my wife separately from mine.  Not sure how they get along with the different email address.  I tried setting up separate accounts and profiles in outlook 2003 and have also tried to separate identities and accounts in outlook express 6.  Any help would be appreciated. TKS Joe Novick

I can't speak for Outlook, even if it is very similar, but if you have configured the real separate identity in OE, as in needing to switch identities with it, avoid a problem unless you use both the same e-mail address.

If you use different addresses to your identity, go to tools | Accounts and remove its identity. Vice versa in its identity.

I use Cox and were three addresses in the three identities without problem.

  • Convert .dbx to .pst Outlook files (from outlook express).

    Hey guys,.

I have searched and tried all the suggestions from Google, but they are not the solutions that I can use. I have the entire Outlook Express .dbx folder just 2 files. I need to convert .pst or at least be able to import them into Outlook 2007. I was able to recover only 2 files .dbx from the old computer and am running WIndows 7 Professional with Outlook 2007 on the new computer that I want to get the 2 .dbx files in. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Google shows some converters free and paid, and some of those paid have a trial period.
    http://www.Google.com/search?q=dbx+to+eml+converter&RLS=com.Microsoft: en - us & ie = UTF-8 & oe = UTF-8 & startIndex = & startPage = 1

Note that I've never used Outlook or a converter, it's just a guess. When you use OE, you could drag a folder in OE messages in a Windows folder on the desktop. You can then copy this folder on another machine, open it, highlight all messages and drag them into a folder in OE. Or drag them to a folder in Windows Live Mail. I guess if you got messages as eml, you could drag them into an Outlook folder as well.

  • I can't send or receive e-mails via Outlook Express. I can access through my ISP webmail.

    Outlook Express problems

I can't send or receive e-mails via Outlook Express.

I can access through my ISP webmail.

In short and in laymans terms (I'm not a tech wiz) the automatic link between my ISP and Outlook Express does not work.

I also lost all my emails in the Inbox.

I run a Windows XP Home Edition.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Search for interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  Then go to file | Identities and establish a new identity.  Add your email account and see if it works very well.  If so, you can go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.

Then, if you lost messages, check the trash and the message of the old identity store bak files that are backups of dbx files that you can retrieve (see point 2 on the page above).  If there is no bak file, then my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) has an excerpt from disc feature that will analyze the entire hard drive for messages and if they are still there, it will recover them.

  • access to electronic mail with outlook express och webmail

I get emails with outlook express on a computer using Windows XP.

I can't access the same e-mails with webmail on another computer using Windows7.

I guess that emails may be erased in the server.

How can I get the same emails on both computers?

Thanks a lot for your help, Walter Widl

In OE, go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and check the leave a copy of messages on the server.  By default, they are deleted when you check mail.

You did not indicate EO to leave a copy of messages on the server, so when he downloaded from the server, they have been removed from it.  Go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and check the box leave a copy on the server for the future.

  • Is there a way to convert Windows Live e-mail and files folders in Outlook Express format?

I made the mistake (severe) a few years previously to install Windows Live Mail and Outlook Express abandonment on my Windows XP computer.  Now, I would run parallel iMAC and Windows messaging systems and e-mail iMAC tool does not recognize Windows Live Mail as mbox files. Therefore, I can't import Windows Live Mail in the iMAC email tool.  To add insult to injury, Microsoft Outlook email tool on the iMAC is import the Windows Live mail.  (No use asking, I guess, why Microsoft would enact incompatible messaging formats without integrating converters through the indexing schemes).  In short, is it possible to return to Outlook Express?

    Hello
I suggest you according to the question in this forum and check if that helps:

  • can't send email on outlook express. Incoming is OK.

0x800ccc6d error code. Have tried with any message or an attachment. My COX homepage and email is fine. Messaging by default for Outlook ok, but can not send.

Outlook or Outlook Express? Two different programs.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced - uncheck: leave a copy of messages on the server. Go to Cox Webmail and delete the messages there.

If that is fixed, send the exact error message.

  • What should I do to be able to access my email (outlook express) from another computer?

    Outlook express e-mail

What should I do to be able to access my email (outlook express) from another computer?  I don't see new emails.  I want to be able view outlook express the same when I view it on my main computer.

In fact, I'll leave the window (use to be called Outlook express) mail to webmail.

If Cox is your provider, the only way to deliver the messages on the server must send to yourself, which of course will screw up all the message headers.

  • After transfer from XP to Win7 I don't see on the Outlook Express folder

I am convert Outlook Express on Windows XP running on Thunderbird running on Windows 7. I installed Thunderbird on my XP computer and took the import of Outlook Express which created the Outlook Express import file that does contain not all emails that I wanted to remember. I installed Thunderbird on my Windows 7 computer and copied the Windows XP profile folder. Because profile names were different, I changed the value in the profile.ini file as well as in the parameter settings in Thunderbird to match this copied value. However, I don't see the folder Outlook Express from Thunderbird. If I navigate under the profile folder structure I see the Outlook Express import records. Any help in accessing these data would be useful. Since I was still all the data on my XP machine I can if necessary reinstall Thunderbird.

Eureka! I tried a finish and it worked. Tools > import. Then I selected mail only > next > Outlook Express and then I sailed to the Outlook Express folder already under the folder Thunderbird Mail and even if he says nothing has been imported the structure of this file and I can see and access emails from Outlook Express.

  • Can I import files of Outlook Express mail from a broken PC disk?

The XP System I used for e-mail for years died. The hard drive is OK. My mail is on it. I was wondering if I could import the e-mail folders in Thunderbird on my new PC for Windows 8.1 install the hard drive from the old PC and pointing Thunderbird for mail Outlook Express store on the old drive. Clear Outlook Express isn't alive on the new PC, so the usual instructions "import" seem not to apply. However, what I want to do looks like it should be possible.

You need convert DBX files by using third-party programs. I have a blog post here http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/outlook-express.html with links to undbx. It's free, but a command line tool. If you want a GUI, it is one of the best offer in my experience. http://www.maildev.com/buy/ , but it will cost you.
