• Create modeless popup windows in plugin view

  Hello

  I was able to create a modeless window using the crib of Popup plugin on certain actions in my opinion. The purpose of the popup is to view the progress of a task. Once the task is completed the popup updates the status.

  I created the popup using mx.core.FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication as the parent object.

  Popup opens always and given listed status, I am able to navigate to reach other views of the web client UI.

  For example, then click on the 'Home' button in the web client, I can still see the popup. That's because I used mx.core.FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication as a parent object when creating popup.

  Its kind of interfering with the user interface of the web client.

  I want to reach Next:

  I would like to limit the popup in my plugin views. While I can navigate to different views in my plugin and see again the popup to check the status of the progress. Also if I navigate to the user interface of the web client, I don't want to have the popup parasites.

  Sorry, this is not possible and you are not allowed to add a modeless popup for this reason.

  You can only display status inside your own point of view of plugin.

  Would be unwise to put your information on the page of the main site where everyone can see it?

  Loading of the automatic pop-up windows will be blocked by browsers with blocking the windows boxes (about 98%).   If the visitor of the site launches the popup by clicking on a link, the pop-up is blocked.

  That said, the way in which open pop-ups depends on the settings of the browser of the visitor to your site.  For some, it may open in a new tab.  For others in a new window.  It is usually best to keep important information on the page of the main site where everyone will see it.

  Pop-up in Dreamweaver:

  Select a link.  Go in the behaviors panel.  Click the plus sign + and choose open browser window.  This will send a dialogue for the URL, the size of the window, scroll bars, etc...  Here is a tutorial of old, but it is still topical.

• You can create a popup and still allow interaction with parents?

  I searched all over Google and the forums and can't seem to find what I need.
  
  Is there a way to create a popup window that does not make the unusable parent window while it is displayed? I would like to create a popup 'help' for an application, but while the popup is displayed, I would like users to still be able to use the application itself.

  Methods for creating or adding pop-up windows have a modal parameter that specifies what you mentioned. By default it is set to false, so you shouldn't have a problem unless you're set to true:

  Recently, called assist of Babylon took control of Firefox and I had to reset Firefox to get rid of it. As a result, I lost the ability to right-click on a page and select from a list that allowed me to view the details of the form in a popup window.   I think're missing you an extension you used before. After using the Reset, a folder is created on the desktop with a name similar to "Old Firefox settings." If you open this folder, you will find a subfolder named extensions that contains your previous collection. The problem in using this as a point of reference, it is that a lot of extensions is stored in a GUID rather than their friendly name. But it could still be worth a visit, and you could Google the GUID to see if find you any matches.

  P.S. I'm curious to know what it was.

  There are a lot of options to customize the behavior of the jQuery dialog box. You can set the height as auto, but you must specify a fixed width based on the content.

  $( "#TEST_POPUP" ).dialog({ height: "auto", width:500 });
  

  Default value for height is automatic, you may not specify it.

  don't think that you can align in a region within a component. The property id align expects a component reference. Note that the mouse on a bar chart does not select the bar, which means that the data in the link layer are not defined in progress (just in case the data in the pop-up window to be dependent)

  You can pass the names of items in a table for the popup and use some JavaScript to assign values to these elements by using something like

  opener.document.getElementById(vItemId).value

  You can use curly braces to include the values of the recordset object directly:

  $text = "my task, [{$row_Recordset1 ['task']}], is at the top [{$row_Recordset1 ['RankPercent']}] tasks in the company."

• Prevent openBrWindow to reuse the existing popup window?

  I have a page created in Dreamweaver CS3 containing several thumbnail images, each of which can be clicked to display a popup window showing a larger version of the same image. To do this, I use the command openBrWindow to Javascript.

  Example:

  onclick = "MM_openBrWindow ('example2.html ',' example 2 ',' width = 800, height is 600')" >

  If I click on the thumbnail with the first link above, it displays the pop-up properly at 640 x 480.  However, if I then click on the second link without first close existing popup, rather than open a second popup in 800 x 600, it loads in the existing pop-up - which a) keeps its 640 x 480 size and b) seems hidden behind the main window (parent).

  I was unable to find a solution which will force the browser to launch a new window popup for each link. Can anyone offer advice?

  Check to make sure the real names you; ve entered all are different.  If they are the same then it will reuse the same window that you discovered.  Or leave this completely empty value!  Without window name value it will spawn multiiple windows and not to reuse them.
