  Hi Ramm,

  Welcome to the forums.

  It is a best practice to not virtualize a domain controller. It is better to create a new server and promote a domain controller.

  You can divide your domain name and create a replica of lab but you always have to take care of is not to reconnect this isolated domain in production to avoid conflicts.

  These are the steps to split a domain:

  -create a virtual Windows machine with the same version and SP as production

  -promote a domain controller

  -Once the replication completed, isolate it from the network

  -in the field of production, remove data from active directory to the remote server

  -on the remote server, enter the FSMO roles, DNS and DHCP functionality

• I can't create a new virtual machine, for the error "invalid state" of vmware

  Hi, I have an esx server with some production virtual machines vmware;

  Yestarday I made a new VM, suse linux, froma cdrom; but the file system broke down, it has been altered, I don't know why,

  and I had to cancel the machine using the "remove disc";

  After that I could read "a system general error occurred" and when I click on create a new virtual machine (ctrl + n), I can't because the answer is "invalid state".

  When I click on each virtual machine in 'events', I do not see the logs, I see this error "system general error occurred.

  can someone help me? , should I restart the service mgmt-vmware?  (init.d) on the host server?

  If you use Virtual Center, rebbot VC server and try again. If this does not work, you may have to restart the ESX host.

  My company has a solution called Capcap of cloud-based load test and one of our customers uses Foglight.  Having heard but never seen it, I was amazed by the breadth and depth of its features.  I can certainly see how it can be used to monitor and manage a complex COMPUTING environment of production but my interest mainly lies in the field of screening and diagnosis, specifically to identify bottlenecks and problems addressed in a QA or environment to stop.  Is there a group of interest or an area on the site devoted to this?  I couldn't find anything but here again there is a lot here.  Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated!  (And great work on the site here, incidentally).

  I am a new user and would like your help pretty desperately. The scenario is that I want to implement a SMS Lab to deploy the application from the server to a client and test the application. I have all the necessary knowledge to the packaging of application is concerned, and would like to help as much as VMWare is concerned.

  I created two virtual machines and one of them will be configured as a server and the other will be the client. I created a team with these two machines in it. I am trying to ping from one machine to the other and its does not work. I only use the method of configuration host. The idea is simply to make the two systems communicate so that I can finish the entire configuration and use the same SMS deployment lab.

  -First of all, I'm new to all this so I would like to know whther to everything I do is correct and what is the largest possible?

  -What I have to do something else to make sure that those two communicate about someother or any other configuration software is necessary?

  I would like to ask you guys to be a little more specific are you when you help others that I need you guys ore than a person who is used to working on VMWare.

  And just so you know if it helps, I use VMWare Workstation 6.0.

  What you are doing is reasonable.  Both of your virtual machines have an IP address on the same subnet?  In general, the scenarios no-ping, the first thing to check is the firewall in the guest computers.  Have you checked that allows ping traffic?  If it is disabled?

• Created in Esxi virtual MACHINE can't see the network

  I installed Esxi 5.5 and I have no problem to access and create a virtual machine.

  However, the virtual machine, which is 2012 Windows, does not begin with a network adapter.

  When I check the configuration of the VM, the network adapter is connected, turned on, E1000E but says directpath e/s is not supported. I don't have VMware tools installed in the virtual machine.

  I don't understand where the problem lies. I connect to Esxi ok. I can run the virtual machine in Esxi client ok, but the images says that there is no network.

  I created the VM Windows before 2012, outside of Esxi and the network built in card is detected ok.

  STOP PRESS - in computer management Windows, peripheral, the Ethernet controller is not recognized. So, how can I get the virtual machine to recognize when it is running in ESXI?

  Edit: There is a bug in the user interface for the VIC, where probably 2008 will be displayed as Vista under the toolbar of guest operating system.

  I'm using Labview and DIAdem to create graphical reports and I use screws of connectivity and not the Express VI.

  The data is stored in a data base MySQL Inno.

  I use the following command to get the data I want to show the graphic report!

  SQL_ExecDirect (' select 'TimeStamp', 'Value' by 'TableX' where and taste =' %s and channel =' %s; "" ")

  And then I use:

  SQL_BindChannel ("Datetime1C1", "TimeStamp", "t", "#yyyy - mm - dd hh") to bind the data to the X axis of the graph.

  And after that, I use:

  SQL_BindChannel("SampleN","Value","n") to bind the data to the axis of the graph Y.

  I want to create the chart with more than a sample, I use the commands above on a loop.

  Now here's a printscreen of my problem.

  

  In the first iteration (green line), DateTime1C1 has the timestamp for sample1 but in the second portion (yellow line) DateTime1C1 has the timestamp for sample2, the third iteration (blue line) DateTime1C1 timestamp for sample3. etc.

  The time stamp of origin for each sample are 'lost' he re-wrote datetime1C1. and in the end, it shows only the timestamp for the 5th iteraction.

  How can I create a single graph with several lines (samples) and datetime an axe?

  If I understand your situation, the only thing you need to change is to create a new group in the DataPortal before each request.

  There was an internal API (ADM), but it is deleted. Now you must make your own arrangements as in any other program. You can use native calls (different between platforms) or as wXWidgets library.

  JavaScript has a very simple API, very limited dialogue, but take a look.

  Yes. Rapid deployment would be appropriate.

  Also, as you do this for the purpose of learning, I suggested to be in my experience at least 4 GB of RAM. (because Windows 7 takes about 1 GB of RAM & remaining 3 can be used by the virtual machine, so 4 GB is better for optimal performance).

  Someone at - it a laboratory ESX or ESXi secure Channel in VMWare Workstation installation? I want to install a couple of ESX? ESXi hosts to perform vmotion, DRS, etc but I got contradictory about whether VMware information if possible. I do not expect to be supported.

  I would be grateful anyway - of. If this is not possible, I would that all recommendations for affordable online labs.

  I am currently running under workstation 8.

  • 2 * servers Windows 2008 (Server AD & VC)
  • A NAS
  • 2 * ESXi hosts

  I then nest my virtual machines under ESXi hosts and can test all the features I need.

  My PC spec is:

  CPU - I7 2600 K

  RAM - 16 GB

  Storage - 120 GB SSD for the VMDK. I was running on my NetGear readyNAS, but found the performance was a little painful, especially when turning on/off or suspend the VMs (UN).

  My only complaint is that my VMWare Workstation expired evaluation license and currently waiting for my license after having passed my VCP. (even if it's another story/thread)

  For my Windows servers, I have a technet subscription.

  For ESXi, I'll have to re - install, but it's no biggie.

  I would like to see VMTN subscriptions available, but again, this is another thread.

  Christ focuses to run ESX 4 server on windows 2008 server(hyper-v). You can simply run the ESX 4 on vmware workstation 7 with 64-bit hardware.
