Create the control reference

Using the Terminal type setting is the best way to get the type of a control. If you try to do something like ' get the value of the control, and then ask the type of this ", you have problems with the LV classes and types of refnum where the type of the value can be a child class of the type of the control.

This question is answered.

  • Record to create the content reference

I recorded a component using the wizard of registration of the application designer. But the page doesnot appear in the screen online. So I tried to create the reference to the content of the "PeopleTools-> Portal-> Structure and content' navigation menu. It indicates that the component is already available. If it is already available, why would he post in online. Is there any cache to be refreshed?

Sometimes, I noticed the page appearing online after a couple days of registration. How this register and its contents reference books. Any document on that would be helpful.

    1. check if you have access to the component through permissions list.
    2. the menu is cached by the web/application server and your browser. There are a few things you can do to force a refresh - a. Remove caches of web/app servers and b. CTRL-F5 to refresh the browser or c. change the cache of web server profile settings to not put caching objects portals (recommended for dev environments where the portal changes are common).

This is because ' / oradata/ntstrman/temp01.dbf' is a temporary file not a data file, remove the reference to it and try again. When your database is open, you can add the temporary file in your temp tablespace with ALTER TABLESPACE TEMP ADD TEMPFILE ' / oradata/ntstrman/temp01.dbf'...

Appear you are not using the rman backup catalog and controlfile to help register rman backup.

    1. Yes, you can do this

2 Controlfile script is standard... link doc oracle: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_5003.htm

    3. prepare with the location of the data files and of redologs online then create it.

Note - If you have placed the name of the different database, then, it will check with datafile and it give error (if you need correct the name of the database)

As you have not indicated whether or not the last stop of database is compatible (we assume that there are his uniform and mandatory ORL and archives)

  • How can I specify location of the control file when the manual creation of DB?

    DB version: 11.2.0.4

    OS: Oracle Linux 6.6

The CREATE DATABASE command creates the control file.

CREATE DATABASE command is executed once you start the instance in NOMOUNT State as shown below.

SQL > create database 'BRCPRD '.

When you create the database manually, we can define the control_files parameter in the init.ora as below and control file will be created at this location. Right?

    control_files = ("" / u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control01.ctl","/u01/oradata/BRCPRD/BRCPRD_control02.ctl "")

When I was generating the DB using DBCA GUI creation scripts, it asks to enter the location of the Online redo logs and control files.

I entered my desired location. But, I couldn't find CONTROL_FILES parameter in the init.ora file generated the DBCA. This is why I got confused. I think that DBCA is internally somehow. So thought I'd post it here.

    Hi John, OP

Just checked the init.ora file created by DBCA. Although the parameter CONTROL_FILES is undefined, db_create_file_dest = '+ DATA_DG1' was created. OMF default location is defined by the db_create_file_dest parameter.

    So, I could safely use this script for the manual creation of DB, and during the CREATE DATABASE command execution, oracle will place CONTROL_FILES + DATA_DG1 using the format;

    +DiskGroup/dbname/filetype/filetypetag.file.incarnation

    Hi, Frank.

Very nice work Helios (as usual).

Thank you, I share just what I know thatsall

Thank you, I learned something new today.

The same for all users of the forum

Normally, I clone cold backups so I don't need to manually create the controlfile.

    I see that your solution is contained in the following note;
"Cloning of Oracle Application 11i with rapid Clone /R12 - database (9i/10 g / 11 g) using on Open Database [ID 760772.1] hot backup.

You are correct, we mainly use this method for hot backup-Section advance clonning

But I'm still curious to know if Nicolas is to create a clone of a hot backup or a backup to cold, and why he uses the 'ARCHIVELOG' option on his clone.

It depends, for me I prefer to choose option NOARCHIVELOG and NORESETLOG

  • Cannot create a control or the indicator for a refnum of the display of images in LabView

I need to move a refnum to a control to display the Image, but find that I can not create a control or an indicator for such refnum.  I can create the refnum without problem, and when I right click on the refnum I gives me the options to create a command or the indicator; However, when I select one of these options no command or the indicator is created.

I am running XP.  I installed Vision 8.6 at a given time, but had to uninstall because it damaged this control.  I don't know if it affects this type of control to a lower level.

You can probably do it the hard way by using workaround.  Convert your reference to a Variant or flatten it into a string or cataloged full - some LV allows.  In the Subvi, convert it back into a reference.

  • create the reference with the legend Info

    Hello

I have on my side of a large number of controls, 152.

I have an array of items with a value of 152.

I want to load the values in the controls on the right. All controls have a legend with the same value as the index of the element.

Is it possible to load the values in a loop?

The element, get the reference and load the data via a property node?

So is my question possible to create a reference to a control by giving the caption of the control as input?

Suggestions are welcome, I would like to avoid to connect values 152 152 controls.

    Thank you Kim

    Kim,

The loop is the right idea.

You cannot create a reference to the legend.  You can get an array of references to all the controls in the Panel.  Then you can search the legend that corresponds to the one you want.  When you find a match, use this reference to write to a property value node.

Legends are easily changed.  It is probably best to use the label, which cannot be changed programmatically when the VI is on, for research and the match.  You can display the caption to the user and hide tags if it's better for the user interface.

  • Ring controls to create the visible circle

I try to use the ring on the front panel control to specify a circle with a radius of particuly pixel, and I'd like to be able to drag the circle around different x / Y positions.  I was able to do, but the problem is, I don't see where the annular space is located on my image (the controls of the annular space do not give the corresponding circle anywhere) - there is no visual, just output text feedback in control boxes.  Otherwise, I was able to create a circle on top of my image which acts as a region of interest using the KING property on the property node.  The problem here is that I can not specify the RADIUS in pixels of the circle I draw my image above.

So basically I want to display a circle on top of my picture showing the return on investment and I want to be able to control the radius around an area of controls.

    Jessica

    Hello, Jessica,.

You can use the ring to convert IMAQ VI KING and the Overlay IMAQ KING VI to do this. The IMAQ convert Annulus VI takes a command input through which you can specify the RADIUS, X, Y and angles of the annulus. After that, the Overlay IMAQ KING VI will let you see the annular space displayed in the control to display the images. I hope this helps.

  • Bug found during the use of references to the control in subVis on Compact RIO?

    Hallo,

I have a simple task. I want to read higher VI into a Subvi the real value of a control to a level. I want to solve this problem by using a reference to the control.

I have attached a simplified program that shows this.

But the problem is now. When I run the main VI on a cRIO-device, the indicator "DataByReference" is not updated with the actual value. Only when I opened during execution of the "RefMain.vi" too, then everything works fine.

More strange thing is, when I run the VI of hand on the host PC, everything works well, also without having to open the "RefMain.vi" when executing.

Someone at - it an explanation for this behavior?

    Thanks in advance!

    Bernd

This isn't a bug.  See this explanation.

  • Redesign of the object of control reference

I think that this question is probably answered elsewhere, but after days of research, I couldn't find an answer. Sorry if I'm missing the answer in a conspicuous place.

I am a reference to a cluster control and said that the elements of the cluster are all children of the parent a. using the [] controls property class, I get a table of the elements, and the value property of each of these elements gives a variant which can be converted into class A. At that point, all of the oriented object substitution and data private thing works as expected.

    So far so good.

But a single method, that I call on these objects change the private data, and I need to update the control with the updated object. There is, I have a runtime error because the control is not A, but some children in class.

I think it's to preserve runtime class comes into play, but since I only get a reference to work, what should I do? It's particularly frustrating because the debug probes show that LabVIEW knows the child class on the wire, but I do not see how to tell LabVIEW to cast down to the class that she knows that she needs.

For example, is it possible to use the ClassName property of the control to cast the object of class A in the kid waiting for the control?
