  • Crash with the image with the evil tiff tag type

    I have a small application that uses the XMP sdk to read metadata. We had a problem with break which proved because of a tiff tag bad value entry type IFD that was out of the acceptable range of 1-12 (actually a jpg image). This led to intermittent crashing to the TIFF_MemoryReader::GetTag because kTIFF_TypeSizes method [thisTag-> type] would find a random value of memory outside the enum. If it was zero, a division by zero would occur when the info-> count is calculated. If this does not work, then an assertion would catch it (in debug mode) in the ImportTIFF_CheckStandardMapping method in ReconcileTIFF.cpp.

    I just added a label control in TIFF_MemoryReader::GetTag that seems to work OK. I was wondering if this is the best solution, or if a change should be made in the sdk. I don't know that this type of bad image is not common. I can make the image available if it would help.

    Thank you.

    Hi Broga,

    Thanks for reporting this.

    Our next SDK release will have a range check added to TIFF_MemoryReader::GetTag to make it more robust for these bad files.

  • Acquisition of CL crashes when the image is too light?

    I have a strange problem and I can't be sure either the camera or the Board of Directors: basically, in any method of execution, when the image is too light, the acquisition stops and I get a timeout in MAX. It is with a PCIe-1433 and Point grey Gazelle. Blockage of the camera and restarting acquisition works very well. This occurs at any time, that the majority of the image gets to 80% brightness.

    To make things more confusing, this can sometimes be corrected by the passage of cable (the same 5 meters OR cable model, but just another); now, however, I have a couple of cameras that show that all cable and so I need to get it figured out. It would certainly be a problem of camera or a combination and so I contact PMP as well. Anyone has any ideas on this? Thanks in advance for any info!

    I would suspect that your CameraLink cables cannot meet performance requirements for speed of clock and the distance, that you are running. Unlike most new buses at high speed, the underlying mechanism of encoding on the wire for CameraLink has a characteristic resistance to noise (even among his own peers) depends somewhat on the actual data values are transmitted. Since the frame control signals are passed in the same channel as the content of the image itself, if there is some noise/interaction between them on the wire, they could cause problems of behavior on the side of the acquisition.

    If your camera supports the lowering of the frequenency of the clock, you might be able to check that helps the behavior. If it does, I recommend trying to replace the cables with superior quality-those. The CameraLink Committee now has a test of official certification of cables which is very comprehensive. I would say in ensuring that the cables you are using are actually tested for these certification tests.

  • Satellite A200-24 c (PSAE6) - display crashes when the images are zoomed

    Dear Sirs, I can't believe that there is no solution for the product that you produce. As my Toshiba I bought 14 months ago and try to fix it. I have a problem with my map displays 'ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600' when I see photos with Windows Photo Gallery and try to enlarge... display screen will hang and go with black and red blocks!

    I tried to install all kinds of windows (XP - Vista Basic Ultimate). I tried to download all versions of catalyst for the version 6 and 9.7. So what is happening!

    Do you know that most of my friends and the people hated the Toshiba brand because of this bad reputation on the market... remember that Toshiba laptops with Nvidia graphics card doesn't have the same problem. Please please please help me!

    Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Hello!

    You have installed the Catalyst 9.7 driver. Don't know that this driver doesn't have protection against overheating and could destroy your graphics card?
    I would recommend so install the latest driver of display on the Toshiba site. These drivers are pre-tested on your laptop.

    In addition, I would try to update the BIOS. AFAIK some A200 models are special BIOS available for XP and Vista version.
    Check and update the BIOS!

    Good bye

  • HP T610 more: HPDM deployment for t610 image more crashes during the installation of the new initial start of the image

    We are working on the update of our thin clients HP T610 more.  Update us the thin clients in the last image of the OS WES7P and also update to IE11 and Citrix receiver 4.4.

    We use HPDM 4.6.4

    We have successfully several T610s and update the image of the OS and related software with no problems.  We are then able to use the 4.6.4 to successfully shoot HPDM and image of these thin clients updated in the master repository.

    We then create a task to deploy the new image to several thin clients.  We configure the task to use the imagery being cached, and then run the task.  HPDM then successfully deploys the image for thin clients.

    Customers accept the image cache and once the image is fully downloaded they restart to deploy the image.   After the restart, the image unfolds and decompresses correctly, then the thin client, start the original installation of Windows.

    But for 90% or more of these newly imaged thin clients that they get hung up during the installation of Windows (usually during the message that windows is written to the Registry).  Once the thin clients get hung at this stage they are inaccessible and unrecoverable by HPDM and must be copied via USB.

    We believe that the issue is somehow related monitors are connected to thin clients.  If isolate us completely thin clients monitors, then deploy an image the new image is OK.  HPDM reports that the image has been deployed successfully.  If we then go back to thin clients and reconnect the monitors of the thin client is updated and the screen seems to be in standard vga mode low resolution.  A restart of the thin client then recognizes and sets the appropriate screen resolution, and the thin client is good to go.

    What is normal sound monitors must be separated to deploy a new image?

    Thanks for any idea or thougts.

    From the point of view HPDM, disconnect monitor is not required when you deploy the image. Personal thought is that there is a compatibility problem between the display driver, graphics card and the system. Installing Windows intend to write a default registry value based on connected monitor (maybe display settings), for some reason, he was stuck. I'm not the driver or the operating system that you are an expert, I would say that you submit a ticket to HP for additional troubleshooting.

  • Photoshop 7 (Windows 10), when you select the size of the Image or the size of the canvas, now crashes

    Photoshop 7 (Windows 10), when you select the size of the Image or the size of the canvas, he now is suspended and does not bring the selector upwards.

    It works fine, but I suspect that some Win 10 update in the last couple days has skewed anything. Any ideas?

    I know it of old, but even after the upgrade to Windows 10 4 weeks, Photoshop 7 installed always OK, so I'm happy with it.

    It worked until yesterday.

    I could start by resetting the photoshop preferences file and see if that solves the problem.

    Press on and hold Shift + Ctrl + Alt just after the beginning of the launch of photoshop 7

    (you have to be fast while pressing down or you won't get the dialog box)

    Keep possession of the keys down until you get a dialog box asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop settings file

    Press Yes

    Also, if you have not applied the update of photoshop 7.0.1 you should do the same.

  • computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday night

    Hi, Kevin

    My computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday evening. The message indicates that the demand for window vista (which initially provided with the Lenovo computer, that I bought new in 2007) is not valid. When I rebooted and you press F5, it offers 3 options 'Security Mode', but no return explicitly beforehand updated status.

    I'm not familiar with uninstalling and restoring systems. Can you walk me through the process? Can I uninstall or restore when the computer is in mode security (limited capacity)? How a WAIK/Windows PE image downloaded to another computer to help me with the computer that is out?

  • How can I remove the user name and the image of Windows XP new Start Menu

    Two questions:

    1. How can I delete the user name and the image of Windows XP new start; and

    2. my computer keeps asking me to press the F1 key to start Windows.  How to skip this part?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    The image of user account can be removed by disabling the Welcome screen. Or, by opting for the classic Windows theme. Follow the method described in this article, if you want to remove the user name and the picture in the Start Menu, without disabling the Welcome screen and Windows XP theme.

    For those who want to delete the user name and the image of user account from the Start Menu, in order to have a blue white Panel at the top, try this:

    Registry warning
    Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322756/

    Step 1:

    a. start Windows Explorer and go to this folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account images

    b. in this folder, rename the BMP file that corresponds to your user account.

    (For example, if your user name is Robert, rename Robert.bmp to old_Robert.bmp)

    c. then rename the following folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\Default pictures

    to something else, for example,.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft account Pictures\No_Default images.

    Step 2:

    To remove the user name, follow these steps

    a. Click Start, click "RUN" and type "regedit.exe" and navigate to this key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Windows Microsoft\------CurrentVersion-policies-Explorer

    b. in the right pane, the value NoUserNameInStartMenu-value data 1.

    c. close Regedit.exe and restart Windows.

    You'll find yourself with a blue area at the top of the Start Menu.

    Regarding the pressing 'F1' to start Windows, you have made no changes or was there a system crash after which the problem started?

    You may need to change the boot sequence in the BIOS to the default settings. I recommend you contact your PC vendor for this.

    Warning of the BIOS:
    BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • How to analyze the image url in json?

    Hello

    I get the response from the server and crawled through json. And display it in the field

    Like name1 as:

    try {}
    labelField1.setText (jsonObject2.get("name1").toString ());
    }

    catch (JSONException e)

    {
    System.out.println ("JSONException Description");
    }

    Similarly, I want to make the image. How to analyze the url of the image and display it in the BitmapField?

    You must create a separate thread to extract the bytes of the image of the URL you have.

    You can use the following code to get the image to the server.

    public EncodedImage getImageBytesFromURL(String url){
            ConnectionFactory connFactory = null;
            ConnectionDescriptor connDescriptor = null;
            HttpConnection httpConn = null;
            InputStream inputStream = null;
            byte[] response = null;
            try {
                connFactory = new ConnectionFactory();
                connFactory.setConnectionTimeout(10*1000);
                connFactory.setAttemptsLimit(1);
                connDescriptor = connFactory.getConnection(url;interface=wifi);
                if (connDescriptor != null) {
                    httpConn = (HttpConnection) connDescriptor.getConnection();
                    inputStream = httpConn.openInputStream();
                    int responseCode = httpConn.getResponseCode();
                    if(responseCode == HttpConnection.HTTP_OK){
                        response = readStream(inputStream);
                    }
                }
            }catch (IOException e) {

            }finally {
                try {
                    inputStream.close();
                    httpConn.close();
                    inputStream = null;
                    httpConn = null;
                    connDescriptor = null;
                    connFactory = null;
                } catch (Exception e) {

                }
            }
            EncodedImage encodedImage = null;
            if(response != null){
                encodedImage = EncodedImage.createEncodedImage(response, 0, response.length);
            }
            return encodedImage;
        }

    Remember that this method should be in a background thread. Otherwise, your user interface crashes. The encodedImage that returns the method above can be easily converted to bitmap and set in your bitmapfield.
