  We know the fix for the bug "documents must be registered before they can be merged" when you try to create a Photomerge Panorama in PSE 14?

  I think I have found workarounds to the question "documents must be registered before they can be merged" (no thank you lack of Adobe customer support):

  Solution #1

  My workflow template is to take pictures with my SLR and save on the memory in the form of RAW files, download the images on my PC, then open the RAW files in Adobe Camera Raw and then save the images to jpeg using PSE. I wasn't able to create Photomerge Panorama with jpeg images I've saved, but I was able to create Photomerge Panorama with the images I have saved IF I save as TIFF 8-bit files in EPS. A condition for this workaround was that I had to save the pictures at their original resolution and not at a reduced resolution.

  Solution #2

  If I have a right-click on an image and selected open with 14 and observed PES Editor (RGB/8) * to the right of the file changes its name, which means PSE think he has not saved to the file. The solution is to go to file-> Save-> Save (replace existing file-Yes)-> OK. You can then use this file and others you perform the same steps to create a Photomerge Panorama.

  The way to save JPEG files in PSE is to go to file-> save for Web-> Save-> Save. The workaround is to select the file-> save for the Web and then check the box include the color profile , then click on save and then save again. Then I'm able to merge JPEG files using Photomerge Panorama and I don't get the error message "Documents must be registered before they can be merged". I looked back 11 of PSE that is still on my PC and found that the Embed checkbox color profile did NOT have to be checked to get Photomerge to work for jpeg files. So it appears with PSE 14 Adobe changed the Photomerge Panorama script to require the image file the color profile embedded in the image. If the color profile is not embedded, PSE think the image file has unsaved changes. BTW, this bug, or "feature" has not changed with PSE 14.1.

  For iOS apps, you can use the overlay of Panorama. As Bob L., the overlay has been deprecated, but it works now.

  You can also create a panorama HTML overlay. There is an example of a gyroscopic panorama in the boards of DPS (examples HTML) application that rotates while you move the camera.

My question is what size should I make the canvas if the photos are 2848 x 2136? They will be stuck with an older camera I'm pulling in 6.3 megapixels. Thanks for the help.

  First create a new empty file - use the file... New... PhotoMerge Panorama, then choose the photos that you want to use, and then select "blend the images.  PSE will automatically create the photo panoramic full size for you and you won't have to worry about the size of the canvas.

  Update: a little later: all of a sudden it seems to work under Enhange-> Photomerge and then Panorama is not dimmed more.

  Panorama is not available in quick and guided editing modes. It would therefore be grayed out in these modes

  You have extended to use the 3D features, and the 360 Panorama is in 3D. So, if you have not extended, you're kind of bad luck.

  If you just want to try it, you can disable (help > deactivate) then restart Photoshop, and say that it is running as a trial. (Tests we always wish for a reason any.) I think you can upgrade regular Photoshop Extended for the price difference. Just call Adobe to ask.

  If you have not extended, then check "360 degrees to create panoramas" in help.

  LR CC and is the new version of creative cloud of Lightroom which includes, among other new features, creating HDR and panorama in Lightroom, brushes for the gradual filter and filter radial, face recognition. It would be installed and more LR 5 because it's a new update that includes new features. It's your choice to uninstall 5 Lightroom or not. When you first run LR CC it prompts you to allow it to update your catalog. This creates a new copy of your catalog in a database format that is required for the new version. 5 Lightroom will be left intact and usable if you want to do. Otherwise, you can feel confident in removing.

• Miniature issue of PSE Organizer 9

  I took a lot of photos at a wedding neices using a Canon EOS 350 d. I use Photoshop Elements 9 in my software installation and the organizer of a large number of thumbnails go up like a bevelled plate grey featuring a Marguerite and an exclamation point in a blue triangle. I have spent ages searching the site & manual Adobe and cannot find a reason or explanation of the thumbnail. At first, I thought it could be related to size but lots of pictures which are the largest display correct thumbnails. I tried to update the thumbnails using the Edit menu, but that does not do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA Glenys

  Search the Web for the description of this icon turned up a few messages in this forum.  Apparently, the original image is too big for a thumbnail to be generated.  Without more explanation if it is the size of the image or the size of the file that is too large - a message has a link to an article in the Adobe Knowledge Base, but this link is now broken.

  Thumbnails of the Organizer:

  • If an image was shot in one program other than Photoshop Elements 9, update the thumbnail print or use the image in a creation to ensure that images appear correctly rotated. To update the thumbnail, select the images and choose the thumbnail of to update or update of fusion for selected items in the Edit menu.
  • Some TIFF files and files that use rare color profiles may appear black or generic thumbnail in the Organizer. To resolve this problem, select the file, then choose export file as a new file (s). This saves the file with the game in support of the labels file required by the Organizer to display thumbnails.
  • Very large files appear with generic labels. For example, panoramas created with Photomerge Panorama return several layers, which, upon registration, creates very large files. To make visible photos in the Organizer, think to save it panorama flattened JPEG image files
  • Files that are not supported in the Organizer look like broken miniature icons. You can import these files by recording an album containing a file in a format not supported by using the Photoshop elements editor or import of files not supported by the Organizer, using Premiere Elements.
