Create a survey - Novice Question of Javascript

Hello

I'm new to Javascript extrememely.  I did some research on the Internet and I need to copy and paste the code to create the results.  I am creating an online survey in Dreamweaver in which users select buttons to answer the questions, and then the total results appear at the bottom of the investigation.  So far, that's what I have:

http://sicolaconsulting.com/SurveyTest4.php

The problem I have with it is that on each line, the user can select more than one box.  I'm not so I thought of radio buttons would be better.  I then came to this:

http://sicolaconsulting.com/SurveyTest3.php

The problem is that with the function that I use, I can't get it displays the value of the first line.  I need to calculate the sum of all the lines.

Can you help me to revise the script that I have to get my desired result.

Here is my code for the first page, followed the code of the second page.  Thank you!

    I know that I can create a survey using web apps, but I have some questions regarding its use and collection. Also I realize I can create an imaginary user and hide the name and email input fields.

    (1) without additional code to set a cookie, am I correct to assume that there is no way to prevent people from voting twice or more? I can't stop him based on e-mail if I use a generic email address, and even if I wanted them to enter an email address it looks not to I could stop making them more than once.

    (2) I guess that using a generic e-mail address means that it changes the real choice in the database. In other words, the value for their choice would change, and if 50 people under investigation, I would onely never have only one value. Is that correct.

    (3) collection of results - if I am wrong in my assumption in (2) above, then I guess that the only way to collect the results real, is to set up a workflow, receive emails and manually collect data.

    (4) NOT using a generic email address - allows to assume that I have everyone make use of names and a real email address. How to collect the survey data without using a workflow and emails to collect manually according to (3) above?

    Find the anser # 4 here - http://www.adobe.com/devnet/businesscatalyst/articles/creating_a_survey.html , although you would still need download the report and make and if statement in excel to calculate the numbers. There is no graphics either so this is not a real poll.

    Answers for the other 3 would help, because even if I'm sure I'm not mistaken, confirmation would help.

    Thank you

    HI John,.

    I'll try to answer some of these questions, though, web applications are not a good module to create surveys. There is no right module in British Colombia for the polls. ID' suggest to a hosted solution that can be easily integrated in BC using javascript. In any case, here it is:

    1. without extra code to set a cookie, am I correct to assume that there is no way to prevent people from voting twice or more? I can't stop him based on e-mail if I use a generic email address, and even if I wanted them to enter an email address it looks not to I could stop making them more than once.< if="" you="" look="" at="" our="" wishlist,="" the="" way="" it's="" been="" implemented="" is="" as="">

    -Each element of the wish list is an element of web application.

    -All votes are comments (uses comments module)

    -The rule set on these comments, it is "can only comment once.

    You know how you're implementing the voices, but no other support "only once" module limitation.

    2. I guess that using a generic e-mail address means that it changes the real choice in the database. • How to create a survey online or for new customers?

    Hello

    I want to create a survey for my new graphical clients. I have a few business questions to new clients and need written answers. I want to stop sending a pdf form, is not well designed for an excellent online form.

    In fact, I know how to how I will present and send the page, but not for a tip: how to create an editable multiline text field online by someone Muse?

    I tried to use this type of text box of a contact form, but it is not effective.

    I tried a wuffoo embed widget, but I don't want to use an external service (like getosmosis.com, or something)

    I have well on the browser in editing, but I don't know if it's a good idea to do this, or really effective.

    I want to build a page scrolling with anchor points and a vertical menu sticking to the 10 chapters of questions and a "send" button at the end to receive the form in my Inbox mailbox, exactly like a message in a contact zone.

    You have an idea? Advice?

    Thanks for that, guys.

    Mikael.

    Forms are forms and editing in the browser has nothing to do with it. I'm afraid that you really need to use other services or sign up to a British Colombia account Pro, if it is really so important to you.

  • Creating a hot spot question

    I am wanting to create a hot spot question. I have an image that I created for this question. I've identified "hot spots" on the image and when I preview the issue, hot spots are already identified before the user clicks top. I will use this issue to test the attention of person with ability to detail. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    hot spot.jpg

    Erik, it is a matter of default access point, the hot spots have a default setting with a stroke of 1 p in blue. You must make this race 0 for width make the invisible race.

    Select the hot spot, open the properties panel and set the width of the stroke to 0. If you wish for all the hot spots, you can save the style as default style, using the diskette icon just beneat Style (second icon from the left)

  • Novice question: PhoneGap and AJAX

    I having difficulty getting even basic AJAX to work with PhoneGap developer and wanted to see if someone could help me.

    I'm currently testing using the W3Schools PHP AJAX sample, so I can sort of "accumulation" my PhoneGap/AJAX capabilities to develop the functionality of user login for a mobile application that I've been responsible for creating. But, as someone who is not a programmer by any means (and that tends to confuse networking questions... don't even start on proxies!), I'm baffled to even try to get the W3Schools sample to work.

    The sample, which can be found here (AJAX PHP), is as follows. (For those who, like me, also not by spirit program and who think better visually, the sample has a text box where if you type the first few letters of the name of a person, it will try to find names starting with those letters in the database file that it invites. It displays the real-time results of what it finds in the area of text that the user types).

    HTML/JavaScript/AJAX:

    < html>
    < head >
    < script >
    function showHint (str) {}
    If (str.length == 0) {}
    document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML = "";
    return;
    } else {}
    var XMLHTTP = new XMLHttpRequest();
    XMLHTTP.onreadystatechange = function() {}
    If (xmlhttp.readyState == 4 & & xmlhttp.status == 200) {}
    document.getElementById("txtHint").innerHTML = xmlhttp.responseText;
    }
    };
    XMLHTTP. Open ("GET", "gethint.php? q =" + str, true);
    XMLHTTP. Send();
    }
    }

    echo $hint = ""? "no suggestion": $hint; "

    ? >

    Test the HTML file in my browser, everything works perfectly.

    However, do the above in a project PhoneGap and test it on my Android phone, the possibility of dismissal of name does not work. And of course thanks to the AJAX control is not running.

    Anyone know how I can fix this problem? I've already put the following in my config.xml file and nothing changed:

    < access origin = "" * "subdomains ="true"/ >"

    Thanks in advance.

    You pouvez host PHP files locally on your dev machine, although I suggest the implementation of a virtual test machine so that you don't have to muck about with the main configuration of your dev machine.  In addition, if your virtual machine is a linux VM, which will give practice you when you put something in place elsewhere, because chances are good that you it would be deployed to a linux machine in the cloud. There are many devices out there who have a LAMP stack put in place of the out-of-the-box (LLinux Apache, MySQL, PHP) - for example, https://www.turnkeylinux.org/lampstack.

    As long as your mobile device is on the same network as your development computer (/VM), you can connect with a local IP address (like 192.168. *). You must also be able to connect using your local hostname (such as your - macbook.local) or something similar. It depends on how you configure when you create a virtual machine, but virtual machines live generally on your network with a different IP address on your dev machine. (This behavior, however, is usually the default.)

    You can also use environments such as Cloud9 and similar services to test the code like this. They are not suitable for production code, but you can run a PHP script (or node, etc.) and essentially have an external server underpowered with little or no effort on your part.

    Side note: personally, to avoid 'localhost' even during the test, because 'localhost' can mean several things depending on what you are testing for:

    • essay on a physical device: made localhost refers to the device
    • testing on an emulator: done localhost refers to the emulator
    • tests on iOS Simulator: done localhost refers to the machine of dev
    • test in a browser on your dev machine: locahost refers to the machine of dev

    If you use host names/IP addresses, there is no ambiguity, so why I suggest to use it.

    Finally, don't forget to check that your firewall accepts external requests on port, that you intend to use.

  • Can Adobe create a survey for my business form?

    I have an existing form that is a tool for a broad investigation into a unmanageable format.  Adobe may provide services to simplify the survey forms?

    Document PDF of Cloud services

    Hi neild,.

    Adobe provides form design services, but we have several applications that allow you to create your own forms. You can use Acrobat or Adobe LiveCycle. For more information, see Adobe Document Cloud | Adobe Acrobat DC and ES4 design designer full tool | Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 4.

    Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • How do I create a multiple answer question no timing?

    Hello

    I tried to understand the best way to do this Captivate 7, but could not find an answer. I hope you can help out me because I'm stuck

    I need to create a question with 10 possible answers. They believe only - not correct or incorrect.

    A bit like:

    "You go shopping. What you want to buy? »

    1. apples

    2 bread

    3 milk

    4 muffins

    5 flour

    6 juice

    7 blocks

    8. for dishes.

    etc.

    The learner must be able to select none, some, or all, then click submit and advance to the next slide, with no feedback given. I can't follow anything for the LMS.

    What should I use to do? Interaction, Quiz, survey, or Widget?

    I'm pretty weak with variables, so I hope that your solution will be simple

    Thank you!

    Strange... You may have multiple CHOICE which is a survey rather than a graduated (no score automatically) question with multiple answers. Delete all messages for feedback and the buttons you want, only submit is actually needed, you decide for the other buttons. But then the user must check at least one option. Maybe you can add the option 'I don't know' or 'I can't choose? This will be an easy fix.

    The bar is all you need to submit the file.

    There are a number of positions (including many on this first page) on how to package and sign your app Note you only need to package your application (no sign) to the quality of the offer. Do not sign your bar so that you can allow people to buy/download your application.

  • Question about JavaScript

    Dear community,

    I have a question about how Google, Bing and other search engines respond to JavaScript. I have a slideshow on my site that I built with JavaScript, without any Flash. Now Google & co. read the links and the text out of it? Please take a look at the slide show:

    http://version4.movie-infos.NET/MI35/index.html

    Thank you

    MC

    If you can see the links and text in the source of the page when you navigate to it on your site, then it will be a search engine.

    Assuming that you are talking about this link-

    http://version4.movie-infos.NET">."

    and this text-

    Tron: Legacy
    Unsere Kritik zum Sci-Fi-event

    So yes - she is visible to both you and the search engines.

  • Creating a variable to use in Javascript

    I created a website with a search function where the user can use the drop down menus. It is in a small window that opens when you click on advanced search. They choose the first descent down, then the next menu drop down appears and has inside elements depending on what was chosen in the first menu drop-down. This works, except that it works on our www. site. If you do not type in the www., these drop-down menus do not work. These drop downs using Javascript and in this javascript, I have the full path of our web site to the .cfm file where it's more javascript to the bottom of the fall. This path has the www. in it. Does anyone know how I can write this while the two lanes or paths work - with and without the www. ? Do I need to set up some kind of variable to use? How to do that in Javascript. I think I can do it in Cold Fusion, but I don't think it will work in javascript. The web site is www.ironwoodelectronics.com here is the JavaScript below. Thank you.

    Andy

    <script>
         function getICNumber() {
              $('#ICNumber').load("http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com/incICNumber.cfm",{ManufacturerID:$('#select_ManufacturerID').val()});
         }
         function getPackage() {
              $('#Package').load("http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com/incPackage.cfm",{ManufacturerID:$('#select_ManufacturerID').val(),ICNumber:$('#select_IC_Number').val()});
         }

         function getPackageType() {
              $('#PackageType').load("http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com/incPackageType.cfm",{FunctionID:$('#select_FunctionID').val()});
              $('#Pitch').html("");
         }
         function getPitch() {
              $('#Pitch').load("http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com/incPitch.cfm",{FunctionID:$('#select_FunctionID').val(),PackageID:$('#select_PackageID').val()});
         }
         function getBody() {
              $('#Pitch').load("http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com/incPitch.cfm",{FunctionID:$('#select_FunctionID').val(),PackageID:$('#select_PackageID').val(),PitchID:$('#select_PitchID').val()});
         }
         function getArray() {
              $('#Pitch').load("http://www.ironwoodelectronics.com/incPitch.cfm",{FunctionID:$('#select_FunctionID').val(),PackageID:$('#select_PackageID').val(),PitchID:$('#select_PitchID').val(),BodyID:$('#select_BodyID').val()});
         }
    </script>

    You have two errors.

    First of all, you have any hash of escape characters (#) located in CFOUTPUT which are not used for CF to output variables. Escape you by doubling their:

    $('#ICNumber').load

    should be

    $('##ICNumber').load

    Second, CGI. HTTP_HOST contains only the host, Protocol, etc. So, you have to do something like this:

    $('##ICNumber').load ("http://#cgi.http_host#" "/...")

  • Question of JavaScript event...

    Hello

    I'm writing JavaScript code that runs when an entry is selected from a Popup LOV. But because the and its corresponding element hidden are filled from JavaScript on the page of the child, it does not trigger a change/development event.

    I need a way I thought to overcome this, but not yet tried to create a new Popup LOV template and locally override the JavaScript function with the same code + a little something.

    Is there a better solution?

I created the button but I am at a loss on how to code relax when button pressed to open the web page. Lets say I want to launch a browser window that goes on www.google.com

    I read on external OLE activation, that sounds like I'm going in the right direction?

    If you need anything else, it just to look for the Forums there are 1000s of solutions here, if you do find you need just post a new question.

  • creating a table/average question

    I'm new to labview and I have problems to understand how to create a table.

    I use an Arduino Uno as my DAQ and when I take an anolog measure I've seen a lot of fuctuation to my measure. I know with arduino, you can perform with an average simple by using the function "Get a finished sample of Analog", but I know that I not be using an Arduino in the long term and trying to figure out the right way to do it.

    When I have on average with the Arduino IDE I usually code that looks like this:

    float analogsum = 0;

    for (int i = 0; i)< 10;="">

    analogSum += analogRead (analogPin); where analogRead converts the analog value to a value\ digital 10-bit

    }

    average = analogSum/10;

    I am trying to create this same feature in LabView. The only way I can imagine the analog value of each iteration, in summary would be to store each value in a table, then add them together and divide by the number of iterations in my loop for.

    How would I do this in Labview?
