  • The disk performance hard OS ESX influences the performance of ESX somehow?

    Hello

Does the OS ESX (e.g. hard disk performance

between SATA and SAS) affect the performance of the ESX somehow?

(To clarify, I wonder about the hard drive that ESX is

installed, not the hard drive that are the VMFS volumes).

This information will help us determine if the benefit of

faster disks to the ESX operating system outweigh the additional costs.

    Thank you!

Welcome to the Forums - there are two parts that the local disk speed will affect perfomance - during the startup of the ESX host, it will delay the start of the server ESX - the other begins as others have said if you do not set / the effective Service Console - what needs to be done to ensure your service console is configured approriately.

    1. Sevrice console the maximum value of 800 MB memory - which is then installing ESX you set space swap to 2 x 800 or 1.6 - GB

    2. When accessing your virtual machines using RDP or SSH, this will reduce the load on the service console

    3. Minimize running them something extra in the Sevrice Console-

  • disk error hard laptop computer hp Pavilion dv6

I get three disk errors hard when I do drive hard main self-test: hard drive 1 303 fast and complete 1 305 hard drive and hard drive 1 smart 301. Also, I can't open windows normally, it will just go straight to the repair start and even that does not work! I don't have the chance to back up my files and I don't want to lose them. Help, please!
    Thank you

The hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. Once you have replaced the HARD drive you will need to perform the HP system recovery so that Windows and hardware drivers are reinstalled correctly.

  • I can't install the second disk sata hard

I have a problem when install the second disk sata hard
I bought a new one 500 GB and I installed windows xp sp3
and it works well I plugged in SATA 0 port
When I want to install a second sata hard disk 320 on sata 1
and it has an important data, windows will reboot, and do
    blue screen sometimes 'NTFS.sys"or"SCSIPORT.sys.
    and it is written "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
If someone help me what should I do or there is no FIX for this problem.

in the BIOS I have regcognized both hard drivers:
    IDE pri master 500 GB
    PRI IDE slave 320
    Second master IDE-
    Second slave IDE-
    PORT SATA - 0
    SATA 1 - PORT

    I plugged the IDE 2 cd-rom

    ----------
    Specification of the device:
    Windows xp sp3
    card mother gigabyte 848P
    Intel ICH5
    Intel 8I848p775-g
    Celeron D Socket 775

You said that the hard drives are sata but your bios recognizes them as IDE depending on your position. You might have to set your bios to operate in sata mode or enable AHCI of have recognized them as sata. Regarding the error you get, look in the system BIOS to boot from hard disk command menu. This is different from the command menu of usual starting where you choose each time you start a cd ROM or hard drive ect... The parameter that I refer to determine which hard drive of your computer starts on the first. Change to the primary master 500 GB disk > save your settings and restart your computer. Even if one is defined as main and the other slave is not serious. Some bios have the ability to choose what hard drive to boot from. In other words, it is adjustable to start first on the slave drive.

  • If I have not access to the disk partition hard base would impact on the installation of a complete operating system?

    Original title: TPG Server petition.

I wanted to know if I di not actually have access to the disk partition hard base would impact on the installation of a complete operating system of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit? Instead of having a computer with a complete installation of windows mine came with versions of WinPE OEM, NT and MCE. The GPT partition server that I can see is protected. Partial operating systems seem to be installed on network disk Volumes. I think that what I have to do down the disk hard real all delete and start again but I'm having a problem to see what is all about the drive through programs and remove what I find. He also seems to have a certain type of script hidden BIOS more wrinkles to retail and canceling all decisions on versions of the oem .cfg files. She configures and installs the server instead of windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit server software. The installation gives the highest administrative authority to the network administrators who I don't know and have never met and to manage my personal laptop. It creates a serious problem when I want to use my computer for one purpose and that some people I don't know and have never met want me to use my computer for something else.

  • Partition 32G BootCamp, Virtual Disk - flat hard 125G file!

    Hello

I recently installed VMWare Fusion on my laptop OS X I have created a BootCamp partition and installed XP. I created a partition of 32 GB for XP. I noticed my OS X partition to fill quite quickly. I used "from" to find the culprit and it's a 125 G file created by VMWare Fusion! Is this normal? This seems excessive. The file is located:

    / Users/tammy/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp of Camp/%2Fdev%2Fdisk0/Boot partition.vmwarevm/Virtual disk - flat hard

Is it possible to get a little less of my OS X Fusion disk space use?

    Thank you.

    Tammy

Well, I had to do a little research and what I found out, is that you can not directly mount a virtual secondary drive while he lies in the Boot Camp Virtual Machine partition and I've tested this with both one unformatted and formatting virtual hard drive and got the exact error and message in the absence of additional information in the log file then here is what you can do.

You can modify the Boot Camp partition.vmx change ide0:1.present = "FALSE" ide0:1.present = "TRUE" then boot partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine and see if the disc is visible in Windows Explorer and if it is not then it has not been formatted and contains nothing, in which case you can remove it from the virtual machine and leave within the Boot Camp partition Virtual Machine package or...

Move the file Disk.vmdk virtual and Virtual Disk - flat hard to the desktop, press ctrl + click on the Virtual Disk.vmdk, and then select open with > VMDKMounter and see what message you get if any.  If it does rise and you get an error message appropriate then it can be deleted safely

Understand that even if I know it's a pain in the thigh but I need something technically absolute that is within reasonable limits, before I will advise someone to delete a virtual hard disk and I hope you understand the reasoning and wisdom behind this!

I forgot to mention that if you choose to modify the Boot Camp partition.vmx this must be done with closed merger.

  • HP 14-r025tx: what is the maximum size of hard drive I can replace my default one? & other hard disk performance issue

My default hard disk is almost full and I plan to update. What is the maximum size that this model could overcome? Very well is 2-3 to?

    Another question.

I replaced my optical drive to a box with a 250 GB SSD HARD drive inside. I installed my new operating system here, and makes the default boot drive. The default value of HARD drive that comes with the laptop is my backup drive. This is configured by okay?

    or

Do I have to put my SSD on the default HARD drive space and put my 2 to/3 TB harddrive on the caddy for maximum performance?

    Hello

    1. in theory, you can get 2 TB or TB but 1 TB has better peformance.

    2. you cannot boot from the caddy. My suggestion: use for normal Bay and 2 TB SSDS in the caddy. You both what you want.

    3. as (2) above.

    Kind regards.

  • Presario s4490uk: boot and hard disk performance

It is an old machine, but generally suitable for use with a Pentium 4 running at 2.8 GHz and 2 GB ram max. The 120 GB hard drive is at capacity and in particular, the startup is very slow.

I'm not really interested in buying a replacement but rather looking for updates that will give me a recognizable performance improvement.

For example, is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD and it will deliver no improvement in performance. Similarly, a hybrid Ssd (at much lower cost) would deliver all the benefits.

Had a quick look at site Crucial however it has not offered an ssd for this model of office.

Also, if I can get an improvement in the performance of the equipment, would it be possible to update the operating system windows 10?

    Very grateful for any advice!

    You are welcome!

On the SSD, what looks like a very specific procedure, so I think it will be a good idea to contact Crucial support on this issue. They will be able to say with certainty whether it will work or not.

Regarding the RAM, I suggest you stick to HP recommendations, because even if you decide to run the two modules on the same machine as a whole, it must default to the lowest speed (i.e. in this case the PC2700). However, if you replace the PC2700 PC3200, you will get a slight speed increase, but I can tell you with certainty how it will be, and if it is noticeable at all.

  • [ESXi] The used hard disk performance

I know that the location of storage for virtual machines affect performance,

I wonder if quality hard drive I use to install ESXi (I would welcome my VMS on different hard drives in RAID configurations) makes a difference in how to perform virtual machines?

ESXi is running in memory and rights back config changes every 5 minutes from what I can remember. Make sure you just config your syslog space and scratch.

I have a Satellite Pro A100-622 with 80 GB hard drive.

About a week ago, I used a program I downloaded on internet to clearn registry and improve "performance.

    Hello

You mean that 30 GB on the HARD disk are available?

Check the status of the disk in disk management.
You can see the entire HARD drive and all the available partitions
Perhaps a partition has been created and the other part of the HARD drive is unallocated space

  • Cannot access the HARD disk drive HARD - Satellite P300 recovery

    Hi all

I want to perform a Toshiba product recovery, using the partition on the HARD disk. I did it before and no problem.

But when I press F8--> computer repair--> selection language--> then I have to select a user (Administrator / my name/guest) when I select the administrator, it says that my account has been disabled, when I select the user with my name (Kenneth) he continues to the menu where I can choose the different options for recovery. If I select the product Toshiba blah blah thingy a screen comes up saying it can't find 01 HARD drive. I did nothing with the partition containing Vista.

My guess is that I need to log in as an administrator, which is impossible. My user account in Vista is a Director,

    Can someone please?

    I use a P300

    Best regards

  • Portege R200 - performance HARD drive very poor

    Hello

I have a problem with the HDD (Toshiba MK6006GAH 60 GB) performance, because the HD Tune Pro reports me:
    Transfer rate: Minimum: 1.6 MB/s max: 2.2 MB/s average: 2.2 MB/s
Access time: 20.7 ms burst rate: 2.2 MB/s

I checked power options, but the HARD drive runs all the time.

An analysis of the error shows everything in green, so no problem on the disk. S.M.A.R.T. shows that all counters are ok, health status is reported as okay overall.

HD Tune is reporting that UDMA Mode 5 is active.

Operating system is Windows XP SP3 all hotfixes installed, 1.24 GB of RAM.

No idea what is the problem?

    Concerning

    Hello

It s an IDE 1.8 (Ultra DMA/ATA-100) 60 GB; 4200 RPM with 2 MB cache HARD drive.

The Ultra DMA/100 (also called Ultra DMA mode 5 or Ultra-ATA100) can theoretically reach speeds of 100 Mbps to readers.
But this is only a theoretical value!

However, if you wish, you can check the HARD drive by using software called disk HARD Drive Fitness Test.
You can also buy another HARD drive to test performance.

  • Disk configurations hard dv7

I have a DV7-6c95dx with a single 750 GB HDD at 5400 RPM.  I was under the impression that I could put any dirve in the second Bay.  I was driving will get a 1 to 7200 RPM (or perhaps 5400) for the second slot, but the manual provides only four configurations below.

    Hello

    > > Do I have to be the same size in each Bay?

    LON

    > > I am limited to 5400 RPM on disks 1 to (and 500 GB)?
    LON

    > > can I add a 1 to 7200 RPM in second place to go with my current 750 GB 5400?

    Yes

    > > I could put two 1 TB 7200 unit s in this machine?  (Assuming that they are not too thick to fit).

Yes, the old 1 TB HDD are a little thicker, but you can find many new 1 TB HDD now are only 9.5 mm thick

    > > Why the manual that see these four configurations in sets matching?  There are power/cooling/performance issues to consider?

Easy for the RAID configuration I think.  NO.

    > > Also... the DV7 accepts really 12.5 mm into the two slots in the car?  The second drive Bay seems not that thick and I've read elsewhere that the DV7 takes up only 9.5 mm.

As mentioned above, you will find that many of them are now only 9.5 mm thick such as good HDD, following fast:

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Replacement hard drive is shown on page 36 of the manual. Your laptop, plug, came with a disk 5400 RPM 500 GB. This model uses 7mm superslim hard drives is as well as what you buy. There are also options for a solid m2 or normal size state drive solid state SATA drive as a replacement for the mechanical drive slow 5400 RPM. In other words, it would be the perfect opportunity to speed it up a little.

It would be a 7200 RPM mechanical drive of 500 concerts and would be a good replacement at low cost:
