Creation of DVD of Vista freezes when burning

Vista DVD Maker freezes when burning: it was working fine before, but what I get today is "burning (E): Creating DVD, please wait... encoding..." 0.0% ' he sits there and does not activate the process of engraving as it before use.

I got a google toolbar problem and had to do an upgrade, even on Internet explorer 9. I guess it could have caused some sort of problem.

Also, I tried to pick up what others have recommended, but I'm unable to locate and that is the suggestion to open Windows DVD Maker and go into the Options and compatilbilty and uncheck some articles, but I am unable to find the options in create dvd - figure-go for it.

How can I activate the burning process?

Thank you

John

    Help!

    Hello Rkamjm,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.  In my view, the issue could be with the codecs and the following steps should help.

Select Options on the Tools menu, and then return to the Compatibility tab. From there on, remove the check marks in each box. Restart Windows Movie Maker.   See if this will allow you to make a second copy with no problems.  Please let me know if this helped, or if you're still having problems.  Engineer James Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

WMP11 has always worked well for me in the past, but in recent weeks it has errors of intermittent and inconsistent writing.

@ 50% of the discs I burn out very well. The rest will be error when writing and I get a message saying to try different media (which I did) or try a slower speed (which I also did). Bought 2 new types of CD - r and same thing @ 50% of success. Slow speed seems to have no improvement, always @ 50% of success. I have 2 drives and I've tried both and same thing, @ 50% of success with either. The last disc I tried to burn today order written almost 78% and then froze my computer all, no control of cursor, no keyboard, nada. I had to turn off the Tower!

All other functions in WMP look normal. It seems to me be excluded from media-related questions, speed and material issues so I am at a loss for what to do. Help, please! It becomes very expensive and frustrating with all these failures. Help! ;)

PS I went in the application event log and it does not show the gel today.

Try to remove the CD-ROM drive in the Device Manager. Then reboot, Windows should automatically reinstall the drive.
