Creation of Hyperion Planning

Hello

I worked on the planning of long time back.then we have created demand and has worked on the web client. I'm getting confused with EPMA, view of the application and everything.
A certain pls clarify.

Thank you

Hello

As John mentioned, your question provides enough details to understand anything clearly.

I understand your claim is that you had worked, I guess on desktop and web client, where could you create planning applications. With the advent of the sys 9 and EPMA, you can do the same thing in creating applications with a difference of the planning you lil first creat a view of the application and then deploy to create a planning application. This is where your 'view Application' would come into picture.

Hope this info helps you.

    Hello

I installed Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.3 on linux 32-bit and trying to create my first application.  I have validated my datasources and uses the wizard to create my first sample application.  When I click on create, I get an error and inside the /home/oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/EPMSystem/servers/EPMServer0/logs/Planning_WebApp.log error is:

  • Creation of account balance for the end of the year in Hyperion Planning

We use the 11.1.2.1.0.83 Hyperion planning version. What is the best way to set up a return to the balance sheet account? Wouldn't be store or dynamic calc? A member formula should be used, or should we do it via a calc script? What member formula would look like?

Hmm, I give you the answer, you mark as answer but don't give me all the points, and now you ask another question? I do it only for points.

I am always curious to know if this can be accomplished by incorporating a formula of Member in the offset account and, if so, what the formula embeded script might look like.

^ ^ ^ The formulas I have illustrated and implemented could be put on a dynamically calculated member. As long as the weight is the first (I think the calculation order) the dynamic calc should be fine. I used this approach in planning applications in the past.

  • Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1 Custom Types Dimensions/Plan

    I was hoping to get some expertise on an issue I have with Hyperion Planning. We are currently working on the 11.1.2.1 environment and we have 2 types of active plan implemented;

Plan Type A - dimension of active channel (Custom)

Plan B - channel (Custom) inactive dimension Type

For the channel size, is it possible to transform the Plan Type B as a valid plan type in 11.1.2.1? I didn't know if it could only be configured on the creation of the application or not.

If we activate the dimension for the type of plan, I understand this will cause a number of issues, for example to set the POV for all Web/reports/Scripts for Plan Type b Forms. We are just assessment of the impact, have previously, anyone had any experience of this?

Thank you very much for your help!

For the application of EPMA you doing the same thing of EPMA, change the properties of dimension and deploy the application, here is the link:

  • Unable to see IKM Hyperion Planning loading metadata from the file/Tabl

    Hello

I am unable to see the IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning Knowledge Module in the stream tab. I have reverse engineered the KM and I see the KM in my project (having only 1 project). I am trying to load the metadata of the file up to planning and selected different refuelling area of target. I was able to debone planning cube models ODI successfully.

    ODI Version: 11.1.1.6.3
    Planning version: 11.1.2.2

    Any help will be appreciated.

    -Kash

    The workaround is

After you import the IKM, open the KM and go to "Setting"-> "Source Technology"
Manually change the generic value of 'Technology' of 'SQL' to 'Undefined '.
Save and proceed with your new creation of interface

  • ODI: Hyperion Planning target IKM issue

    All,

In my ODI interface, I am trying to load data from flat file for Hyperion Planning application.

To do this, I imported knowledge modules

    1 RKM Hyperion Planning
    2 LKM SQL file
3 IKM SQL for Hyperion Planning

Here, I am able to Reverese hyperion, planning an application using RKM Hyperion Planning.

Interface creation started and when I try to assign IKM for Hyperion planning target, it's not showing "IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning". _ in the list of the IKM.
Could you please suggest, if I'm missing something.

    Thanks in advance.

    Uday

    Hi Uday,

Have you checked the box "staging: different target area" on the first tab of your interface? You must select a logic diagram it that points to a technology database as the Sunopsis Memory engine or (which I recommend) a schema, Oracle or SQL Server.

Then you should be able to select the IKM planning.

  • Hyperion Planning 9.3 BPMA vs classic

    Hello

We are on Hyperion Planning 9.3 (including all the latest patches). We are building a new planning application. Currently we donot have an ETL tool and it does not appear we will get for each other a few months up to what our new planning application is deployed into production. So in summary we will not have an ETL to solve the below problem.

    I used classical planning as an ETL tool to build my meta - data in recent implementations and have not had the chance to use BPMA. Recently, I started to get aquinted with BPMA and understand some of its benefits. However, I have a few specific questions;

    1. I know classical planning allows a manual creation of members, BPMA allows the same? BPMA should have flat file or table interface to create or add members? Our business users would be manual creation of some members, or for example to change the month of beginning or end of a "scenario". Thus, BPMA allows manual editing and push metadata?

    2. If an application is created using BPMA, they would have to interface via BPMA not classical planning and more. Is this true?

    3. I understand that it is possible to convert a classic application of planning in BPMA but 'NO' to vice versa. Is this true?

    4. Finally, a more difficult question, a more specific question that a little, dictates the choice for us.

My customer wants to each Department to make their respective budgets (noting unusual there). However, most of these departments 'Project' and more specifically budget for budget based on 'Project name' (which are unique and not generic) as opposed to "Project numbers" (is not a standardization project number as yet). The challenge will be "project names" in Hyperion Planning (unfortunately it does exist not in the ERP/GL because these are new projects).

Thus, although the finance team approves the budget of each Department, ultimately they like each Department would be able to create their respective names 'project' in Hyperion planning. And planning of such capabilities that support retail, etc. wouldn't work because they love resulting variance of "Names of project" and slice-n-dice from "project names.

Now if we had an ETL tool above would have been simple, that I would have just created an automatism to say pickup a file with "Project Names" from a folder location is pre-determined. However, because we donot have an ETL, I was wondering if BPMA could do the same thing, i.e., in way automatic pick-up a file to a folder and create members and refresh Hyperion Planning? Could the "batch processing" in BPMA handle this?

    Appreciate all your answers...

If you go down the road of the use of an ETL tool to integrate as a result of the EMP, so, my suggestion is ODI (Oracle Data Integrator)
I wouldn't go too EPMA up to version 11, otherwise you'll be on here post error messages

    See you soon

  • Hyperion Planning for the day-to-day management of payment in banks

    Hi, all!

I need a customizable review on Hyperion Planning to implement reports on the days, e.g. daily liquidity statement of banks and creation of payment plans? So far I am informed HP works with the months as the shorter period. Thank you very much in advance!

The time dimension can be customized to accept the daily details.

We made time for Essbase right thing usually type using cash flow forecasting systems rather than planning however can accommodate this kind of customization.

There may be some performance issues with the form definition which can be quite important on this type of application.

  • Improve the performance of web form of Hyperion Planning

    Hi all

I don't know if anyone has tried the method recommended Oracle to compress the forms used in Hyperion Planning to improve the network performance?

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E12032_01/doc/EPM.921/html_hp_admin/frameset.htm?/docs/CD/E12032_01/doc/EPM.921/html_hp_admin/hpamin-19-17.htm

Slow performance when opening data forms using a Dial-Up connection

    Scenario:

Opening a form of data using a slow network connection (for example, with a modem) takes a long time.

    Solution:

You can greatly increase the bandwidth network at the opening of the data forms by modifying the web.xml file, as described in this section. This option compresses about 90% of the data stream sent from the planning to the client server.

Note: If you are using a WebLogic application server (versions all supported) Web, fill the second procedure, which is specific to WebLogic. If you use another Web application server, follow the first, which contains general instructions.

To modify the web.xml file to improve performance, for any application except WebLogic Web server:

1 with a text editor, open the web.xml file located in HyperionPlanning.ear or HyperionPlanning.war.

2 after the tag < / description > and before the < earphone > tag, insert the following lines:

    < filter >
    < filter-name > HspCompressionFilter < / filter name > < filter -.
    Category > com.hyperion.planning.HspCompressionFilter < / class filter >
    < init-param >
    compressionThreshold < param-name > < / param-name >
    < param-value > 2048 < / param-value >
    < / init-param >
    < init-param >
    Debug < param-name > < / param-name > < param-value > 1 < / param-value >
    < / init-param >
    < / filter >
    < filter mapping >
    < filter-name > HspCompressionFilter < / filter-name >
    EnterData.jsp < url-pattern > < / url-pattern >
    < / filter-mapping >

    3. save the web.xml file.

If you use WebLogic, you must manually change the .ear file and redeploy to the Web application server.

To improve performance with a WebLogic application server:

    1. unzip the file HyperionPlanning.ear to C\:ear, for example.

    2 unzip Hyperion.war under C:\war C:\ear.

3 with a text editor, open the C:war\WEB-INF\web.xml file and change using the instructions in step 2 in the previous procedure.

4 compress the contents of C:\war to C:\ear\HyperionPlanning.war.

    5. compress the content in C:\ear in C:ear\HyperionPlanning.ear

    6. deploy the new HyperionPlanning.ear for the WebLogic Web application server.

    Hello
Yes we did it with a bank that had branches connected to a server through a dial-up line. They are complaining about the amount of data transferred between the branches and the servers. This has worked well on it and has greatly increased the performance of data transfer. However, nowadays the performance bottlenecks are usually not due to the amount of data transferred on the network, but the javascript components that need to run on the client and heavy computing/data and the report creation process.

    See you soon,.

  • ODI - Hyperion Planning metadata load question

    Hi all

Loading metadata in Hyperion planning through SQl IKM - Hyperion Planning, a movement of a member from one parent to the other create a duplicate instead of moving.

    Here is an Ex:

Oracle table - update data Source:
    parent, child, alias, storage, aggregation
    G3K, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.

In planning (before loading the interface):
    parent, child, alias, storage, aggregation
    G2A, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.

In planning (after loading the interface):
    parent, child, alias, storage, aggregation
    G2A, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.
    G3K, G285, xxxxxx, shared, +.

As you can see above, Member "G285" got double in planning. Not sure why this happens? am I missing something?

    ODI 10.1.3.5 & planning 9.3.1.09

    Appreciate your feedbacks.

    Thank you.

    Hello

If you think about it so it is kind of correct what he does.

If you have a member stored then you can't duplicate, so if you give the Member a different parent, then she will move the Member.

Now shared members, you can have several duplicate, then when you load a shared member metadata, and a new parent so he does not know if you want to move the Member so it goes in the way of the creation of another shared member.

If you are a member who is shared in two times and then give another parent, how would he know that you wanted to move.

A possible solution to this is have an interface to remove members shared that you require no more, and then run the normal load of members shared in the correct location.

I have a question about Hyperion Planning (version11.1.2.2.306) order of evaluation of the Dimension which is part of the following navigation:

Administration > manage > Dimension > third tab

What is the ideal way to set the order of evaluation?

Currently, we have the Dimensions dense scattered dimensions first and then (higher number of members at least). What is the proper way to set the order of evaluation?

If it is an Oracle database, you connect to so be, you must enable the custom URL and change the url to server connection: port: sid to the server: port / servicename

Also you can get better Planning_WebApp.log that is located in the directory the plannning managed server logs the log information.

  • Valid intersection is available in SEEP but not Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4

We want to use the new function valid Intersections in Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4. Based on the simplified "Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.4 Interface Administrator's Guide" document, valid Intersections can be created using the simplified-> Console Interface. But we can't find the feature in the Console screen.

Is there anyone know how to activate the function valid Intersections?

    Or

This new feature is only available in SEEP?

It is available in SEEP only at the present time, should be in the planning of all the times that 11.1.2.4.100 patch is released.
