convert .mailsignature in text?

In updating my OS to 10.11, I lost 120 signatures of e-mail created more than 15 years.   Seems there is no way to re-import them in mail via Time Machine, but is it possible to convert text signature files?  Tried to open it in TextEdit, Safari, and a few other apps, and while the necessary text is here, he is surrounded by empty symbols of meaning. I would like to rectify the real text so I can copy and paste.   Any way to do it?

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    This can be done better with Adobe Photoshop CS5 http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/compare/ which is about the gold standard for working with documents of the image - but it's a bit expensive.  It also won't be easy even with this program - it is possible but it will take time and effort.

    If you do not Photoshop, you can use the tool text box in Microsoft Word or picture in Microsoft Publisher - even if they are quite a bit more difficult to work with Photoshop (which is hard) and the results will not look as good, regardless of how carefully you use. The advantage of Word on the editor, is that you have the possibility to use a Wordart object and 3D text. So these are the vector graphics as opposed to a bitmap will not appear on your final print rasterized (but this isn't a problem with Photoshop)

    Quality is really about how much the text superimposed on the image - if it is separate, it will be much easier than if it is covering the picture (so the question is how to fix the image once the text is deleted or changed and not only to change the text).  And it may not be a simple matter to simply correct a word or two, if you do not have the same font available - you may need to change the entire text, so it will look right.

    Another solution is to use OCR software to scan the image, and then try to modify the text.  Still, it won't be easy (probably even harder than the options above) but it's a possibility (depending on how the text is mixed with the image).  The problem here is that most of the options just freeware have the ability to make such a complex task, so you would probably need a comprehensive program of recommended.  Here are some options:http://www.simpleocr.com/OCR_Software_Guide.asp.  What you should do the work is also quite expensive and if you choose this option or the above options depends on what other uses you may have for these programs (and the quality you're looking for in the finished product), once again, I don't think something will do the job as well as Photoshop - I have Photoshop (an earlier version) and I never tried to do it before I did a bunch of other things that would seem impossible.  I don't want to attempt this task if the text superimpose the image, because although I think it would be possible, it would take a LOT of time and effort to obtain a finished product of acceptable quality.

    Technically, you could use Microsoft Paint to do this, but the quality would probably (which are certainly) be terrible and I doubt you want to even keep yourself let alone print it or send it to someone else.  In some cases, it might do the trick but it's free (again, depending on where to find the text and especially if she superimposes the image).

    Regarding the conversion of the JPG file, I'm not sure what turn you to who would make it easier to change and change as you suggest here.  Perhaps TIFF, but it helps very much.  Here are some converters of JPG files:http://convert-jpg.software.informer.com/.  Even if you converted to a .doc file, you could just open it and change the text - it is not as simple as that.

    Another option would be to convert the JPG file in a file of CAD and CAD software allows you to edit the image - but I'm not familiar with CAD products so I can't offer recommendations here (except that I heard that most working properly are still more expensive than the above options and they can be used just about everything).

    Whatever you decide to do, it won't be easy (and perhaps costly as well).  There are freeware programs that claim to be able to do these things, but you will not be disappointed by the quality (unless the text is separated from the image, you can totally erase what's there and replace it with the one you want).  For them, you can search on Bing, Google,www.tucows.comand www.download.com.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Hi all

    I put a word to indesign cs 5.5 file is almost in a single table, I need to separate the text of the actual tables, is it possible to convert the selected text in javascript lines?

    If there is no way to do that, someone can help me to make a script to cut selected lines and place it in the right holders of the table pointer to make independent table and then convert to text?

    Hey brother,

    Simply select the rows or cells represent the lines and then run this Javascript code snippet:

    for (var r = 0; r < app.selection.length; r++) {
        for (var t = 0; t < app.selection[r].rows.length; t++) {
            for (var u = 0; u < app.selection[r].rows[t].cells.length; u++) {
                for (var c = 0; c < app.selection[r].rows[t].cells[u].paragraphs.length; c++) {
                    app.selection[r].rows[t].cells[u].paragraphs[0].move (LocationOptions.AFTER, app.selection[r].rows[t].parent.parent.storyOffset);
                    if (c < app.selection[r].rows[t].cells[u].paragraphs.length - 1)
                        app.selection[r].rows[t].parent.parent.storyOffset.contents += "\r";
                }
                if (u < app.selection[r].rows[t].cells.length - 1) {
                    app.selection[r].rows[t].parent.parent.storyOffset.contents += "\t";
                }
                else {
                    app.selection[r].rows[t].parent.parent.storyOffset.contents += "\r";
                }
            }
        }
    }

        for (var t = app.selection[r].rows.length - 1; t >= 0; t--) {
            app.selection[r].rows[t].remove ();

    Well, you can not convert the items non-text entexte becase they are not text!  You can convert text into editable text layers.

  • Create a PDF from Word 2010 file is not correctly convert pictures and text boxes

    I have 11 Acrobat and my co-workers with 9 and 10 can correctly convert Word documents with images and text boxes, but v.11 cut the text and is not convert the images correctly.

    Hey Luke,

    You may need to check with other files in Word also to analyze whether the problem is with word or Acrobat.

    Open a word document, add images, then try to convert it to PDF using the Adobe PDF printer as PDFMaker option well.

    Let me know what happens.

    In addition, to make Adobe PDF as default printer and check.

    You could even go in PDFMaker preferences and uncheck the option "enable accessibility and reflow with tagged Adobe PDF" on the tab "settings".

    If that don't work, then please share the file with me by e-mail (email ID sent via private message) so that I can check my end.

  • How can I change the height of text without converting them vectorised text?

    I work in a sign company and often need to put in place the text in a specific size. When the text is CAPS, it isn't so bad, but in the case of title case, it can be a pain...

    For example, if I need letters 2 "high, it would generally be compared to the uppercase version of the first letter of the word (no matter the ascending and descending).

    A few times I need to make several at once, so change them individually are very tedious when I cPV every word to outlines, then aletters of each word to make up for the ascendants and descendants of aresurrection.

    I wonder if there is a faster way to do this without convert curves?  In addition, I notice that when I change the size of the font (in the character palette) to 2 ", for example, when describing the text is actually smaller.

    signguy (There),

    You can:

    (1) tick Edit > preferences > General > use overview of limits;

    (2) select the Type and the effect > path > describe the object.

    Which will reduce the Bounding Box to the real limits of the letters and keep the editable Type.

    Don't forget to uncheck the Edit > Preferences > General > use limits Preview until you get a reverse problem.

  • Convert block of text to PDF with Acrobat

    Hello. When to convert a text file to PDF with Acrobat X Pro the spacing of the characters in the resulting file is incorrect.  The columns of figures that line up correctly in the text file, do not properly align in the PDF file.  I adjust the conversion settings in the CREATE PDF FROM WEB PAGE THE box and I chose a fixed-width font.   If I use Adobe PDF Converter (printer driver), the result is perfect.  If I open the text file with Microsoft Word and then convert it to PDF with PDFMaker, it is also perfect. I want to use Acrobat so that I can bulk convert my files 300 text in PDF format.   Can you please help as I have tried everything?  Thank you.  Paul Pontikis (Deakin University)

    How are the files PDF, text is a set of text-as-graphics. Individual graphs can be lines, words or even simple letters. So there aren't really spaces at all in many files, just the text is a little further away.

    Clearly Acrobat calculates wrong - I think as I said, this looks like a rounding error.

    There nothing like what you are looking for - once the PDF file is made, the locations are fixed.

  • Other options to convert PDF scanned text document?

    I often receive PDF files where the document has been scanned as an image. I'm wasting time having to retype these. I found a way online to Google to do a conversion, but it is slow (the link below if you're curious).  What are other options to convert this type of PDF to actual text?

    http://www.labnol.org/software/convert-scanned-PDF-images-to-text-with-Google-OCR/5158/

    It is in the PDF, not somewhere else. You can then save it as a text file (or DOC) and get the text. Apparently, you use the searchable image, but could also use ClearScan which replaces the image of the text with the text where he thinks that it is successful. The text is on a different layer in the PDF file.

  • How can I convert a plain text XML insert?

    I have a file fm9, about half of it is in the elements that can be edited directly in the structured view, but the other half seems to be reported ax XML that is difficult to alter. Is it possible to import this insert xml into the document so consists of 'ordinary' elements alongside the elements already in there and is as easy to manage in the same way as items already in structured mode. Thank you.

    A bit of history...

    If you have a structured file fm, you can insert another file that contains the structure by reference (a text inset). I guess the inserted file uses the same set of items (catalogue of same element) as the file container, or the result would be invalid. Now click on the text box to select it, and then select Modify > text box properties. In the dialog box, click on convert. This converts the text inserted into the editable ELEMENTS, no text; It is the same as if you had imported the file inserted by copy. You can now edit the elements inserted in the dossier containing; in fact, they ARE a part of the file, is no longer connected to the original file inserted.

    I've never used insert XML text. But I'm guessing that the elements of the XML file are compatible (i.e., the same game) with the items in the file container. Otherwise, the resulting file is not valid. So, I guess all you have to do is identical with a standard structured text overlay, that is, follow the same instructions as above.

    If this isn't what you're trying to do, please provide details.

  • Convert psd editable text?

    To convert a psd "editable text"... do I have to have the police / police in my system.

    My client will provide the text in a PSD for MAC and I want to use the text on a path in my Windows System.

    Yes, you will need the fonts on your system. This feature snaps the text string and formatting of information, but otherwise there's nothing in the PSD. Unlike PDF files for example, they do not support integrating games of glyphs together to maintain appearance even if the police are not on the system...
