  It's actually a secanario of migration it should work fine. I had no problem with 5.2 and 6.0 on the same system.

  With CSA 6.0, network access control rule [1635], were decisive for this access. The request is identified as:

  svhost.exe k termsvcs

  Termsvcs is your terminal services/RDP. Just add an exception to this rule that allows the connection using the host addresses.

  I use CW/VMS installed in two Windows servers, with CSA MC one and other with SecMon, and each server is protected by its own security officer.

  Now, I want to use a larger machine for SecMon. Before you uninstall SecMon and common Services of the CW and reinstall them in the new PC, I uninstalled the security officer.

  The CSA MC seems not to be informed of this unistallation. View summary of the situation continues on the same number of agents. The guest screen keeps the machine SecMon.

  Forty minutes later, the MC of the CSA changed the State of the agent not active, but it still shows the same number of agents.

  I assumed during the uninstallation, the agent should contact the CSA MC and 'BACKSPACE' licence (the opposite of the registration process that takes place during the installation). Am I wrong?

  How can I return the license to install the agent in new SecMon machine?

  It's been a long time I did, but I think you remove the Management Center for CSA 4.X in Add/Remove programs by choosing Ciscoworks and choose the MC for 4.X as a choice when the initial dialog box appears.

  There may be other ways, but it's the only one I remember.

• CSA v5.2 to v6.0.1 update: not available on CSA 5.2 software update

  Today, I upgraded a CSA v5.2 to v6.0.1 on the same physical server.

  During installation, it has been a failure (import data migration) and the installation process could not find the .dat and .xml files in the folder migration\export of the 5.2 cm. All the problems I could solve by exporting of v5.2 and import to v6.0.1 manually.

  When I try to plan a software update on the MC 5.2 to migrate and update agents from 5.2 to 6.0.1 MC, the new software (6.0.1) are not available. Well as they should by the 6.0 installation guide. I guess that something was wrong to register the software updates during the installation process.

  Now CSA v5.2 and v6.0.1 coexist on the same computer and the CSA (version 5.2) agents are still connecting to the MC 5.2. Only the MC CSA agent connects to 6,0 MC.

  Is there a way to make the 6.0 software updates appear on the MC 5.2? So I can use an update scheduled to migrate them to MC 6.0.

  This looks like a problem that occurs when the command window is closed before the migration is complete.

  You may be able to run the register_software_update.sql script, or use the prepare_52_migration.exe to migrate.

  What model of laptop do you have? Do you use the laptop with the original operating system preinstalled?

  Open Device Manager and check if the LAN CSA is listed and enabled correctly.

• I have trouble downloading the HDV, but not standard DV, computer. Vista 64

  I have a problem downloading HDV on computer.  Video camera is Sony HDR - HC7, HP desktop using windows vista 64-bit.  Download DV quality, but trying to get HDV, computer says that there is no device.  FireWire, camera and tape all work for HDV on old computer running XP and can download HDV 1440 x.  Looked through Internet and here, already downloaded lastest Jmicro 1394 driver without success.  Using Roxio and Mircrosoft download, both with same exact problem.  Works with 720, but not high def.  Since all work on other computers and update driver, makes me think of windows problem.  Thanks for your suggestions

  You have an open requestes TAC and so you will get their orientation

  Wil share still some general clarifiactions that I'm aware of when ranging from 5.2 to 5.4 ACS ACS

  For the first step in the upgrade process, you want to upgrade the collector's journal since will the configuration data and M & T.

  (1) if the ACS 5.2 log collector is a seconday should just remove from the deployment to make independent and then upgrade the server to be ACS 5.4. He will start the new ACS 5.4 main server (this is temporary and gets rectified at the end of the whole process)

  (2) if the collector's journal is primary GBA 5.2 then promote a difference then collector journal is now secondary and can follow step 1)

  At this point have a server on CSA 5.4 and rest on ACS 5.2. Can now begin to spend the rest of 5.2 to 5.4 ACS ACS servers (as guide says: "enter the secondary server for GBA 5.4 primary server '-c' is the main temporary server as described in step 1)

  Once all servers are migrated then can select "primary long-term." as opposed to a temporary

• CSA for ICM/IPCC and SQL Backup Wizard

  I have CSA for ICM (version 4.5 - 1 build 639) installed on all our servers to the ICM. It prevents SQL to make its backups to a network share. I stop the CSA and backups work fine. Thus, the permissions aren't too bad on the share drive. The backup works fine if the backup is created locally, is not a better practical backup strategy.

  Does anyone know of a work around?

  the CSA managed product will work without problem. You can customize the policy to work with any backup software.
