Corrective measures wireless

I'm looking to improve a wireless implementation that does not work as required. The first step would be to conduct a study of the site. Can I do it with the existing operational network, or take the hit and turn off the APs for a day or two?

Mark

Necessary first step to shut down your existing wireless network to carry out an investigation. in fact, a survey of your existing running network is necessary to determine if you have a coverage problem or the source of your problem is something else like an oven to microwave or a misconfigured AP or out-of-date drivers on the users compters. Some wireless integrated into laptops have had serious problems with the original drivers.

Cisco abg card comes with a survey tool that is very useful.

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/wlan_adapter/CB21AG/user/2.0/Configuration/Guide/winapFkh.html

This link leads to annex F, which explains how to perform a survey of site with the tool.

If you have a spare AP just configure it with an SSID different and put in place in various locations to check the coverage, and it should not interfere with your existing wireless network.

  • Corrective measure on inaccessible Agent?

Let me first explain exactly what I'm looking to do. My current setup is a repetitive work that recreates connections (tunnels) to agent mailboxes every 15 minutes to ensure that the connections remain standing. This can get hung up and down the network. Ideally, I would like to implement automated system to correct problems. If an Agent becomes unavailable, I wish to make a corrective action that will try to recreate the connection. I was told that the corrective action will be held on the AGENT, which inevitably fails if there is no link. If a 2nd task would be added to the corrective measures in response to the first task that failed, this run login scripts in the OEM box and restore the connection. If it does as well, I would like a review that will be sent (incident rules generally).

That's my ideal set up. Here are the questions that I am running into. The first is that inaccessible Agent does not seem to be a modifiable metric. It is considered to be a measure called response > status under the metric. However, under settings metric, it cannot be changed, and therefore, I don't see a way to bind a corrective action to this measure. Once I have tie the corrective action to this measure, what I have to put in place a work to be performed in the corrective or corrective measure is essentially a task that runs in response to an event? That's how I understood it... looking for a check. It would be greatly appreciated if I could be pointed in the right direction.

Strange, I don't know why the script would not be triggered properly. What I had tried before worked with the calling script set up the way you describe, just path/to/the/script/script.sh. I would add a bunch of debug statements in the script to echo lines out to a log file in / tmp to confirm that it is actually called and is it all works the way you expect. It could be something minor like your a ssh on your course interactive logon session, but the process led by the WHO don't - so the script running but not actually run anything because he can't find it.

Now, if it turns out this isn't actually running the script at all, it's something else which is not just and probably needs someone more capable than to look into the matter.

  • Cannot find driver for wireless on Satellite M100-149

    Hello

I formatted my laptop and started on a regular XP cd. Don t ask why - I just :-)

That's why I'm looking for drivers for the system. It's much more complicated than I thought

Especially I'm looking for the devicedriver for Lan Wireless. When I installed the driver I found on the website (The Atheros setupfile) it does not install a helpprogram to the wireless device and does not enable the wireless card.

Does anyone have a good idea?

    Kind regards
    Hans

    Hello, Hans

You are right. Driver WLAN is for the installation of the driver only. Is now correctly installed wireless network card? What is the status of WLAN card in Device Manager?

If the wireless network adapter is installed properly, you must enable WLAN card by using the FN + F8 key combination. Prior to this switch, WLAN switch in position ON.

  • Qosmio X 770 - 11b - wireless without connection

I have X 770 - 11 c and I can't use a Wi - fi connection. The Bar with the signals show 'X' and when I try to make a new connection it asks me to go with the Fn button or the manual button on the front of the laptop.

There is no button or the button anywhere on this laptop, so I try to use FN F8 and it doesn't work.
Where can I try to turn on the wi fi?

    TNX

He4o... is right. As a first step, you activate the local network card device by using the WLAN button with function keys (user s manual 36 page). When do you this using FN + F8 key combination and check if both options are available here. Is Yes use WiFi ON to enable the wireless network adapter.

When the card is correctly activated wireless communication witness turns red (s user manual 27 page). Now, you will be able to use the wireless network for communication WLAN card.

  • Measurement time 4132 SMU is too high

    Hello

I use PXI - 4132 DC EMS to perform some DC measurements at high speed. I just took a 1 K Ohms resistance, forced 1mA and measure 1V. I have this done configuration and code completed. I get the correct measurements. But my problem is with the measurement time. The total duration is about 45ms to complete installation and measurement, with the exception of the 'initialize and close '.

I checked the time at every step and I noticed that the maximum duration is taken during the "voltage reading. Out of the total 45ms, it takes about 34ms just for a measure. It's just a VI "Ukraine power measure" takes about 34ms, which is ridiculous compared to the Kiethleys. I tried to vary the time of "openness" and turn off the 'Auto Zero'. But the measurement time is still high. Can someone help me and let me know what is the best time of the measurement obtained with 413 x series SME?

    Thank you!

    Hey Phx_tech,

The amount you reduce your delay source depends very much your HAD and how regular you have to your level of tension until you start taking your measurements.  If your Instrument is reactive, you can see discount gas and unintentional ringing during the transition from your output level and therefore would allow enough break-in before taking your measurement. The best thing to do is to experiment with different delays of source and see how much delay need you to get a consistent and reproducible measure. If you have a scope that is available, it will also show you the step response of the SMU with your Instrument.  If your first reading is higher than your other readings, that this could very well be a problem with not enough time settling.  What kind of DUT Testez_ you?

From page 4 of the specification, you can see that 1 PLC, we can expect about 1 ppm RMS noise of the range to 1 PLC. This means in the range 10 au our measurement noise would be 10 pA RMS or 60 pA pk - pk.  However, your DUT + cables will pick up the extra noise and you should consider using wires of twisted shield pair to reduce noise picked up in your system.  The shield can be terminated at the mass of the chassis on the side EMS of the cable to help reduce noise appearing in your measurement.

Let us know what you find after experimenting with you HAD.

    Thank you!

  • PhysicalChannel.DIChangeDetectionSupported not correct

    Hello

I have a PCIe-6321 with 24 digital lines. Only the first 8 specifications (port0/$line0... (7) can be used for change detection. Also when I try to use...

    myTask.Timing.ConfigureChangeDetection (up, down,

    SampleQuantityMode.ContinuousSamples);

... of channels do not support detection of changes (port1 and port2) I get an error on the audit.

In my program, the user can select which device to use. I fed to the user a list of all the DILines who have the the PhysicalChannel.DIChangeDetectionSupported set to true, like this...

    PhysicalChannel physicalChannel = DaqSystem.Local.LoadPhysicalChannel("\dev1\port1\line5");

    If (physicalChannel.DIChangeDetectionSupported)

    {

    inputTerminals.Add(("\dev1\port1\line5");

    }

However, all digital 24 for return true on PhysicalChannel.DIChangeDetectionSupported that should not be the case.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

    Hi Holland,

I think it's a bug, but it is also a kind of gray area. Here is the description of this property by using LabVIEW (I guess using .NET said the same thing): "Indicates if the calendar type of change detection is supported for the physical digital input channel".

You can use the calendar type of detection of change with port1 and port2? In normal use, the answer is no. However, there is one case where you can: detect changes without buffer. If you set the size of the buffer entry to 0, then it is possible to have lines of port1 and port2 in the task without mistakes, as long as they are not included in the side up/down lines property. (In other words, port1 and port2 may not lead the task of detection of change, but memory buffer is off, they can come along for the ride). Di ChangeDetectSupported returning true may be technically correct, but it is not particularly useful, because you need to configure additional properties to make it work.

M series also supports detection of changes without buffer, and DI, it returns false. ChangeDetectSupported on port1 and port2. So no matter what the correct behavior is, this property does not always behave on the series of M vs X-series. I just filed a request for corrective measures, CAR #298171.

As a solution, if your code does not work on the materials NOR 65xx, perhaps you could use DI. ChangeDetectSupported & DI. SampClkSupported? Di SampClkSupported returns false to port1 and port2 on M and X series.

  • Which is the correct Point on the waveform of the Signal?

    Hello

    Please see attached image.

I have labview software which is to measure the load of a load cell output. According to me, that the reading is accurate, except with the software Labview, we get up to 50 lbs less when we read it with the oscilloscope technician.

What I see is that the technician measure the amplitude of the signal at the top and when there is little noise reading of the oscilloscope is even higher because the placement of the cursor is higher.

I see that LabView is more or less because when we place the cursor oscilloscope in the middle of the measurement at the center of the signal signal not top it it reads then the same my labview program. I also have a low bypass filter in labview software.

Which are the correct measure points waiting for oscilloscope to measure? in the picture as an attachment the white slider is positioned correctly, or is the correct red cursor?

It's just an example of image zoom to see better.

    Thanks to you all.

    JCollado

If I understand you correctly the width of the track to noculars represents 50 lbs of difference as? If you think about how works a noculars, then the center of the line displayed is probably the most accurate. The line width is determined by a few things, noise superimposed on the signal being a. So, with a noise filtering in your LabVIEW its 'width of the line"program will be closer / diluent, as it will have removed some of the noise component. Place the cursor in the middle of the path displayed in the noculars is an approximation of this, sort of looking for the point where the noise is "average" out 1/2 top / in-1/2 under the cursor, which is about the signal of 'data '. It is difficult to make measurements of accuracy of a noisy signal with a noculars for this reason, where do you put the trace? If you were to remove the filter program LP you would probably get the equivalent of the "wide trace flag" which would be a series of values that plotted close the underlying signal, but with high and low variations equivalent to the width of the track.

So after all this verbiage, I would read the trace Center, perform an average of noise 'eyeball '.

Hi, I am currently running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my office and cannot view wireless networks!

I tried to use two wireless adapters and both show active although they cannot show all networks.
LAN works perfectly well and when I try to add a wireless network, it is said "an unexpected error has occurred."
I have updated drivers for two adapters to the correct version wireless and little. No yellow icon in the Device Manager.
I also checked to see if power saving has been enabled for the device and power options that are disabled.
Two wireless adapters are using a USB port, not PCI. I abandoned everything simply! I need some advice on how to solve this problem! I can provide more information if necessary. But please help me with this problem :(
I also disabled anti virus software and my firewall!

The problem I have now is that when I try to connect it said "Windows could not connect. He also says in the settings of cards tab my wireless adapter is "authentication attempt.

    Hi Tatiana,

    ·         Have you tried to install the drivers from the manufacturer's Web site?

    ·         Have you checked if the network card works on another computer?

Download drivers card network from the manufacturer's website and check manually.

    http://www.TRENDnet.com/downloads/list_subcategory.asp?SUBTYPE_ID=1353

Alternatively, you can deal with this problem due to security software. I suggest that disable you the security like anti-virus and firewall software and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Call the helpline for the manufacturer of your network adapter. It is likely that neither Windows nor the router have problems, it's just a matter of getting the configuration on both put in place settings to work properly together. The manufacturer of the router will be the best resource to learn how to configure their device.

  • Windows 7 wireless connection problem

I just bought a brand new Alienware m17x and all drivers are up to date... .IM with broadcom wireless network adapter. The strange thing is that last night I was on the internet for several hours without any problem using the wireless, but this morning iwas unable to use my wireless internet access. This has happened several times now. Sometimes it says "not connected - no available connections" and sometimes he says "not connected connections are available" when she says, links, I try to connect to the network, but it says "unable to connect to the network. The only time wherever I was able to connect to wireless internet, was when my computer is automatically connected to my wireless network without me having to select the network and attempt to connect. I read things about windows 7, with a mode of "sleeper" for wireless connections or something, and that can be the cause of it and that it is better to turn off or downgrade to xp. I am really frustrated because I am not able to connect wirelessly and I hope you guys can help me find a solution.

Guide to correctly troubleshoot wireless M17x
    with Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card
    by Glzmo

Since many new Alienware M17x all powerful users, especially those who use Windows 7 as operating system there are various problems with their Wi - Fi connection and post threads asking how their difficulty over and over again, I decided to write this guide to show them how to solve these issues properly Commons. The solutions in this guide were created and designed for 64-bit Windows 7, but they may also work in Windows Vista, although these problems were experienced by users of Windows 7 mainly in the past. It could very well be that the problems start occurring in Vista as well with the new drivers and Windows updates.

    I. may not connect to the wireless network and or see the wireless adapter when the Ethernet cable is disconnected
If you sometimes or always unable to connect to the wireless network, cannot connect to the wireless network when the Ethernet cable is disconnected, unable to connect to a wireless network unless you restart once to get this work and other weird problems to be unable to connect to a wireless network continue with section II. Otherwise, continue with section II..

Sleep of a.i. Disable on disconnect device
Some new Nvidia Ethernet drivers have a function called sleep device to disconnect. This is the culprit. Normally, it should only put the card Ethernet to sleep when the cable is disconnected, but it is buggy and thus kill the wireless connection as well.
Follow these steps to disable this feature on your Ethernet Nvidia card:

    1. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
    2 double-click network adapters.
3 double click on NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (Yes, that's indeed wired Ethernet adapter).
4 click on the Advanced tab.
5 select sleep on disconnect device.
6 set the value to disabled.
7 click OK and wireless should work again (may require a reboot later, but probably not).

I.b. install different drivers (older) who do not have the device sleeping on disconnect feature.
The above does not work or if you are not comfortable with these drivers, follow these steps (if step A.i. was successful, you will not need to follow these steps). Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding:
    1. click the Windows Start button in the taskbar.
    2 click on Control Panel.
3 click on uninstall a program.
4 in the list, double-click Nvidia drivers.
    5. Mark Remove only the following.
6 in the box below, only check the Nvidia Network driver.
7 click Remove and follow the uninstall instructions.
8 restart the system, if you are prompted to.
9 download another (older) driver from Nvidia.
    10 install the old driver.
11 when asked what drivers you want to install, select only the network driver.
12 follow the installation instructions and restart your system if prompted.

II. Low or fluctuating wireless connection speeds
If you have problems with WiFi low connection speeds (such as rates decline over time, the speeds are much lower than they should be, network lag/stutter in online games, loss of light packets, loss of internet connection as LAN works and other weird things) or speeds of fluctuating wildly without apparent reason wireless connection install the version of the Dell Wireless 5.60.18.8 drivers instead of the standard Broadcom drivers. All older drivers will usually cause the speed of connection under normal. Note, however, that you may need to install the driver manually via Device Manager as the pilot was not released for another laptop and is not officially available to the M17x yet - that's why the installer won't work. Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding.
Here is a step by step how manually install the driver:

    1. download the drivers Dell Wireless 5.60.18.8.
2 check out the R29128.exe file using an extraction utility like WinRAR or just run it and quit the installation program.
    3. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
    4 double-click network adapters.
5 double-click the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter entry.
6 click on the driver tab.
7 click the button Update driver .
8 click Browse my computer for driver software.
9 click on Let me take form a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
10 click the disk provided .
    11 click Browse.
    12. select the folder that you extracted the drivers you just downloaded in step 1. in.
13 select the subfolder DRIVER_US (if you are in the United States), DRIVER_JP (if you are in the Japan) or DRIVER_ROW (if you are in the rest of the world), according to the region you are in.
14 click on the Open button.
    15 click OK.
16 select the driver that says Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card of the list (you may have to scroll down to see - it presents itself as second to the last in the list for me).
17 click on the Next button.
18 you will get a warning that the driver that you are about to install is not compatible with your hardware. Ignore the warning and proceed with the driver installation.
19 restart your system if prompted to do so.
20 your new driver should now be properly installed and the speed of your wireless connection in the order.

III. If all else fails (or you've just had enough of boredom arising from the Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card)
Replace the Dell Wireless 1510 problem with a card half-mini Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 A/G/N (use the bluetooth as the third antenna antenna or buy you an additional antenna for this). It works very well with the M17x, has better connection speeds to strips of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (this last has speeds really bad on the Broadcom/1510), it has not required to jump through the hoops to make it work properly and much more, it works with standard drivers and Intel maintains their drivers up to date. It is also much more reliable and faster as well, especially on the 5 GHz band, but also on the 2.4 GHz band.

For more information on the subject of tweaking the settings of your Dell Wireless card, check out the official setting advanced properties: Dell Wireless WLAN Card User Guide.

I hope that this guide will help you solve your Wi - Fi connection and allow you to enjoy speeds of complete wireless connection on your laptop Alienware M17x.
