The process that you follow to apply the patches.
I know that you guys wouldn't non-technical questions.I was asked to create a document that describes the patches apply the entire process (gettinng approval of managers/users) for our RDBMS Oracle (10 g 2) final to actually apply the correction
In a production environment, when a DBA wants to apply a hotfix released by Oracle as PSU, CPU what the process follow the guy. What is the approval process we need to follow?
Approval process that we follow is:
1 perform a upgrade of test with a replica of the production environment, test the application and make sure nothing don't breeze - this is the longest stage depending on the complexity of the application
2. Note the time taken by the process of upgrade, and post-upgrade above and discuss with the approval authority of necessary downtime
3. Once approved, inform end users (if possible) on the scheduled service break and the estimated downtime and still remember once a few hours before the actual upgrade process
If there is one bug fix to apply what needs a time out, some of the above steps are ignored - if this bug fix is essential from the point of view of functional and commercial.

"See that you follow" section gone
Accidentally, I got rid of the section 'Connect' where you can click on the link that says 'See who you follow' and now I can't get it back. I don't want to look for artists that I listen to all the time and I want to know if I can get it back.
Without this music service Apple is useless for me, and if I can't get it back I cancel my subscription and dating back to Spotify.

While on Firefox, I get a warning that I need to apply a patch of security of full screen
The full page WARNING seems authentic, Firefox logo, etc. I am advised to click on a link for the patch. However, the address for the sender is looking for suspects. I copied it and if a search engine has checked and it is an entity of the Government of the County. Unfortunately, I lost the copy so cannot send it. This seems very odd. I have the latest version of Firefox, and I suspect that someone is trying to me to click on a link to hack my computer. I just wanted you to know. I had this "security alert" at least half a dozen times during the month. Can this be true?
IF you mean a .exe Firefoxpatch what is called then it is known and false. This .exe if installed can put Cryptolocker on your Windows that locks the files.
Mozilla does not update Firefox on randomly selected sites.
Updates to Firefox are made internally in Firefox (with a file .mar) or by download on www.mozilla.org or www.mozilla.org/firefox/all

Apply the patches to ACS 5.1
Hi all
I hope someone can help with this problem.
I have an ACS 5.1 with the next load of S/W

ADE-OS System Architecture: i386Cisco ACS VERSION INFORMATION

Helloz,
Form where you downloaded the patch. I suggest you download from cisco.comif you download before.
http://Tools.Cisco.com/Squish/1D47B
No, you can directly apply the patch 5.
Correct the command that you run to apply the patch.
I wish allows you to check a few things1 are you using TFTP? If so, then switch to FTP and try again.
2. prior to apply the hotfix, make sure that you can see the file in the repository.Show repository
If you can see patch 5 under the repository then you're good to go.

ORA-00481 and Patch 3659289 - how to check if the patch has been applied? --
Dear all,
Currently my client uses the oracle 10.2.0.4.0 database (RAC). However sometimes during treatment (the application attempts to write/change data), they are several ORA-00481 errors and then the database crashed. But I'd say it's an automatic restart sort of as the newspaper has said.
Trying to get on a few articles on this subject and found one saying this is due to internal bugs, and the problem solved with patch 3659289 .
So far, I couldn't find much information about this hotfix (3659289) and I need some help here.
1. I wonder if it is the case of my customer database?
2. how to check if this specific hotfix (3659289) has been applied?
3. be appreciate if you have access to this patch and post the details here.
Advise, Suggestion or jokes will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Thank you and best regards,
CT

How to apply RUP6 (patch 6728000) during the installation of the single node?
Dear
On single node configuration, we have installed Oracle Apps R12.0.4. Now I need to apply RUP6 (patch 6728000). In what order should I apply the patch? According to my knowledge "u*.drv" type patches must be applied to both AS & DB level. I thought to do like this covered, Source Apps*.env, AS stop, mode adadmin (interview), adpatch, startAS. But DB must be up & running in this process. After that, I have to apply this hotfix on DB also stop DB &?
Need help!
ConcerningNaya,
I thought to do like this covered, Source Apps*.env, AS stop, mode adadmin (interview), adpatch, startAS. But DB must be up & running in this process.
Fix.
After that, I stop DB & also the application of this fix on DB?
No, because you have already applied the patch as a user applmgr and already patched the application layer as well as the database layer. Thus, simply disable maintenance mode, start the services application, and access the application.
Make sure that you follow all the steps in the Readme of the patch and (Note: 743368.1 - Oracle E-Business Suite Release Update Pack Readme, release 12.0.6).)

How to apply the patch to power supply in an environment of dataguard
I need to apply a patch of power supply in an environment of dataguard. I would like to know the sequence of steps I must follow.
Can someone please help me on this? DB version is 11.2.0.4 and I need to apply 11.2.0.4.3 PSU.
In order to apply the fix, you must first carefully read the "Readme" of the patch for instructions.
To give an overview of the sequence of steps to follow to apply a patch in environment dataguard, here it is:
1 reporter on the primary to the standby log shipping.
2 cancel the MRP on the standby database.
3. apply the patch of power supply on the standby server. -See the Readme for instructions.
4. ensure that the standby db is mounted and the earpiece is in place on the standby server.
5. do not run any script correction on the standby database.
6. apply the patch of power supply on the principal server.
7. make sure that your primary database and the listener on the primary server is running.
8 turn on the primary to the standby log shipping.
9 start the MRP on the standby database.
10. run the script of correction (catbundle.sql) on the primary database and monitor the progress of the eve of the resumption.
Please refer to this

Install the patches on the application tier before moving to linux
Hello
I would like to know if it is recommended patches, I should install on the application (HP - UX) layer before joining the application (115102) linux.
Good year for the EBS forum!
Thank youAll patches are exposed (migration to Linux with the version of Oracle Applications 11i [238276.1 ID]), so make sure that you follow all the steps in this documentation before migrating to the application tier node.
Also, make sure you have all the pre - req packages installed as directed by these documents.

How to install the patch for QuickTime Pro for Windows 7 on a Dell laptop... I got an alert through a program which I run from time to time (Belarc) and it says that there was a security breach detected by Apple (or one of its vendors, who manages the security of the operating system such as Cisco) during December 2015.
Please notify. Thanks in advance for your guidance pertaining to my question.
Download QuickTime for Windows - Apple 7.7.9
Apple ends development of QuickTime Player 7 for Mac and Windows operating system, so don't expect much more beyond this last version.
The installation shows are supported for Windows 7 and lower, so I don't know what to expect on Windows 10.

I seem to have in dual processes that run in the Task Manager.
In the Task Manager, I see the same process running several times. Example: under user/Admin""(My name as) ","Local Service","Network Service"and"System"." " These really duplicates and they slow down my system?
Are they duplicates? Perhaps.
They slow down your computer? Depends on what you're trying to do. Anything that takes your resources take the pool available for other applications. However, if you do not run low on resources (your CPU has a lot of horses for what is needed and you're not missing memory for most) - then it probably isn't as much of a downturn as just all of the resources actually get used. You won't slow until that run out you of resources and try to open something else.
If you worry about it? N ° except if you have been compromised (you have a virus, worm, Trojan horse, malware any) and this is what is running - the system is as it should. You are not running a single-user system - even if you are the only physical user. Service accounts, etc. are there for the functionality of the machine as a whole.
Windows XP...?
I have some tips that might help you optimize this system...
Search for malware:
Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:
Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)
Search online with eSet Online Scanner.
The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:
Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know usingGoogle (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.
You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.
Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:
You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:
Windows XP should take between 7 and 10 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.
If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...
http://www3.TELUS.NET/dandemar/spack.htm
(Especially of interest here - #4)
(Variant: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm )You can run disk - integrated into Windows XP - cleanup to erase everything except your last restore point and yet more 'free '... files cleaning
How to use disk cleanup
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...
When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:
-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.

The manufacturer has replaced the HD on my computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7. Update Windows shows about 100 updates important to apply. I can't find patches that I had previously applied in the list of applied hotfixes or patches to apply list. I don't understand why this is. How would you recommend I do. I'm afraid to apply the patches to 100 at a time. Those who would be safer to start with?
Thank you
Hello
I suggest you only begin to install the important updates (recommended) first and later if you want you can install optional updates. All Windows update are safe to install and it is important to install the update and recommended by Microsoft. It keeps your computer safer and your software current to date and if you want Windows to install important updates as they become available, turn on automatic updating. Important updates provide significant benefits, such as improved security and reliability. You can also set Windows to automatically install recommended updates, which can address non-critical problems and help enhance your computing experience. Optional updates are not downloaded or installed automatically.
For more information, take a look at the following link:

When I try to install some programs, I get the following message:
WARNING 1909. Could not create shortcut
.lnk. Check that the destination folder exists and that you can access. How this issue is resolved?
I had this same problem trying to update iTunes. I found a solution here:
http://www.SevenForums.com/general-discussion/189897-warning-1909-cant-create-lnk-due-read-only-setting-problem.html
by OneRing2Rule
"When the installation fails and you get the error 1909, stop." DO NOT CLOSE the installation or click a button. Simply open another window, navigate to the data directory of program (C:\Program Data\whatever-the-name-of-the-directory-is C:\Program Apple for installation of iTunes), do a right click and select Properties, clear the read-only attributes at the bottom of the box and apply. Then go back to the installation failed and click Retry. »

Port is too long that the process that runs on there
Platforms: 11.2.0.3 on AIX/Linux/Solaris
This is a question about how software Oracle maintains sessions client connected after that the listener is stopped with elegance
Scenario of
=========
You have a DB and its listener running on the DB server. The listener runs on port 3278.
From your laptop, you start a sqlplus session to through the listener. After the session must be connected to the laptop. The process of listening to the DB server is reduced. But sql * more session connected to the laptop can still issue queries and get the results.sqlplus session is still connected to the DB via port 3728, even if the listener is down. ESTABLISHED for that port displays the following output of netstat on the Server DB (10.80.0.213)
A TCP/IP Port exists only when the process that runs / plays on it is. Right? Thus, after the listener is brought back is there another process that maintains this port so that the client session is served with what he needs the DB?$ netstat -an | grep 3728 10.80.0.213.3728 192.168.0.101.59001 17520 881 49640 0 ESTABLISHED
As far as I KNOW, none of the two processes can share a port. Unless there is a mechanism in the listener that calls the port to another process, when it is worn down.Hello
I think that explains very well at a level detailed - the way he manages the ports has changed slightly in the new versions of oracle - lsof does not look like it can in older versions.http://packetpushers.NET/SQLNET-a-k-a-Oracle-TNS-and-firewalls/

I get the following error:
error: implicit declaration of function 'GetActiveProcessorCount' is not valid in C99. Make sure that you include the prototype for the function.
I've included windows.h
which includes winbase.h
Winbase.h contains the prototype for the function in the above error message.
If I disable 'Require the function prototypes' and 'Building with the C99 extensions', I get the following error:
error: Undefined symbol "_GetActiveProcessorCount" referenced in "c:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\CVI\HDLC\cvibuild. HDLC_RandD\Debug\HDLC_RandD.obj ".
I work in the ICB 2013 SP2.
Why I get this error.
This function is only valid in Windows 7 and later versions. Because the ICB 2013 still supports Windows XP, this feature is excluded by default from Windows headers that are provided with CVI. If you do not need to worry about the versions of Windows prior to Windows 7, however, you can include it yourself, by adding the following macro in the dialog box options generation CVI (be sure to include for all configurations):
