CTL + C/Ctrl + V does not not on FF 30 (Linux Debian SID, KDE)

An upgrade to Firefox 30 copies (Ctrl + v) not working. The "Linux Way" (marking with the left button of the mouse, copy with the middle button) works very well. Any solution available or - is this a bug?

Thank you very much
Anton

Note that there not one version of 30.0a2 as it is currently on the development of Aurora chain and it gets usually check-ins each day and, therefore, an update of each of these days. This means sometimes that a generation a day may have problems that attaches to the next day.

    I use win 8.1

    Hello

I have not heard of 25 FF origin of this particular problem, but I've heard other programs such as ZoneAlarm and QTranslate causing the problem on specific versions of Firefox.

For example these two previous requests for support: here and here.

The best way to test it is probably for a boot Windows safe with networking. Then see if you have the same problem in Firefox. If the problem does not appear Windows safe mode, then you can be sure that another application (security software most likely) is at the origin of the problem.

If the issue still seems Windows safe mode then I suggest to try a restart of Firefox:

Firefox - modules to reset and refresh settings

This will return the default settings for Firefox. Your bookmarks and history will be saved, but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.

  • CTRL + f does not - FF 19.0.2

Hello. I took a look at similar topics, but couldn't find a solution. My apologies if this is a wireless duplicate.

In fact, my problem is that Ctrl + f does not work in Firefox. The bar of 'research' does not appear and nothing happens at all. If I use Ctrl + g, the search bar appears. But it is still really me upset that Ctrl + f will not work.

I use Firefox on Windows 7 19.0.2, although this problem has persisted throughout the last few versions of FF. I restarted FF in safe mode, but the same problem occurs. I've also renamed localstore.rdf in my profile folder (as I read that this might help diagnose the problem), but, again, the problem was the same.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply, John99.

I thought that this safe mode disables the plug-ins and extensions. Now that you have told me otherwise, I fiddled with my plug-ins, and get rid of an outdated flash plug-in seems to have solved the problem!

CTRL + f works for the moment in any case. I will introduce timely to confirm if the problem comes back.

  • I can not open a new tab - when I restart my computer (or firefox), ctrl T does not work and the tab '+' next to the tab on my browser window does NOT open a second tab

Firefox3.6.18, running on Windows XP (all patches from Microsoft), opens with a single tab. By clicking on the tab add '+' or by pressing CTRL T does not open a new tab, even if I open a new window. In addition, when you exit Firefox, my location of the tab is not saved.

  • Satellite P200D-139 - left CTRL key does not

Hello. I recently bought a new P200D-139 and have found that the left CTRL button does not work. For example, if I try to copy using CTRL + C, it does not. It is the way in which the keyboard is configured with these laptops or is it a problem of possible hardware/software?

All the tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the same laptop and CTRL + C works on the first day. The laptop with muss factory settings allow you to use this key combination.
It works with the right CTRL key?

  • CTRL key does not work as expected

    Original title: keyboard Help!

There is a recurring issue going on with my keyboard or very probably my pc...
Well first to start with - I use a software type "ventrilo" called "mumble" that uses the 'CTRL' key as a key to talk with others in the same precedente.* *-could be a reason
My CTRL key seems really screw randomly until that moment, it turn on sticky keys [where ctrl has practically been pressed permanently] even if it is not enabled on the settings... which makes it really difficult to browse web site or use games because I'm unable to type.
Even if I try to disable it by using the two keys ctrl - it does not turn off...
When I try to copy and paste using my CTRL key left it appears just under the letter c or v when I'm trying to do, but when I do it with my right ctrl - it is successful...
    * steam question *.
I use also a program called "steam" that allows me to talk with others and play some games - but the sticky keys seem to be really stuck on this issue, I am unable to do anything...
Whenever I press 'a' after that it is already used once - it will remove 2 characters: example: I type AGT-> and I press 'a' once more-> deletions G and T
or whenever I have press BACKSPACE at all during a conversation of steam, it deletes everything.
Urgent W on it also a tab or an im window closed on...
pressing V will paste what I had copied at all, and finally pressing z would substitute a letter - for example: za-> type z once more-> towers to zz
I hope you understand what I'm talking... help? Thank you...

    Hello Kent,

Let us make sure that this isn't a keyboard problem. Connect a different keyboard to see if the CTRL key is working.  If it works fine, then it is a problem of faulty device. You may need to replace the driver.

If this does not work on the new keyboard, then it must be a setting in the software that you have installed that is causing this problem.

As a work around, I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard and check if this solves this problem.

    1. type of Device Manager in the Start Search box and press on enter.

    2. browse the keyboard.

    3. right click on the mentioned keyboard driver and select Uninstall.

    4. once the driver is uninstalled, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

Note: Windows will automatically detect the keyboard and install the necessary driver via Windows updates.

    See 't-working-properly#update-driver-hardware-isn't-working-properly=windows-7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/update-driver-hardware-isn

If the keyboard print incorrect characters, then try the steps mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258826

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.

  • Shortcut Ctrl C does not work in the main window of Firefox

    I use Firefox version 38.0.5, Windows 7
Since the update Ctrl + C shortcut does not work in the main window of Firefox. (I can't copy text from any website using Ctrl + C).

Click right and using the copy in the menu works perfectly. CTRL V and Ctrl X work fine without problem.

Ctrl C works fine when copying text from the address bar and search bar, I just can't copy anything from anything in the main window of firefox.

I tried to run Firefox in safe mode, I have also reset firefox and a virus scanner, but nothing has solved the problem.

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thank you

After working with someone who had found that the search function was located to ctrl + T instead of ctrl + F, I would suggest that you install also the keyconfig extension so you can see what strikes it's supposed to be to aid. Maybe some overzealous location it has mapped to another key?

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Keyconfig_extension

However, I do not think that this would explain the menu editing > select > all the does not.

It works better or differently in Safe Mode?

  • CTRL + Enter Does not post message on Basecamp

CTRL + Enter sends a message in GMail and many apps to use as shortcut 'send '. Works for me on GMail.

But on Basecamp.com, it does not work when you post a message on Basecamp. Works well on other browsers. When I contacted their support, they said that FF does not allow for customization of this shortcut.

What can I do to get this working?

As GMail and many other sites demonstrate, it is not true. We can't really do anything, though, as they need to implement support for this shortcut in their application. If possible, you should follow with their support and give examples of applications where it works.

  • Keyboard shortcut for close tab (CTRL + W) does NOT work for PDF tabs. Why? Solution?

    Hello

I had to use the keyboard rather than the mouse or trackpad pretty much recently due to injury. At the closing of the tabs, CTRL + W seems to do. However, it does not always work. It does not work with PDFs and often on YouTube as well.

What I've read, it's because of the development of collection of plugins. However, isn't there a way to replace it, because it's pretty heavy from the accessibility point of view?

    Thank you!

Hello, in regard to a PDF file, you may want to try the extension pdf.js (there could be still some bugs, but it is under very active development) - it makes PDF files with common web technology & shouldn't trap keyboard focus...

  • Where did my research have to go (Ctrl + F does not work)

Until today, I could search for web pages with Ctrl + F. It stopped working today. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and it still doesn't work. It does not work when I use the Find command.

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the search bar falls to the bottom.

Open the system menu via Alt + space and see if you can resize the window.

If it works, then close Firefox to save the setting.

    Dear community,

I updated the BIOS of my TP T410 (2522), German keyboard, to 1.45. After the update, both CTRL keys don't work anymore. Ditto for the AltGr key. When I switch to CTRL FN in the FN key BIOS - as supposed - works like the CTRL key. But when I turn off again the FN returns to his good funtion and CTRL does not work.

When I connect an external keyboard via USB it works perfectly.

Any suggestions how get the CTRL key works again?
