CUDA Matrix Multiplication fails

Hello

I am trying to expedite my application by moving some operations of heavy matrix on the GPU. Given that I have never created a block diagram to run on the GPU to date, I did a simple example to see how things work. The screenshot of the VI I wrote is attached.

Simply, it initializes the device and the LVCUBLAS library. It allocates memory for matrices, it will use and uploads the data to the device; calculate the multiplication. However, even if I am not getting any error, the result get, which should be [2, 2], is not correct. What I get, it is essentially the C vector, which is [0,0].

Am I missing something?

Thank you in advance for help you.

Hi man,

Finally, I got it working. I post my solution here, because it might be useful to others.

The problem is that the latest version of the CUDA, 7.5 Toolbox, has only 64 bits of the cublas and cufft library versions. Therefore, they cannot be called by Labview 32 bit (I actually tried to force Labview to do this, but I got an error, and that is the explanation http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6C2CEE5925B8C1B08625721A00731B5E).

I could install Labview 64-bit, but I'm also using the FPGA module, which requires Labview 32 bit, as pointed out here http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374737b.html

I cant even install the 32-bit CUDA Toolkit from a previous version (6.5), as my machine is a Windows 7 64-bit.

Then I overcame all this simply by copying the libraries cublas32_65.dll and cufft32_65.dll of the CUDA Toolkit 6.5 installer and pasting in the CUDA Toolkit 7.5 folder installed on my machine.

I hope this can help.

  • How to divide each unique number in a matrix by the number with an index in another matrix?

    Hello

    Basically, the calculation, I tried to do is called "dividing element by element". It is a transaction between two matrices with few passes and lines. The result matrix also has the same demension and each element is obtained by dividing the element with the same index in a matrix of the element with the index even in a different matrix. for examlpe,.

    A = [2 4 6

    3 9 6]

    B = [2 2 3

    3 3 2]

    the result will be

    C = [1, 2-2

    1 3 3]

    Is there an easy way to do another going out each element using the table to index?

    Thank you very much

    Hao Liu

    Use the 2D tables instead of the matrix data type, then just use a simple primitive division. the operation will be done by item automatically.

    (Generally you should always use table 2D instead of the special matrix data type. The matrix data type is most useful for linear algebra)

    (Die, he must be very careful, for example, if you multiply two 2D tables, you get a multiplication of element by element, but if you do the same operation on two matrices, LabVIEW will substitute for a real matrix multiplication, which is not the same. For the division, it seems that the matrices are divided piece-by-piece, so it might work for you directly. You should just be aware that the matrices are often treated differently. "They are a very special type of data).

  • Waveform to the Multiplication of matrices

    Hi all.

    I have a DAQ - MX file that brings a table 1 d of waveforms. This will be either six, seven or eight waveforms (based on the previous settings). Regardless of how many there are, I want to take the first six of these waveforms and a matrix multiplication.

    In other words, if A is my 6 x 1 read voltages in the acquisition of data, I want to multiply this matrix by B, a 6 x 6 of constants.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you

    James

    Then do what I said in message 3.

    You started confusing things when you started talking on the application to the constants to the entire waveform.  It is impossible to make a 6 x 6 times 6 x 1 matrix multiplcation if you talk about all the points in a wave form which will have more than 6 points.

    Looking at your last equation, is the vector of 6 x 1 represents a single element in time of 6 waveforms?  If so, use the first part of what I said in message 3 to convert your table 1 d of waveforms in a 2D array.  Then iterate over the column of table 2D 1 or 1 row at the time (dimension whatever gives you the unique element of 6 different channels).  You may be able to auto-indice according to the direction.  Use this table 1 d of 6 item to your multiplication of matrix with your matrix 6 x 6.

  • The Microsoft/Windows Update errors and updates failed.

    I just had to make YET ANOTHER Destructive full restore my win Vista PC, regular and continuous errors and problems caused by who knows what and the fact that the system restore never worked once in 10 years of friggin! My PC tries to run Win' Vista (SP2) and all the new updates that are applied after SP2. I also run Norton Internet Security (fully updated). I would like to re - install Office 2007 again once more, but I'm reluctant to until I get an answer to the following problem, because whenever I have re-installed Office 2007 I get Office update errors as well. I do not yet have enough away with this recovery to even think about re - install "other apps" again. My problem is that a heck of a lot more than several updates that were 'available' over time since I bought this pc (which didn't even have SP1 on it when I bought it new), do not have more than several times. Finally, it seems that these updates failed stop appearing as 'available '. Currently failed updates are: IMPORTANT: KB974468; KB2729449; KB2742595; RECOMMENDED: Windows Live Essentails 2001. OPTIONAL: Bing Office 1.3.1. also failed (the current version is 1.3.3...).

    My concern about all these multiple failed updates is that if these updates ARE important, whereas they should, and at the very least, not failed to install the first time which must be installed with success the next time. There are at least 40 + other these updates on my pc (of all types) who failed the first time, but succeeded (according to Windows Update), the second time. After doing a search and try to install these updates above manually from the Microsoft Download Center, I got a response that these updates "are not" or "are blocked by another condition on my computer. What 'State' is probably I wonder? Makes me think anyone or whatever decide an update IS important for a particular system is wrong either (and the update is NOT important at all) and so it does not yet appear in the list of "update available", or it IS important and there is another unknown or error "NO that does NOT exist. preventing the update to be applied. I say no because maybe this unknown error also cites a number of error that is not found by the completely useless online "windows help and support!

    If an update is NOT or is no LONGER available, then why hell is he always recommended! ??? In all cases, "Windows Live Essentials 2011" settles, and looking for 'help' by selecting "get help with this error" I am taken to the "windows help and support" line (which doesn't help at all). That's because this 'aid' shows only 26 'results' and NONE of them include error numbers (800706... and two instances of 66A) city. To decode 0 x 80070002. X 0 means that it is a hexadecimal number, 8 , error, the first 7 means it a windows error and the rest of Eastern 2, the number, the Windows error.

    Windows errors (smallish numbers) and COM HRESULT values (in general, but with exceptions, start with an 8 as 0 x 80040154) are defined in WinError.h, except 8007nnnn where you are looking for the error Window number it contains.

    As a general rule, Windows errors are less than 65 535 (0xFFFF). Errors from 0 x 80000001 are HResults Component Object Model (COM). Errors from 0 xC0000001 NTStatus results.

    NTStatus errors (usually, but not always to start with a C as 0xC0000022) are defined in NTStatus.h.

    the .h files are the best source because it includes the symbolic name of the error that can give clues such as the source of the error

  • Problem, assess the iterations

    Hello

    I have a following script

    mu_B = Zeros (1,21);

    for i = 01:21
    County = i;

    j = 1: 125

    mu_B (i) = mu_B (i) + (j) * R (Count);
    Count = count + 21;
    end

    end

    created in LabVIEW

    Do not get the required results and again I am not be able to know if it's an exact equivalent of the script mentioned above. Need help.

    Kind regards.

    Your script describes a matrix multiplication, mu = R * a, where mu is a (column) vector of 21 items, R is a matrix of 21 lines and 125 columns and a (column) vector of 125 lines.  In your case, R is a 1 d array, so we need to make a 2D with 21 lines and 125 columns table.  Once we do that, the problem is very simple to solve.

    It will be a good exercise for you to do by yourself (and we will help you, if you get stuck).  There is a function in the table palette called table of reshape - wire R on the left and your two index, 21, then (pull down) 125), and you will get the form R 2D on the output.  Integrate a loop For of R - have - you noticed the "tunnel of indexing" (it looks like a square within a square)?  If you look at the wire inside the loop, it isn't a double line, i.e. a 2D picture, but a single line, which means that it is a line of the table 2D.  You don't need what whether wire in the connector of the loop For - it automatically scroll each of the 21 lines of R.  Now put one in the loop - here you don't want indexing tunnel (because you want the table in its entirety, all 125 items, inside the loop), then right click 'a' tunnel and choose "disable indexing."  Now you have two arrays of 1 d 125-element, you need to multiply, element by element, - that's exactly what the LabVIEW function multiply.  Wiring of the output of this multiply through the loop For (notice another tunnel of indexation, this time turning each of 21 iterations of the loop in an array of 21 items, "mu".)  And you're done.

    So, what do you need to solve this problem?  A remodel, a loop For and the other multiply to operate.  Give it a try.

  • T610, SAS 6/iR loses readers

    I had 2 tables RAID1, OS (Win 2008 R2) and data. I replaced the data with the larger disks, but when I went into the RAID he could see that one of the new disks, in addition to the matrix of the BONE. The reinstallation of the readers and try other machines from the backplane slot he finally saw the two new drives, but after the creation of the new matrix initialization failed and after restart of the controller was not detected NONE of the readers. Once again, after the removal of the disks, I finally found 2 connectors (2 and 3) where the controller detected readers OS original and determined that a RAID1 array, but it has been marked as inactive, and "Turn the table" is greyed out. The only option available is "Delete Array." And yet, it does not detect the 2 new drives.

    This means that the SAS 6/iR is dead (it is initialized when during startup) or perhaps a problem with backplane? Or is there something else I can try to get to see all the readers?

    I suspect one of these components are at fault. Everything worked very well until you added the two new drives. Remove the two new drives and see if the old parts work correctly without installing them.

    Faulty or incompatible hard drives can cause problems across the entire RAID. They can disrupt communication with the controller that can affect other drives connected to it.

    Thank you

  • Rubber sheets

    Hello world
    Any body can help me how to implement the rubber sheet in Oracle Spatial 11 G.

    Hi stephane, -.
    That's how this feature is designed.
    All transformations will be collected in a matrix of final processing via several matrix multiplications and then the final transformation matrix will be applied to the original geometry. Please be aware that the order of your transformations are important.

  • Help: "Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP" Installation failed

    First of all, has anyone successfully lowered their vista to xp in a machine SL400/SL500?

    I had just followed the "Windows XP clean installation/Downgrade Guide" here:

    http://Forum.NotebookReview.com/showthread.php?t=188992

    and got stuck in step "Install Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP"

    The 'Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Windows XP"for SL400/SL500 (Note: this driver is different from T/R61) I downloaded the support of lenovo cannot be installed. Every time when I followed the instructions of the official support page to run 2ksetup.exe, he gave me a saying invite "installation failed." I have also tried to run "2ksetup.exe" and "2ksetup.ini", according to the official support for unattended Setup page and nothing was (apparently it doesn't have too).

    PS: this installation is done after that the chipset intel is installed as indicated on page 'guide' from notebookreview.

    I also tried to use the driver for T/R 61, since in the official support page, it seems compatible. The installation can be performed successfully, but when I switch the 'compatibility' to 'AHCI' SATA drive in the bios, I can't start windows (every time it showed a blue screen and restarts automatically). When I went back, everything became normal.

    Someone has any idea how to handle this?

    Clean XP install on my SL400 worked like a breeze. Actually a little felt uncomfortable having a complete set of official XP drivers available, because my previous installation was on a HP with almost no XP support beyond what users were mosaicked together in forums.

    I don't like the idea of changing the setting in the BIOS SATA back and back, then I slipstreamed driver ICH9M AHCI (with SP3) by using the MSFN guide. After that, XP installs without complaining, and it was just a matter of download and to install the drivers using the wire of notebookreview.com as a checklist on what to install and in what order.

    Some information on the Guide from notebookreview:

    • I installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager normally; didn't need to follow the instructions in the guide. Probably does not need to install at all, but you get the utility so you can check NCQ etc. works.
    • ACPI power management is named ThinkPad Power Management driver in the list of drivers for SL.
    • If integrate you the SP3, you will have already sound driver UAA, so you can skip that.
    • Skip Atmel TPM (Trusted Platform Module). There is no driver for the SL series.
  • Cannot print multiple copies from Excel. Also impossible to update HP driver. The update of the Microsoft HP driver fails to install.

    Windows 7 + Office 2007 with HP 1200 LaserJet printer: unable to print multiple copies of Excel documents.  Also impossible to install the update from the HP Microsoft driver.  Windows Update indicates the updated driver available... but fails to install.  Everything was stable and works very well.  All other printing works very well (including multiple copies from other programs like Adobe etc).

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Rolloutman,

    ·        What happens when you try to perform multiple copies of Word?

    1. to narrow down on the issue, I suggest you to print several copies of a Word document or notepad.

    2. provide the error message or error code for the problem to install the updated driver, follow these steps:

    i. Click Start, in the search box, type in update

    II. click on windows Update

    III. click view update history

    IV. double-click Update failed

    3. update the printer driver to manually. Steps to update the driver:

    i. click on start, type devmgmt.msc and then on enter.

    II. develop the printer and right click on the sub element and click on update driver.

  • Name resolution fails when you are using multiple static IP addresses

    When multiple static IP addresses are set on my single Ethernet adapter, name resolution fails most of the time in both directions. It sometimes works, but this seems like only I can when he in thing to go back to the IP address of a specific subnet (changing the order of the IP addresses in the config?).

    Settings IPv4 of the Ethernet adapter (which I will refer to PC - 1, Win8) are generally the following:
    IP: 192.168.15.180/24
    IP: 192.168.1.254/24
    IP: 169.254.1.1/16
    Gateway: 192.168.15.1

    Check name resolution from another PC (which I will refer to PC - 2, Win7) on the 192.168.15.0 subnet via ping returns often to the other two survey periods. PC - 2 IPv4 settings are:
    IP: 192.168.15.182/24
    Gateway: 192.168.15.1

    PC - 2:
    c:\>ping PC-1
    Ping PC-1 [192.168.1.254] with 32 bytes of data:
    Request Timed Out

    The outcome here is, of course, the PC-1 sees a query of a computer name on 192.168.15.0 subnet and it returns the IP address for this subnet.

    In addition, and more to my main problem, PC - 1 does not return an IP address for our servers local (I'll call Server-1), returns the following error.
    c:\>Ping Server-1
    Ping request could not find host Server-1. Please check the name and try again.
    Ping the IP address directly works without problem.

    The two problems are solved when the two 169.254.0.0 192.168.1.0 and subnet subnet are removed from the PC-1, leaving only the statically assigned subnet 192.168.15.0. The issue can be reproduced on 2 PC (Win7) as well by assigning similar static IP.

    Does anyone have a suggestion or two to try?

    Hello

    The question is more suited in the TechNet forums. So I would say you mention the link and send the request in this forum for better support.
