Any help would be appreciated... Gateway is only interested to collect money.  They have no interest in serving the poor suckers who buy their products (computer is 2 years old so it is out of warranty).

    Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately, I solved the problem myself (after 19 hours of stress).
The problem is that the recent hard disk has something different that no longer ages and makes pre-service pack 1 (SP1 solves the problem) versions of Windows 7 incompatible. My set of recovery disks have been created the day I bought the computer, which had no windows updates installed at the time.

There is an "easy solution" on the Microsoft support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us

Unfortunately, their method works only if you have a Windows 7 installation disc, which does most of the people who buy computers pre-built manufacturers. Essentially, the solution is to install SP1 from a disc when don't give you the possibility to load drivers during installation, an option that the gateway recovery disks.

So I thought that, theoretically, if I use my recovery discs to get a clean install on a hard drive that works, then use windows update to get updated (or at least to get SP1), and then make a set of NEW recovery disks (using windows backup: start > all programs > maintenance > Backup and Restore), I should be able to use these discs to install the new hard disk.

    It worked.

So for someone else who has this same problem with new hard disks, I hope that the above is easy to understand. If not, ask someone else more savvy and show them this thread. Do not forget that at the end to create new recovery disks, it will ask you if you also want to create a 'system' repair disc. DO THIS! This is the disk that you need to start from when you are ready to install.

Also: If your new hard drive is bigger than the one that you have created the new recovery disks, the partition on your new hard drive (once everything is installed) will be the same size as the one that you have created the records on. You will need to use a kind of editor of score for re - size. I recommend Gnome Partition Editor. http://www.gparted.org

Burn gparted Live CD and him, resize your partition, and you're done (google for more in-depth instructions).

    Thank you

    Hello:

I'm not sure that there is a 'one size fits all' answer to this problem, if you google the error.

The most common solution is to try to install the SATA driver.

Here is the link to the SATA drivers you need for your model. Download and extract to a usb flash drive.

First file listed is for 64-bit operating systems.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&DwnldID=22194&ProdId=2101&lang=eng&OSVersion... =

Use the Drive Options - Advanced method to install and then select the option load a driver.

If you check the box, only the compatible SATA driver is selected.

    See if it works.

    Help, please.

    Hello

Your error message, the problem is probably caused by BIOS or DVD settings or bad cabling to SATA hard drive. Please do the following to narrow down because of the problem.

    (a) ensure that all laptops the same hardware, the same manufacturer and the same model.

    (b) upgrade the BIOS to the latest version; go into the BIOS and enable "Load Fail - Safe Defaults".

    Warning of the BIOS:
BIOS change / oxide of additional metal (CMOS) semiconductor parameters incorrectly can causeserious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    (c) If you connect the SATA drives, please configure the SATA controller in compatible mode in the BIOS.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9180t PC comes with Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I had the hard drive (Seagate/Barracuda 7200, 750GB) SATA to go over me (after the expiration of the warranty of course) so I replaced it with a WD Caviar Green 1 TB drive.  When I rebooted the news of recovery disk to the new disk, VIsta worked but Windows Update does not work and I get A 8024, 000 error Code.  To worked with Microsoft to try to resolve that (never made), I am frustrated and all saved just reinstall Vista.  When I try to reinstall Vista, I now get the message "installing Windows could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer."  The installation progresses up to the stage of upgrade (a final) then I get error and it puts everything back the way I started.

The only thing I changed hardware wise is the hard drive, so this error message seems silly because Windows runs on this material.  I even double checked that Vista is always enabled.  Anyone out there have any ideas?

I am trying to install Win 7 on a HP Pavilion dv6-7012tx laptop. He brings Win 7 by default. I installed win8 once. Now I can't reinstall win7 on laptop in May. He tried to install Windows 7, but when the computer restarts and tries to complete the installation, I get the following error: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on hardware of Cet_Ordinateur."

    My laptop configuration:

By default the operating system: Win7

Processor: Intel 2nd generation Core i5

    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 630 M

Hard disk: 640 GB (SATA II)

    RAM: 6 GB DDR3

    Hello:

If you use an ordinary W7 installation DVD and use no recovery disc, the most common cause of this error is the lack of SATA drivers.

Download and extract these files on a usb flash drive. First file listed is for W7 64 bit.

    https://downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&Keyword=Intel+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST) & lang = fra

Plug the flash drive into your laptop and start your installation of W7 DVD.

When you get to install it now click on that and click the option advanced player options.

Then choose load a driver.  You should now see all the sata on your USB drivers.

You can check a box and it will include the compatible sata driver to install.

Proceed from there, and I hope that will install W7.

  • "Installation of Windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I recently released and bought 4 hard to present itself as a raid 10 disks, now I use my motherboards onboard fakeraid an ihc10r. The cables are fine and when I try and install windows 7 (64 x pro) on each disk with raid and ahci disabled in the bios, windows installs fine. Now when I raid raid 10 disks windows install can see the drive and even then, I load the drivers just to be sure that iastor.sys etc. (I tried with and without) is the same every time after the first reboot, I get about 10 minutes and 2 minutes after the resolution of the screen is adjusted BOOM "installation of windows could not configure windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

First of all, then someone please help me get windows installed on my raid?

Second, microsoft, your error messages leave much to be desired, it does not yet add a message in the Setup error log.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I did a memtest and it happened, I also have the piece of garbage jmicron on my MB off the power. In addition, the facility produces when the SATA controller is in AHCI mode, BUT not in raid mode.

Seems to me that if the software/driver is not compatible Windows 7. Also if any of the readers have reminants of your installation for each individual unit, Windows 7 may not be able to deal with formatting during the installation process. Try to download CD bootable diagnostic of the manufacture in car and do two things.

    (1) check each drive individually for issues.

    (2) wipe the drive (WD can for example remove the first and last part of the training which completely removes the MBR and other reminants for the final result is the drive looks like you just removed from the box and plugged in for the first time.)

  • This computer is not running windows genuine, even if his OEM installed OS and I recently changed my dying HDD

I've recently updated my old WD Scorpio Blue HDD(640GB) format tip of Hitachi 1 TB 7200 RPM HARD drive.

When I entered the serial number at the back of the laptop, it has not be activated and so I opted for the path of phone activation. (this was happening before too and I used to activate the phone, but never I had windows is not an authentic message).

Windows has been activated successfully, and then, suddenly, after two days, I get a message "this computer is not running genuine windows.

It's strange, because I formatted and reinstalled so many times before in the past on the old HDD.

As far as I know, the serial number is related to the motherboard of the system and not the HARD drive right?  So I don't get as to why is - that say windows is not genuine. The features of Windows Update is disabled for me...

    Details of the laptop:

    Acer Aspire 5740 G, intel i5, 4 GB RAM.

Installed antivirus: Avast Internet security (under license).

  • This PC can't run windows 10

This PC can't run windows 10
There is no supported network devices

I have the same problem, I can't believe only two of us have the same problem

I want to upgrade to windows 10 Windows 7

perhaps I misunderstood the message that I can get on the internet and the use of a wireless adapter belkin to connect to the internet is there a way around this problem

could someone from microsoft or the microsoft community help

    Robert

Please, take a breath and describe your problem in detail and in order.

I see that you have a computer running Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit?  Which edition?) at the moment and you want TO upgrade to Windows 10.  For example, so that you can properly work your mind around it - a few questions...

    Are you ready to upgrade?

How are your backups?  Made sure your consistent data (just the things important to you) backups are working correctly and can be restored from?

What your support installation and key product / series number backups - all that sorted and easily accessible?

Have you checked, while visiting with the manufacturer of your system and the manufacturers of the software, you use most on your computer, all what you have/use/want to use are supported by said manufacturer with 10 windows and discovered that, instead, you need to do to continue the use of a stringer of such things after the upgrade?

Some device drivers upgraded, you need to download?

    A software patch?

Uninstall the software before upgrading to Windows 10 and install it once the upgrade is complete?

You have refined a method of execution to a COMPLETE PICTURE of the right SYSTEM backup before you start the upgrade? After all the upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7/8.1 could be likened to move coverage while stand you on it - so it is quite complex and has its risks.  Backup offline during the upgrade (and external) media image full system is a VERY good backup plan in case something goes wrong or - you don't like it.

You might even want to clean this system some current, make sure * it * is as healthy as it could be before attempting to upgrade.  An efficient and up-to-date system is more likely to result in a smoother experience for an upgrade is as broad as this...  You could look through this previous conversation where I suggested someone clean up their system before the upgrade:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-update/scheduling-the-upgrade-to-Windows-10-not-working/13e88e85-2919-4e20-847E-94073e48090c

Some links that would be different from those in the above suggested cleanup link - if you have WIndows 7 and not Windows 8.1 (and want to do the same cleanup)...

    Disk Cleanup: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/818-disk-cleanup-open-use.html

    SFC/scannow: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

    Defragment: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11733-disk-defragmenter-open-use.html

    When you think you're ready...

Use the page web media creation tool to kick off your upgrade.

The big take away there are: the device drivers, software updates and BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!

You could even make a full image backup of your current system and CLEAN install Windows 10 using your product key Windows 7/8.1 (from - likely - your product key on your machine sticker) and start completely cleaned with 10 Windows - install everything you want or need and restore your personal/etc of your latest files backups of files/folders (not the picture of the system.)

Then, if things do not work on (pilot devices, software, etc.), you can use the system image backup to restore State "pre-fact-anything that it" and continue on.  ;-)

  • This computer is not running windows genuine with error HrOffline: 0x8004FE21.

Original title: this computer is not running genuine windows...

So, I had this PC for about 3 years now, and even more. Since this computer was bought so long ago and not even by me, but my mother, I don't know where all the CD or have papers for it. However, I know for a fact that this computer IS running Windows. I've never had this problem before. It started to appear about 4 days ago. I read everywhere and I'm not entirely sure what I need to do about it because it seems that there are many different solutions to this problem. The only new thing I added to this computer was wifi. I added a TP-Link 450 Mbps Wireless-N dual band PCI Express Adapter. TL-WDN4800 model number. I had to open the computer, put it in and install the stuff that goes with it. I did about a week or two before this message starts to appear. I don't know if this could be the reason for the message «this computer is not running genuine windows...» "is displayed.

  • I have Windows 7 genuine, but I get messages saying that this computer is not running genuine Windows

I get the message of Windows Activation technologies "this computer is not running Windows" for the last few days. When I click on 'Set online now' it takes me on the Microsoft site and offers I buy the new sofware. My Windows 7 is genuine and has been installed on my Sony Vaio again, so obviously I don't want to buy it again. After reviewing on community support area, I saw that MGADiag generates a report that could help solve the problem and it is copied below. Any help would be welcome.
