Create a virtual copy for Proofing?
I have changed some setting because whenever I make any change to a photo I have now the following message attached.
1. is this a virtual copy actually do a file separated into my library?
2 Why is it now invites me with this option after each change?
3. If I want to choose to make a virtual copy, what is the difference between choosing to make the current photo proof against the copy of the evidence create? Is the copy of the virtual copy evidence?
Creating a virtual copy for proofing allows you to apply the profile appropriate to this proof copy paper so that you get a fair representation of how the image will print. It is not another copy of the image, but rather a different set of parameters of the metadata that link to the same image. This allows you to adjust the virtual copy as necessary to ensure that you get the impression that you want.
It is possible that you are seeing this message because you can reset your preferences recently. You will see that there is a "don't show again" checkbox you can select, and this will prevent this message to be revised in the future. You can always create a virtual copy for proofing, such that there is an option under the histogram when Proofing is enabled.

I've got LR 5.7 and I installed (Windows 7/64) profile of color ICC Blurb but I cannot use it to create a copy for proofing. How can I do?
Blurb profile is CMYK, and so does not test in Lightroom. Having said that, really, you don't want to use their profile for nothing because they use a lot of different printers and that a profile will probably not represent the printer that is actually used, so it is useless and could lead you to the wrong path. Expect variability in reproduction of the color of their share even if you send the same task twice. Nothing you can do to control that unfortunately. Wobertc advice is spot on. Don't worry if you ship it directly from LR. Use sRGB if you export images to use in another page layout program. Forget proofing for this service.

Cannot use keyboard shortcut "create a virtual copy.
The keyboard shortcut for the command "Create a virtual copy" in Lightroom 2.x is CTRL + "." This shortcut is useless for users with a keyboard configured as "Canadian French", as the only way to type an apostrophe (') is to use the combination SHIFT +'. I tried all possible combinations, including CTRL + SHIFT +', and it just doesn't work.
Is it possible to remap these shortcuts?
There' has a file called TranslatedStrings.txt somewhere in your Lightroom program files. You can redefine keyboard shortcuts here.
For example, the files (
\Resources\of\TranslatedStrings.txt) German has the following entry: "$$$/AgLibrary/Menu/Shared/CreateVirtualCopies/Key=Cmd+t"
While the french (
\Resources\en\TranslatedStrings.txt) has this: "$$$/AgLibrary/Menu/Shared/CreateVirtualCopies/Key=Cmd+'"
If you use English as the language of Lightroom, all you have to do is create a similar file in the "en" folder, enter the string above and define some shortcut works for you.

How to create a virtual copy without copying the settings?
Hello world
Sometimes I will edit a photo and later decide I want to create a virtual copy and take a different approach. The problem I'm having is that when I do, the virtual copy inherits all the adjustments that I brought to the previous copy and I can't compare my new adjustments against the original photo, not adjusted.
I know I can remove the adjustments on the virtual copy by pressing "Reset" in the develop module, but when I then make some adjustments and do a side-by-side comparison, it compares the adjusted version that the virtual copy has been done since.
I hope this makes sense. Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you!
Did a little more research and it looks like the clichés probably better serve my needs that VC in this case.

Creating a virtual machine for Linux guest in another HARD drive
Hi all
I have Vmware Workstation 8.0 on windows 7 x 64. This window is installed in the primary SSD (Sata port 0), also its mbr. I also have a Linux Ubuntu Natty x 64 in my HDD (Sata port 1) with Grub installed on the HARD drive. So when I go to start my SDD just windows when I want linux, simply go to the HARD drive.
I tried to create a virtual machine to access the linux (using the physical disk, persistent writing) as a guest during the use of windows as a host, but so far had no success. Just to easy access to linux.
I get the message of follow-up:
The configuration for this virtual machine as follows:
Intel Virtualization is enabled in my BIOS.
My specs are:
Processor Processor Intel® Core™ i7 2630QM Chipset Intel® HM65 Express Chipset 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460M 1.5 GB GDDR5 VRAM
OCZ Vertex 3 128 GB SDD
Western Digital 640 GB HARD drive
Could someone help me?
try to use "fullDevice" instead of "partitionedDevice" when you add the physical disk.
It may also be necessary to put the disk status 'offline '.
This worked in WS before 7?
You can reach the vmware.log?

can not clone or create a virtual machine for vsandatastore
Hi all
I try to clone a virtual machine to vsandatastore. But I get the follow error:
-> policy requires 2 replicas with discs 1 each with 0 bytes free each. Only found 0 these records.
-> failed to create the object:
The hardware configuration is:
I/o Controller: LSI SAS9271-8i
HARD DRIVE: ST91000640SS
SSD:Intel SSSDSC2BA400G3
10GE: Intel 82599
When I create a virtual machine or create a file vsandatestore on the web client. I also see the same error.
Could someone give me some suggestions? I do not know how to solve this problem.
Thank you!
> Policy requires 2 replicas with discs 1 each with 0 bytes free each. Only found 0 these records
This means that all three nodes in the cluster is not participating in the storage. Check if all 3 nodes have at least 1 diskgroup and contributing to the storage
default vsan strategy is 1 failure to tolerate what creates two replicas. so that you can either ensure that all 3 nodes have at least 1 diskgroup or create a vm storage policy replacing the default values
Thank you

Is it possible to create a virtual copy in Lightroom Mobile?
I saw a threat about this return of 11 months but she never answered the question. I can't find a way to do that in Lr Mobile. I know I can do the VC in Lightroom and synchronize on Lr Mobile but it would be nice to have the opportunity to make a VG in Lr Mobile. Thank you for your help.
At present, it is only possible to do it from the version of office and not from the device. But he asked as a future feature. Add your voice to this link:

Keeping the steps of dev for virtual copy
Hello
I made a lot of progress on some images, and I forgot to create virtual copies before they develop. I now have to have back the original version, imported and want to keep the current version developed as a virtual copy. I tried the following: copy all the parameters of development, to go back in history, to create a virtual copy and apply settings at the virtual copy. Basically, it works one I return the version original one the current version, developed as a virtual copy.
However, the virtual copy doesn't show the steps of history to get there. Is there a way to have the virtual copy shows the steps exactly as it would if I did all the developents in him in the first place?
Thank you

Collection of Nik and view the modified copy of the image. Virtual copy - where is it?
Once I have reduce noise in an image using Nik Colllection set 2 and save, I'm back in Lightroom. However, I do not see a copy of the image, that I worked on-I see yet only one image and it's the original image before exporting to Nik set 2.
In addition, I note that I do not see virtual copies I was doing once I had created one in the film strip. However, when I save a virtual copy, I get the message saying 'Virtual copy 2' created. If I repeat the process of creating another virtual copy, I get the message saying "Virtual copy 3" created.
I have two questions.
1. How can I see the edited picture in the film strip that I applied 2 set to?
2. How can I see the virtual images in the film?
I have changed a setting somewhere... Can someone please offer advice?
Start at the beginning:
When you call Nik programs within LR, you create a TIFF file with or without LR adjustments, then the Nik tool is created. When registering save you to this file. This file is part of your LR database.
By creating a VC, you create a VC in the current folder, which is seen from the Interior of LR, but not outside. But it's the LR database bart.
What I suspect is that you work from within a collection and especially the last imports collection. I would suggest pointing to an image with the right button of the mouse and using the "go to folder LR" (from memory!). There you should find all your files. (Nik) TIFF files should also be available to the OS (Finder or Explorer).
The other possibility is that you have applied a filter to display only certain images, and files of VC and Nik files get hidden by the filter.

How to add the virtual copy to an existing collection
Hello
I use LR 5.7.x in Win7 environment.
I have an existing collection within a collection set. I would like to add a virtual copy of an image to this collection. Is there a way to do this in one step?
If I select the image and press B, he puts a - not a virtual copy - copy into the target. The only way I see to do this is to first make the virtual copy, copy it to the target collection and finally remove the copy virtual from the original location.
Best regards
Scott
Hi scott_o,
To add a virtual copy to a collection, you must create a virtual copy. When it is created, set the collection (to which you want to import pictures or virtual copies to) as target collection.
Once this is done, you must select the image or the virtual copy, then press B to add to the target collection.
Note: Add collection does not all copies of the image file.
In addition, if you remove the virtual copy in the catalog, it will be removed from the collection as well.
Let me know if it helps.

Hi all
I copied a file from one place vmdk and try to make a new virtual machine with this vmdk file. But when I turn on after the creation of vm error is coming. Error in the text and the image below
Power on the virtual machine: cannot open scsi0:0 disc: disc not supported or not valid type 7. Ensure that the disk has been imported.
See the error of the stack for more details on the cause of this problem.
Time: 31/03/2015-14:40:05
Target: DBServer
vCenter Server: vcsa
Error stack
An error was received from the ESX host turning on DBServer VM.
Unable to start the virtual machine.
Power DevicePowerOn module has failed.
Unable to create the virtual SCSI device for scsi0:0, ' / vmfs/volumes/543d140b-feb33d52-7640-90b11c9796c3/vmdk/kapuatdb.vmdk'
Could not open scsi0:0 disc: disc not supported or not valid type 7. Ensure that the disk has been imported.
This error message generally if the hard files have been copied hosted as VMware Workstation product, which uses a format of sparse file that is not supported on an ESXi host. Instead of the hard copy, you can use VMware Converter, or - if you prefer - you can convert the hard using vmware-vdiskmanager (before transfer) or vmkfstools (after downloading). I deal to use vmkfstools you will need to load the mutliextent module (see for example "Clone or migration operations involving virtual discs non-VMFS on ESXi fail with an error" vSphere 5.1 Release Notes)

Pavilion dv6t-7000 failed to create a virtual hard drive for a dual boot Windows 7 / windows 8
Hi, I just bought this system, a Hp Pavilion dv6t-7000, Enterntainment CTO notebook PC. I want to take the amount of space between the C drive and create a virtual hard disk.
Disk 0 is severed as follows:
System:
199 MB NTFS; Primary partition, Active system
C: 678.60 GB NTFS; Boot, page file, crash dump, primary Partition
D recovery: 21,53 Go NTFS; Healthy primary partition
HP_tools 108 MB Fat 32; Healthy primary partition
I would take 50 GB on C: and create a virtual hard disk to install windows 8 to have a dual boot system. Can someone point me to a credible link that describes how do this or share the solution? I tried a process described in TechRepublic where you create a virtual hard disk, and then start on Windows 8, shift f10 in an admin window and try to use diskpart select vdisk file that does not exist, that is to say, I'm not.
Is there anything else I need to do? I can do this via disk management?
Thanks much for any info.
I found this process is here.
It seems similar to the process of the technology of the Republic, but it has a few key differences. Give the TechNet process a try it may work because of the extra steps, he has.

How to create a Virtual Com Port in Windows 7 for Palm HotSync
I've just updated wo Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Because Palm does not support USB synchronization under a 64-bit system, it tells me that I need to create a virtual com port for my bluetooth device to synchronize. I can't understand how to create this port under Windows 7.
Hi Sonmox,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
In the Sub in view of the link you need to download the Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager. This software allows you to synchronize your device Palm with your computer, for your info is backed up and easily editable on your computer.
Visit the following is given link of Palm and configure your Bluetooth device.
http://KB.Palm.com/wps/portal/KB/common/article/49229_en.html
When you set up your Palm device to synchronize using Bluetooth technology, you create a 'Bluetooth partnership' between your devices your computer (also known as "pair" or "trusted device"). This allows you to synchronize your device wireless and your computer have to authenticate each other, every time that you synchronize.
Follow the steps in the document to sync your Bluetooth device.
