Create the snapshot on VCenter VM during the process of upgrading to VCenter 5.1?

People,

My VCenter server is a virtual machine running on the host ESXi number 01 (I've nailed specifically using the DRS rule), so it is desirable to take snapshots for VCenter Server VM during the upgrade process?

What happened when the upgrade process has failed? can I safely restored the snapshot?

When the snapshot is created before the upgrade, it means that the snapshot will be the safe state of the VM, vCenter and SQL in your case. But if you can make a backup of database to an external location.

  • Question: when creating the Process Definition

    I am trying to create a new definition of the process for my purpose of resource supply.
    So I created a process for this shape.

    However, when I try to fill in the name of the table under the section allocation of process definition, look to the high doesnot get all the table names and if I try to manually enter the name of my table, I get the error,
    "The SDK field does not match existing data.

    Kindly help.

    Make sure you just that:

    -You have created a form of process with name like UD_TEST. This is the form of course and not as object
    -You also enabled this version for the process shape.

  • Vista DEP ends the process of upgrade of Sony Picture Motion Browser (PMB)

    I have a problem with Windows Vista Home Premium.  I am trying to upgrade my version of Sony Picture Motion Browser (PMB) to version 5.2 running the updated DownloadManager_1005c.exe utility, which was downloaded from the Sony website.  When I run this program, Windows Vista puts an end to the process by closing IE.  I first added to the DEP exception list download manager, it did not work.  Then I ran "bcdedit.exe/set {current} nx AlwaysOff" from the prompt order and received confirmation "Operation completed successfully".  I rebooted the computer and the Sony service program is represented.  Yet once Vista has completed the process.

    How can I solve this problem and update my software of Sony?

    I try to download the upgrade on your desktop directly from the Sony site (or wherever you want come in) and work around by using the Download Manager entirely.  Once saved to your desktop, right-click on the download and click on run as administrator and see if it successfullly upgrades your Sony software.  I suspect the Download Manager is a tool that is useful but not required to download or upgrade.

    Because you have executed this command, DEP must disable so it should not be the cause of this problem (if it is in the first place).  Remember when all this is done to reactivate.

    If the above does not work, I recommend you contact Sony Technical Support at:http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=CONTACT and see if they can provide assistance with this problem on their software - download manager, upgrade, or both.

  • can't update during the process of upgrading Windows Vista to Windows 7.

    I upgraded my pc to vista ultimate now I want to switch to win7 ultimate, but I have problems with

    problem of updates. the system manages updates and will start the installtion and stop more later saying the system failed because of

  • How to create the sample Order Manager of Transformation (OTM) cartridge

    Hi all

    I tried quite pointless to create a cartridge OTM sample.

    I created a sample orchestration cartridge, and it has 2 functions: supply and FulfillBilling with a dependence on Provisioning for FulfillBilling inside a model completion Service.Voice.

    I created an example of template with the design template project, and it has created some entities by default like stocks and other stuff.

    First, I created a fixed domain in the conceptual model. Then added a product "Voice_PS". I have create a CFS called "Voice_CFS" under "Voice_PS" with a primary relationship. I added the fulfillment of coceptual model 'Voice_FP' product 'Voice_PS '.

    After that, I created MappingRule which I kept as a default because I haven't created any parameter of Voice_PS.

    Then I create the parameter bindings of controls and that I kept also by default because I didn't take all the parameters command line group specifications.

    Then I called design model to create a Service order. This gave me the sequence of Transformation and in the first step, I added simple context Type for parameter OLI ProductSpec = "Service.Voice."

    I use the same specification of element of order for the transformation of source and target texts. To do this, I checked the box «Model order» distributed support

    I created the processing Manager and mapped the area and the sequence of Transformation.

    After that, I marked the "Transformation Manager invoke" the Orchestration process verified and gave to the service provider that calculate the Service order.

    I pulled an order after you have configured all of this and I'm getting line continuation in the DEBUG log.

    After almost a month to research on the OTM configuration, I was able to successfully create a cartridge with OTM.

    The thing is that oracle has tried several things to ensure that you do not work on OTM without taking training from Oracle University. However working for an Indian Council COMPUTER company, cost of training is something that approve all IT managers. So now I would like to register 4 things I was missing and which are very important for the configuration of the OTM: -.

    1. one thing that has not always been productSpecMapping.xml with the conceptual entities. This was achieved after dependence conceptual cartridge cartridge model fulfilment and realisation configuration and then the construction of the entire workspace. Reason for satisfaction was derived from this mapping.

    2. Although the DS is built as entities in the workspace are available for configuration, however, when you select the realization within the OSM entities the conceptual entities are not visible. Only if you bring a dependence of the cartridge to cartridge of the conceptual model to the OSM cartridge where you configure realization so only the conceptual entities begin to appear.

    So in my cartridge missed me 2 achievements. One was the realization of the conceptual model entity model fulfillment OSM entity fulmillment. Second has been the achievement of entity area conceptual funcational to the OSM order entity.

    3. the next thing that I configured and which was essential was 'container of entities in the common model. This tab appears on all files in all projects cartridge. Basically this allows you to select the project template that contribute to this project. As soon as I have it configured OSM began to detect OrderItemParameterSpecificationType entities.

    4. the wierdest configuration that I found was this one. After trying the previous point, I found that even if the entities are now be created, but again I was getting OrderItemSpecificationType entity not found. So I cheked in the cartridgeBuild folder to check what is created in the backend before deployment. I found that for some reason any was not Voice_PS but Voice_PSSpec. So I started concatinating "Spec" to all entities of the product in the order entering the property of recognition element OrderItemSpecification order. Please note that my order of recognition property point was not "Voice_PSSpec" but rather the value "qualifiedName" derived from the productSpecMapping.xml to the node with the value of the name attribute as "Voice_PS".     And now my cartridge started grateful OTM. However I did a wrong configuration in order for transformed model controls inside functions so I quickly corrected and pulled another order. This time I could see the elements of order and turned the control elements. Phew! Finally his work.

  • Host Agent pre-upgrade: run the utility to upgrade on another computer?

    I want to upgrade vCenter Server 4.1 to Version 5 soon. vCenter is now installed on a W2K3 - x 64 server and I want to replace that server with a new material and W2K8R2.

    So I read the Upgrade Guide and KB1031307. I want to use the same PB and update.

    There is a point that I do not understand: the vCenter Agent pre-upgrade Checker host checks to questions about the agent on the ESX host computers software. It verifies if the agent software can be updated etc.

    KB 12031307 it is written that when upgrading on the same machine, I have to run the pre-upgrade utility.

    Under the point upgrade to vCenter Server on a different Machine and upgrade the existing database , nothing is said about running the utility to pre-staged at level or not!

    What I need to run in this scenario, or is it not necessary? In my view, the host ESX Server software is updated the same way, without worrying if I do an upgrade on the same server or on another machine... so I guess I need to run on the old server before you perform the upgrade on the new machine?

    Yes, we run on the existing VC server. If we try on a new computer, pre-upgrade installation fails because there is no certificate for the available existing Vcenter server file.

    Before the upgrade, we have to solve the problems if problems are identified.

    Yes, we have to do the installation of VC on the new machine pointing to the existing DB server. Installer will make the necessary changes to DB.

    Its good to run DB pre-staged at level too, to confirm there is no problem next DB which will stop the upgrade. DB pre-staged at level details is available here.

    Now, when the user is on the Oracle himself server, the listener didn't need to run to establish a connection to the database. Therefore, it is possible to stop the Listener and not always connect using sqlplus and a valid username and password.

    In the case above, the question is: if the listener does not work, what/who created the process server that communicates with the instance of the database on behalf of the user? In other words, in the normal case, the listener could get the request and create the server process. When the listener does not work what part of the Oracle Gets the requests and creates the server process?

    Clarification on how this case is handled are very much appreciated, thank you,

    I guess that you have asked the same thing in a different form in another thread. In the case, when the process of the user and the server is to be on the same side, the communication done by using the Protocol bequeth and the user, since it is not not going to use a (@) sign, he would use a default service for connected sys$ users .

    I was asked to create a document that describes the patches apply the entire process (gettinng approval of managers/users) for our RDBMS Oracle (10 g 2) final to actually apply the correction

    In a production environment, when a DBA wants to apply a hotfix released by Oracle as PSU, CPU what the process follow the guy. What is the approval process we need to follow?

    Approval process that we follow is:

    1 perform a upgrade of test with a replica of the production environment, test the application and make sure nothing don't breeze - this is the longest stage depending on the complexity of the application
    2. Note the time taken by the process of upgrade, and post-upgrade above and discuss with the approval authority of necessary downtime
    3. Once approved, inform end users (if possible) on the scheduled service break and the estimated downtime and still remember once a few hours before the actual upgrade process

    If there is one bug fix to apply what needs a time out, some of the above steps are ignored - if this bug fix is essential from the point of view of functional and commercial.

    We are in the process of upgrading R12.1.3 with 11.2.0.4, R12.2.5 database with 12.1.0.2 Applications database. I'm a little confused about the process to upgrade the database as part of the upgrade to 12.2.

    In accordance with the note "guidelines preparation of database for an E-Business Suite Release 12.2 Upgrade (Doc ID 1349240.1)", I'm reviewing step 2

    Upgrading to the last group of patches (conditional) database
    Customers currently on 11.2.0.3 or 12.1.0.1 must now move to the 11.2.0.4 or 12.1.0.2 within the upgrade 12.2 following the documented process in the appropriate Interoperability Notes (see the References section below).     As I'm not going to bring up the applications before upgrade R12.2, that I have to perform interoperability for 12.1.3 or can I perform the steps of interoperability for 12.1,0.2 with 12.2?

    You must apply the patches immediately after installing 12.2.0 software.
