Copy and paste duplicate graphic styles

Scenario: Start with a graphic style named say pt 2 black STROKE/no fill called "2.0 pt. Create an object using the said style, cut and paste, whenever I do it I get ' pt 1', '2.0 pt 2' ' 2.0, 2.0 pt 3' etc. madly populate my Panel graphic styles. Someone of another experience this behavior or it's just my development and something I have to solve?

It is with CS6 (16.0.4) running on Mac OS X.6.8

Any help much appreciated

Just tested. Works well.

It shouldn't make a difference, actually, because the document profiles are files HAVE completely normal.

Have you created a new graphic styles or you copy older files?

Older files can be "infected" with the error RIGHT. It is a very serious mistake that works a bit like bird flu.

You can try the service procedure mentioned in the other thread. Must you turn the correction mechanism in Illustrator and clean your files by opening them.

It is simple to copy styles in InDesign. Use the eyedropper tool to select the type of source by clicking on the text with the style already applied, then transition to the United Nations in text format, and click and drag on the text you want to apply the style to or just click anywhere in a paragraph and the entire paragraph will be formatted.

  • Copy and pasting of text does not not with Styles

I have an InDesign document with more than 300 pages of text that I need to copy and paste into a new document. The text has several different fonts (regular italic, small caps), all in various sizes and is formatted with character and paragraph styles. The small caps, for example, is at 15, but I want to make 14pt in my new document. So, I changed the style in the core document and the change resulted, but when I copy and paste the original settings in the new document, paste, not those revised (i.e. the new style is 14pts, but the text copy even more like 15).

Anyone know what is happening? I certainly don't want to manually change the size in points and on all the different styles on all these pages.

When you move the style of text in a document to a document is the destination file that controls the style definitions, not the source.

  • Copy and paste graphic inserted gives InDesigne, object not! Bug or 'feature '?

When I copy and paste any object in Indesign (Vectorgraphics, Rectangle, Textarea, everything) it is not glued as another object, there in the form of a graph inserted paster. I use creative Cloud, to update automatically. What is a 'novelty' or a bug? Copy and paste an object-> I want a new object (editable and with same color, etc.) and not a chart inserted. I can't change all the parameters of that or something? never had this problem before!

I would appreciate your help as it really is uncomfortable in the workflow, even though I understand it would increase performance and reduce the amount of data.

  • Copy and paste graphic w/shadow in indesign - loses the transparency

    InDesignScreenSnapz002.jpg

See the image above... I did a version vector of our company in illustrator logo (all referenced programs are cs5 btw) and it looks great, but when I copy and paste from Illustrator into InDesign, it loses the transparency around the logo. If I place the logo instead, it works fine. The problem is there are about 16 variants of the logo and its MUCH easier to copy and paste from a global file rather than have several files of different logos to be placed.

General information on how the logo was created: the inner circle is several layers degraded (some with both transparency masks). The white line around the outside edge is a stroke extended, and he had a shadow applied effect (menu aesthetics), that I developed for it would scale correctly when scaling the logo from top to bottom. Here is a link to download the logo: download the logo

Q: is there any way make InDesign preserve transparency when I copy and paste?

You would be eternally grateful if someone has a solution that allows me to copy and paste!

You have to put each version on its own layer in Illustrator and place the file I. Choose display options, cultures of the bounding box and select the appropriate layer.

You going to have successful copy/paste with shadows that would be better applied in the ID anyway.

  • Why I didn't copy and paste layers or folders in Photoshop?

I honestly have a hard time understanding why I can't layers Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V, or folders (with styles and properties) in Photoshop, although I can with other elements in Photoshop and with almost all elements of all software published by Adobe (including the insurmountable more complex layers of an After Effects composition). I have long used different methods to copy layers and folders autour (double drag, etc.), but they can all be very heavy at times depending on the project and this is the specific workflow. For example, I just finished editing on the thirty selected RAW photos of an event in PS and I need either already have my watermark on them that I have edited, each of them or that I do now as a big batch of ol '-note: because I put my mark in a location unique photo based on its content This is the direction and My Eye stocks or batch commands do not work for this). My only option really is to visit the source document containing my watermark layer more than thirty times to retrieve a single item of data which could and should only be required in my Clipboard and available with a simple keyboard shortcut (note also that my brand fusion styles will be also adjusted according to the photo, excludes a selection of brand that can be copy and paste but only as a raster with an alpha channel layer).

Y at - it an explanation of why it's missing? Maybe there's a logical reason, I do not understand...?

    See you soon!

Also use ctrl/cmd-J to duplicate (copy) a layer in the same document, which will retain all of its attributes. And as Trevor mentioned, you can just drag the layer in the layer panel to another document tab to replicate to another document - no menus, no workspace rearrangement.

  • Can you copy and paste an effect like shadow?

I work in Illustrator CS5 and I would like to know if it is possible to copy and paste an effect like a shadow.  For example, let's say I have create a document with text that has a shadow on the subject and some without effect.  Then I create text in a different font with a shadow effect different (from the different parameters for the drop shadow attributes).  Later in the project, I decide I want to go back and add the first effect to several objects or text in my image.  Is it possible to copy this effect and stick it in?

I know that I can go and manually copy the parameters of the effect I want copy, add the effect to a new object and then reapply the effect to the point, but is there a way to simplify the process by simply copying the effect?

By dragging objects to the graphic Styles Panel will allow quick access to the effect settings.

So in your example after having set the first text, drag it to the graphic Styles Panel. Then later if you want to apply the same shadow what anyone, simply select the object and click the graphic Style.

The eyedropper tool is designed to copy the effects of an object selected to the selected object, but recently it has not been very reliable.

There is no direct way to copy effects between objects other than the above two methods.

  • Copy and paste the text moves

I have several differences in my document. To save time, I duplicate the "spreads" and adjust.
Im having trouble with duplicate it, copy & paste and copy and paste into the functionality of the place. My text moves out of the text frame.

How can I fix? I don't have a baseline grid. And align to grid is set to none.

    Help, please.

    THX.

It is possible, there is a text wrapped under the chassis, but I see that the text on the right has shifted very slightly down compared to the image, and I suspect it is either a case of high medallion of the page change or the text is printed to align with a baseline grid.

  • How can I copy and paste titles without any change?

I use a standard text title which by default appears in the center of the screen. I want to move it to another location and then have subsequent identical securities throughout the video appear in the same place without starting from scratch each time. I thought that I would just paste copies of the title moved throughout the video, but when I change the text in one, all copies are changing to this text. Is there an easy way to change rather than a title and to reuse this place many times with different words in each?

    Assuming that the first items 11 to 14 on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 64-bit...

Do not copy and paste, unless you want to use the same titles in all the different places in the project.

In the Expert workspace, create your title in the Titler, open and close the module titration when finished. In the process of creating a copy of the title will be placed on the timeline to the position of the marker on the timeline. Also a copy of the file will be placed in the active project.

With the module of closed captioning, open the active project, right-click in the thumbnail of the copy, select duplicate. Drag the double on the timeline and double click it to open the module of titration to change it. Repeat the process for additional titles, as indicated by your workflow system.

Please read the above and let us know if it addresses your issue. If this isn't the case, please detail what additional information you need.

    Thank you.

Add on... you don't want title thumbnail in the assets of the project with the same file name.

  • Copy and paste text formats, but not real text

Is it possible to copy and paste text formats (type, size, color, position), but be able to edit the text? Right now, when I copy and paste text and change the text, it replaces all the other texts that one. I work with a lot of videos in Adobe Premiere elements 12 countdown, and I wish I could stick all the texts on the video, then change from one to 10, 9, 8 and so on. Thank you!

What computer operating system? If you do not already have it, you must update 12 in 12.1 using Help Menu/updates to date of an open project.

    But your question immediately...

After creating a text title in the Titler and close titration module, go to Expert active project workspace, the tile it for this title a right click and select duplicate from the pop-up menu. Then drag the duplicate of there to the timeline. Double-click the duplicate on the Timeline to open the titration module where you edit the copy. Repeat this for additional titles. Copy paste is not the way to go on this. You've seen the consequence of this with changing a text title change all the.

  • Copy and paste the text

How can I copy and paste text from the web in Photoshop?

Not all text is text. Some of the graphics are. In a browser, you should be able to select the text with a text tool, otherwise chances are it's a chart.

Your browser must have a type of menu Edition in this menu, you should find a copy command.

In Photoshop in the edition menu, you will find the Paste command.

If you need help more than you will need to provide information on what type of computer you have (mac or windows) operating system and its version, what browser you use and the url of the Web page you want to copy from.

That said, attention copy on the web, everything can be copied and used because you are your own application. Due to copyright laws.

  • Copy and paste links...-preserving formatting

I have a report. At the top of each page, there are a series of links that point to other pages in the report. There are several sections of the report, and the links above vary for each section. Sometimes, these sections are short... and sometimes I need to add to the pages. When I add pages, I want to just copy and paste the links to existing pages in this section. But when I do that, the default value of the return to blue and underlined links. I don't want their blue and underlined. I want that they gray! How can I glue them so that links still work, but they remain gray and emphasis? See the photos below to better understand what I'm asking. Thank you very much!example.jpg

Select the text in the two cases and watch the applied character Style. My guess is that the gray text has the character of hyperlink style, and he was replaced manually to get gray and emphasis. When the text is copied and pasted, the Style is reasserting itself. Remove the gray text Style (or redefine Style to change so that it matches your formatting preferences).
