Copy the old system to ESXi?

Hello I have a slight problem with ESXi...

I want to copy old vmx (Windows Server 2008 + System.vmx team) file to a new system of ESXi.

After some googling, I found on ovfTool. And that I would need to convertfiles.

Now, I have a slight problem. The ovfTool does not work. So I can't try this conversion.

Is someone can please tell me that either have been finding a decent job. (I have read http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35/vi3_35_25_quickstart.pdf) on the old VMwareStasions of loading.

Or how can I do this? Since I kinda need it...

Thank you

Kind regards

Robin

OK, I'm going to assume you are currently on a system of ESXi and want to go to another system of ESXi.

Since you'd already be ESXi on a host, so if you have the storage space, you can use the browser data store to download config as vm and all of its files, store locally and then download them on your new host ESX via the browser to store data again.  No other tool would be necessary, but you must have the storage to contain what you need to transfer.

  • Copy the old Time Machine files to the new disk TM

Sorry people, I have to ask two (related) questions:

    (1) I have a WD My Passport for Mac drive connected to an Airport Extreme and 2 Macs use for backup via Time Machine. Now, the disk is full. I bought a WD My Book for Mac drive with a capacity of 4 TB and am ready to go.

Question: can I copy the old files of Time Machine on my new book?

    (2) until now 2 different Macs used the My Passport as a Time Machine drive with no problems.

Question: Should I partition the new drive (My Book) and every Mac uses its own partition as Time Machine or can proceed us as is?

Thank you very much for your help!

Question: can I copy the old files of Time Machine on my new book?

Yes you can, but there is a lot of work, a little complicated, time consuming and not worth the effort for most users.  The main reasons for this are...

    (1) the older backups will take a good amount of space on the new drive, limiting the space on the disk again.

    (2) Time Machine backups for the old files will continue... it will make a new copy of every Mac and then go forward again with incremental backups.

A better plan would be to keep the old drive on hand for a few months, in which case you need to go back and look for a file. After a few months, you will have a beautiful story from backup to the new hard drive and no need of older backups so you can remove the old disk and keep around as a spare part or use it for other purposes.

Question: Should I partition the new drive (My Book) and every Mac uses its own partition as Time Machine or can proceed us as is?

While you can partition the drive and save each Mac to a separate partition if you wish, there is really no need to do this since Time Machine will automatically create separate for each Mac backup files.

  • backup of the old system changed the type of operating system installation

After backup all data to your desktop at home and move the backup file on the replacement computer that was running and had been activated, got backup and ran into problems.  The original pc was an OEM system with a valid OEM key and had been activated for years.  The new system is a renewed system which has an apparently valid cd and COA 'For refurbished computers' active fine and had been restarted several times after activation before the fiasco of the backup.

After that I ran the backup recovery, system was restarted as planned, but when the time came to connect to windows, we encountered a problem of activation.  He said that the system should be activated.  I went ahead and put in the key that is attached to the system (the key for PC) refurbished, but he would go through.  I checked that I read the key from the sticker correctly several times and by two other people.  He would not suffer.  Just on a chance that the backup of the old system caused a little problem, I tried the OEM key that was on the original system.  He's been through.

If the old system should simply be scrapped, I don't think anything, but it will be either made to disadvantaged youth, so I want to make sure that everything is always good about it and it is all above board.  In its current form of the key is now on two different systems.  What can I do to fix this?

  • JDBC is not found for the old system

    Hi experts,

I connect to existing systems to extract data and for two systems not found no jdbc drivers are...

So, what's my next step, JDBC or JDNI is mandatory?

    Pls suggest

    ASP.

JDBC drivers are not always required that you have technologies defined in the topology of the ODI that don't use JDBC to connect such as non-relational data such as Hyperion Essbase servers. However, in general JDBC drivers are used for connections to relational technologies.

However, if you do not have the available JDBC drivers it is nothing prevents you from relying on the native utilities from the old systems to access the data in these systems through ODI if available

  • Can I choose the old system of import to Lightroom?

As I prefer the old system of import, am I able to access and use instead a new?

    Cliff

Adobe has indicated that in the future releases, the old import dialog box will be present. So at some point, you will be able to download future versions with the old import dialog box.

You do not lose your collections or anything else in changing version of Lightroom to 6.1.1

Can I set up a folder with many files and give only a limited number of people access? Just as in the old system.

    Hi oliviner,

If you are referring to the workspaces, then yes it is possible but the service will be removed in January 2015

If you are referring to files.acrobat.com, so if you can create folders and put the files into it, but you cannot assign access to specific people as you could in workspaces.

  • How to generate an automatic employee predefined in the old system?

    Hi all

I have a requirement in which there is a separate sequence for employees, contractors and the plaintiffs.
Now the problem is that my client has already set employees with a large number of employees in their old system presets.
    My question:

    (1) how can I make sure for automatic generation of employee numbers while defining the defintion of BG, IF they want new employee number genertaion in HRMS should not be after their last employee. ? For example, under the old system, they have to say 100 emp with the last emp in 20081. Now in HRMS they want this employee not from 20082, then a sequence later. * 101 th employee aura employee guess 20082 and thus of

    (2) for applicants and contractors a separate of footage that should be automatic.

    How do I get there?
The pointers in this area will be extremely useful.

    concerning
    S

You can use a quick formula to do it. I've already implemented it at my client-side.

Oracle provides three fast formula by default which are as follows. Fast formulas must be changed.
    1 APL_NUMBER_GENERATION
    2 CWK_NUMBER_GENERATION
    3 EMP_NUMBER_GENERATION

You will not be able to access or change this through your responsibility. (check through backend for these names).
For access to this create a personal responsibility (set-up business group), then configure this resonsibilty and then change the text in the quick formula.

    (1) define the automatic numbering of auto manual
    (2) create a sequence for EMP_NUM and CWK_NUM
    (3) Create PL/SQL function
    (4) to activate the installation companies group
    (5) create new responsibility
    (6) set values of profile to the level of responsibility
    (7) create features of FF
    (8) create formulas of FF
    (9) to turn off the installation companies group

    -fast formula code
    The DEFAULT for Person_number IS ' '
    DEFAULT for Party_ID IS 0
    Person_ID for default IS 0
    The DEFAULT for National_ID IS ' '

    Start_date (date),

  • importing data from the old system to the new system, key to the raw16 column

    Hi, experts,

now I have a new system, the design of the system is to use raw (16) column as the key column in all tables of database.
of course, when the new system goes live (in production), new records of transactions are written to the new database system.
When the new system inserts new records, it manages itself to avoid any conflict of the raw key column value (16)

Now, I'm dealing with this problem:

I need to import data from the old system to the new system, I use sys_guid() to fill the column raw (16) into the new database system.
How can I avoid conflicts of raw column value (16) between the old system data and the new data of database system?

the sql code I write is very simple:

    insert into new_sys_table_a (key_column_raw_16,...,...)
    Select sys_guid(), old_sys_col_a, old_sys_col_b
    of old_sys_table_a;
    insert into new_sys_table_a (key_column_raw_16, col1, col2 )
    select key_column_raw_16, col1, col2
    from old_sys_table_a;

  • I copied the old file of passwords in the new profile, but do not see.

Got a new laptop. Copied the content from the old profile to new profile. Most of the old information are there (bookmarks), but I do not see the passwords. I repeated copying the two files key3db and logins.json specifically, but even the passwords saved on my old profile are not there...

Could you try again in a new profile and copy only the files logins.json and key3db?

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problem.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile already used in the new profile, but be careful not to copy files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.
