Cr2 Files of 5 d Mark II

I have a new Canon 5 d Mark II, which is out of the box with the firmware rev 1.0.7. When I download RAW CR2 of this camera files these files are not recognized by Camera Raw CS4 ver 5.0. I tried to convert the CS2 files to DNG automatically using bridge to download the camera, but got a warning message that the DNG conversion failed for all images. I even if the 5 d Mk II CS2 format was compatible with the latest versions of CS4, but maybe that's not so for this firmware revision?

My apologies if many of you have been on this already!

Covered several times... you must update to the latest version of Camera Raw 5.3 actual shipping version and version 5.4 final candidate tests. See: Camera Raw Product Page 5.3 and labs.adobe.com for ACR 5.4 RC.

    Update your ps cs5.

you need cr 6.7 or better and ps cs5 can be updated to RC 6.7.

update by downloading the files directly and then apply them:

  • 5 d mark II raw (CR2) file is different from the 5 d CR2 file? Adobe Camera Raw error on mk II No 5 d

I use the plugin Photoshop Camera Raw (Adobe) to preprocess the colors, and then complete the prepare image in Photoshop.  Never a problem with opening files CR2, usually from my own camera 5 d.  But a customer sent a few files CR2 which opens not (error says this is bad kind of document).  So far no explanation nor patches from users of Photoshop... thought I would ask experts to Canon.  Why file CR2 from the 5 d mk II fail but 5 d CR2 files all open ok?

Still using Photoshop CS2 and the plugin Camera Raw is 3.7 v.  I really want to continue this workflow (works for me), prefer not to experiment with dpp or other opportunities.  Not ready to move yet to Photoshop CS6.

No, CR2 (and all files camera RAW manufacturer) are modified somewhat for pretty much every version of the camera.  Similarly, manufacturers of software like adobe are always updated their software for the new models.  Your version of Adobe Camera Raw is extremely old, so that it can not read the 5 d 2 files.  And Adobe limited backward compatibility, so I don't know if you can load a sufficiently recent version to recognize the 5 d 2 files.  If you can't, then you're only choice would be to use the Adobe DNG Converter, convert batch files to DNG, the 5 d 2 then read those.

  • Lightroom CC & DNG Converter cannot open the CR2 files, but Photoshop CC can?

    Hi guys,.

I have a problem with raw on this computer files and I can't understand why. I can open my. In Photoshop CC CR2 files, but the same files are not readable by Lightroom or Adobe DNG converter. Lightroom says "files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom", and the converter DNG said "source folder contains no raw files of any supported camera."

All software is updated to the date of this post. The. CR2 files come out a cannon 80 d and a Canon 7 d and are not corrupt (as evidenced by the fact that Photoshop has no problem to open). Other raw files that have been imported directly from cameras, or that were copied from the camera memory cards a different machine, then transferred to the machine in question were very well. Other machines have no problem with those files, either. It is something specific to the software installed on this machine and how it is configured, and I'm at a loss as to what could be the cause of it.

At one point, app Windows photo was accidentally set as default application to open CR2 files. This may have been when the problem started, but I can't say for sure. Whatever it is, this problem has been fixed; Lightroom is now set as the default application for CR2 files. The machine was also installed on CaptureOne (since it is uninstalled) and he had the same problems with these raw files.

Before you reinstall Windows, someone at - it suggestions?

Suggest your Camera Raw (used by Photoshop, but not Lightroom) is 9.5.

In Lightroom, click Help > topic. Must they be 2015.5.1 if you are up-to-date. You need at least 2015.5 for 80 d files.

    The. CR2 files come out a cannon 80 d and a Canon 7 d

You mean the 7 D Mark II? The 7 d is an old camera since 2009.

  • Canon. CR2 files, he but unreadable.

    @

I have a sizey problem and have never used forums but I tried everything so here Let's go!

Usual method of copying the CR2 files:

    Canon 5 d mkiii

Legit Sandisk 16 gb card CF Extreme
Copies files to an end 2013 27 "iMac.

    Problem:

The files seem to have corrupted somehow, I can see only about 30 pictures through the camera LCD screen, the rest came with a question mark.
The CF card is identified by the mac there is no file there, but in 'get info' of the CF, he says it's a PCI full height.

    Tried:

I tried using different card readers.

I tried to copy the files on the SD card placed on the form of the computer, the SD - the files are there and they are the correct normal file size but there is no overview and the file is non-working in several programs.

I tried to format the SD card and using "rescue card" to bring their return but the same problem occurs.

I contacted a specialist and he said he'll try and get back them for $300 if recoverable and $0 if nothing is salvageable...

I wonder if any legend out there can share some information to this rare case... the pictures are for a client and it's quite stressful.

    Much appreciated!

    Dunc.

    Problem with CR2 files.

Clearly the data on your memory card is corrupted, and maybe it's the card, itself, is damaged physically/electronically.

If the various photo recovery programs can't see the image data, so he card is probably bad and the images are lost.  If only the directory on the card information are poorly written, but the images are accessible on the map, if you knew where the data were, so perhaps an image recovery program that recognizes your camera raw photos, would be able to find other photos.  Since now you have formatted your card, certain directory information has been deleted, so only a program that recognizes the images would be of no use.

I suggest using as many photo recovery programs as you can, to see if any of them find thumbnails of images more than the 30 or so you saw originally and then try to recover with those.  If no other program recovery find more photos and images probably aren't there anymore, because the electronic memory card is damaged.  Usually photo recovery programs will scan and show you the htumbnails of images for free, but you pay for actually saving off the recovered images.  It could very well be that the programs are able to recover the integrated preview jpg files but not the raw data.  The built-in preview JPGs are better than nothing.

Some high end cameras have two slots for cards and you can have the camera write the same image in each of the two memory cards where one of the cards goes wrong.  What you're saying, that you must not have has your camera set up in this way.

  • I can't open the Raw CR2 files into 10 elements

I had to buy a new computer today.  I installed my 10 items and cannot open my raw CR2 files.  I was able to open them on my old computer.  I tried to put up-to-date as my camera raw plug in and it did not help.  I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling the elements and still does not work.  Tried to ask Adobe in the chat, but I was told that they offer no support for older versions.  Help, please!

Following the links in my previous post.

The 5 d Mark III was first supported by camera Raw 6.7 compatible with 10 items.

Check and confirm that you actually have Camera Raw 6.7 installed to 10 items.

10 items, click Help > updates to update your plug in Camera Raw.

    Manual download

Win: Adobe - Photoshop Elements: for Windows: Camera Raw 6.7 update for 10 items

Mac: Adobe - Photoshop Elements: for Macintosh: Camera Raw 6.7 update for 10 items

  • Why can't I import CR2 files in Lightroom?

When I try to import a CR2 file I get a response that the files are not recognized by the assumption of raw in Lightroom.

    I downloaded the latest version.

    I use a Canon 7 d Mark II

Click Help and at the bottom of the context menu, you should see:

    On Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1

    This is the latest version.

Otherwise, if you have installed via a subscription cloud creative launch CC Office and install the latest version of Lightroom from there.

If you have a purchased stand alone version of the LR5, go to:

    Help > Check for Updates

    Install 5.7.1

  • Photoshop CS4 has suddenly stopped to recognize CR2 files

    I'm working on a mac.

I could open my raw files of CR2 (canon eos 5 d mark II) without problems before Christmas, now, but I get the error 'Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this file type'.

I tried to update my plugin raw, both through download the package by photoshop, but the problem still remains.

My version of the plugin seems to be 5.0.0.178 if that helps at all.

You need at least 5.2 for the 5 d mk2. Not sure how you managed to drop a few versions, as most people cannot do even if they try!

The best version of ACR for CS4 is 5.7. You can download it here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4680

elements of Adobe photoshop 11 will not read my canon T5 raw CR2 files.

    Why?

    need help!

    Hi Zach.

Sorry to say but 12 items came out a few months before your camera. Adobe stops the files updated camera raw for the older editions of software in order to get people to buy new versions of software when they get a new camera. It happened to me with LR3 when I got a new camera.

Work towers there but they are a lot of steps, and I think you would be the conversion of files to one format other than RAW (tiff?) and that I'm not sure that will happen the same.

I think you just need to get a newer items.

  • I have a 80 d but iPhoto, Lightroom 5 & Photoshop will not import RAW (CR2) files

I just bought n 80 d and was happy with the possibility of processing the RAW (CR2) files, but all my photo programs will not import the files, because they are not recognized. iPhoto, Photoshop and Lightroom 5.  I'm under Maverick on my Mac.  Strange thing however, Image Capture will import them. Any suggestions?

The 80 d is a bit too new.  It is normal that updates camera RAW trolling a few months.

I see that Adobe does support your camera if you upgrade to Lightroom CC.  See: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2016/03/camera-raw-9-5-now-available.html

As for Apple, you can see a big difference between updates of the Mavericks:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201071

vs updates for El Capitan (Mavericks is two complete versions behind):

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT205272

Even though Apple has not yet released the Digital Camera RAW for the 80 D update, I'm pretty confident that you will find that you have to upgrade to get to El Capitan.  BTW, OS updates are free from Apple.  Just launch your app 'App Store' and check the updates and you should see which indicates that an upgrade of the OS is available for you.  (Apple has stopped selling updates of the BONE several years ago.)
