NOTIFICATION OF EMERGENCY OF HP - PLEASE READ HP LASERJET FIRMWARE UPDATE IS AVAILABLE

******************************************************************

Dear Dear customer of HP's LaserJet.

HP recently announced the possibility of a certain type of unauthorized access to some HP LaserJet printers. The potential of this unauthorized access exists for LaserJet devices on the Internet without a firewall, or in a private network, LaserJet devices if a malicious effort is made by a party on the private network to change the firmware of the device.

If no customer has reported to access HP, HP has developed a firmware update to minimize this problem. To get the latest firmware for your product, access bulletin HPSBPI02728

SSRT100692 - some printers HP and HP Digital Sender, enabled by default at this link remote Firmware update...

Actually, I lied a little.  This update is on the site of hp.  However, I have read the description where it says that there was an update of firmware for 20110329 (see below).  Further reading indicated that it was 20111215.

If anyone from hp reads this, the little smiley face that indicates that the download is done (I hope) is stupid.  A clear "done upload' would be much more appreciated.

Sigh, I need a working QA, HP could use me :-).

Description:

The utility can be used with a USB connection or network. Don't forget to use the utility to update the firmware which is specific to your model of printer.

This update is recommended for series HP Color Laser Pro CP1520 who has a firmware version prior 20110329. This utility updates the printer firmware version 20110329 (March 29, 2011).

    Hi Christophe,

It's a SCAM! Microsoft does not make that neither have they partners that do and don't they hire contractors or individuals or even to find volunteers to do. There are probably thousands of these companies out there do every day - we get two or three posts like this (or more) each day ask about it. You are lucky who have recognized the scam enough not to be sucked in and eventually identify theft, infections, hacking your computer, convince you to buy software or services you either did not need or that do not really exist at all and all sorts of nefarious stuff. You'd be surprised how much contact us AFTER THAT that they realized they had been duped asking what to do. Don't waste time talking to these people, not give them any personal information it is, don't be fooled by what they can get allows you to see on the computer - in fact, not do anything they suggest on your computer or even to visit Web sites they recommend and for the love of God don't give them access to your computer.

Microsoft knows this is happening, but with these companies popping up like dandelions, or closing and changing names when discovered and operating mainly from abroad, it would take an army of lawyers to sue each other. They do the best they can, but they are just too many and more added every day. People need to pay attention to these things. They occur not only by telephone, but also by e-mail, instant messaging, mail and all the ways imaginable. Forget not that Microsoft doesn't this and hang up or remove the emails or messages or mail from someone claiming that they do because they know the information on your computer or that you want to get information from you to confirm your account so that it will not be closed and asking you your name of user and password and all sorts of other personal information. Microsoft DO NOT!

This email is a phishing scam. I got the same email this morning and, being the paranoid sort, I always check these things carefully whenever people begin to ask for my "details".

After carefully checking the sender information in the e-mail header, it seems likely that these emails are broadcast by some kind of composed bot network other hijacked email addresses.

Secondly, the link provided for you to click, wriggle, shows that it is registered to a Malaysian firm called Emerge Inc. and in the case of most of the browsers will actually trigger an alert to the phishing scam (personally I use FF and Chrome, which gave the alert).

  • When I reply to an e-mail message, I need an option to have the active attachment to this email (as in redirect)...

When I send an e-mail message, the attachment is automatically added to the new e-mail message. It is ok. However when I answer, the attachment does not come and sometimes I need to have the current attachment. So I need an option like "reply with attachment" or something like that...

    Thank you

    Re: Forwarding

You have the possibility to transmit the received email 'inline' or as an 'attachment '.
This can be set up here:
'Tools' > 'Options' > "Composition" > tab "General".
It is because you do not react to a specific e-mail - selection of information of another person to another person, who may be better sent as an attachment.

    Re: response
In this case, you have the possibility:

    • include the email received in a response
    • Does not include the e-mail received in a response
    • include the selected part (citation) of the email received in response.

A response implies an ongoing conversation and if the option to include the conversation is available.
This is put in place here:
"Tools" > "Account settings" > "Composition & addressing" for the e-mail account.

But whether you choose to "automatically quote the original message when replying" or not, you can always highlight a section of text and then click 'Reply' to include only the selected section of the text.

A response will also include all received attachments attached to the original email because you don't need to send the shippers own spare.

Otherwise, you create a new message 'Write' and attach the original e-mail, so this isn't technically an answer - you do not use the 'Reply' button and these emails will not be strung. It is more difficult to see the continuity of the conversation.
