cursor doesn't work in my touch pad in my laptop

the cursor moves but when clicking on does not

Hi rafa jtm,.

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

3. you receive an error message?

4. What is the number of brand and model of the laptop?

I suggest that you check in the touchpad settings and make sure that all settings are correct.

If all the touchpad settings are correctly set, then I suggest that you reinstall touchpad drivers by visiting the manufacturer of the laptop, check if it helps.

I hope this helps!

    my touch pad on my laptop does not move the pointer, but when I have my mouse wireless pluged in it will work I was told I could have disabled the touch pad which I have to do to activate it again?

    Hi dove2k,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

    You will need to enable the touchpad on the laptop itself.

    Find the area of the touch pad, you will find a button to enable or disable the touchpad.

    If the step above doesn't, try this step.

    Go to control panel > mouse > device settings tab
    Click (or to disable)

    Notes:
    On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable the touchpad. For example, ACER, just do Fn + F7.
    You can click on Reset device if none of these solutions work.

    If you still can't touch pad to work, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information.

  • is there a 'work' 10 Windows touch pad for an Aspire 5742Z-4586

    I upgraded my Windows 10 laptop. Touchpad drivers I found online do not have a proper setup application that allows all setting options that I used to have with Windows 7. I want to disable all the features of tap on the touchpad completely and allow only the keys to use for tap/click. I'm often accidentally pressing the key while typing moves the cursor then I type where I won't be typing and it selects a link and I lost what I'm typing. I don't even have to press the button, just the wave a thumb or finger close to him. This is sensative and so boring it's unlivable laptop. Help, please!

    You are welcome.

  • Cursor doesn't work when I type in lowercase or uppercase

    Hello world
    I have the cursor depending on whether I use to compare a value I entered in my form with the one I have stored in my database. But if I already entered a username like this a JDOE and try to enter again lowercase like this a jdoe, the cursor cannot identify that there is already a username with the same name. How can I fix?

    DECLARE
    n_dummy NUMBER: = 0;

    CURSOR test_User_ID IS
    SELECT count (*)
    IN MyDatabase
    WHERE user_id =: my_database.user_id;
    BEGIN
    OPEN test_User_ID.
    SEEK test_User_ID INTO n_dummy;
    CLOSE Test_User_ID;

    IF (n_dummy > 0) THEN
    MESSAGE ("User id" ' |: my_table.user_id |') "already exists. Please enter an identifier unique to the user. (', acknowledgement of RECEIPT);
    RAISE Form_Trigger_Failure;
    END IF;
    END;

    Don't know if I get you exactly, but if you want to check the case, you could do:

    SELECT count(*)
    FROM my_database
    WHERE UPPER(user_id) = UPPER(:my_database.user_id);

    Be aware that any index on user_id is not used to this approach.

  • The Touch Pad on my laptop is frozen, I can't click on anything and it doesn't move do I do?

    My laptop is a HP Pavilion with Windows 7. Last night I felt for a few minutes and when I came back that the mouse was frozen. im not able to move it to click on anything whatsoever. What should I do? Help, please!

    Well, don't forget to perform a hard reset to release the accumulated energy of the laptop. Do this by:

    1. unplug the power cord and all the accessories.
    2 turn the laptop and make sure it's off.
    3. remove the battery
    4 press and hold the power for 10 seconds, which releases energy
    5. reconnect the battery, plug the charger and turn it on.

    Could you also give a model and your mobile phone number? While I can see that more to try to provide you with more useful instructions.

  • Audio doesn't work is not on the new Dell laptop

    I just bought a Dell inspiron with windows 8.1 5558 today. The laptop looks good, but I am facing 2 major problems.

    (1) a small cross in front of audio symbol indicating this as no output device is installed. Then the Control Panel indicates that NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Extensible wave) WDM is installed. So, how can I get the audio to work?

    (2) I see there is an upgrade available for the NVIDIA software too, but when I click it it keeps saying cant connect to NVIDIA, try again later.

    PS: The system came with a free upgrade option for Windows 10, would upgrading help? If so, please help with this.

    I find that when typing I continue brushing the touchpad, thus causing problems.

    You need an external mouse, or something before you do this, because the touchpad is very hard to follow reactivate without using a mouse.

    1. On the Start menu, select Control Panel. Category view in Control Panel, click Printers and other devices.

    2. In the Printers and other devices window, click the mouse icon.
    3. In the mouse properties dialog box, click the device settings tab, and then click settings.
    4. To change a touchpad setting, click on the + before the setting you want to change and then change the setting.
    5. To save the changes, click OK.

    touchpad doesn't work on my laptop.   I can't find that everything about the touch pad in Control Panel.  can you help me please?

    Hello

    It's material is not a Windows problems.

    / Settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 as you start then look at the screen - make sure that is it
    is a toggle the TouchPad that it is enabled.

    Check with support of the manufacturer system, documentation online or forums that there is probably
    Shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions.

    Parameters for TouchPad located in the control panel - mouse (there may be several tabs with TouchPad
    entries) and some have a utility that loads in the Notification area next to the clock in the bottom right.

    ==========================================

    If necessary and the TouchPad makes its appearance in Device Manager: (make sure that you have restarted at least
    only once if the above did not work)

    Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
    Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
    on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.

    Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET

    This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB. This does not prevent the touchpad from working.

    The similar procedure on XP, Windows 7 and Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

    Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.

    Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

    ==========================================

    This utility also allows to control the TouchPad:

    TouchFreeze

  • Satellite click L30W 2-B - Touch Pad doesn't work

    Hello

    When I connect to my computer, after a few minutes y touch pad works, the system tray icon has a red x through it, and if I go to properties it is not my touch pad, but he said any other device. I updated the driver for touchpad without result

    Are you using the original pre-installed version of Win8.1 that you got with your machine?

  • Left click the Satellite C660 Touch Pad/buttons does not work

    Hi guys!
    I own a Toshiba Satellite C660 (of course: P) anyway. Today, I was just doing what I do usually on my laptop,
    when suddenly the left button of the mouse has stopped working. (Bare with me, it's very weird to explain xD!) Also I can not 'left click' on my touch pad. I can still move the cursor with the touchpad and right click with the right button.

    I tried slightly shaking incase of crumbs, or something. Although I never eat around my laptop. It is not difficult to grow as there is something under it, it just doesn't work!

    In summary, I can't left click. But I'm able to move and made a click right, weird!

    For the moment I have my USB mouse plugged in my computer and it works fine, but it is very annoying!

    Sorry if I don't explain it too well!

    Help, please!

    On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. It is not easy to tell if the left touchpad button is faulty or disabled in some way.

    As a first step, you should check all the settings for the touchpad. If your laptop computer has preinstalled software check Synaptics all parameters associated with the touchpad buttons.

  • Pro L10: After using a wireless mouse, the touch pad has stopped working

    Pro L10. After using a wireless mouse, the built in touch pad has stopped working properly. At the start of the keypad icon touch shows and the touchpad works intermittently, after a few minuets, the icon disappears and the touch pad stops working. In the control panel / mouse & or device drive I can how the program works, then disappears.

    I deleted the software and reinstalled nothing doesn't. In some cases, I get a message that a pointer is on.

    Can you help me?

    Hello

    It seems that the wireless mouse or mouse wireless drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
    I put t have a good solution for this problem. Well, you can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for latest driver updates. If the updates doesn't solve this problem I suggest to use either the mouse wireless and disable the touchpad with FN + F9 key combination or use a regular USB mouse.
    I guess that you are having regular problems with a USB mouse.

  • Satellite C50D - B - 11 X - touch pad does not work

    Hi I have a C50D - B - 11 X Satellite, I've upgraded to windows 10 and now the touch pad does not work, the cursor is located in the middle of the screen, can anyone help.

    Check if the touchpad would work after uninstalling the driver for touchpad of programs and features that you can find in the control panel...

    I'm not sure that the touchpad driver developer but the Synaptics touchpad driver or MOMENTUM... you may need to check this...

    After removing the touchpad driver, please restart the system.
