Cube ASO with BSO Partition as a target

Hello

Can someone please explain to me the following because I'm not able to understand, after reading various articles and other documents Essbase

What is the actual use to have a partition BSO Transparent (target) of a cube ASO (source)?

Exactly how does the Write-Back functionality if I have a transparent wall BSO (target) of a cube ASO (source)?

And finally, in that companies first scenario would implement a transparent wall BSO (target) of a cube ASO (source)?

Your help is very appreciated.

Thank you

Mickael

I will explain a simple business case that we use in our systems.
Actual expenditures are loaded into the ASO cube at the day level.
In the BSO cube, we will maintain budget and forecasts at the level of the month.
The two strokes are synchronized except the time dimension.
Transperent partition is created from ASO (source) to OSI (target) for actual expenditures and months.
This will help the BSO users by reading the actulas comparison purposes when they do adjustemnts budget and the forecas.
Here there no problem in writing to the budget and forecast in the BSO cube and users are not supposed to do any writing to the actual numbers.

  • transparent wall with BSO (src) and ASO (tgt)

    Hello

I just want to confirm if we can have a transparent wall with BSO as source and ASO as target. Both my cubes ASO and OSB have given and are essbase cubes. So I want to display the data that is already there in my cube ASO and also it is in OSB.

I went through the documentation and it is said that this configuration is supported. But I just wanted to confirm until I started my design.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is a combination of supported but I think that the ASO target database should have no local data and may not contain partitions.

  • Data extract - source ASO to BSO target

    Hello

Client wants to retrieve wound of members of a dimension sku # a Cube ASO to the BSO Cube. Excerpts from OSI to ASO data are normally quite simple with DATAEXPORT. However, since ASO cannot run traditional calc scripts I'm wondering if there are methods to extract data from ASO to OSB? ASO does not store the values t rollled - it? So if it not is not wouldn't that eliminate partitioning option? Also, does ASO sopport report Scripts? Curious as not a guru of the ASO.

    Thank you

You can have an XREF on the OSB by extracting data from the database of the ASO, though I wouldn't have thought that would help and xrefs can be slow.

  • How to query and make general dashboards with BSO cubes

    Hello community,

Does anyone have the General information on how to make dashboards and repository with bso cubes. We did some dashboards with a few cubes of aso, but we know not even how do data appear in an analysis with bso cubes. We really don't know a lot about the difference between these types of cubes. Help demo or resources would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have managed to do with a cube ASO just do the same.

The ASO or OSB cubes in the end are cubes...

The different main, that's how you build your cubes as they probably contains different things with different structures.

Remember that ASO cubic automagically total when you query it, a BSO cube does almost nothing in itself, so if you don't calculate it you have generally not all aggregates, etc.

If you failed to get the data of your OSB the question is probably more your cube itself: there data? is it calculated? (if you are using SmartView you something?) you model right? etc.

    Thank you

Yes, you can partition multiple to cubes ASO ASO as long as it's using transparent partitions or related.

  • Sharing the values of substitution variables complex between ASO and BSO of databases

We ASO and Essbase BSO names of members of database with spaces in and need to store some of these member names in the substitution variables. However, this should be done differently for ASO and BSO, due to script syntax calc requiring double quotes and MDX requiring hooks. For example:

    ASO:
    & CurWeek value = 1 week
    MDX: [& CurWeek]

    ASF:
    & CurWeek value = "week 1".
    Calc script: & CurWeek

Therefore, the substitution variables can be shared between ASO and BSO, cubes because the value of the variable BSO requires double quotes because of the space in the name of the Member.

Is there a way to get the above to work with ASO and OSB? Unable to escape the quotes in the calc script syntax? Or double quotes can be removed in the MDX formula?

Yuck! I'm curious to see if someone has a really elegant solution to this. :)

I'm sure you have seen this already, but a workaround is to create an alias that is not a space (or probably better, use a name without a space Member but leave some space in the alias).

What is your specific motivation to avoid the solution two variables? If it is purely of synchronization, do not forget that even with a variable unique no guarantees of the formulas of Member ASO and BSO calc scripts will be always synchronized without a response, because the formulas (by the SER60) pick up not a new value until the application is restarted.

  • FX translation in cube ASO

I heard that it is possible to perform translations of monetary dynamics via Member mdx formulas in a cube ASO, but so far I couldn't get much of what it is to work.

I have a cube that contains a dimension of projects, a dimension of country among others, and a monetary Dimension, as well as the size attribute for project currency and currencies of the countries.

Each country are marked with an attribute of the currency of the country in the form of the EUR, GBP, JPY, etc..

Each project is marked with an attribute of currency project in EUR (P), (P), (P) JPY GBP, etc.

The exchange rates are stored in the dimension of currency with the names of Member in form 1EUR, 1JPY, 1GBP, etc..

We have a member of the reference currency in the monetary dimension, where all the raw data is loaded and to complicate things, income values are specified in the currency of the project and the cost values are specified in the currency of the country.

I try to add a member of the "US Dollar" in the dimension of currency that dynamically converts revenue after costs depending on the currencies of countries attribute and the attribute project currency using corresponding exchange rates.

    Any ideas?

Sorry - no - what I wanted to create a monetary dimension as follows:

    Currency

    Local

curr1_loc data will be loaded to these

    curr2_loc

... several currencies other than the Euro and USD

    Euro_loc

    USD_Loc

    Convert

    USD

    Formula curr1_loc_Converted_to_USD on these

    Formula curr2_loc_Converted_to_USD on these

... several currencies other than the Euro and USD

    Formula Euro_loc_Converted_to_USD on these

Formula of USD_Loc No. necessary here

    Euro

    Formula curr1_loc_Converted_to_Euro on these

    Formula curr2_loc_Converted_to_Euro on these

... several currencies other than the Euro and USD

Formula of Euro_loc No. necessary here

    Formula USD_Loc_Converted_to_Euro on these

Add more currencies converted according to the needs.

  • Load of FDM data in cube ASO

    Hello

It is possible to load data from cubes ASO in 11.1.2.1 use FDM? I know that we cannot do in 11.1.1.3.
    Please advice.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Yet another workaround solution "doubtful" but could replicate you your outline of the ASO (members only) in a database of the OSB, set it as your target in FDM, but as you say never load the data to it and put something between the two.

This would mean that you have to maintain the hierarchy in two places, but it overcome the need to validate your cards.

I agree that we reach beyond the kingdoms here now so I think you need to find a way more 'standard' to achieve what you need.

    Good luck

  • ASO and BSO entry levels

Hi, a parent may be an entry in a level cube ASO/OSB? If Yes, is there a property that must be set so that the data can be loaded at the parent level or essbase accept by default? Thanks for your help.

ASO does not accept entries from parent level.

OSI does by default. However just because it is, does not say that it is a good idea. I imagine that someone will chime in with more details.

  • Z400 disks with EFI partition not mounting after the Windows 7 Pro upgrade

HP z400: after a repair/upgrade to sp1 of Windows 7 Pro (64), no matter what external disk with an EFI partition is not installed.  Player will be present in the BIOS and the management of drive, but without a letter. Cannot assign a drive letter.  All other discs mount correctly.  Disks with EFI partition will mount on other PCs.  All the drivers seem to be current and fuctional.

I thought about it... after two weeks of puzzle, I finally found the cause.

I run MacDrive 8 so I can play discs with HFS + formatting.  This program should be completely uninstalled and reinstalled after the upgrade.  I had turned it off before the upgrade, but it takes more than that.  Everything works now as expected.

But wouldn't be INCE if Windows reads discs mac natively?

  • HP Envy X 2: laptop recovery partition (D) merged with another partition, not be able to create a recovery media

I have merged my restore partition HP with another partition I created. Data recovery files are still intact in the New Partition. I have not created a recovery media. When I tried to create the USB Flash Drive recovery using recovery HP Manager media, I get the message that "recovery partition does not exist. How to get again the merged recovery partition and create a recovery USB Flash drive. If simply copy data from recovering files to a USB flash drive will work as a Bootable media in the case that need if in the future.

@joy1964: should not have done that.  Messing around with the OEM partition somehow good enough recovery ensures it won't work not later, when you need it.

Personally, I don't trust recovery integrated systems in any case.  You want to be able to recover from an image stored on a disk system large capacity Flash DRIVE or external.  In this way, if the disk fails, I can restore a functional system within minutes.

Consider using a third-party product known as Macrium Reflect this.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

AND... you no longer have the recovery partition at all and can reuse that space for something else.

I got this Lenovo Z580 a little more than a month.

I bought an extended warranty of 3 years about this at the time of purchase

    (1) hidden to start

    (2) C: for operating system with 650 GB

    (3) D: Lenovo with about 25 GB

    (4) Levono_Part hidden

I want to see if I can delete all partitions and then create 3 partitions to install Win 7 and Win 8 on 2 partitions...

My problem is with the warranty...

By doing so I void the warranty

I tried searching the web and documentation but could not get a clear answer...

so it is the one key recovery, in case at some point in the future if I decide to revert to the original default...

How do I go to do that...

Please someone answer this for me...

As mentioned previously, change the size of the partition and the creation of new partitions will not cancel the warranty. Or install new os would do.
