After using a version of an Adobe application for an upgrade, you have effectively invalidated your license of the previous version except for the system that you have upgraded. In other words, in this case, you can let CS4 on the system that you upgraded to CS5, but by the end user license agreement, you cannot install, activate and use CS4 on another computer at the same time!

  Your CS5 would not have the Ext goodies, but if you let CS4 Ext on your computer, you can use them in this package. You will need to register your CS5 work in a CS4 compatible file.

  Yes, unisntall and disable older versions, if you think you don't need them. Forget this idea with the following OnOne. Download the installer correct of the seller even if it may cost extra. CS5 Plugins can cause all sorts of terrible things in CS6...

  Yes, it is correct in every way. Newer versions will never affect more older and install separately. Image metadata doesn't have to be transferred, CS5 will recognize the embedded data and sidecar XMP like CS4 has, since its stored in image files, not directories of the program. If you need to export configuration data, use the relevant options in the variaous for example to export panels brushes or styles. and Yes Men do not hesitate to uninstall CS4. Just beware that it can burst your file associations. The right way would be to uninstall CS4 and CS5, and then reinstall only CS5.

  I have a brochure with jet-out pages (page so different sizes) I want to provide as CS4 work (and not PDF) to the printer, which did not update to CS5 because it is only available for Intel Macs (which they do not have either - Motorola only, I just found out).

  If export you it to export file IDML, then they can open in CS4.

  BUT all the different page sizes would be maintained, i.e., they will all be the same size and not of different sizes you have in CS5.

  CS5 has that CS4 is lost in the translation by going backward in inDesign.

  I would say that they buy a decent computer (PC or MAC) and get a trial or upgrade their CS5 software.

  On Win7, they are stored in c:\Users\username> \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS4\Collections\ in the form of .filelist files, simply move them to the same folder tree but with CS5 instead of CS4

  Hi, we are using firefox on linux centos on about 1,000 computers. We use Firefox 10.0.7 ESR. For our applications, we need JRE1.6_17.

  The problem is that some of our intranet pages has stopped working. I discovered, that the java plugin has been disabled. It has been disabled because the user clicked Yes when asked that the plugin was old and it will be disabled.

  I tried to change the "plugins.update.url" in subject: config, but always found firefox, that the plugin is old.

  My questio is: is there a way to disable checking of plugin (at least for java plugin) in subject: config or by using a config file?

  I know that it is possible to do by clicking on, but if someone wants to do that on 1000 computers using several user profiles with machines to spread its 500 kilometres, please contact me.

  You will probably need to disable blocklisting and remove the current blocklist.xml file in order to avoid the plugins to have blocked.

• Plugins updated but still get the plugin update tab

  I get the tab to update my plugins, I've updated everything and I disabled some. If all the plugins I use are green now.

  But everything I do, close the tab, restart, reboot, whatever... every time I start up Firefox tab plugin darn rises again. Also, I entered a new URL in subject: config, but I always hate to open 2 tabs.

  This issue is underway for more than a year, it seems, as I read all the mozilla support pages. I can't believe nobody found any solution to this, and mozilla didn't do something to fix this in their new version.

  I even uninstalled Firefox, nothing Firefox erased my windows registry and then installed the beta version of Firefox, and I always get the tab plugin update... really really boring!

  Doesn't anyone know how to get rid of this?
