    Yik

    NO! what you do is-

    • Create a new project

    • Add existing project folder

    • Save > to the previous version

    • Select a new folder when prompted

LabVIEW will be "copy" of the vi in the folder to the new location and recompile all the files in the folder of the previous version of LabVIEW

  • Conversion of LV 6.1 live in LV 9.0.1

    Hi all

I just returned to work for an employer of old, and it turns out that they have all my old screws on the server, in 2006 and earlier.  They were all written in LabVIEW 6.1 - 5.  However, now that I'm using LV2009, I can't open any of my old programs with my new software.

We have still a valid license for 6.1 and I have a machine with 6.1, but I wish you to have access to my old programs with LV2009.  Is it possible to convert or change my old screws make that happen?

    Thank you

    Hey Forbes,

have you seen this link to a thread named "upconvert applications" in the section of the announcement of the forum (top of page)?

BTW. LV9 opens the screw from version 6.0 according to the help, if you need only to convert the LV5 screws and earlier LV6.1 to open them with LV9!

  • LV7.1 and LV2009 on the same PC

I have now LV7.1, LV8.0, LV 2009 loaded on my laptop.

However when I try to open a VI in LV7.1 which has many functions DAQMX, I'm totally stuck. When I loaded LV2009, responsible DAQMX version has been 8.9 and LV7.1 believes now that it is impossible to manage these new features.

Also I am now unable to load DAQMX 8.01 (since I have a newer version), which was used when developing with the LV7.1.

Not two different versions DAQMX drivers can co-exist on the same PC without conflict?

OR support for LabVIEW 7.1 fell a few DAQmx versions ago. Later does not support 8.0. You can't have that one version of DAQmx installed at once, so you have only a few options. One is to use a separate computer for each version. Another is to use a virtual machine on your pc for each version. Another is to convert all your screws LabVIEW 2009 7.1/8.0.

  • LabVIEW crash upon registration of LV2012 to LV2011 with VI express and reopen in LV2012

    Hi all

    Prerequisites:

    1. Save the 'angular Position - buffer - Cont - Sync HERE sample Clk.vi soul' for a previous version of LabVIEW, in this case from LV2012 to LV2011

    2. Reopen the VI LV2011 in LV2012 according to the steps below.

    Steps to crash:

    1. Unzip Crash.zip

    2. Open the 'angular Position-buffer-Cont-Sync THE sample Clk.vi soul' and from there double click on (open) the 'PulsedDerivative.vi' and from there double click the express VI "derivative dX/dt.

    3. LabVIEW crashes!

Otherwise what LabVIEW not breaks down:

    1. Unzip Crash.zip

    2. Open 'PulsedDerivative.vi '.

    3. Inside of the VI, double-click the express VI "derivative dX/dt.

    4. LabVIEW is not breaks down?

    A bug in the compiler?

  • Easy way to convert screw screws from 2012 to 2011

    Community of greetings OR.

Quick question - I hope so fast - I have written screws in 2012, but some people I work with that ask me to send them in 2011. And I thought you could cut and paste, and unfortunately, I discovered you can do that!

Is there a way of "back - convert" screw screws from 2012 to 2011 for those who have not upgraded to 2012 yet?

    Thank you!

  • What is the best approach to the conversion of the LV7.1 tags to the variables shared by several screws LV2012?

What is the best approach for the upgrade of the DSC-LV2012/LV7.1/DSC static variable tags in several screws running on several platforms? Our system is made up of about 5 PC running Windows 2000/LV7.1 DURATION, the more a PLC and a PDC running XP/SP3/LV2012. About 3 PC publish information from the sensor through tags on the local network to the PDC. Only the main command is currently being upgraded. Basic questions:

    1. the other computers running RTÉ 7.1 (with labels) will be able to communicate with the PDC running 2012 (shared variables)?

    2. is it necessary for conversion of tags shared variables, or the deprecated legacy tag screws of LV7.1 work in LV2012?

3 all of the main controllers will be screw must be integrated in a project in order to use shared variables?

4 is the only way to do it is to find all the tags and replace them with elements of shared variable?

Thank you in advance with all the information and advice!

Datasockets are the common middle only my knowledge between versions, so apart from the upgrade to the same version, they will probably be your best bet.

  • More 1997 PCI - CAN, how to put NIDeviceNet.llb screw LV6.1 to LV2012

    Hello

I've got this old system on Windows 2000. There * a lot * of calls to the screw in the LabVIEW 6.1 DeviceNet.llb, called DNET screws...

If I've upgraded to LabVIEW 2012 and got a new NI PXI-8532, what it would be like to get the old code to work? Is there a new library / api for LabVIEW for devicenet? Or all the screws in the current library of devicenet LabVIEW have the same names and Connector components as in LabVIEW 6.1?

(I talked to a very good industrial AE to Com, but why can't I use my Premier Support to speak to one * DeviceNet * specialist at OR?)

  • Screw system configuration return a code error-2147220608 in LV2013 but not in LV2012 on my system sbRIO

I worked to deploy a minor correction to an existing system that has worked. Part of this upgrade was to move to LV2013. The configuration of the system live that I used successfully in LV2012 to change the comment and the host name of the error code return now target sbRIO-2147220608 in 2013 when I try to save the changes. By looking at the detailed of the Save Changes (System) .vi result output, I get the message "the IP address and the gateway must be on the same subnet." The problem is twice 1) I'm not change the IP address or gateway on the system and 2) IP address and the gateway are preconfigured by MAX OR 10.0.1.155 and 10.0.0.3 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0. Based on my understanding and conversations with my COMPUTER service is a valid combination.

    Help?

    Warrior of wire

    Hello

R & D work on implementing a fix for this bug. In the meantime, here is a workaround:

If you write the correct IP address and write the host name and the comment, then your backup will be successful. We realize that this is not a very pretty or intuitive solution, but it should work until a fix is implemented.

  • The data type double in CT that is converted to PDM

    Hi all
In short, to be able to remove channels and groups of a PDM file, I convert the file to a tdm, delete channel or group storage using screws and the convert to PDM. The problem is when tdms is converted to tdm, double data types (64-bit) became simple types (32-bit). Original tdms file has double inside, but CT and resulting tdms files have singles.
Attachment VI made things I mentioned above. After execution of the it, I open tdms - 1.tdms in Excel with importing tdm (v3.3.0.0) and data type is DT_DOUBLE. But in the files tdm.tdm and PDM - 2.tdms, data types are DT_FLOAT. So the question is, is there a way to prevent duplicate converted to singles?

Note: I convert the files tdms tdm, screw that removes channels and storage groups do not work with the PDM format.
    p.s. I'm on LV2011.

    Hello

This is a known bug, CAR 399895. We'll fix it in the future.

In your LabVIEW, you can try to change the next VI.

\\vi.lib\Platform\storage\utility\_DP2TDMData.VI, in the case of "DT_DOUBLE", please select instance Float64.

    Hope this helps,

  • Convert file communication labview vi file

How convert on design communication Labview in Labview .vi file and vice versa?

    Hello Joseph,.

    Thanks for joining the community!

There is a Code Conversion utility that converts the screws in this.

    http://www.NI.com/download/code-conversion-utility-for-LabVIEW-communications-1.0/5093/en/

This is not a conversion opporuntiy. We recommend that you test your code after conversion to confirm its operation. This is because currently LabVIEW Communications support all LabVIEW features, such as event Structures.

Unfortunately, there is no method to convert this screw is because the LabVIEW Communications has a different set of functions that are not supported in LabVIEW, such as the diagram of multiple rates.
