  I read up on top of the excellent series of Frank Denneman on oversized VM and their impact.  I started to read more in-depth VMware documentation on it, and I came up with a question that I can't find the answer to yet.  Maybe someone here knows the answer.

  If I have a Windows VM with a large reserve, given that the zeros the memory at startup of Windows, it will take the entire booking at the front.  My question is how does the GST and zero-page effect sharing only the affected memory?  I understand that once a machine has been attributed to his full booking, that memory will not be inflated, but these other features will reduce the impact on the memory of my physics?

  Good thing to know is that reserved memory is not equal to the memory allocated in all cases. If a page is shared between two vm of the allocated space is 0.5 pages, but the two or a single virtual machine will have a dedicated page.

  Yes, it will reduce the amount of memory without reserve in the host\cluster. Unreserved memory is used by CAC to determine if it can market a virtual machine with a reserve of memory. It has nothing to do with active memory real or affected memory.

  Normally, GST will collapse and share each identical to the host page. Unfortunately, if the virtual machine uses HW MMU (because of IVR AMD and Intel EPT) the VMkernel uses large pages. A great page (2 MB) is not shared by TPS. vSphere 4.1 uses zero page sharing, Duncan will display a very interesting post soon on zero page Thunder, so I don't want to steal the Thunder.

  Small pages supported by large pages have precomputed tips for GST, so in case of real memory contention (less than 6% of free memory space of the host) the VMkernel might Exchange pages. But the VMkernel has a share before the swap and a compress before the exchange policy. If ESX breaks the large page and subsequently share all the same pages using precomputed indicators before they are swapped.

  Because of this policy, sound very likey see page very little share in vSphere 4.1 on systems using IVR AMD or Intel EPT when the memory of the host is under committed themselves. Only when memory pressure is reached, mass page sharing occurs. • Have a calendar of upgrade and platform possible permutation problem

  I currently have CS4 Standard Design Creative Suite installed on my laptop only (PC) I need to move to CS6 before December 31.  However, I bought an iMac before next spring on which I need to have the new CS6 installed update (for Mac, of course).

  This causes me a headache because I don't want to pay for an upgrade at the time on my PC in order to keep my privilege to upgrade and having to pay again for a new full version when I get my iMac, taking into account the fact that the standard license technically allows me to install the software on my laptop and my desktop computer as long as I do not use them at the same time.

  I searched the web a lot and came across the post below in a forum.  Can you tell me if this is possible or not, because that would be the ideal solution for me!

  I subscribed just to the cloud.  It is cross-platform and allows me to do what is described above, although I will not need half of what there is inside and in the long term, it will get more expensive.  But hey, it's still cheaper than buying two licenses of Creative Suite.

• Error7 message about the signature unidentified, the upgrade and installation of iTunes 10.5 for Windows Vista.

  Original title: error upgrading and installation of iTunes 10.5 for Windows 6.

  I tried all kinds of ways to solve this problem, but I can't seem to find a solution. This all started when I tried to update my iTunes to version 10.5. Then came the error message 7 on unidentified signature etc. I could not even run my iTunes more then. I started download iTunes again to repair and it just doesn't work. I don't have problems with the installation of my iTunes for the first time a year ago and upgraded whenever I allow it.

  All other methods I tried to correct the error includes:
  • Uninstall iTunes completely and everything that it supports the programs and files (Quicktime, supporter of Mobile, Hello, Safari etc.)
  • Download Quicktime separately after you have uninstalled it as suggested by other users in some forum.
  • Update the frame Microsot.NET as suggested by the Apple Support site.

  • Manually started the installation of such Windows program suggested by one of the answers on this site:

    a. click the Start button, and then type services.msc in the start search box and press ENTER.
    b. Locate the Windows Installer service.
    c. check that the status is started. If the condition column is empty,
    d. right-click on Windows Installer, and then select start.
    e. If you get error trying to force start the Windows Installer service, then try to change the Startup Type to automatic.
    f. restart the computer.

    I have tried for at least 10 times and I have not yet set and am frustrated. Would be really grateful a solution to this soon.

  I'm looking for a way to list all the bridges of edge deployed in all my ORG CDV in my vCD 5.6.4 instance.

  Does anyone have any documentation or examples of how I can find these gateways of edge and their versions using PowerCLI?

  vCD 5.6.4 facilitate really whether the bridge aboard is obsolete.  I know that I can browse vShield Manager, but this interface is not as attractive to use when there is a few hundred edge existing gateways.  A way to find this information using PowerCLI would allow me to list, sort and inform customers.

  It makes it much easier to upgrade as well if we have bridges of edge to date.

  Camera RAW is certainly improved, the come of great change with PV2012 (process Version 2012 aka ACR 7) introduced with Photoshop CS6.  Other changes have been made to Camera RAW, and Lightroom even more, but their impact on the image quality is zero (AFAICR).  Of course, you'd have the same version of treatment with the recent versions of Lightroom if you take this route.

  The difference between PV2012 and PV2010 are noticeable in the shadow and highlight recovery.  Especially to hide him.  You remember produces bad artifacts setting shadows / highlights.  PV2012 allows you to push the bejazus from a RAW file while keeping things at least somewhere near sensitive.  I've always hated the shadows / highlights and could never understand the fuss people do about it.
