Creation of DVD Windows (Vista)

  • I am operating Windows Vista on a laptop. I can't find Windows DVD Maker. Where should it be?

Creating Windows DVD is only available in Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate.

To my knowledge, other versions of Vista will have to use the 3rd dvd creation part.
There are some in the web.
Here's one called Sothink DVD maker. It has a paid version or a free version. The free version is NOT a trial version.
I have it with my Windows DVD Maker. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

    Hello Rkamjm,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.  In my view, the issue could be with the codecs and the following steps should help.

Select Options on the Tools menu, and then return to the Compatibility tab. From there on, remove the check marks in each box. Restart Windows Movie Maker.   See if this will allow you to make a second copy with no problems.  Please let me know if this helped, or if you're still having problems.  Engineer James Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Make sure that the video you are trying to burn are not damaged. To see whether the videos you want to burn is corrupted, try playing or viewing with Windows Media Player. If the files do not play with the player, Windows DVD Maker cannot burn.

The error message says to install the software for decoding on the computer in order to successfully burn the video DVD with movie maker. We recommend that you browse the disc that came with the camera to the cross check if there is no software to install.
