CTS to ex-TANDBERG Endpoints P2P

All,

I just want to check, at this moment endpoints STC cannot call just ex-TANDBERG endpoints using P2P, right?  They both must be registered to CUCM to call back at the moment, the right?  In the future CTS endpoints will be able to call any point endpoint H323 without infrastructure or it should always call through CUCM?

Thank you

Justin

  • Logo on Tandberg endpoints

    Hello

We have Tandberg VCS with endpoints EX 90 and profile of the series which are registered with H323.

    (1) I download my company logo as the background on the Tandberg endpoints?

    (2) I would also like to know if I could add the logo to the company when users connect to a conference using MCU (like a welcome screen)?

    (3) can I do call the end points by using the ip address that are registered with H323?

    Please advice.

    Thank you

    John

You will need to make some changes on your endpoint, by the call in Live Mode, and then you should be able to make direct calls.

For more details, let me know I'll open up a case on your behalf and will go for a troubleshooting session.

  • Integration of CUCM, CTS and TMS

We currently have a 8.6/CTS-Man/CTMS CUCM environment for our telepresence system.  All systems are CTS only.  Currently, connect us to a Tandberg system via Server CUBE/VCS/telepresence.

We are looking at the possibility of integrating the two systems together.  This would involve decommissioning our CTS-man and using their existing planning TMS.  Networks would be open to each other so that they didn't cross highway of CUBE/VCS.

Can someone tell me please to some documents on the integration of the TMS with our CUCM for planning?

Furthermore, is it possible to have a single MSDS to perform the planning on the two CUCM registered CTS and saved VCS Tandberg endpoints end points, as well as to perform planning tasks for Community trade marks and MSE8000/telepresence Server?

    Thank you

    Hi Nick

It is a very good question, and the bellows are drawn from the responses on the features that each product can provide you (CTS - Man and TMS) however as we know the TP Cisco world is changing and moving quickly if the bellows has been updated / changed and can someone comment on this topic will be great for us

    Meetings 1-booking

    TMS:

    -adhoc and meetings,

    -3rd-party endpoints reservation.

    -Ms Exchange, Domino, and API

    CTS - Man:

-mainly used for endpoints STC booking

-You can book and include cisco webex

    -Ms Exchange, domino and API

    2 features

    TMS:

    -End suppliers Multi points

    -Telephone directories

    -planning of conf

-management endpoints (monitoring, Reporting, strong alerts... etc)

    -commissioning

-integration with 3rd party such as Ms exchange

-"There is no button to push" for the endpoints of CTS (you can add CTS alis for TMS rooms and book it or add the E164 of the external endpoint CTS as a participant and not these means are a button to push the meeting!

    CTS-MAN

    -integration of calendar

-Midware between CTS, CUCM system and society of calendaring system

-provide 'a button to push' scheduled meetings

-provide interoperability simplified such planning via Cisco MXE

-Live English option and CTMS geographical selection

for each of them can provide you with options and features and its depends on the needs of your business, you could keep both or just go with one, if you have endpoints of VCS I would say for sure to the TMS

  • A MultiSITE call may be promoted to a MultiWAY call?

I have a customer who currently has a number of endpoints with multi-site licenses, mainly 6000MXP units.  The client is developed to the point where 6-pin calls are no longer adequate, and they'll have to buy an MCU.

    My question is:

Can the customer still enjoy the microcontrollers built in codecs 6000MXP and use a MultiSITE call until the participants are too many and then degenerate into a MultiWAY call?

Will there be a way to migrate the customer to a MCU usage, perhaps by the personal use of alias of bridge?

    Hi Anthony!

Can the client still take advantage of the built-in MCUs in the 6000MXP codecs, and use a MultiSITE call until such time as the participants are too many, and then escalate to a MultiWAY call?

No, it is not possible to climb a call running Multisite for a call Multiway or MCU (MXP or C series).

On the endpoints that will be able to launch the Multiway call is an exclusive setting, therefore,

Select Multisite, Multiway (or completely disable a Multipoint).

In addition Multiway must be supported by the endpoint, newest Cisco/Tandberg endpoints points support

initiate a call Multiway and many (incl. 3rd party) support to be reunited to form a Multiway call.

It is also dependent on the version of the software.

In short, with Multiway may as end points that do not support being redirected

for the MCU (for example the outer parts where you don't have conrtol from software versions,...)

do not be reunited to form the Conference.

Is there a better way to migrate the client to the use of an MCU, perhaps through the use of personal bridge aliases?

Is there a better way to migrate the client to the use of an MCU, perhaps through the use of personal bridge aliases?

To swap the MXP multisite with a microcontroller of HD Cisco (old Codian) is a great idea in any case, it will not focus only

the capacity of the largest conferences but also improves quality. Each participant will receive its own optimized

video stream instead of the single video stream where the worst participant defines what you will get.

As you said, after meeting personal room numbers (with findme or certain rules of vcs, you can also do named uris,

as [email protected] / * /), generic virtual meeting rooms or to book through TMS/Scheduler

    may be the solution.

  • H323 Keep-alives

I have a client with calls H323 falling at the 1 hour mark. classic symptom of H323 or H225 timeout issues.

Problem is that the customer has a network refuses (big client with many geographically distributed teams) to adjust the firewall of the team time-out values.

Is there a way to Setup persistent on endpoints or the VCS?  Endpoints are mainly MXP always, slowly being changed for C-series.

    Thank you.

    Hi Anthony,.

Cisco/Tandberg endpoints use H245 messages to keep alive the call, they send H245 keep alive messages every 30 seconds. However, in some cases, the firewall does not consider the Dungeon H.245 living messages and then it disconnects the call if no H225 keep alive messages are received during a certain period of time (in your case, 1 hour).

The problem is, most of the Cisco/Tandberg endpoints cannot send H225 keep alive messages, only H245 messages (they use the roundTripDelayRequest and roundTripDelayResponse messages). Of the endpoints of TC, TC6 and versions later, Cisco has provided a keep alive feature H225, but the default time is 2 hours and that cannot be changed, so endpoints keep alive session every 2 hours.

For the MXP endpoints, as far as I know, we're not support H225 keep alive, only H245.

Therefore, you should really fix the configuration of your firewall, once you can make any configuration change in the endpoints to solve the problem.

Take a peek at this defect associated with H225 keep alive question of the endpoints TC, note that Cisco suggests customers to make adjustments in the typology where the H323 (H225/H245) sessions are sent via or on the device firewall to handle the video traffic correctly.

  • H.239 does not work when using the way Express of VCS.

    Hello

on my network, I have control of VCS Cisco and Cisco Expressway to connect the external endpoin (endpoint with the public IP for example point)

The problem is that when the network interior, I send a content (using the H.329) point public endpoints receive a presentation, but not H239.

If I go into windows thestatists in the MCU, I don't see all the data.

    Internal endpoint static is present.

I can do a configuration especially in the way Cisco Express to use the H.239 in internet?

    Thanks for your help.

    Fcostalunga

Radvision endpoints both Polycon use radvision H.323 stack, while Tandberg endpoints use a single H.323 stack.

H.323 endpoint outside the firewall/NAT must apply directly to the controller of H.460.18/19 border instead of a doorman. If you could provide file OCAP for your case, that will be useful.

  • Tandberg Multi Point called endpoints

    Hello Experts from Cisco TP,

We have Tandberg Profile and Ex 90 end points, I understand the EX series and profile series integrated MCU resource, how do I configure Multipoint calls without using a separate MCU.

We have ver.6 VCS and MCU 4505. Can make Conference calls using MCU 4505.

    Thank you

    Bobby

    Hi Bobby,.

You can foind installed on endpoints, it is visible on a GUI on the system information page, section Installed options

According to the description of the product of C90, it contatin multisite functionality, if it isn't on EX90, then perhaps he is not bought for it.

You can check the license using the serial number of the device and licensing tool

    Link to the tool: https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/LicensingUI/Home#tabbeditem

  • Appeal of CTS (FullHD) via the server endpoint HD telepresence

    Hello

I have some doubts on the port assigned to a telepresence server when I call CTS3000 to a HD endpoint using telepresence server.

For example, I hace two CTS3000 and two endpoints of HD, when I make a call, how many ports are used? Two Full HD and HD two or four HD?

I said this because if you use port FullHD rather HD telepresence blade server port you have less port if you use HD port only.

2 Blades: Telepresence Server 8710--> 32 ports ports-24 HD FullHD

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards.

The CTS3000 uses 3 ports (one for each codec) video, while Standard rooms use 1 video port.  When your call is active, you can see the use of the port on the telepresence server by looking at the STATUS screen. If your server is configured in Full HD, the number of available video ports is reduced from 16 to 12.

  • Package marking verification of outgoing packets for Immersive Endpoints TX, series CTS

    Hello

Y at - there no way how to check the marking of package out of TX systems and immersive of CTS on the system itself please?

I can find it somewhere in the newspapers? In which we please?

I can see packet marking for incoming packets in the statistics of appeal, but not for outgoing packets.

CUCM config is EF for voice and AF41 for video (verified in the telephony settings), but I can see the audio and video packets on another site like AF41.

    Really appreciated any answer.

    Kind regards

    Josef

As Chris has said, use something with port mirroring to be sure.

There is also a cpapability of capture on the CTS / systemes systems of TX, please see the guide to the cli

    utils network captures

    utils network captures [dest ip-address-or-hostname]
[host [ip: arp | rarp | tcp | udp | all] :/ / ip-address-or-hostname] [page] [digital] [hex] [file] [number] [many size] [port number] [src ip-address-or-hostname]

  • External calls to CTS-3000 using CUCM

    Hello

I'm trying to configure the scenario below, and I just want to know if it is supported

We have a system of telepresence CTS-3000 registered to a CUCM dedicated just for telepresence units. We have ICT trunk between telepresence CUCM and CUCM have registered phones who works for inter-classes calls.

When I ring a number external unity of the CTS, the call gets initiated and falls straight lines. I registered an IP phone to telepresence CUCM and I can make outgoing calls.

On newspapers of the CTS, I see a "call ended due to the distance point of endpoint resource unavailable ' error.

    Thanks in advance

If you try to call from your CTS, through ICT devices on CUCM telephony?  What are the endpoints you are trying to call?

CTS endpoints use telepresence Interoperability Protocol (TIP) for call control.  Only endpoints speak advanced the CTS models are CTM bridge.  Video normal Cisco phones do not TIP (including 9971, 7985, CUVC, etc.).  Audio only phones also do not speak the TIP.  Basically, the CTS rooms can only call each other without a MCU such as Community trade marks or the server of telepresence from Tandberg/Codian.

  • CUVC 5100 7.2.0.0.1 PROBLEM WITH ENDPOINTS

    Hello

We have MCU 5100 with version 7.1.2.7.2.

Dials to the number of the service monitoring of the auto MCUS of endpoints (tandberg EX60 and CTS500) successfully completed and the endpoints conducted a video conference with any problem. Actually, we had a problem with the CTS 500 (we had a video of this endpoint, but the Tandberg was ok) so we decided to move to a newer version 7.2.0.0.1. Now, when Dial us into AA for MCU then the call disconnected with reason in mcu (Disconnected (reason undefined))

    You have an idea?

    attached is the error message

    Concerning

    Chrysostom

    Hello

It would never work if you dial directly from a CTS in CUVC. You will need to hire CTMS always, even if you have a single unit CTS during the call.

Details on this interoperability works and how to integrade CUVC in the TP more vast infrastructure can be found here:

  • Upgrade of Tandberg E20, EX90 and C20

    Dear Experts,

I have Tandberg old endpoints with versino points and I want to upgrade in order to be registered to CUCM natively.

    C20 version is T3.1.2

    EX9-version is T3.1.2

E20 I am unsure with the version.

    I want to install C20 and EX90 T7.0 and E20 version to version T4.1

What is required for the upgrade, which is the steps? is there an intermediate version upgrade or we can do a direct upgrade later.

    Thanks in advance

    Anas

    Hello

You can go forward with a direct upgrade. It's not a problem but its compatibility with the version of cucm depends on.
Olexsander having already asked of the cucm verion it is critical info just in case you are not running on a more recent/compatible version and not in a situation of cucm upgrade.

  • Function button "Transfer" CTS?

We run 1.7 on our endpoints CTS and the Midlet running on PSTN phones as well.  I've been asked for the ability to transfer a call from one piece of CTS to the other.

Currently, it seems that the MIdlet control programmable keys that are presented on the phone, is that correct?

I can't get a transfer softkey to appear on PSTN phones.  Is it normal?  Endpoints support CTS same call transfer feature?

    Thank you!

    Hello

The soft keys are part of the MIDlet which are served by the codec software.  The function button 'transfer' is not included, as CTS endpoints do not support the call transfer feature.

    Thank you

  • CTS calling not of C series running software TC5

I'm having a problem where the calls of CTS does not call Tangberd C series exploiting TC5.1 software.

    Here's the whole upward;

CTS registered series CUCM and C registered in VCS

There is a trunk between CUCM and VCS.

    Version

    CTS - 1.8.1, sereis C - TC5.1, CUCM 7.1 VCS 8.6.2,

CTS is not a call to the endpoint TC5 but if I downgrade to TC4. the call goes thru.

Everyone is run in this kind of problem? If so, can you share me your solution please?

    Hi Zaw,

I saw a similar question in the past on CUCM 8.6.2 where the present of a URI in the SIP contact header and the CUCM TC5 endpoint tries a DNS reverse lookup on the server of the URI that fails and pulls the call.

I would need to see traces CUCM to confirm, it comes to the question, but if I remember well him endpoint CTS would a 503 Service Unavailable message.

If you control the DNS server that the CUCM is pointed, so you could try adding a fake a record for your SIP on VCS domain to see if it helps.

It may be preferable to prosecute in order to explore all the options your TAC.

    Thank you
