Correction of the lens and the camera in Camera Raw calibration

My copies of Camera Raw for Ps CC and the bridge are fully updated and web support documents say that my Olympus E5 is supported by these applications. When I try to activate profile of auto lens corrections in Camera Raw, I get the warning - "unable to automatically locate the lens profile correspondent." Worse still, the drop of decision-makers does not even include Olympus. All my images include EXIF information and all my lenses are produced current Olympus. I do not understand why none of such large manufacturer lenses are supported by Camera Raw when, an app like DxO Optics Pro has profiles for all my lenses.

Further, there is problem in Camera Raw with 'camera Calibration '. When editing. DNG. TIF and. JPEGs, the camera profile reads correctly 'embedded' for files from Olympus. However, when editing. Files of the ORF the camera profile reads "Adobe Standard" instead of "embedded".

Is there a solution for these problems? I can't find one on the Adobe Web site.

Richard Sharp

Not necessarily problems:

1. Olympus camera photo/lens combinations have been corrected for distortion inside the camera in ACR for raw and jpeg.  In general, no profile outer lens correction is available.

2. "embedded" means non-premieres loaded in ACR, usually jpeg images.  "Adobe Standard" is the base profile provided by Adobe, all supported raw formats.  Adobe will also seek to provide the matching profiles camera, that is "neutral", "portrait", etc., for the selected cameras.

    Hi ParadigmRose,

This is expected as profile tab behavior does not appear under Lens Correction Panel if you go to Camera Raw Filter in Photoshop

However, profile tab would be there if you open a raw image directly in camera raw first.

You can go to the filter menu > Lens correction in Photoshop, if you want to search for profiles with edit in Photoshop.

Devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

First of all, the D90 was supported in Camera Raw 5.1.

Open Photoshop and click on Photoshop (Mac) or help (Win) > Plug-ins > Camera Raw to see what version you use.

Photoshop CS4 comes with Camera Raw 5.0.

    Hi giuseppee,

    Greetings.

You are confused with Camera raw, Lightroom using your raw files, you must import your images in Lightroom.

Lightroom will read your raw files and allow you to perform processing on them.

  • I downloaded and installed the camera Raw 8.8 and ORF files that will always open in Lightroom 5.7.

I downloaded and installed the camera Raw 8.8 and ORF files that will always open in Lightroom 5.7.  The files were made using the new Olympus E - M5 II, who is on the list of supported devices.  When I run Lightroom and check the on the screen, it says it's Lightroom version 5.7, but Camera Raw 8.7 despite my having upgraded to 8.8.  I use a MacBook Pro with OS 10.7.5 Please advise on how to import and use ORF files in Lightroom.

The files were made using the new Olympus E - M5 II, who is on the list of supported devices.

Yes, this camera is supported by Camera Raw 8.8.

Camera Raw plugin | Supported devices

However, the required 'Version of Lightroom Minimum' column is empty. Lightroom does not yet support it.

Like the so-called Warunicorn, Lightroom does not use the Camera Raw using Photoshop plugin. It uses its own Raw conversion engine so you have to wait for an update of Lightroom separate for this camera edit Raw files in Lightroom. Or use the DNG Converter and work with the DNG in Lightroom.

Am I missing something? I've seen videos where you can change a dynamic filter layer, then use the camera raw, but I don't have this option available. I have the sliders in the lens correction, but not the icon buttons.

Yes. The end of announcement - CC versions is not available until June.

  • Cannot open the camera raw 6.0 Bridge CS5

I just installed photoshop CS5 and I'm unable to view and open my NEF files in Camera Raw in Bridge CS5.  It worked perfectly fine with CS4 Bridge and Camera Raw 5.1.0.30.  Anyone have any suggestions other than using my old Bridge CS4. I have mas OS X 10.6.3 installed on my computer.

    Thank you very much

I uninstalled and reinstalled the whole photoshop CS5 and it's always the same... I am at lost and using my old CS4 bridge for now.

You must confirm that the Camera Raw plugin has been properly installed so that the two bridge _and_ Photoshop can access. For Mac only right place is to be installed is: the level of the root (not the user library) library. To the inside of the eye to Library Application Support / Adobe/Plug-ins / CS5 / File Formats / camera Raw.plugin

If plug in Camera Raw isn't here or one of these folders are not there then Camera Raw is not correctly installed... If Camera Raw is correctly installed, then you may need to do several things... first of all, in the folder that you want to see raw images, and ride under Tools / Cache / purge the Cache for the file. If this does not work, you may have to trash your preferences in Bridge CS5. To do this, hold down the command / Option / Shift key while double-clicking the bridge app icon and choosing preferences reset...

If Camera Raw was not properly installed, sorry, you can not help... you may have to contact Customer Service for technical support installation.

    Hi Joel,

    • What version of Photoshop installed on your computer?
    • Also, please go to the Photoshop preferences, then the performance tab.
    • Here please click Advanced under 'Use Graphics Processor' settings and change the mode of drawing on 'Basic '.
    • Also uncheck "Open CL"
    • Restart Photoshop and then try to open an image and see for the boxes.

FAQ: FAQ: is Photoshop Elements works with my camera, or why does not open my raw files?

This means that the 12 elements is too old updated to 8.6.

You must have at least PSE13 (PSE14 is now at 9.4)

If you do not wan't to pay the upgrade, you can use the DNGconverter mentioned in this faq. You download this application free and independent (not a plugin); It can batch process all of a folder of your raw files to DNG format raw that your 12 elements can read and modify.

The Parent to Camera Raw/bridge software is Photoshop because the camera raw plugin is installed on your system with Adobe Photoshop.

Please open Photoshop and edit an image in camera raw by going into the filters and then open the bridge of file > Browse in Bridge and check if the option to edit your images in camera raw directly.

Also make sure that your camera raw plugin is the latest version see: Installer of plug in Camera Raw

As PES 11 can use that until the camera raw 7.4 RTAs plugin and the D610 nikno requires at least the
camera raw acr plugin 8.3, you can use the dng converter from adobe to convert the dng files best D610 nikon, PES 11 should then open.

  • The Camera Raw editing is not enabled

I use CS6 on a pc and have for years. From time to time trying to open a file in Camera Raw, I get this message:

"The Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw edition requires a product calling it launched at least once to activate this function. »

I tried to open a scan of a CD. I tried to open it in Camera Raw to both the icon and the menu drop down and got the same message twice. PS was already open. Then I opened the file in Photoshop and saved on my hard drive. Then I tried to open the disk hard version backed up, and the same error message came. When I try to open a file that was edited in Camera Raw before, CR works fine, but with any file that has not been open before in CR, I get this message. Very frustrating. I will continue to work on that, but in the meantime, does anyone have a practical work around? I've always been able to work around this problem in the past, but I don't remember how I did it. Thank you.

That one is easy. Go Task Manager and you will see a process for the bridge. Double click on it and click on stop or end the process. This happens when you have the bridge in the status bar Windows system to Windows startup.

  • After the Camera Raw 8.4.1 update 8.5, he return to 8.0

During last periodical updating creative cloud, I saw in the list update to ACR 8.5. After the update, I checked, and the Bridge and Photoshop, ACR version back to 8.0. 8.4.1 was before the upgrade. In order, I tried to:

    (1) update of the internal functions of Bridge and Photoshop. Result of update check has been that it has developed to date available (ACR was on the list as an application)

    (2) install manually the ACR 8.5 from a manual update package indicated in a similar post on this forum.

    (3) uninstall Bridge and Photoshop.

    (4) re - install Bridge and Photoshop.

After all actions, the ACR version always is 8.0. I'm really surprised, because I do not understand whence version 8.0, as before the update my version was 8.4.1.

I assembled the two responses of Noel and Ashutosh who performed in the following order, allow me to work around the bug in the update.

Many thanks to Noel and Ashutosh

I don't know how geeky you want to get, but if you're a comfortable browsing files and zip files, here a manual technique that works...

    Close Photoshop first, then:

    1. Download here the manual update link 8.5: don't run the installer, but rather just Open the file in Windows Explorer zipr.

      http://swupdl.Adobe.com/updates/OOBE/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0/8.5.50/Setup.zip
    2. Navigate in the zip file to find the resources that match the 64 or 32 bit version of Photoshop you're running.  I assume that you have installed the 64-bit version, so the rest of the instructions will focus on 64-bit Camera Raw.8bi only.  Here is the way:

      Setup.zip ------ payloads-AdobeCameraRaw8.0All - x 64-050614143245 ------ Assets1_1.zip

The file within Assets1_1.zip, named 1002, is actually the Camera Raw.8bi file for 64 bit, just with a different name.
    3. Copy your folder on your computer where your Camera Raw.8bi lives normally, for example, 1002

      C:\Program Files\Fichiers Adobe Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats

    4. Rename the old Camera Raw.8bi file to Camera Raw.8bi_8.0. It is important that the extension is changed to something other than .8bi.

    5. 1002 and rename Camera Raw.8bi
    6. Run Photoshop and check the version of Camera Raw by selecting help - all plug-ins... - Camera Raw.

    -Christmas

Please install the following link DNG Converter. This would update the profiles of the camera to version 8.5. .
