Creation of Sections screw up the numbering of the document

I just spend too much time trying to understand how to solve this problem, so I write my solution for posterity.

Problem: I have a document of 50 pages and I added a text field on the master for the pagination, for example "01 / 50" or "Page 1 of 50. I used Type > insert special character > markers > current Page for the first number and Type number > text Variables > insert Variable > last Page number to the second number. This method works fine and dandy until you add sections. When I added sections (in context-clicking on the page in the control panel pages and then choosing Dialing Options and Sections... and check the getting started Section it screws completely up the number of pages in the document total (i.e. last Page number) for each section. I started having ' 01 / 06 "instead of the" 01 / 50 ", which I was expecting."

Before I post, how I solved this problem, I'll include some web search strings that I used in the case that avoids some future soul time I spent looking for the answer. Here's the research I did that didn't quite return the information I needed:

  • numbering of section InDesign
  • sections of InDesign creating pagination problem
  • last page number broken with sections in indesign
  • Difficulty the pagination of the article in indesign
  • last page InDesign, not to mention all the pages

There is good information in this research, but none of this has helped me to quickly identify the real solution, I'll post as a response shortly.

To solve the problem, I had to actually go to Type > text Variables > define. Select the last Page number, and press the button change. Notice the drop down list titled the scope and see that it is set to the default Section. Change the scope of the Document and the problem is solved; now written account page "01 / 50 ' instead of ' 01 / 06".»

I'm not a Javascript or Java programmer, so I could be missing in one or more stages.

Watching the news of Javascript I have I see the following code:

    var r = new Report();

    r.writeText (this.metadata);

    r.Open ("myMetadataReportFile");

    Save("/c/MyReport.pdf"));

The code doesn't seem to work when run from the console. If I run 'this.metadata' I get the information I expect. This suggests that the problem is with the creation of reports and save the document.

I haven't found how to get information on the Doc Info dictionary.  There is another need.

NOTE: In both cases (XMP and DocInfo), we will add CUSTOM metadata.

Ideally, I would record two XMP and DocInfo as XML information sets. In this way, we can make a comparison between the two.

Finally some code I've done with must be able to perform the Wizard Action on about 10,000 files. If the input file is "file.pdf" output should be "file.xml".

To run several lines in the console, you must select them all with the

Subsequently, you can place the code in an Action and run it like

The "metadata" property must return the complete XMP file, including any

  • V - Portal of Vonage and Linksys RTP300 screw up the call diversion

I have a situation where a Linksys RTP300 legacy and vestigial is unconnected to all phones, but only to the LAN seems to screw up the call between Vonage numbers forwarding phones attached to a single Vonage V-portal which can be found on the same LAN.  Incoming and outgoing calls are not affected. Remove the Linksys RTP300 seems to fix the problem.  Can someone tell me why this would happen because the RTP300 is not connected either for all phones?  And why the call forwarding is only affected (tent to transfer calls sends just calls to your voicemail, even if the other line is not picked up or not in use).  The network is flat where the V-Portal of Vonage Linksys RTP300 and one small switch 8 ports are linked directly to the five ports integrated switch a firewall router, with the WAN port on the firewall router attached to a T1 CSU/DSU.  I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly), if no phone is connected to the RTP300, there would be no SIP traffic either.  Or would the RTP300 send SIP traffic even with no attached phone?

  • Book and the Document creation / relationship

I guess that the logical progression of the creation of what a long document with sections muliple (component maintenance manual) is to create a book and then documents (a document for each section) in the book.  It seems to work when I create a new project to document and I'm looking for some feedback validating my hypothesis.

Another question about the creation of a book / document.  When I select the model to create the book / document, it automatically creates a name for documents in the book.  The model I use is a bought to create the component by iSpec2200 maintenance manuals.  I guess I can copy the model, create a new template by pasting the copied template and change the new model to use a new naming convention I want.

Thanks to anyone, from a novice of the frame, which can confirm these assumptions.

    Eric

    Eric,

You can create the document files and the file book in any order you want. In general, would create at least one document file before you create the book file. There is no need to create an empty file first book. You can even do it after creating all document files. The order is not important.

Models are not objects that we copy and glue. They are imported into new or existing documents. Therefore, if you want to change a model, just to save the original model with a new name and then change the new template file. Some changes you can do right in the file, such as styles, reference pages and master pages. If you must change the ESD, so you must export definitions from element to a DSP, change the EDD and then reimport the element definitions in the model.

  • Untrusted connection is missing section "I understand the risks".

Run Firefox 33.1.1 on Windows 7, try to access https://code.google.com. I get the page "this connection is untrusted", (specifically sec_error_unknown_issuer), but there is no section "I understand the risks" to allow me to add an exception. Other posts have suggested trying to 'forget this page', who has not solved the problem, or "Ce Frame: Open image in New Tab", which does not appear on right-click in this case. I also tried to go in 'View Page Info' but there was nothing out there for me to add the certificate either.

Open the chrome URI by pasting or typing this URI in the address bar to open the window "Add the Security Exception" and to check the certificate:

    • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.XUL

In the field location type and paste the URL of the Web site

    • retrieve the certificate via the button 'Get certificate '.
    • inspect the certificate via the "view..." button. »
  • Gap between the screws with the NI 9237 & Assistants DAQ

I have a set of scales attached to a NI 9237 module in a cDAQ 9174. I have two separate screws following the gross load cell output (mV/V). The two screws acquire through a DAQ Assistant. Two Assistants DAQ are configured in the same way, and yet they have different output values. Reads around 0.003 mV/V being not charged while the other reads 0.03 mV/V - an order of magnitude difference. Any thoughts on why this is? Thank you!

    Thanks David,.

Finally, I followed him there down to a calibration offset null being applied to a DAQ Assistant and not the other. Is there a way to remove this discrepancy in the DAQ Assistant? It is not evident. I only noticed after DAQmx code conversion and managed to remove it it.

  • How to loosen the screw on the cover of the hard drive T420i?

Hello, I'm moving to a bigger HDD on my T420i, but I can't seem to loosen the screw on the cover of the hard drive. Should what size/type of screwdriver I use? Thank you!

I use a Phillips 00 bit to remove the HARD drive cover plate. Once you have unscrewed the cover, using a small lever plastic (credit card works, too) for this boost to the bottom, and then it can be removed safely.

  • Pavilion G7-1338DX: lost the screws of the housing on Pavilion 17.3 "

Hi people! I had to replace a bad hard drive in the laptop and somehow move the screws of the lower casing 12 like a fool... I'm usually careful about keeping the screws in a safe and marked place for what and whence they came. The service manual indicates that the screws are screws M2, 5 x 7.0 (page 50 in print, page 58 read in Adobe http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03538328 ).

However, when you try to order on this site, a warning to the owners of HP/Compaq laptop says that the repair can errs on the size of the screws (note the link highlighted yellow "Important notice"):

    http://www.laptopscrews.com/m2.5x7.htm

"Please note that errors have crept in HP/Compaq manual with screw sizes. The error is usually in the diameter of the screw. An M2.5 indicated as an M2 or one indicated as a screw M2, 5 M3. If possible measure a screw before you order or order the screw in two diameters if you have doubts. You should also know that HP/Compaq manuals report measures the entire screw. "For a screw of M2.5x9 HP, please order a M2.5x8."

Because I don't even have screws to measure, can someone confirm what are actually the screws of the housing 12 real background for a Pavilion G7-1338DX?

  • WHRE is the spell checker in the document section?

I did a word processor in the document file. When I looked for the spelling checker, I couldn't find it. Not even in the help section. I need help with this.

    Hello johnlucas3544,

What treatment do you use? WordPad is not built in spellchecker, nor do the notebook. Microsoft Word only. In Word 2010, the spelling checker and the grammar is on the Review tab

If you do not have Microsoft Word, you would like to download a free office suite like OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org). Save your wordpad in RFT format (assuming it's wordpad you use), and open it in OpenOffice truncated. You can then use openoffice spell check.

Incidentally, OpenOffice is far bette than Wordpad and, of copurse, it's completely free

  • How to erase history of reliability report details in the section "maintenance" of the Centre?

    Original title: reliability history

Is there a way of compensation reliability history report details in the section "maintenance" of the centre?

    Hello

    Please keep us updated.

To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:

Why do you want to delete the contents of "the history view reliability?

The reliability monitor has a chronology of software and hardware changes, application failures and shutdown problems.  The version of Windows 7 does not collect data using WMI (Windows Management Interface) and this explains why there is no executable file as resmon.  WMI also allows you to collect reliability data using Windows PowerShell scripts.

How to reset the history of reliability monitor?

Suppose you want to resume, and clear history of reliability monitor; This is how to do it:

    a. you need locate the folder of RAC, it's usually to:

    C: \ProgramData\Microsoft\RAC

    (b) to decide if you want to keep the data, if so, then copy or save the sub folders PublishedData and StateData.

    c. Select all files in the C: \ProgramData\Microsoft\RAC\PublishedData folder.  Right click and delete.

    d. repeat to C: \ProgramData\Microsoft\RAC\StateData.

    e. now that you have reset the reliability monitor, it will automatically start recording new data.

Hope this is useful information. Please come back for any clarification on this or any issue of Windows. We will be happy to help you.

    Hey there!

We took apart the screen base to ship and the four screws on the bottom have been fitted. Do you know what type of screws they are?

In addition, those are the only things that we must mount the stand together, right?

    Thank you!

I took it to a hardware store and they solved easily.

For reference, M4 -.70 screw work. I think it means wide .7mm and 4mm long.

  • How to hide or disable Update icon in the attachments of the Documents for the record section?

    Hi all

We hope to get a response from it.  We have a requirement to hide or disable the Update icon in the attachments to the Documents in the files section in HRMS.   I thought that this could be done easily through customization but that updated icon is not customizable.  How this can be done through the controller object?  I don't know what kind of bean is, and even if I do, I don't know the exact name of this property.   Can anyone give me suggestions on how this is possible?   I don't know Java too so if you guys could be more specific about the code, that would be great!

    Thank you

    Ron

    Hello

It worked!  I put the code in the main query of the process Controller object.  The ID is DorAttachmentTable.

Thanks again for your help.  I would not have thought this code myself.
