How to install a new copy of Windows XP SP the protégé 2000

I have this P2000 for a month, which has a running version of Windows XP Professional. Because he had met with problems and frequent crashes and delayed the restart and learned to become slow to a point where the startup until you see the windows desktop appears to be a success.

I took the necessary upward and now intend to install a new copy. I burned a Bootable CD containing to implement files and tried to start the P2000 with a USB-CD/DVD-ROM. I even changed the bios setting to boot from the CD-ROM, and yet it does not start. It indicates an error.

My HARD drive is MK2003GAH 1.8 inches.
CD-RW/DVD drive is h Data Storage Model No. GCC-4241N TYPE SO GYGO REV FW:OP34.

and proceed to loading windows XP for over 25 minutes and restarts again.

Yes, I read some discussion on how we could use a PCMCIA card and everything. But I am naïve. Help, please.
Thank you.

Samir

the problem is:
1: your portege bios does recognize that some machines CDROM
2: the installation procedure for Windows XP do not know how to deal with these CDrom devices

the only way is to return to a DOS (fat32) environment and load the appropriate drivers for your CD-ROM USB from a floppy, then start the BACK-XP Setup (winnt.exe)

    Impose a HAL

To prevent Windows XP to automatically determine the system HAL during the upgrade or installation of Windows XP, you can manually force in a system HAL. To impose an Abstraction Layer HAL during a upgrade or installation of Windows XP, follow these steps:

    1. During the phase in text mode of Setup, when you receive the message at the bottom of the screen, press F5:

  • Need to download & install a new copy of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit for strongly modified pc OEM

Original of the hard drive has crashed, please download & install a new copy of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on new SSD. I updated day/has replaced most of the OEM parts to 4 + years except for the motherboard, power supply, & tour. I don't have the old parts, sort of recovery disk installs not successfully because of all the improvements. Have drivers for devices newer than all existing parts on a USB ready when necessary. OEM is telling me to go up the PC with its original components to make it work, and I really don't need all the unnecessary software OEM includes in their recovery disk. Microsoft Download site does not allow me to download from a pc OEM product key. For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

  • Windows 8 reset has not installed a new copy of windows - PC encountered a problem :(

I use the computer laptop hp pavilion with windows 8 pre-installed top when I bought the laptop. It was working fine until 2 weeks ago when I tried to update windows 8.1. All other updates for windows 8 have already been installed. After installing windows 8.1, the screen started to Flash and flicker. I didn't know what was the problem in spite of the fact that I tried to search and find out if everyone knew the same problem. Anyway I tried to update my PC to return to windows 8, and when I did, I started having this bug saying something like:

Your PC ran into a problem, he needs to restart. We will collect some data, then we will restart for you.
And then the PC restarts. I was frustrated by the presence of mistake over and over again. Then I copied all my data on external hard drive and decided to put my windows to get a new copy of windows 8 is installed. But he also didn't work. After the reset, I noticed that it wasn't a "Reinstall" clean at all. My desktop wallpaper has been same, my home page was even - he remembered my preferences. And once again! I'm having the same error as mentioned above, very often. Its very frustrating and I'm getting very excited now and I don't know what else I can try. Please help me someone...

Thanks for the reply of Mr. Martin.

Well, before you try the method that tells you, I used the HP Recovery Manager tool to reset my windows and the software to its factory settings and fortunately it worked. It reset my laptop with its settings from the factory with all the removed disk partitions, but of course, I made a backup of all my data. Its job well now for windows 8.

    Thanks again for your support.

  • Install a new copy of windows.

    Hello

    I bought a laptop Lenovo B50-80 with i7 u5500 16 GB RAM Radeon graphics card with windows 7 pre-installed pro m330 r5 [expandable to 10 windows].

It was slow from the beginning, [not the hardware problem] I want to re install the operating system by using my key in the bios. I tried to download windows using this key, but was refused.

All I want is a new installation of the operating system. Because of this problem, I now use my USB mobile linux.

    Best regards

    Aurore.

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

    Another option:

  • How to install a new copy of 7.6 FatWire locally without first installing FatWire 7.5 (to test the upgrade to WebCenter Sites 11.1.1.8)

    Hello-

I am trying to install a local copy of 7.6 FatWire content server. This is the context.

We have FatWire 7.5 on our production servers and you try to start the upgrade process to 11.1.1.8 Sites. I do not have a local copy of FatWire 7.5 and was trying to install FatWire 7.6 locally. It would help me to test the upgrade in a sandbox before you make changes to the production. So here are my questions.

    1. is it possible to install FatWire 7.6 without installation FatWire 7.5 first and then upgrade? The documentation and downloads respectively have only steps upgrade and update rollup Setup.

2 need a license file generated by Oracle for a working installation FatWire 7.5? My understanding is that we do. This issue of links back to my first question on why I won't install FatWire 7.5.

    Kind regards

    Hari

    Hello Hari,

If you downloaded the installer FatWire Content Server 7.5 of edelivery.oracle.com then you don't need a license file. If it is an older installer, not provided by Oracle, then probably need a license file. In this case, the installer will ask you the location of the license file. See Doc ID 1439204.1 on how to obtain a license file.

Is the same for your installation of the rollup FatWire Content Server 7.6 program: if it's from Oracle, you don't need a license for her file, but if it's an older one, you might need (even if you have installed everything first version 7.5 provided by Oracle).

Note that you should move to FatWire Content Server 7.6.2 (fix 13847799) before going to the WebCenter Sites 11.1.1.8.0. (See Doc ID 1455512.1)

You can get this from support.oracle.com under patches and updates. (See Doc ID 1471102.1)

    Kind regards

    Stephan.

  • What is the difference between a) install a new copy of Windows, b) perform a new installation and c) reinstall Windows?

    Hello

What makes them different?  In addition, one of these facilities/re-facilities removes everything, and one of them that keeps the files, applications, and settings?

    Thank you

Assuming you're on win 10 (you do not specify) there are three things you can do

Refresh > keeps your files and restores system files and folders. (retains most settings)

Reset > you delete files and folders and restores the original operating system (keep anything)

Pure install > remove everything and re - install a Virgin copy of the operating system (keep anything)

You can borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

  • My XP recovery partition was wiped out. How to make a new copy of windows to install on my computer?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Should I call Microsoft and ask them to send a new disk or should I download it? The guy is completely lost. Thanks for your help.

If you want to say that it is created by the PC OEM recovery partition (Dell, HP, etc.), you will need to contact them on replacement disks. You can also check online, sometimes you will see specific disk for PC on ebay or some specialized surplus places.

Know that these are just disks, you still need a CD valid for installing the software and sometimes keys are specific to the type of disc you have. A Dell installation key may not work with a CD of retail for example.
